Ontario, Canada Sikh Wedding by Banga Studios

Hello, beautiful ladies! We missed you during the weekend, and we were dying to get back to you. So you can't imagine how thrilled we are to be back with more energy to continue sharing romantic love stories with you! And talking about romance and love, today's feature wedding is a massive representation of this! So, don't wait any longer and get ready to have your mind blown away with all the beauty that surrounded Sameet & Jassi's wedding! Let's start this journey by joining our two lovebirds at their Sikh ceremony held inside the halls of The Manor. This spectacular venue that combines contemporary architecture with a lovely natural environment provided the most beautiful backdrop for Sameet & Jassi to start their married life. We are sure than more than one of the guests dropped a couple of tears of happiness when seeing our gorgeous Sameet in her bridal attire for the first time! She looked breathtaking in her elegant and fashionable Lengha designed by Rimple & Harpreet. And it mingled to perfection with the classy hairstyle done by Bella Flair - Hair Artistry by Jyoti Bains and the exquisite makeup designed by SabrinaxMakeup. Hands down, this was a winning combo that exceeded all expectations, what a talent! A big reception party hosted at the Universal Event Space followed the Sikh Wedding ceremony, and oh boy, it was a night to remember! Dream Party Decor transformed the halls of this venue into a mesmerizing setting more than perfect for bringing this wedding celebration to an end. Both our lovebirds attended this closing gala looking elegantly and fashionably, but it was our gorgeous Maharani who stole the show! She donned a ravishing attired from Falguni Shane Peacock India, and we cannot stress how much we loved it, she looked breathtaking! If you want to take a closer look at this celebration of love, head into our full gallery for more. The good friends from Banga Studios shared the fabulous shots they captured during this event, and we put them all together for your enjoyment. So, make sure to check them out!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him on New Year’s Eve and in only a matter of weeks I felt like he was the one.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He took me to whistler hills on a sleigh ride to the top of the mountain where he proposed.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
All my vendors were amazing. I love the wedding industry so I knew a lot about which vendors I wanted to choose. My husband knows a lot about photography and videography so he chose those bits. In terms of venue, we wanted something outdoors so we decided to go with a manor. It was perfect.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had no colour in mind when I chose my lengha. I was very fond of Rimple and Harpreet and fell in love with their lenghas immediately. It didn’t take me long to choose which one I wanted to wear.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Going to India to choose the outfits and jewellery. Gave me a chance to travel and see what is out there.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The venues, the decor, and clothing

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the process!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My proposal was absolutely the cutest thing!  Since I am originally from Tampa, Florida (I am a true Floridian and love my state), Jeff knew it would be important for me to get engaged at home.  In addition to that he chose one of my favorite locations (which is the beach) with our most precious little Nico.  I could tell that he was acting a bit nervous when we were walking on the beach and it become more apparent when he had to take random pictures near a lifeguard stand until he got on one knee.  Perfect day!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
To start the planning process, I did a lot of research online.  This was a very busy time in my life as I was completing my last year in fellowship so I tried to do as much as possible during random times.  In regard to our venue, we had a number on our list but as soon as we walked into the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA (Hamilton Roof Top Garden) we knew that it was the perfect venue for us!  It had an amazing view:)  I am also so pleased to have had the opportunity to work with amazing people that made the wedding so special.  I cannot thank enough Beauty by Archana/Jassi for my beautiful hair, Mandaps by Dhoom for a beautiful set up for the ceremony, and DJ Ravi Jackson for the can't miss Baraat.  In addition, my wedding photos (Twisted Oaks) and videographer (Fiore Films) are the best in the business.  We had the Bachelor Boy's for our band and it was such a fun time on the dance floor and we highly recommend them for any wedding!!!!  Thank you Jennifer at Kaleidoscope Weddings for coordinating everything on such a busy day.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
For my wedding, I decided to have a traditional South Indian Sari for the Indian ceremony and then a white dress for the reception.  Since I was planning my wedding during a busy time in my professional career, I was lucky that my dad and youngest brother were able to go to India and pick out the fabric and colors (gold, red and green) and then tailor them according the bridal party's specifications.  Since the wedding was in the summer, I really wanted to have a good color scheme for my bridesmaids and groomsmen.  The color that I ended up choosing was glacier and I think everyone looked amazing.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our wedding guests absolutely loved the Baratt and the Indian ceremony.  Since it was a fusion wedding, some of the guests had never been to a wedding with Indian components before.  They had an amazing experience witnessing the prayers and rituals that were performed for the ceremony in addition to seeing a fun filled Baraat with plenty of dancing!!  In addition, we had Alicia Finger for Live Event Painting.  During the ceremony, she depicted us during our first dance and it was absolutely amazing.  It captured us perfectly and the guests enjoyed watching her and the painting unfold!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I would say the most special moment in the wedding was having my mom and dad walk me down that aisle towards the Mandap.  I know this is one of my dad's proudest moments and it made me so happy to see the joy in his eyes (and my mom as well) throughout the night.  It was very important for him to have an Indian component to the wedding in addition to having my bothers involved.  A family moment that will never be forgotten.  The other special thing for me was having a table dedicated to past loved ones on both sides of the family.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The best words that I can say is to cherish your wedding day because it will go by so fast (with a blink of the eye).  Enjoy the moment with your family and friends because this is truly a celebration for all involved.

We've arrived to the end of this fabulous celebration, but don't forget to join us tomorrow for more! Same place, same time.

Hello there, darlings! Hitika & Sagar's big wedding festivities are almost getting over, but there is still time to have some fun at their fantastic reception party hosted at the Dockside Darling Harbour. Following the line of traditional flair and amazingness that we saw in all other events, Shagun Events designed a marvelous decor that left everyone speechless. Hitika & Sagar attended this closing gala looking elegantly and fashionably, making their first appearance in an epic entrance between fireworks from All Occasion Pyrotechnics. All the guests had a great time celebrating this life milestone to the beats of DJ Bali, who played the best Bollywood hits. The only time the guests stopped dancing was to enjoy the delicious plates prepared by Taj Catering right before having a bite at the sweet cake baked by Falguni Cakes Oran Park. Hands down, this was the dreamy reception party Hitika & Sagar always wanted, and the best way to bring the wedding festivities to an end. If you can't get enough of this lovely couple and want to relive every moment of this fantastic wedding ceremony, make sure to visit the full gallery that we have prepared for today. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I first met him when I was 6 years old, we reconnected in 2014 again and I knew he was the one when we first started talking after many years as we couldn't stop talking and at one point we talked for 14 hours non stop (no food, no break). That day when we hung up the call, I felt so heavy, I did not want to hang up. That feeling was assurance, he is it.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I proposed. So Sagar is a bit slow sometimes, this one day (5 years ago) I felt like, If not now then it would never happen. So we were in India, I had a rikshaw vala arranged by a florist and told them I will propose a guy and you will be on youtube (rickhsaw vala was very happy to participate to be famous). I had the rickshaw decorated. Had a friend bring Sagar to a quiet garden where we parked the rickshaw and I then proposed him. He was obviously in shock, but was a memorable day.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We stared 2 years in advance. I knew I wanted my phere/ceremony on the cruise so we went boat hunting for months. Finally came across Aussie Magic Boat from All Occasion cruises and booked them 12 months in advance. We then decided to have a reception hall not far from the city as the cruise wouldn't go anywhere else. So we decided on a route. Baraat at Opera, aboard cruise from ManOwar steps, ceremony under the bridge and by the Opera in water. Cruise took us to Darling Harbour, we had the Pyrmont bridge open for us with Music and reception at Dockside.
Outfits were also in planning froma  year in advance, Most of them were sketched and designed by mum, me, dad and Sagar, all our outfits are our own creation. We had followed a theme for all events so most of them are themed.  We had my two Lehengas (one wedding in sydney and next one in Delhi) from Frontierraas but we made many changes on those lehengas including changing their dupattas too and Sagar's outfits were designed by us again to match those.
MUH for all events except the wedding was Geeta Makeup Atristy. Wedding day was Sana
Decor was by the lovely Dee from Shagun events. My garlands were amazingly done by Sai Garlands. DJ was DJ Bali, All other reception vendors were by Dockside group and Catering was also matched to the theme of colours and was by Taj.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My parents went to Chennai first, got some ideas there but couldnt connect. Most of my sarees for pot bridal wear were from Chennai, including different silks and Organzas. But both my lehengas were from Frontier raas, since I had two wedding I was lucky to have worn but my dream colours for my wedding which is maroon burgundy in Sydney and Peach Pink in Delhi. Both are subtle colours and are designed in a way that I can wear them again with anything else such as a saree.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Designing dresses, sketching, making themes, getting everyone's outfit matched as per themes. We even had food matches with theme colours. So on Haldi we had shades of sunrise as a theme, and most food was yellow and orange.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The detailing and thoughts into it and the locations. We had our pre-wedding functions in Annangrove/dural area in an acreage property. People could stay till late and music was till late with no restrictions. Most importantly we had no alcohol, and guests enjoyed being in the moment

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When I was on the Jet Ski for my Bridal entry on the cruise and I saw Sagar with a content, happy and proud face.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
One big special detail was - we changed all traditions and rituals to keep equality. No gifts were exchanged within families. Hindu rituals where we bride had to vow certain things that promoted patriarchy were edited to a newer more suitable version to respect the rituals in the true essence we will follow.
As for the decor - most of it was done by Dee - she also made sure theme was followed for all three pre -wedding functions which was - shades of sunrise - Shades of Ivory and - Shades of Peacock.
Some of it was done by my cousin who is a graphics designer and my sister who is purely awesome.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Please dont waste money on expensive lehengas. It hurts so badly to see "sabyasachi bride" "Manish Bride", Just because you spend $10,000 on one outfit that you wont wear again (Especially if its one of those bright red lehengas) and your one photo featured on an instagram page. Find your value for money. Dont get carried away with brands and what's more famous. Check to see genuinity and its value in all respects.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My Mhenedi was - Shraddha Henna - She is absolutely into detail, My mehendi was special as she drew a rikshaw and all other places we had visited while dating in my mehendi,
My 3 tier, butterscoth, hazelnut and chocolate cake was elegant and eggless.
My reception dress sketched, material bought from different shops in sydney and stitched in sydney was nearly 50m of clothing with its weight nearly 8-10 kilos. Same with Sagar's double breasted suit that was custom designed and stitched in under $400. Garlands were an absolute delight.

That is all for today, ladies! See you tomorrow for more.
