Hello, Maharanis! Vrunda & Matt's lovely wedding celebration is live in today's Platinum Guide Blog.
How did you meet your Groom, and when did you know he was "the one"?
Matt and I were high school sweethearts! We went to the same college and decided to move in together about 2 years after undergrad. I always knew he was “the one,” but I was even more sure given that we had experienced our 20s with one another and, in fact, stayed with one another throughout those years.

It was during COVID, and we were still in lockdown! I knew something was up because that morning, Matt suggested we go to brunch. However, there were still COVID precautions in place, and not many places were open. We got dressed and headed to the North Shore of Long Island, and I thought it was odd that we were driving 40+ minutes to get brunch, especially with COVID being rampant. We pulled into the parking lot at the Planting Fields Arboretum, and coincidentally, I noticed my sister’s car there. I didn’t question it because I didn’t want to ruin the surprise if that’s what was happening. As soon as we started walking towards the fields, I saw both of my sisters run and hide behind a bush! By that point, the jig was up, and the next thing you know, Matt was down on one knee. I think I may have blacked out because I don’t remember ever saying YES to him!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was super stressful for me, so given that, I knew I needed a wedding planner. Chandai was AWESOME, to say the least. She walked me through every aspect of the planning process and ensured there was no stress on my part. I had a vision of colors, ambiance, decor, etc., from constantly looking on Google, and she was able to execute that.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew the exact look I wanted and was able to work with a designer who sketched it out and used different color patterns to make it come to life. I started the process in July of 2021, and my lengha came in from India in April of 2022. The custom fit was exact to my measurements which was great because I didn't need any alterations thereafter. The designer was also able to create a matching piece for Matt.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was coordinating our outfits with the vision I had in mind. We had both of our families dress in similar color patterns that matched our colors/vision as well.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
My wedding was an experience that included multiple live food stations, entertainment, and open-concept layouts where our guests could mingle with one another. The food was the #1 thing that our guests continued to rave about.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
During the reception, our bridal party gave such heartfelt and thoughtful speeches, which we continue to replay in our minds constantly! The week of the wedding, there was a hurricane, and our ceremony had to be moved indoors the morning of. Multiple people were unable to make it due to the storm, however, when we looked around the room that night, we truly felt the love surrounding us.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
From day 1, I had said I wanted to be surrounded by cherry blossoms and white flowers. I really wanted a “rustic” look with rose gold because, to me, that is timeless and elegant. This went with the overall feel of our venue and the time of year in which we got married.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the process because it will go by very fast! Plan your wedding the way you want and not the way others want you to. Your vision will come together, and at the end of the night, when you look around the room and feel the love surrounding you, nothing else will matter.
