How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him through a common friend and he added me on Facebook. Vishesh was trying to play the cupid, but things turned around and we started talking a lot more. It was long distance - I was in America and he was in Mumbai, India. There was no intention of dating because we are two very different people - he's the mischievous one and I'm calmer. But as they say, destiny played its role. It all started with phone calls, skype (Trust me, I have ditched him so many times initially), BBM (old school days) before we had what's app calls, etc. I think it was 2012 Valentines Day, he bought me a rose on skype and we video called for 6-7 hours that's when we knew we liked each other and realized we are dating. I saw him for the first time in April 2012 and we've never looked back. We'd meet every 4-5 months - but we never questioned each other if it was worth it, we knew it was! 2 years ago he moved to the States for his Master's degree and I moved to medical school but the 4-hour flights are better than the 16-hour ones. Its been 8.5 years of togetherness, and we've never been so sure of something and decided to get married. So it took a friend request, 8 years of long-distance, virtual dates, and a strong belief in our love to be where we are today.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We used to talk a lot, became friends, and realized we are dating each other. We've traveled a lot together including visiting the most romantic place in this world - Paris and he still hasn't proposed, but there's no way he's getting out of this - I'm still waiting for it and it's got to be fondue-levels of cheesiness!.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had about 3 months roughly in our hands to plan the entire wedding and choose the vendors. I have my little puppy and wanted to make sure he was allowed at the venue. After a lot of research, we found Regal Banquets, NJ that allowed my puppy inside the venue. Since it was a fusion wedding, we went with the western formal theme of dresses and suits. My mom is a professional hair & makeup artist so I knew I wanted her to do my hair and make-up. My outfit was picked from India and his outfit was from Hugo Boss and Burberry. We decided for the Dholi at the last minute and luckily he was available. My husband didn't want a layered cake so we went with three different flavored cakes - chocolate, pineapple, carrot set next to each other. I knew the DJ beforehand from my other parties, and he knew the taste of music we had and stuck to it. My aunt officiated our wedding, which made it special. It was all my parents and my husband who finalized everything for the D-Day because I was in medical school. All in all I would say, we were happy and thankful to the vendors for helping us get through the day.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I was in medical school and couldn't go to India so my parents and aunt went to Mumbai, India to shop for the wedding dress. As a child, I always wanted a Sabyasachi outfit. Since this was a fusion wedding, I decided to go the non-traditional way and opt for a gown with a long trail and veil. I was definitely hesitant to go with the purple color because it's not often you see this on brides, but after a lot of convincing, I chose the deep purple color. I saw the outfits over FaceTime and trusted my mom and aunt for sizing and other minor details.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
With limited time in hand and me not being around, we had to do everything quickly, but the most lovable part was disclosing the wedding announcements to our family and friends.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We had the dholi at the wedding to which people danced. He entertained all the guests and to a point everyone was on the dance floor.

Was there a really special moment at your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Unlike most Indian weddings, we decided to have a small fusion wedding with 50 people for now with just our close friends and family who flew from different destinations. It made the ceremony more special and meaningful and we got to spend time and enjoy with our loved ones. We danced on the song Raabta, which is our song from our dating days.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
A day before the ceremony we had a Couple's Shower and Mehendi at my parent's backyard. It was a Hawaiian theme so we decorated everything with leaves, shacks, and coconuts. The guests were in summer floral shirts and dresses. Vishesh and I opted to wear something indowestern to stand out in the crowd. I opted for floral jewelry to go with my outfit. We had games, dancing, cake cutting, and live BBQ.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
It will all be fine. Just take a deep breathe in. Relax and go with the flow and enjoy the moment because you're not going to have it back again.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I opted for the wedding jewelry from Tyaani Jewelry by Karan Johar in Mumbai, India. It is a real polki set with uncut diamonds in baby pink and for my hands, I opted to wear my grandmother's heritage gold bangles. For the cake, we did fresh edible orchids that matched the decor and our outfits. Since it was a fusion wedding, we had the garland exchange ceremony, kanyadaan, and a sand ceremony - a tradition we decided to go for where I put a color of sand and Vishesh put his color of sand to signify our individuality and together we put a third color of sand to signify us coming together and blending in with each other.

Have a great rest of the day, darlings, and don't forget to join us tomorrow for more!

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Texpertz Photography

Good morning, beauty queens! We are right in the middle of this week, and what better way to start this Wednesday than taking a look at all the beauty surrounding Mehreen & Hussain's real-life fairytale. So, let's not wait any longer and jump right into it! Right from the start, we have to say that today's wedding affair packs tons of beauty, love, and traditional flair, so you can imagine how thrilled we were when we laid our eyes into the magnificent shots captured by Texpertz Photography. From all pre-wedding events, including a colorful Mehndi celebrated at the Crystal Banquet Hall, to the closing gala, everything was perfect! One of the most anticipated moments was the magical wedding ceremony hosted inside the halls of the Courtyard Dallas DFW Airport North/Grapevine. Still, what we loved the most was the enchanting reception party that bring the wedding festivities to an end. The interiors of the reception venue, completely transformed into a mesmerizing backdrop filled with elegance and traditional flair thanks to the marvelous decor put together by none other than the talented team from Events by Faiza. They took our lovebirds' vision of a dream wedding and made it a dream come true. Although the decor was something to die for, it was our gorgeous Maharani Mehreen who stole the show after being pampered by Sarah Aasif Artistry. The exquisite makeup and the classy hairstyle praised this Maharani's natural beauty and complemented to perfection with the artistic Mehndi design by Samira's Henna Designs! Hands down, a fabulous look that exceeded all expectations! Going back to the party, all we have to say is that it was an epic one! And how could it not be if it was entirely animated by DJ RubyRu, who owned the stage and played the hits of the moment that set the dancefloor on fire! All guests danced the night away, and the only time the dancing stopped was to take a bite at the sweet and mouth-melting cake baked by C. Marie's Sweets! If you can't get enough of this lovely couple and want to take a closer look at their fabulous celebration of love, don't miss the jaw-dropping gallery captured that we have prepared for you. Every single shot is an absolute visual delight that you don't want to miss, so go check them all out. We are sure you will love them!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We were introduced through a mutual friend and hit it off instantly during our first brunch date at Saint Ann's in Dallas. Like they say, "When you know, you know!"
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Being a huge macaron lover, I was told to doll up as we were going to a macaron baking class along with a fancy dinner for date night. We reached an abandoned location known as Off the Grid and made our way inside. I was confused, but with each step, I noticed roses and candles and that's when I pieced it all together. Once we reached the roof, his sweet friends surprised us. I was in shock from not only seeing them, but from seeing the beautiful Dallas skyline. I, then turned to Hussain and noticed he was on one knee and well, *cue water works* - you know what happens next!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We managed to plan and coordinate every single thing with the help of our family and friends. Though it was stress inducing and time consuming, we wanted to relish in the experience of wedding planning. And when it all came together, we were that much happier!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Considering our culture has multiple events, I knew I wanted a different color palette for each one. For the wedding, I kept it traditional, but different. I wanted a three-tone outfit as that's what was said to be "in." My hot pink kameez, blood-red gharara, and maroon dupatta gave me just what I wanted - shoutout to Annus Abrar!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Coming to an agreement on venues, outfits, the cake, all of it!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests were blown away! From the decor to the cake to the food to the timely manner of the each event, they were left speechless.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The entirety of it was filled with several special moments, but during our first dance was when it all came together. As I was swaying with my husband, I was glancing around and thought "this is it!"
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take it easy! Make a list and strike out one item at a time. It always come together in the end!!!

Babylon, NY Indian Wedding by A.S. Nagpal Photography

Good morning, darlings! Can you believe how fast this week slipped through our fingers? It seems like we went from Monday to Friday in just the blink of an eye! And you know that we always have something special for you to start getting ready for the weekend, and today is no exception! This time around, we are excited to share with you all the beauty and intimacy that surrounded Sheetal & Varun's wedding celebration. Initially, these lovebirds planned to get married in the paradisiacal landscapes of Mexico, in a big wedding bash with over 300 guests. However, due to the emergence of COVID-19, plans had to change. Sheetal & Varun decided to keep the same wedding date they initially had, and instead of having a huge celebration, they had a small and intimate pooja in Sheetal's backyard. To comply with the safety measurements regarding social distancing, only 10 people attended the wedding. Still, over 400 people were celebrating along with the newlyweds as the wedding streamed via Zoom. All guests and online viewers enjoyed every single moment of the celebration and were utterly amazed by the ravishing look of our gorgeous Maharani. She wore the same wedding lengha her mother used for her wedding, and if that doesn't say tradition and love, few things will! The cherry on top of this gorgeous bridal look was the artistic Mehndi outlined by Henna For All, which added an extra touch of flair to an already swoon-worthy look! We know that planning a wedding is not easy, let alone plan a wedding ceremony under the current circumstances! So we want to make a big shoutout to Stylish Events for the perfect planning, decor, and execution of this intimate wedding affair. The attention to detail they had was outstanding, resulting in a dreamy celebration that exceeded all of Sheetal & Varun's expectations. Check more of this lovely celebration by taking a look at the fabulous shots captured by A.S. Nagpal Photography in today's marvelous gallery! It is the perfect preamble for you to get ready for a weekend full of love and inspiring ideas!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Vinnie calls me early Saturday morning on July 13, 2020 asking if I wanted to go to Fire Island with his family for lunch. I said sure, so he said okay I will be at your house at noon be ready. Of course he shows up and as usual I am still in PJ's watching Food Network, and he is yelling we are going to miss the Ferry! I said why are we going so early, and all the way to Fire Island for just lunch. Vinnie says his family wants to see Fire Island, and mentions since we love Fire Island, why not meet them and show them around. So I got ready, and we were on our way to meet them. ( Of course, I took forever curling my hair and made us miss the 12 o'clock ferry he had planned with everyone)

We get to the dock, and we continue to walk to the boat, and Vinnie says "Let's sit on the top, its so nice out" and I am no way ready to sit on the top of this boat after I just did my hair for the past hour, as he explains "who sits downstairs when its such a beautiful day!" So I finally agreed and we sit on the top of the ferry and we are now on our way to Ocean Beach. We are enjoying the breeze and all of a sudden the boat completely stops! I look over to Vinnie and say, I think there is a problem with the Ferry, its not moving! He looks at me and says calm down "I'm sure everything is fine", then I hear the anchor drop, and now I begin to PANIC!

I look over to Vinnie, and see him down on one knee, the captain on the loud speaker announcing our engagement and congratulating us! Everyone is screaming and clapping for us and WE ARE NOW ENGAGED !

We port at the dock, and are welcomed by photographers, and then walk over to meet our family for lunch. I couldn't be happier! But that wasn't even close to being over, Vinnie got over 100 of our closest family & friends to surprise ME his fiance for a FRIEND's themed Engagement Party! We continued to celebrate all day & night with everyone we loved surrounding us!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We planned to have all the big brands for our wedding ! Everything is still pending, but for our 5/15/20 quarantine wedding I was so lucky to wear my mom's wedding lehenga! It was amazing to see how beautiful it was after 35 years !

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Though this time is very chaotic and stressful, and we cant have the dream weddings we planned when this process started. Sit back, and think to yourself, what would be your perfect memory with these circumstances, and then do everything in your power to make the vision come to light!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I am so thankful to all my wonderful vendors, that went above and beyond for me during the Covid Lock down ! Mehndi in the garage, my photographer wore a mask for the entire ceremony and photo shoot, my decor company came to my house the day before, and morning of to avoid the chances of rain, everyone went above and beyond to make my day beautiful!

We hope you have an awesome weekend in the company of your loved ones. Stay safe, and don't forget to join us on Monday for more!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Senior year of high school, a friend of mine was at my house in mid March. We were 17 and thinking about prom. Who we wanted to go with, what color we would wear, when is the earliest we could go shopping for a dress. That same day, my friend used my phone to call her friend Shivam. He had gotten into a minor car accident earlier that day.

The next day (now having his phone number), I decided to text and check up on him. From that moment on, we didn’t stop talking. And nearly 12 years later here we are!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
This may sound crazy, but in hindsight, I planned our wedding around the three layer pearl and gold necklace I wore on my wedding day. My Nana Jaan (maternal grandfather) gifted it to my mother and she wore it on her wedding day. From the moment I saw it, I could see myself walking towards my future husband wearing something that is so special to me. Because of the style of the necklace, I knew I wanted our wedding to be very traditional, classy, and slightly Mughal.

I’m shocked at how everything fell into place so perfectly. We picked the Marigold as our wedding venue exactly six months before the reception date and the mehndi venue just three months before the event date. Then came my clothes.

For my makeup, I had reached out to Mona Chebli and Priyanka Babariya. Mona has done nearly all my friends wedding makeups in the past, and Priyanka has done my makeup for a photo shoot years ago so I knew I could trust them both. One thing I am happy about is choosing two different makeup and hair stylists. Mona loves a very glowy, shimmery, ethereal look which worked out perfectly for my mehndi hair and makeup, while Priyanka knew exactly what I wanted when all I told her was “dark brown smoked out sultry eyes and a neutral lip”. Kinza Amer is another person I blindly trusted to do my reception hair. I showed her just one picture five minutes before getting started and I couldn’t have asked for a better look.

Lastly, our decor was done by Partyland Sajawat. It is run by a mother-daughter team. Sachi is the extremely creative daughter. She's all about new concepts and not reusing old designs. We wanted the three arches and she had them custom made for us exactly how we wanted. Sachi did the most elaborate work compared to other decorators and she actually took the time to sketch out our vision, whereas the others just scrolled through their photo albums to show us what they've done in the past. Our decor was 100% customized by us and Sachi.

Our overall experience was not so bad considering we chose to plan three big events in just six months and we proudly did it all on our own, without a planner. We are lucky to have amazing friends and family who helped with so many of the little details that helped in a tremendous way.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
For the mehndi lehnga, I chose to go with Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. I chose each of the three pieces separately and the end result was simply stunning. My earrings were from BlossomBox which had arrived just the morning of the event! And the matha patti and jade ring were borrowed from my childhood friend and maid of honor.

My reception gown was much harder to select. I had seen a beautiful mauve pink shade that I loved and knew that it would look beautiful as a fitted gown with a long train, covered in silver bead work. After rummaging through countless websites, Instagrams and Facebook pages of designers, I reached out to Marium from @theluxurious786. I was a little apprehensive to trust someone with my reception gown, but Marium came with rave reviews. I sent Marium the style I wanted along with the mauve shade and from that minute on I blindly trusted her to work her magic. The gown was exactly what I had hoped for and the intricate beadwork was exquisite.

Both my mehndi lehnga and reception gown came on the Wednesday before the weekend of our events, which could be quite stressful, but I know in the end everything works out if it’s meant to, and in this case it did!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Customizing absolutely everything! When does one ever get a chance to have a 450 person event where every detail is created by them? I grew up drawing and painting and I now create custom cakes as a creative outlet. From making mehndi thaalis to sketching my wedding gown, every detail of our wedding screamed Shaza & Shivam. Working together to create the wedding of our dreams was an incredible process.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take a second during your wedding to step back from the friends and family and photographs and take it all in. All those months of planning go by in the blink of an eye. Don’t sweat the little details, and give people the benefit of the doubt when you think they’re not stepping up to help you.

More coming down the road, so stay tuned!
