Atlanta, GA Indian Wedding by Zamana Lifestyles

July 4th is almost upon us, and for those of you who celebrate America's independence, that is cause for celebration! With all the excitement ahead this weekend, we couldn't think of a better way to end the work week than with a trio of the most inspiring wedding films to come our way! Starting off this brilliant bunch is a fantastic reel shot and edited by Zamana Lifestyles at The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North! It features a fun-tabulous Indian wedding event that will delight your hearts! From scenes of the bride, Maharani Priya, getting ready with the help of Belladev Hair and Makeup Artistry, to the unforgettable reception where her blue and lime green lengha steals the show, you'll love this amazing affair from start to finish. How could you not? With breathtaking floral and decor work by Occasions by Shangri-la, including a a brillaint, round mandap reminiscent of stunningly carved ivory, to the remarkable bridal fashions, this extraordinary wedding, planned by the talented team from Envi Event Planning, is one you won't want to miss! Our pastel Princess, who rocked a gorgeous coral, gold and sky blue bridal lengha for her ceremony, is absolutely spellbinding throughout this video. If only taste-o-vision were a thing of the present, we'd also be feasting on the delectable delights catered by Cafe Bombay and S3 Catering! Hopefully there'll be an app for that soon.

From the bride, on how she met the Raja of her dreams:

"I grew up in Atlanta, GA, and went to the University of Georgia for college. Naturally, I’m a southern gal, I moved to Chicago in 2010, for graduate school. To my surprise I met the love of my life in the summer of 2013. Kunal grew up in Charlotte, NC, and went to UNC Chapel Hill for undergraduate and graduate school. He moved to Chicago for a job offer and we met through a mutual friend.
When I first met Kunal I was blown away by his southern charm and smile. We got to know each other when he joined the run club in Chicago. Weekly, we would run a 5k every Tuesday on Lake Michigan. He continued to chase after me and now we are husband and wife."

On her Raja's romantic proposal:

"I thought I was meeting him for a normal date night at the Marriott Magnificent Mile in Chicago. The room door was cracked open with our favorite song playing “HAPPY” by Pharrell Williams. I walked in and the room was decorated with my favorite things: rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. He was on one knee and immediately my eyes filled with tears and I said YES!!!!
Following the proposal, we went to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Alahambra Palace. We walked up the stairs to a private room filled with my closest friends and family yelling “SURPRISE!!!!”. I couldn’t believe it! Our family and friends surprised me from all over! They came from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Washington DC! Kunal hired a photographer to capture all the special moments and he somehow was able to keep my family quiet about the surprise!
We spent the weekend with our loved ones in our favorite city and celebrated the start of our life together!"

On her wedding style:

"After a short 9 month engagement, Kunal and I began to plan the wedding. We got married on Thanksgiving weekend, November 29, 2014. It was definitely challenging to plan a wedding so soon after our engagement, but thanks to our amazing vendors my dream wedding really came to life.
I wanted a classy and elegant wedding. I love pastels, especially coral and sky blue. The colors I used for my wedding were coral, gold and a hint of sky blue for my husband as he is a huge UNC TAR HEEL FAN! The bridal party colors were champagne gold and sky blue!
My decorator was Occasions by Shangrila. Remmal was able to deliver my dream wedding. He executed my vision perfectly. For my garba I wanted an Indian mela type of environment with lots of vibrant tones of pink and purple. He created a beautiful lotus centerpiece to create a focal flower with a Ganesh in the center of the lotus. Surrounding the lotus were paisley rose rangoli patterns. The renovated ballrooms at the WESTIN Perimeter in Atlanta were absolutely stunning! With crystal modern chandeliers hanging from the ceiling I wanted a mandap to sync with crystals and beautiful drapery. I chose a beautiful palazzo round mandap with an acrylic roof for rose petals and candels. I wanted a raised aisle to flow to the stage. The aisle décor was a candle river that led to the mandap.
For our sweetheart table we used a glass “glow” table with our PK monogram engraved. Our table was decorated with various heights of floating candles. The back drop was 3 crystal columns with crystal floating candles. For our center pieces we used orchids and candles. Orchids are my favorite flower!"

On what she enjoyed most about planning her dream wedding:

"It was fun to see all of the moving pieces come together at the very end. I truly enjoyed working with all of our vendors. The food and dessert tastings were absolutely amazing. Ricky, with Cafe Bombay in Atlanta, was able to deliver a truly unique experience to catering an indian wedding. I still have guests that remind me of the savory kati rolls, paneer tacos and chili spring shots that were served during our cocktail hour!"

On her hair and makeup:

"Neeta Patel with Belladev Studio is truly an artist. She designed my entire look from the drapery of my outfits, dupatta and hair and make up. She was able to create the perfect look for me based off of my vision, and of course my Pinterest board! She is incredibly talented and dedicated to creating a look any Maharani would love!"

We're just getting started, gals, so make sure to check back for even more Filmy fun!

The bride, on her most memorable wedding day moment:

"The most magical part of the wedding was our first dance. As you walk onto that dance floor, you realize that all your family and friends from all over the country came all the way to the wedding are there just for you. You can't help but feel unbelievably blessed and loved at that time. After months and months of planning, everything you worked towards and imagined had just come into fruition. As I was dancing with Larry and looked into his eyes, I realized how lucky I was to have him as my husband and that feeling was surreal."

On her and her Raja's first dance song selection:

"Larry and I have completely different taste in music! I like soft rock and R&B and he likes old school hip hop, 90s, country and pretty much everything else! Neither of us wanted to pick a mainstream song for our first dance and we searched for a while for The song. On our free time, we would youtube wedding first dances to see if we could find something we both loved. I actually randomly happened to hear Forever Like That by Ben Rector on my Pandora and fell in love with it. I sent the link to Larry right away and he loved it as well."

On her reception fashion:

"As part of the south Indian tradition, I was to wear a sari to the reception. I knew I wanted to purchase everything other than my wedding dress from India. I also knew I wanted a traditional Kanchipuram silk sari but I had no idea what I wanted. Finding that also took hours for me to find after going to numerous silk stores in Kerala but we had a lot of fun finding it."

Have a splendid rest of the day, dolls, and we'll see you back here tomorrow!

The bride, on what she enjoyed most about planning her dream wedding:

"The part I enjoyed the most was watching both families coming together. Both us have a large family with lots of uncles, aunts and cousins just like most Indian families. It was just amazing to watch both sides of the family getting to know each other as they were helping out with the wedding festivities and having a blast while they were doing so."

On the role that family and friends played:

"We would not have had the wedding of our dreams without the love and support of our parents. I was also very lucky to have my sister-in-law to help me plan the wedding. We were also so lucky to have the best bridal party ever. Every single one volunteered to help with the tiny details of the wedding and made it a complete success. Thanks to everyone, it was the most joyous event of our lives."

Sit tight, dolls! We'll be back before you can say "reception sari"!
