Concord, CA Indian Wedding by JSK Photography

JSK Photography takes amazing portraits of Mita and Ashar in their Indian ceremony and reception fashion ensembles! Our Maharani chose Kalki Fashion for her breathtaking lenghas. She looks like Bollywood royalty in her red and gold lengha, accessorized with lavish gold jewels. Our Maharaja is the perfect counterpart in his stylish sherwani and traditional headpiece. For her night-time reception look, Mita is fabulous in a coral pink and gold lengha that sparkles as it catches the light. Singar Studio styles our beauty's hair in long, flowing curls and dolls her up in flawless makeup. I love that lip color! Her soulmate, Ashar, is sporting some cool threads as well. He looks quite sophisticated in his tailored grey suit complete with a coral tie and handkerchief. Together, these two look divine! Visit the gallery to see more of this pristine photo shoot!

From the bride, on the wedding style:

"I wanted a traditional yet elegant look for our wedding that would highlight the two of us. I chose a palette of colors which consisted of pale pink, coral and fuchsia. It took me a while to figure out what I really liked in terms of colors, but once I did, I was really pleased with the outcome."

On the most special moment:

"I would have to say the moment Ashar and I joined hands at the mandap, it really hit me. We were actually getting married! The both of us were overcome with emotion and it was a moment that was truly indescribable."

Awesome portraits of the couple are still ahead!

Scottsdale, AZ Indian Wedding by Robles Video Productions

Get ready to kick off Filmy Friday with a breathtaking Indian wedding event in Scottsdale, Arizona, planned and designed beyond perfection by South Asian bridal faves, Sonal J. Shah Event Consultants. This beautiful film was shot and edited by Robles Video Productions and showcases some spectacular highlights from an incredible desert event. We can only imagine how stunning the photos captured by Sameer Soorma Studios are after seeing this little cinematic gem of a wedding film. The bride is all aglow, as her personal friend and hair and makeup artist, Pooja Mehta, helps her get ready for the day of her dreams. Her traditional bridal lengha, by Darshi Shah and Bhavin Trivedi of DBST Studio in Vastrapur, is a sensational number which she envisioned and had created beyond her wildest expectations. As she makes her way down the aisle at her romantic ceremony — set in a luscious, green oasis on the grounds of the We-ko-pa Resort, and featuring a mandap that stands center stage like a sparkling, ivory altar adorned in flowers — she is a no doubt the ultimate vision of a blushing bride to her anticipating groom (who was ushered in by the sounds of Sound Nation during his baraat procession). The floral and decor by Wendell Design Group Florist that surrounds their wedding stage adds the perfect color and vibrancy to their vow exchange — which is probably my favorite part of this video.

The bride, on how she met her Raja:

"The two of us met by chance, but with many mutual friends, I know our paths would have crossed sooner or later. I was happy it was sooner…We had a friend in common who had invited me to a housewarming party. I didn’t plan to attend on the day of the party, but finally decided I would stop by this housewarming party, planning to leave after about an hour. That never happened… When I walked into a nearly empty party, the only person I saw in the room was Sudeep sitting at a table looking rather bored. I was going to make the most of this party…I walked right up to him and introduced myself. We hit it off immediately and began chatting the night away. I was so excited to meet someone new who shared so many of my interests. We bonded quickly over our common taste in music. We spent the next few months getting to know each other, and finding out Sudeep was the coolest guy I had ever met. He was funny, patient, witty, laid-back, so kind, and he let me be me. Sudeep’s nature has influenced me positively and balanced me; I would not be the same person without his steadfast support, especially during dental school. Over the years, we have explored and traveled the world and have had adventures, laughs, and triumphs. I cannot imagine these moments with anyone else and am so thrilled to be able to create a lifetime of memories!"

On her Raja's super romantic proposal:

"One of my favorite memories of our engagement is having my friends and family there to celebrate. Sudeep had asked me to marry him with a custom cake that was a huge surprise to me! It's hard to surprise me! He then rented out the rooftop area of a lounge in Scottsdale to celebrate with our friends that night. It was a perfect day and I couldn’t have been happier!"

On her wedding style:

"I love vintage décor. I thought about colors I loved and just branched out from that. Coral and gold are some of my favorite colors so it was very easy to have that to build on for the reception. For the ceremony, we wanted to showcase our amazing state’s natural beauty. The golf course at our venue was unobstructed and provided 180-degree views of the Four Peaks mountains and the famous 300 foot water fountain in Fountain Hills. Having the ceremony wrap at just before sunset allowed for a colorful end to our wedding and some great photo opportunities."

On choosing her wedding lengha:

"We had an idea of what we wanted and it went along with our classic or vintage feel for the wedding. We went with the talented designers, Darshi Shah and Bhavin Trivedi of DSBT Studios for the design and creation of my bridal lengha and Sudeep’s grooms outfit. We spent many hours with them choosing fabrics from raw silk, to looking at textures of fabric to create this look. We became great friends with our design team along the way! They paid so much attention to detail and our personalities. They also created the look for my sister’s wedding and reception outfits. We had less than 10 days in India, and after months of looking online this was better than anything I had been looking at! It was one of a kind! After we left India, we just left it in Bhavin and Darshi’s hands and discussed styling and jewelry and were so pleased with our overall look!"

On her hair and makeup:

"As someone who has been dreaming of my wedding since I was young, I definitely had ideas in mind. Luckily, I had an extremely talented hair and makeup artist who is also a close friend of mine. Pooja knew my style and I left the rest in her hands and I couldn’t have been happier!"

On putting her own personal touches on the wedding of her dreams:

"I loved the idea of making our wedding more personal with my own creative touch. I helped with everything to the prints (programs, welcome cards, signs, etc) to the guest welcome bags, escort cards, and more. I wanted the wedding to have lots of small special and unique memories for our guests!"

Stay tuned for more Filmy Fridays, Maharanis!

Memphis, TN Indian Wedding by Amy Hutchinson Photography

Maharani Sheetal and her Prince Charminng have swapped their ceremony looks for some seriously fabulous party duds. Today's princess is rocking a coral-colored lengha with a champagne blouse, and to top off her fashionable frock, she's accessorized with a coral-designed necklace! What fab taste! The happy couple are about to celebrate their wedding reception at the Canon Center for Performing Arts, in Memphis, Tennessee, where Bombay House will be catering the evening's festive fare, and Prime DJs will be providing the body-movin' beats and mood lighting for the happy couple and their guests to party to. Amy Hutchinson Photography caught up with the newlyweds before it was time to hit the dance floor for some stunning portraits, and don't these two just melt your heart?! I don't know what's sweeter, them or their wedding cake by Ginger Clark. We're told that Message In A Bottle Productions was also in attendance, and has created a spectacular highlight reel — I don't know, maybe I can pull a few strings and we can take a look at it! Until then, get your fill of this fantastic South Asian celebration in the complete gallery.

The bride, on her most memorable wedding moment:

"Right before the DJ introduced Amit and I into the reception place we were on the 3rd floor above where we could see everyone enjoying themselves while we had alone time."

On selecting the first dance music:

"We chose Etta James' At Last for our first dance song because we felt like it applied to our relationship. For our cake cutting we went with Elvis Presley's Fools Rush In to carry on with our Memphis theme."

On the role family and friends played:

"Many friends and family came together to help out with planning and executing the wedding and we cannot thank them enough!"

We hope you loved today's Indian wedding, and this unforgettable bride, as much as we did. Have an amazing rest of the day, Maharanis!

Concord, CA Indian Wedding by Nebulous Dream

Our next highlight reel is more like a short, romantic film. Raian Vo of Nebulous Dream shot this charming video that re-enacts the moment this Indian bride and groom met, all the way to their wedding day. Having the breathtaking San Francisco landscape in the backdrop is a nice little treat too! We're sure the wedding photos captured by JSK Photography must be just spectacular! Ajooba Events planned and designed this bride's dream wedding at the Hilton Concord, and Kalki Fashion was our Maharani's go-to for her bridal looks. When it came to hair and makeup, the blushing beauty called on Singar Studio to glam her up to picture perfection, and Leena Bajaj adorned her with a sensational mehndi design. She also enlisted the Vintage Carriage Company to help the Raja of her dreams arrive in style during his baraat procession. Press play now for some serious butterflies!

The bride, on her Rajas romantic proposal:

"What was supposed to be a touristy day in San Francisco with family from out of town, turned into the (second) best day ever (first best is the wedding day, of course). It started with the usual sites of SF, Treasure Island, Crooked St., Pier 39, and we decided to wind up the day with the infamous view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We went to the Vista point near Sausalito. It couldn't have been a more beautiful, fog-free view as the sun was setting. Ashar's cousins suddenly had to "take a phone call" so Ashar and I stood there alone, admiring the beauty of the bridge and the city behind it. The next thing I knew he was on one knee. Before he could even get the words out, "will you marry me?" I burst into tears. We heard a loud cheer, and saw that some of our family and friends were hiding in the background the entire time. The location could not have been more perfect since San Francisco is where I grew up, and where we met. It felt so surreal to actually be engaged to my best friend and soul mate."

On her wedding style:

"I wanted a traditional yet elegant look for our wedding that would highlight the two of us. I chose a palette of colors which consisted of pale pink, coral and fuchsia. It took me a while to figure out what I really liked in terms of colors, but once I did I was really pleased with the outcome."

On her most memorable wedding moment:

"I would have to say the moment Ashar and I joined hands at the Mandap, it really hit me. We were actually getting married! The both of us were overcome with emotion and it was a moment that was truly indescribable."

On the role family and friends played:

"Our families played a huge role in helping us put this wedding together. From doing the research to helping us execute all of the small details, they were there every step of the way, especially to help keep me calm during the planning process. I was truly able to take in all of the special and memorable moments and enjoy our wedding by trusting them to ensure everything ran smoothly. Our friends were amazing with all of their help and surprises during the reception. Ashar and I are surely blessed."

Stick around for another wedding delight!
