How did you meet your Groom, and when did you know he was "the one"?
Danny and I are a Dil Mil success story. I was initially skeptical about joining the app, but after matching with Danny and exchanging text/phone calls for 3 months, he visited me in Chicago, and the rest is history. As cliché as it sounds, when you know, you just know. From the first time I met Danny, he made me feel safe and comfortable. We spend the weekend exploring the city and trying different restaurants and rooftops. Despite being long distance, Danny has always made an effort to visit me every chance he got, even if it meant driving 11 hours from NJ to IL during covid. 3 years of long-distance and traveling back and forth was all worth it because it was filled with adventurous dates in our hometown, making so many memories, and leading to the most memorable day of our life, our wedding.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I had initially flown to NJ to attend Danny’s friend’s wedding and spend a week relaxing in the Hamptons. However, little did I know that during this time, Danny was also planning our proposal. A day before I left to go back to Chicago, we were invited to a friend’s “baby shower” at Skyland botanical garden in Ringwood. However, in reality, it was Danny tricking me to get me all dressed up for the proposal. When we got to the Botanical Garden, we walked toward the Azalea Garden. Around the garden pond, he set up various picture frames of pictures representing various milestones in our relationship. In the end, there were two blank frames; 1 represented memories that we would capture leading to the big day, and the other represented all the memories we would capture for the rest of our lives. He got down on 1 knee and asked me to marry him. We had a mini photo shoot and then drove over to his cousin’s house for a surprise engagement party. I was shocked to see so many family members and close friends that flew from Chicago to celebrate this special day with us.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
While planning our wedding, we wanted to pick a venue that would allow us to create a unique and memorable celebration and that would be convenient for all of our guests. We chose Hyatt Regency Princeton because it accommodated all of our guests during the weekend stay and provided the best venue and cocktail hour space. Our theme for our wedding was classy with white greenery. The décor and lighting in our venue stunned and mesmerized everyone that entered the room. DNS Event Solution went above and beyond with their lighting and brought so much hype to the dance floor all night long.

What did your guests particularly love about your wedding?
Our guests were in love with how beautifully decorated and lit our venue was. As the doors opened to be seated for the main reception, all you could see on our guest's face were a feeling of awe because it was just that beautifully decorated. To this day, when we see some of our guests, they still comment on how amazing the reception hall was decorated. Even though we don’t deserve the credit for the hard work and enhanced vision of our decorator, we still get an overwhelming number of compliments when newly engaged couples use pictures of the decorations from our reception to describe what they want for their reception hall.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Although there were many special moments at our wedding that I will always cherish, one that will always stick out is the energy on the dance floor. From the heartfelt speeches from our family and friends to dancing the night away on our beautifully lit dance floor, the energy on the dance floor will always be a moment I will always cherish. Our DJ played all the best songs, and our lighting team really brought our vision of a club to life, making it a night never to forget. To make it even more special, Danny had planned a surprise dance where he got all our NJ and Chicago friends together to perform an amazing 8-minute dance!

Thanks for reading, loves! Hope to see you tomorrow. We will unfold more inspiring wedding stories.

Richmond, VA Fusion Wedding by Arazo Studios

Hello, darlings! We are thrilled to share the beautiful wedding of Pireya & Yousuf with you! If the name of this lovely couple sounds familiar, that's because their wedding was already featured in our Real Weddings Blog. But we loved this celebration so much that we couldn't wait to share the fabulous video by the incredible Arazo Studios with you. They captured every moment beautifully, from the couple's emotional vows to their energetic reception party. This couple's love story is nothing short of a fairytale, and their wedding day was just as magical. From the stunning venue at The Renaissance to the incredible floral and decor by Daisy Malik Decor, every detail was perfectly executed thanks to the expert planning and design by Richmond Bridal Consulting. Pireya looked breathtaking in her traditional bridal fashion from Maharani Fashions, which perfectly complemented her glowing hair and makeup by Afshan Makeup Artistry. As she walked down the aisle, her eyes locked with Yousuf's, and you could feel the love and joy radiating from the couple. Hercules Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night for the reception, while Al-Medinah Restaurant provided delicious catering that had everyone raving. And let's remember the fantastic Cake Man's Boss cake and treats that were almost too beautiful to eat but too delicious not to! Pireya & Yousuf's wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and culture, and we're honored to have shared it with you. We invite you to watch their wedding video and experience its magic. Enjoy it!

We are a union of two countries coming together. Since this was a fusion wedding, we wanted to highlight each culture through our wedding events. Each event was in a different city (between the bride's and groom's town) with a different atmosphere and color palette, making them unique and unlike each other so our guests could experience the best of both worlds. The venue, food, attire, and all other details were aligned with the respective culture that was highlighted for that event. We decided to highlight the Pakistani culture at our Nikkah/Engagement event in 2021. Our families entered with our country flags, which were then displayed on the stage and served as the backdrop to symbolize the union. I chose a very special song for my entrance, and our favorite comedian performed a halal comedy show. The theme colors were white, gold, and black. For the Gaye Holud in May 2022, we highlighted the Bangladeshi culture. The event was at an outdoor garden space filled with bright colors of green, yellow, and orange. We had a bangle bar and table designated for "Bangali Street and Sweet Treats." We all know street food back home is incomparable, and it's not a Gaye Holud without the overwhelming amount of sugar. My mom and bridal party spend months helping me DIY the decor for that event. Our grand finale was the Shaadi in June 2022. We wanted the traditional bold red and gold and decided to go with hints of coral/peach and beige for the secondary colors. The theme was red royalty, and the venue was an absolutely perfect gem. The grandiose building was filled with a vintage appearance, rich history, and heavy red/gold hues throughout its interior. We knew it was the one because it's called the Renaissance. We're obsessed with Italy and actually had our honeymoon there too. My hair and makeup looks were carefully selected for each event. I incorporated various styles for the occasions, and they were all done by the same incredible artist for all the events (Makeup by Afshan). Since we had our wedding events in different cities, we had to stay super organized when working with multiple vendors in multiple cities. Some vendors remained constant from our first events, such as our phenomenal photographers/videographers (Arazo Media) and decorator (Daisy Malik). Others, like our caterers, cake bakers, DJs, day-of coordinators, etc., were based on location. Every vendor was unconditionally helpful and contributed perfectly to our events. All gratitude and praise are due to them for being a part of our celebrations!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted the traditional color red. That was a definite choice for me since I was a little girl. Plus, it is my favorite color, so it made sense. Our Nikkah ceremony took place in May 2021, and I wore traditional Pakistani attire to honor my husband's culture. For the ceremony, I wore a beautiful white and gold floral gharara to the mosque and then changed into a handcrafted white and gold embroidered Anarkali for the engagement reception at another venue. Both attires, including jewelry, were custom-made in Pakistan and gifted by my in-laws. For my Gaye Holud in May 2022, I wanted to honor my roots and Bangladeshi culture. So, of course, I wore a traditional sari with bright floral jewelry. My saree matched the colors of the event, which were green, yellow, and orange. The jewelry I selected paired perfectly with my attire, and I looked like your typical Bangladeshi Gaye Holud "bou." For the grand finale, our Shaadi in June 2022, I wanted to wear a lehenga since it was the common attire for both of our cultures. I chose a bold red that struck the eye with heavy gold details. I went shopping with my mom, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and Yousuf one weekend in New York/New Jersey, and it's a core memory I will never forget. Yousuf did not see my final selection, as it remained a surprise for him. After saying yes to the dress, I selected all my jewelry and other pieces for the big day. I knew exactly what I wanted as my vision remained constant since I was a little girl dreaming of her fairytale wedding. I'm a Bengali bride, so I have to fit in my red benarasi sari somewhere. Since I did not get to wear one, my plan is to wear one on our one-year anniversary at an intimate event with loved ones.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
How detailed it was! From the cakes to the attires, to the stage set-ups, and everything in between. We also catered food according to the specific event. For example, we had traditional Pakistani food at the engagement reception and Bengali food at the Gaye Holud. However, our cultures are very similar. They are strikingly different as well. I always say it was a second war between Bangladesh and Pakistan for our love to win. Guests felt that at our events and commented on how beautifully we told our story through our celebrations. We stayed true to our cultures, incorporating deep-rooted wedding customs and traditions straight from our motherlands. Guests learned about our backgrounds and the significance of each activity at our wedding events. Although we faced a battle, love always wins, and our marriage was the beginning of two becoming one.
Maharanis, I hope this wedding will inspire you to jump aboard the wedding train. Have a great day!

I love alpacas and he took me to an alpaca farm. When we arrived there was an alpaca in a tuxedo!

I planned everything remotely while living in Chicago during the pandemic in 2020 so it was a bit difficult but I knew most of the vendors I wanted from past weddings my friends had. My planner, Meredith, was the best decision we made.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to Houston and got it all done in 1 day because international traveling wasn't yet allowed but I was pleasantly surprised!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I didn't enjoy planning it but I LOVED the weekend of when I let go of all stresses and just enjoyed being present. The hotel was sprawling with energy and our guests were at every corner around the hotel so we ran into friends and family all weekend even outside of the events

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
How involved all of our friends got to be with the dances! Friends from all walks of our lives joined in on the choreographed dances and it was amazing to see everyone out on the dance floor!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
How loved we felt through the entire wedding and especially our send off! I had no idea how much love could fill a room. we are so blessed!

This lovely wedding was such a pleasure to see. I enjoyed every minute of it! See you on Monday.

Middleburg, VA Stylized Shoot by Class & Style Productions

Hello Maharanis! This time we have picked a unique feature that will inspire your wedding! Sisters and wedding photographers, Tanekwa and Tye Bournes from Class & Style Production planned, produced, and photographed this styled shoot that showcases the beauty of an Indian wedding and the elegance of an American bash! They made some serious magic at the premier Goodstone Inn & Restaurant. Located in the heart of Virginia's famed horse and wine country, this scenic venue was the backdrop to capture dreamy portraits and build the most creative wedding setup. Kat Flowers Design's creative minds designed a neutral shade wedding scenario with blush, white, and burgundy hues for the American ceremony. They also got creative, assembling gorgeous flowers in an elegant bouquet that included the same shades to combine the bride's white gown designed Ava Laurenne Bride. Master hair and makeup artists Les Bourgeois Artistry, took the bridal look to the next level creating romantic waves and a glamorous smokey-eye look that was also perfect for her Indian bridal ensemble. The groom's outfit was an elegant TUXEDO BY SARNO white dinner jacket with black trousers and later slipped into a cream burgundy color with exquisite gilded work. For the outdoor reception, set up Soul Cakes by Tanya created the charming confection, while Select Event Group provided the linens, chairs, flatware, and plates. I love how the white wedding Settee perfectly complements the setup thanks to We do Weddings, etc. Remember to check out the exquisite stationery suite created by Design Maven Creative and Fingers In Ink. These elegant ideas will leave you breathless! Whatever you envision for your own big day, you'll find inspiration in this stylized shoot!
