Ladies, don't miss Atisha & Travis's real-life fairytale in today's Platinum Guide Blog. You will love it!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in pharmacy school at St. John’s. We were friends for a few years which led us to become closer and finally we started dating during my last year of pharmacy school. I knew he was the one when we had just started dating and he asked me to come over to watch Kal Ho Naa Ho. Haha just kidding, but he definitely got points for wanting to watch Indian movies with me  It was a series of small moments over time that made me realize he was the one

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He proposed in Switzerland! He was originally going to propose at Jungfrau also called the Top of Europe as it is the highest point in Europe. When we got there he saw it was slippery and freezing so he decided to hold off and propose at a different part of the trip. One night we went on a random walk in Lauterbrunnen and ended up walking on a trail that led us behind a waterfall. He was like wow this is the perfect spot, but he realized he didn’t have the ring. He was pretty upset he missed out on that spot. So then he finally proposed on the last day of our trip on one of the many bridges in Zurich during sunset. It was a beautiful spot to propose and I loved it!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted a traditional red lehnga. My mom actually went to India to buy everything for me and I chose my outfits over FaceTime! Thank god my mom has good taste! I’m always going to be thankful that my mom took on the stressful job of wedding shopping for me.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
My favorite part of the wedding planning was working together with Travis because I realized what a good team we were :)

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Remember to take a moment to look around on your wedding day and just take it all in.

Today's cinematographic delight by Ohana Films has everything you need to enjoy this celebration at its fullest. So, get ready to reach inspirational levels you have never experienced before! This time, we will take you on a visual trip to Haiku, Hawaii,  and, more specifically, to the Haiku Mill for you to take part in the wedding ceremony that united this lovely couple in marriage. And we want to make a big shoutout to Mira Savara Events for the perfect planning of this wedding celebration and Darren Keala for the incredible decor that set the mood for this life milestone. It was all a winning combination that we cannot stop seeing! Although the scenery was perfect, nothing compared to our lovely Maharani Kiran, who looked drop-dead gorgeous after being pampered by Maui Makeup Artistry. To end this wedding bash with a bang, Kiran & Grant celebrated their marriage with an intimate and elegant reception party hosted at the Andaz Maui At Wailea Resort. And all we have to say is that it was one celebration to remember! If you want to see more about all the fantastic details surrounding this celebration of love, hit the play icon below and get ready to enjoy this real-life fairytale. We are sure you are going to love every single detail of it!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Brought together by a personal matchmaker, Grant & I first crossed paths at the Claremont Hotel, Berkeley. We gabbed over cocktails & delicious eats for hours, closing the joint down. Our shared sense of humor and outlook on life unraveled so naturally, as though we had known each other all along. We left each other's company knowing in our hearts we would be together always.

A romantic at heart, Grant wished to incorporate details in my life that he knew I held close to my heart. Knowing how passionate I was as an educator, he felt that nothing would best the setting of proposing to me in my classroom while involving my students and my principal who also had become a close friend of mine over the years.

After asking my father for his blessing, Grant put forth his plan on May 31st - my parents' anniversary - by arriving to school during the afternoon recess. While I heard the pandemonium garner momentum outside of the classroom, Grant was "stealthily" handing out roses to each student, who had become quite acclimated with him the past few months, dubbing us "Granjeet" as a "matrimony" of our names - Grant & Kiranjeet - while also mischievously writing cliched poetry and love notes on our behalf addressed to one another.

Once the bell rang, each student sauntered in to the classroom, desperately attempting to stifle their excitement, to present a rose to me with Grant finally handing me a rose himself, proclaiming his love and desire for us to be together every day for the remainder of our lives. As he knelt down to ask for my hand, my students finally let loose their giggles and gasps of gleeful anticipation, and when I responded with "yes", the screams, shrieks, and rapture were beyond containment. Plastic champagne glasses flowing with sparkling apple cider ensued, and, true to form, what a unique unforgettable shared experience Grant created for my students to participate in such a special, heartfelt moment!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Once we immediately fell in love with Haiku Mill, cosmic forces collided with Sabyasachi's 2017 Udaipur Collection. The lehengha's green & yellow hues on raw silk complimented the lush gardens of Haiku Mill fluidly as though the cloth itself was a natural extension of the organic vines and branches found throughout the grounds. Noticeably visible was the mosaic border of the lehengha as it continued as the floral print, becoming more English influenced, a metaphorical nod to our multicultural wedding's blend of customs.

In my mind's eye, I had long envisioned incorporating a rich tone of emerald green for my wedding lehenga, so discovering this particular design and scheme was quintessential kismat. Simply stated, the wedding dress and the stunning venue was a match made in heaven.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
It was our best endeavor to have all of our guests regarded as one OHANA during the course of our shared time in Maui. We heard from a plethora of friends and family how special and close knit they came to feel with how each event integrated both sides together seamlessly, encouraging new relationships and bonds to form and remain established even to this day. From the onset, Grant & I strongly desired for our wedding to allow everyone to feel like a part of the "inner circle of trust."

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
With that ring comes ALOT of "responsibility". How right you are mom!

Never compromise yourself. You're all you've got.     Janice Joplin

See you tomorrow for more. We have a new love story that you don't want to miss!

Babylon, NY Indian Wedding by A.S. Nagpal Photography

Good morning, darlings! Can you believe how fast this week slipped through our fingers? It seems like we went from Monday to Friday in just the blink of an eye! And you know that we always have something special for you to start getting ready for the weekend, and today is no exception! This time around, we are excited to share with you all the beauty and intimacy that surrounded Sheetal & Varun's wedding celebration. Initially, these lovebirds planned to get married in the paradisiacal landscapes of Mexico, in a big wedding bash with over 300 guests. However, due to the emergence of COVID-19, plans had to change. Sheetal & Varun decided to keep the same wedding date they initially had, and instead of having a huge celebration, they had a small and intimate pooja in Sheetal's backyard. To comply with the safety measurements regarding social distancing, only 10 people attended the wedding. Still, over 400 people were celebrating along with the newlyweds as the wedding streamed via Zoom. All guests and online viewers enjoyed every single moment of the celebration and were utterly amazed by the ravishing look of our gorgeous Maharani. She wore the same wedding lengha her mother used for her wedding, and if that doesn't say tradition and love, few things will! The cherry on top of this gorgeous bridal look was the artistic Mehndi outlined by Henna For All, which added an extra touch of flair to an already swoon-worthy look! We know that planning a wedding is not easy, let alone plan a wedding ceremony under the current circumstances! So we want to make a big shoutout to Stylish Events for the perfect planning, decor, and execution of this intimate wedding affair. The attention to detail they had was outstanding, resulting in a dreamy celebration that exceeded all of Sheetal & Varun's expectations. Check more of this lovely celebration by taking a look at the fabulous shots captured by A.S. Nagpal Photography in today's marvelous gallery! It is the perfect preamble for you to get ready for a weekend full of love and inspiring ideas!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Vinnie calls me early Saturday morning on July 13, 2020 asking if I wanted to go to Fire Island with his family for lunch. I said sure, so he said okay I will be at your house at noon be ready. Of course he shows up and as usual I am still in PJ's watching Food Network, and he is yelling we are going to miss the Ferry! I said why are we going so early, and all the way to Fire Island for just lunch. Vinnie says his family wants to see Fire Island, and mentions since we love Fire Island, why not meet them and show them around. So I got ready, and we were on our way to meet them. ( Of course, I took forever curling my hair and made us miss the 12 o'clock ferry he had planned with everyone)

We get to the dock, and we continue to walk to the boat, and Vinnie says "Let's sit on the top, its so nice out" and I am no way ready to sit on the top of this boat after I just did my hair for the past hour, as he explains "who sits downstairs when its such a beautiful day!" So I finally agreed and we sit on the top of the ferry and we are now on our way to Ocean Beach. We are enjoying the breeze and all of a sudden the boat completely stops! I look over to Vinnie and say, I think there is a problem with the Ferry, its not moving! He looks at me and says calm down "I'm sure everything is fine", then I hear the anchor drop, and now I begin to PANIC!

I look over to Vinnie, and see him down on one knee, the captain on the loud speaker announcing our engagement and congratulating us! Everyone is screaming and clapping for us and WE ARE NOW ENGAGED !

We port at the dock, and are welcomed by photographers, and then walk over to meet our family for lunch. I couldn't be happier! But that wasn't even close to being over, Vinnie got over 100 of our closest family & friends to surprise ME his fiance for a FRIEND's themed Engagement Party! We continued to celebrate all day & night with everyone we loved surrounding us!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We planned to have all the big brands for our wedding ! Everything is still pending, but for our 5/15/20 quarantine wedding I was so lucky to wear my mom's wedding lehenga! It was amazing to see how beautiful it was after 35 years !

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Though this time is very chaotic and stressful, and we cant have the dream weddings we planned when this process started. Sit back, and think to yourself, what would be your perfect memory with these circumstances, and then do everything in your power to make the vision come to light!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I am so thankful to all my wonderful vendors, that went above and beyond for me during the Covid Lock down ! Mehndi in the garage, my photographer wore a mask for the entire ceremony and photo shoot, my decor company came to my house the day before, and morning of to avoid the chances of rain, everyone went above and beyond to make my day beautiful!

We hope you have an awesome weekend in the company of your loved ones. Stay safe, and don't forget to join us on Monday for more!
