New Orleans, LA Indian Wedding by Amanda Hodges Weir Photography

Morning Maharanis! We’re pumped to share the ultra mod and stylin’ wedding of Mahitha and Pavan today. These two had a jam packed itinerary of fun-filled events, beginning with their joyous Sangeet at the Audubon Tea Room. Take one look at these photos by Amanda Hodges Weir Photography and you can see energy bursting from every snap. What a fun group! We can’t wait to watch all the live action footage captured by Dyle Films. And in our opinion, one of the very best parts of a wedding are all the outfits. We adore watching Maharanis get all dolled up! Mahitha was adorned in multiple dazzling outfits and was sparkled up by the talented artists from Flawless Bride. Mahitha filled us in on the unorthodox way she chose all her lovely looks: “Being in my first year of residency, it was really hard to find time to go to India to go shopping for my wedding clothes. So my parents went to India instead of me. My mom went to numerous stores in Hyderabad, India; however, no-one would let her take pictures. So I would wake up at 5AM to my mom Facetiming me from stores. The quality of our Facetime was so awful so in the end I picked my outfits via blurry images of on Facetime and with the help of my mom’s and grandma’s good taste. It worked out really well. I loved all my outfits!” The Storybook Event used their planning mastery and pulled off a series of events fit for a Maharani, while Rao Factor festooned the venues in the ultimate in lux decor. While you wait for our ceremony and reception coverage, you can enjoy all the still images brimming in the full gallery by Amanda Hodges Weir Photography.

Toronto and New Jersey Fusion Indian Wedding by Divinemethod Photography

Hey dolls! We are elated to be back and wrapping up Cinthujaa & Robin’s grand finale of fusion wedding fun! One of the best elements of an Indian wedding is getting the chance to be all dolled up and extra snazzy for the night. However, this bride took it up a notch and had countless gowns that she slipped into. If that’s not taking it a whole notha’ level, I don’t know what is! For her wedding reception ceremony at The Tides EstateExclusive Events NY showed up bright and early to transform the spacious ballroom into royalty. The bride’s fashion palette was a swarm of corals and pinks that accentuated Cinthujaa to the T. DJ Manan Shah kept the crowd moving with the latest euphoric beats while guests dined on a specially designed dinner menu catered in house. Mayuri Parikh spearheaded and designed the New Jersey events and as you can tell from these images, everything just looked picture perfect. We have a ton of more images waiting for you in the gallery captured with elegance by Siva Haran of Divinemethod Photography waiting for your perusal.

Toronto and New Jersey Fusion Indian Wedding by Divinemethod Photography

It is safe to say that we are all about the glitz and glamour, but sometimes a traditional church wedding comes by and quickly snatches our hearts. Such is the love journey of Cinthujaa & Robin who moved their wedding ceremony from Toronto all the way to New Jersey. For her Christian ceremony, Cinthujaa slipped into a lace dress that just brimmed with feminine vintage vibes. The elbow length sleeves added a touch of personal charm and a shiny pair of Badgley Mischka heels completed the whole outfit. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart and with its antique fixtures and unique motif architectural design, there is not a single bad scenery shot in sight. Beauty by Tamanna ensured that the bride looked perfect from start to finish in all the photos captured by Divinemethod Photography in our gallery.

Toronto and New Jersey Fusion Indian Wedding by Divinemethod Photography

Everytime we wrap up a wedding here at Maharani Weddings, our hearts are left overflowing with joy. After all, we heart a good love story! Cinthujaa & Robin started off innocently normal. The two started to notice each other on campus around Manhattan College. It wouldn’t be until four years later and graduation that the two would actually reunite into what would become marital bliss down the road. And as they say folks, the rest is history. The couple wanted to honor both of their backgrounds and incorporated two different traditions, Hindu and Christian, into one fusion event. Koral Lane Events spearheaded the planning and design of the Hindu ceremony taking place at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. The bride walked down the aisle to an open mandap designed by Beyond the Limits Decor in a stunning peach and pink ombre pink sari. Hair was kept tidy in an updo surrounded by fresh floral; a classical nod to ancient India. We are so excited to share the live action captured by Trails of Memories. The Pinterest inspired gallery shot by Siva Haran of Divinemethod Photography is brimming with sheer light and sure to inspire you for your big day.

Houston, TX Indian Wedding by Biyani Photography

We’ve just covered Maharani Sireesha’s sangeet night and wedding ceremony, and now it is time to head into the dazzling reception party back at the Omni Houston. Sireesha walked out of her beauty chambers adorned in a flowing, hot pink anarkali covered in mirrored details. She chose the perfect ensemble to twirl around on the dance floor! Blush and Glow gave the bride the full royal treatment and we’re loving her bouncy waves and smoky eyes. Combine these beauty elements with dainty jewelry and swirling henna, and you get one stunning bride! Mandap Creations decked out the venue to resemble a pink paradise, complete with a candle wall, glimmering drapings, and oodles of red roses. To ensure not a detail was overlooked, Sireesha and Siddharth brought on Electric Karma to make all their wedding visions came to life. As evident in these stunning photos by Biyani Photography, the spacious quarters were decked out with pure royalty in mind. To make sure the party whizzed on all night long, DBI - BJ rocked out the venue with their fabulous beats and kept guests on the dance floor all night. Fabulous cinematography was captured by Tall Productions, and Biyani Photography documented sensational snaps that you can find in our gorgeous full gallery. And make sure to scroll below for all the behind the scenes scoop from the bride herself!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Sid and I met in college through a mutual friend. We hit it off immediately and have been together for the past ten years. Even though most of our relationship has been long-distance, our lives have woven together as we navigated school, new careers, different cities, and everything in between. We have grown to complement and support each other as life-partners. I can't pinpoint a specific moment where I knew that Sid was "the one," but I knew, fairly early on, that what Sid and I had was unique.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

I found some checklists on theknot.com as well as a timeline for Indian weddings online. I combined these two resources and was able to get a running start on booking my venues and some other smaller details before I got my wedding planner.

As far as vendors, I selected folks that friends had used and companies that my amazing wedding planner, Electric Karma, recommended. My overall experience with my vendors and venues was fantastic. I felt very supported by everyone and like we were all a part of the same team. The venues, the Omni Houston Hotel at Westside and Noah's Event Venue, were very accommodating of our cultural requirements and preferences. Madras Pavilion's food was delicious and their service was impeccable. I loved the Blush and Glow hair and make-up team and cannot recommend them highly enough. Mandap Creations, our decorator, was just superb and, together with our wedding planner, they really worked with us on creating a sense of warmth and classiness for our wedding events. Our DJ, DBI, was also great and played a fun mix of songs. Our photographer, Biyani, was amazing and had a knack for making Sid and me feel at ease in front of the camera. His demeanor and his photographic eye are outstanding. The Tall Productions team captured everything on video with professionalism and an attention to all the details. And on the days of the actual events, the Electric Karma team kept everything running smoothly and timely.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

Because we were unable to travel to India to shop, we methodically visited all of the clothing stores in the Hillcroft neighborhood of Houston, Texas (and some in Sugar Land, Texas as well). I was looking for jewel-toned dresses, lenghas, and saris with gold work, but I didn't have a specific color in mind. I wanted to keep my bridal looks traditional and timeless and found a great variety in the Houston area.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The best part of the planning process, and the motivation that kept us going through the stresses of wedding-planning, was the idea of bringing together all of the most important people in our lives. It meant so much to have our immediate and extended families as well as our dearest friends come from all over the country and the world to be a part of our special day.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Our guests really enjoyed the feeling of family that was present throughout each day of our wedding weekend. Even though there were over 350 guests, our wedding still felt very intimate and warm. Our friends and families merged, the speeches and performances were heartfelt and sincere, and everyone could tell that Sid and I were having a blast at our wedding. It was such a great day!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Part of the wedding ceremony involved us sitting on a swing surrounded by all of our family. They sang songs and gave their blessings to us as a newly married couple. I remember sitting next to Sid and smiling, and then looking out into a sea of familiar and loving faces. It was such a meaningful moment.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

Our Mehendi party was at the home of my brother and sister-in-law. I wanted the night to be different from the next two Indian events, so the party had sort of a Moroccan-theme to it and we had lamps and fabric draped all over the house. It was a really special night because Sid and his family met of a lot of our family for the first time, and vice versa.

The Sangeet night was a really great time. This was the night with all the performances and it had a smaller guest list than the wedding day. The highlights of that evening for me were the speeches, the song I sang with my best friend, April, accompanying me on her harp, and the surprise duet that Sid and I sang together for our guests. His family was so excited to hear him sing for the first time! This was probably my favorite event.

Our reception was incredibly special because of the speeches that Sid's parents and my brother made. They were incredibly moving and sincere and every guest felt closer to us as a couple and to our sweet families.

See you lovely Maharanis bright and early tomorrow!
