So, let's not wait any longer and get ready to enjoy all the beauty surrounding Aman & Ravinder's wedding affair! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Rav and I met through Shaadi.com. A full-on arranged marriage which turned into love in no time. I was hesitating but he was always there to support my family and I.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I wanted my wedding outfit to be traditional. So, it had to be bright red. My dad understood my vision for my lengha and made sure the workers in India were seeing it to and got my lengha made exactly how I wanted it without even being there. No fitting/ no pictures- I originally shared my idea with the worker and rest was up to my dad and the workers who made my dream come true.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was doing it with family. It was not just my special day it was also my families too. We did it together!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Being the youngest in my family, everyone had a lot of expectations of the events being fun. My family flew from Canada, Indiana, England, Vancouver, and even India to share my special day with me.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
At the end of the reception night, Every single person was on the dance floor, dancing the night away. I was surrounded by people who loves me.

What a great way to start this week, isn't it ladies? Remember that we have new stories every day, so make sure to join us tomorrow to get your daily dose of inspiration!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
A family friend had been trying to get us to meet for three years prior to us actually agreeing to it, until one day when we both gave in and finally agreed!  The rest is history while the future is a "mistry."

As cliche as it sounds, we both knew from day one!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
It look place on our vacation in Dubai on the second to last day! I had been anticipating a ring the whole vacation and had finally decided to drop it because it was almost over. Well, it turns out that he anticipated my thought process and succeeded in surprising me for the first time ever!

Long story short- He arranged for a photoshoot prior to dinner that was "offered to us by the Burj Al Arab." We were walking towards our "restaurant" taking photos and posing along the pier, meanwhile I was starting to get hangry. At a certain point, we turned and entered upon a flower path, fully decorated cabana, and romantic music playing! I was in complete shock. The photographer didn't give me a chance to process yet because he continued making us pose... until the last "pre-engagement" photo where he had me face away from Prince. I turned around to find Prince on one knee barely able to get the words out!!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The wedding planning was the biggest combination of stress and excitement that we had ever felt in our lives! I am not sure what we would have done without our wedding Planner, Sheen of Studio Sheen Events. She was the biggest blessing throughout everything.

The venue, South Gate Manor was incredible. The owner, Chris was flexible in allowing us to do so many things and was with us the entire day of our wedding- I mean from 4am with me starting my makeup until 1am after the reception was over! Great venue and even greater hospitality.

Hair & Makeup was completed by Maliha Khan. I worked with her multiple times throughout the wedding week ( and even prior ) and her work is absolute perfection. She understood exactly what I wanted every time I said "I want a natural look." I had such great confidence in her by wedding day that I actually let myself fall asleep getting my reception look done! She is so amazing and incredibly sweet.

Decor and DJ was done by Exclusive Events and they really worked hard to bring our vision to life. We met with them at various times throughout the planning and they executed everything to perfection. The decor for pre-events, wedding, and reception were absolutely stunning. The music and special effects done by DJ were to die for!

Photography and Videography was done by Abhi Pandya and Nayeem Vohra. We met the two of them at friend's wedding in Mexico and decided that we wanted to work with them! They both have amazing skills and knew how to work their audience, adapting constantly but also their personalities were solid. We had such a great time joking and having fun throughout the entire process because of them. Their work is phenomenal.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We did all of our shopping within ten days in India (first time in Mumbai) all alone! Stressful is an understatement! We went to all the stores and figured out on the spot what color combinations we wanted for not only us, but the entire bridal/groomsmen party. I loved all the pastels and new things that brides are doing nowadays but I knew that I wanted to be in the traditional red for so many more reasons. Prince on the other hand, wanted to wear something a little different. We loved the combo with me in red and him in pastels, with the bridesmaids and groomsmen complementing us!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I would have to say the most enjoyable part of the planning was all the actual planning and details of everything- as crazy as it sounds! We both had to coordinate our days many times so attend meetings and discuss changes. As stressful as it was, I feel very blessed that we were both able to work together through it all.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The guests love food and DJ the most from we heard! The food was catered from Amiya Restaurant and I still drool when I think about some of their foods! We also had Nitrogen Cooled Ice Cream and Cocktails by 321Chillz and the guests could not stop talking about it!

The music at our reception was so amazing that the entire dance floor was packed from the second we opened up the dance floor until the very end. We had multiple people ask us if we could give them a playlist from the reception!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There were so many special moments, from the first look to being pronounced husband and wife but the one the sticks out the most for me is when I made my bridal entrance. It was a very surreal moment, that I can't even fully describe. In the blink of an eye, so many emotions went on in my head- I was so excited to be getting married but anxious at the same time, but also completely taken back by the fact that everyone was cheering me on. It sort of hit me in that second that all of these people came from all over just to be here for us. It was surreal to say the least.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Everyone says something along the lines of "don't stress, it will work out," but I say do what it takes to plan your dream wedding, stress all you want, but when you wake up the morning of your wedding- drop all of it. Whatever will happen, will happen. We stressed so much for a year planning our wedding but wedding day was the least stressful day of our lives. We rolled with the punches (and there were) and knew we were going to be married by the end of that day, being surrounded by the people closest to us!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Mehndi- the one and only, incredibly talented Dhara with Mehndikalogie. Her work was exquisite and I received so many compliments on it. It was absolute perfection.

Pre-Wedding Event Photography- Hidden Gem Visuals with Geoff. He was so amazing in recognizing family relations and capturing all the special moments of both the Pithi/Grah Shanti and Sangeet. His work was really good and well received by the entire family.

ZM Gagra Re- I got custom fresh flower jewelry and garlands made ZM Gagra Re and is so incredibly amazing at her work. She did custom colors for my Pithi outfit and made these gorgeous (heavy) garlands for our wedding. I am still so in love with those garlands.

We are still sighing over this spectacular wedding, so we need a moment to catch our breath and to put ourselves together. But don't forget to join us tomorrow for more! We have new stories every day!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Mohammad ("Mo") while I was doing my Master's program in Boston. He moved there for work. I was trying to be more social at the mosque, so I decided to go out with a group of people for bowling. Mo was working late that night, but one of his friends (who planned the bowling night) convinced Mo take a break and join us. That's the first night we met and hung out together.

When we met, it was an instant spark. As I got to know Mo as friends, I saw a lot of signs that pointed towards him being "the one". We got along really well, shared many of the same values and ideals in life, which for me was a rare find, and we supported each other with our goals and ambitions. There wasn't really one specific moment where I knew - I think there were lots of mini moments that confirmed that we were meant to be together through the course of our relationship.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We both come from a traditional family! So there was no proposal. We had a very traditional engagement ceremony with our family and friends, complete with the ring exchange, dinner, and dancing.

He did surprise me with the most amazing date night, with dinner at the same place as our very first date, a walk through our favorite neighborhood, and dropping down on one knee to ask me to marry him.....A MONTH BEFORE our wedding. I guess all the hints I dropped about wanting to be proposed to post-engagement really worked.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was stressful because I was planning a 3 day wedding in Atlanta from Boston, but I started very early. I secured the venue, decorator, photo/videographer and caterer 10-11 months before the date. I relied mostly on word of mouth - vendors I knew have done an exceptional job in the past. I looked through Instagram and Facebook to see their work as well. I had a list of priorities where I knew I couldn't compromise on: food was a big one. At a desi wedding, the only thing that your guests care about is food. Photo/video was another priority because that's all that would be left to look at once the big day was over.

I will say, if I had to plan my wedding all over again, I would not change a single vendor. They were all so amazing to work with and they were truly amazing people that I got to know during that year of planning.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Most girls have a vision of how they want their dress to look like years and years in advance. I just knew I wanted my dress to be the traditional red. I had a few ideas (long top, skirt) but I was very open to other ideas. I traveled to Pakistan for my wedding shopping and relied on word of mouth about which designer would be the best one for me. The first (and only) place we went to was PLK (they're super well known in Pakistan), and that's where I got every single outfit designed (from scratch) for myself. Because I didn't have any specific idea or vision for the dress, I was able to mix and match designs, fabrics, shades of color, and styles for every inch of my wedding dress.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
THE FOOD. To this day, we have family and friends talk about how AMAZING food was at our wedding. I'm so glad I went with Asma's Cuisine. They catered my engagement dinner and I knew that day that they would be the only ones that would cater my wedding.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We had a very traditional 3 day desi wedding. The first day was mehndi, second was pithi/haldi + sangeet, and the third day was Nikkah in the morning with a reception in the evening.

I didn't have too many ideas for my decor, with the exception of the backdrop for sangeet and reception. Yasmin Khan of RoyalDekors really helped bring out my creative and visionary side and added her own experience and input to come up with decor that would look unique and beautiful for each event.

The dances at the sangeet were another favorite moment. Mo and my friends and our cousins did a 45 minute sequence of dances and a skit that portrayed our love story. We had a cousins/siblings dance for both sides, a girls dance, a guys dance, and a ShoMo dance followed by the skit.

Reception was quick because I really wanted to have a large amount of time dedicated to open dance floor. After our entrance, we had our first dance, cake cutting, speeches, and then we played the shoe game - you know, the one where we sit back to back holding one of each other's shoes as we get asked questions about each other - followed by dinner and dancing.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Start planning early. Us girls have a very specific vision of how we want our wedding to be for years and years. And if that is the case with you, it is best to start planning well in advance to secure your vendors who can make your dream wedding a reality. Come up with a list of things that you do not want to compromise on (for me, it was food and photo/video) and set your budget accordingly. I also think it's so important to try and take your wedding day one moment at a time. The day really flies by fast so enjoy it as much as you can!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My makeup and hair was done by Saba Jawed of Color Impressions by Saba. She was so great to work with. Because I didn't have a clear vision for each look, she really worked with me to figure out how to make each look for every event beautiful and unique. She made me look and feel like a Maharani bride.

My mehndi was done by Nikki Karimi from Beauty you Deserve and I LOVED her work. I really wanted mehndi that was very intricate and that's exactly what she did.

I also decided to get fresh flower gajray bracelets made for my sangeet night. Gardlands by Yasmin did that and I think she also did an amazing job. I showed her the color of my outfit and she made beautiful bracelets to match my outfit.

My cake was made by Nausheen Amir of Inspirations Unlimited. I asked her to incorporate my bridal lengha designs into the cake and she did just that. The cake looked spectacular and really complimented by bridal lengha.

Have an awesome weekend, ladies! Remember to wash your hands, share time with your loved ones, and, most importantly, don't forget to join us on Monday for more!

Dearborn, MI Pakistani Wedding by Ayesha Khan Photography

Happy Thursday, Maharanis! Today's celebration of love is not just elegant but truly faithful to traditional Pakistani weddings, and we are sure you are going to love it. So, let's not wait any longer and get ready to enjoy Yousra & Adeel's big wedding bash! Being this a life-changing event, it is no surprise that this young couple wanted to immortalize all the moments surrounding it. That is why they decided to bring Ayesha Khan Photography on board, who snapped shots from every angle and created the spectacular gallery that we are sharing with you today. But that is not all! Yousra & Adeel also called New Signature Films, who produced a cinematographic delight that we can't stop seeing! It was so amazing that we couldn't help to feature it in today's Video Blog, so you might want to check it out as well! The wedding festivities started with a Mehndi ceremony hosted at the Golden Gate Banquet Hall, and we adored every moment of it. The colorfulness and the merriment of this opening ceremony became perfect preambles for what was coming down the road. And "What was coming down the road?" you might be wondering. Well, Yousra & Adeel had a beautiful Shadi at the Islamic Center of Ann Arbor, where they profess their love and commitment to each other. A fabulous Walima followed this solemn ceremony, and oh boy, we loved every bit of it. The halls of the Bellagio Banquet & Conference Center transformed into a cornucopia of elegance and traditional flair thanks to the fantastic decor crafted by Yasmeena Floral. There was so much beauty all over the place, but nothing quite as mesmerizing as our gorgeous Maharani, who looked breathtaking dressed in a fashionable lengha from Naz Fashion Bug, after being glamorized by Hair and Makeup by Aliaa. And let's not forget about the dazzling pieces of jewelry she got from Precious by Maira and Simmy Designs, and the artistic Mehndi designed by Zainab's Mehndi. It was all a winning combination resulting in a drop-dead gorgeous look! When dinner time arrived, all guests enjoyed the delicious plates prepared by Kazi Catering, right before having a bite at the mouth-melting cake baked by Petite Sweets Detroit. In between all the dancing, the delicious food, and emotional speeches, the night got to an end. But the end of the night was only the beginning of Yousra & Adeel's love story!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I planned my wedding in a short-period of time (6 months.) So when I was planning I had to move quickly, I had been following my wedding vendors on instagram for sometime and as soon as a date was set I started getting quotes and finagling everything as quick as I could.

My wedding planning experience was overall very fun and hectic. I planned my wedding in under 6 months, after realizing the venue we had chosen only had that date, and nothing else for the next year or so! I had a great support system helping me plan. My vendors were amazing!! Especially my photographer & videographer. I had been following Ayesha on Instagram for a while and contacted her immediately after setting a date. Finding my videographer was a little harder, I was a little hesitant at first because he wasn’t “known” in the desi community but he did such an amazing job!!

Planning the decor was fun but a lot didn’t go in we plan. I fell in love with my stage after seeing it at another wedding on Instagram once so I insisted on using the same florist that did the same stage, but the experience was not as good as she missed many details we had gone over. Looking back she was the only vendor I wouldn’t recommend.

My hair & makeup were done by the same vendor! She was so nice and sweet. I had gone to her for a trial, my bridal shower makeup, & mehndi makeup as well. This was a great decision because by my wedding she was comfortable with my face and knew what worked for me and what didnt!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had a wedding dress disaster!!! I ordered a dress from Pakistan originally,  but when it arrived it wasn’t what was advertised. So me and my mom got in a car the next day and drove to canada to find a dress. I went to a few stores, but I bought the dress that I first tried on. I loved the unique color, and the detailing.

My whole life I had planned that I would go to Pakistan to go dress shopping, but with the little amount of time that I had and because of budget restrictions, I chose to order my dress online. BIG MISTAKEEEEE. It was not what I expected, and after seeing it I knew I couldn’t wear it. Two days later me and my mom drove to Canada to visit bridal boutiques. That’s where I found my dress, it was the first dress I tried on. I always wanted to wear maroon, but once I saw my cranberry dress, I fell in love.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
For me the process of planning out the small details was the funnest!! I loved scrolling through my Pinterest/IG feed looking at everyone else’s wedding.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved our dessert table! It was so nicely put together & not to mention gorgeous. Our vendor mixed traditional desi desserts onto the table and I loved it! We also had a fresh jalebi maker in the kitchen!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
A really special moment for me was when my mom was helping me get ready! I loved hearing our siblings speeches.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
My Mehndi was super colorful and fun! I ordered the dance floor cover from Pakistan, and loved all the color and detail on it. I made the canopy I walked in under, and I made the Shai Supari Wall For our Mehndi, me and my Husband learned our dance in the car after our photoshoot!!! We probably looked like idiots in front of everyone but we had fun.  Me, my mom, my dad built our shahi supari backdrop as well as the canopy I walked in under.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don’t stress & don’t over think it. Everything will work out. No ones even going to notice the small things you think are important. The venue completely messed up on my choice of linens and I didn’t even realize until I was looking at my wedding pictures.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Everything turned out great!!! My mehndi was done by a local mehndi artist!! A fun fact is she was the first person other than my mom to ever do my mehndi.

My jewelry was mix and matched between a local jewelry vendor and a vendor from Canada.

My cake was gorgeous & I loved it so much. I’m glad I decided to showcase it on my wedding stage.

What a fabulous wedding celebration, isn't it ladies? Remember that we have new stories every day, so make sure to join us tomorrow for more!
