Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Mir Anwar Studios

Romance and sophistication took center stage for Urvi and Sunny’s festive Dallas Indian wedding soiree. We can't think of a better way to start out your morning than reliving this adorable couple’s festive and inspiring celebration. Such a stellar series of events. For her mehndi, Maharani Urvi got dolled up by the draping and styling team at JJ Drapes, who dressed her up in a floaty pink and aquamarine lehenga. The bride donned a shiny maang tikka and dangling earrings that channeled her inner Maharani. Samira's Henna Designs adorned her hands and feet with oodles of mesmerizing mehndi, transforming her into the picture perfect Indian bride. We’re loving all the sweet, smiling mehndi photos of this darling Maharani! Perfectly matching Urvi’s bridal garb was the dazzling decor at the SLPS venue dreamed up the artists at Elegant Affair South West. Intricate pink and blue draping, an elaborate stage setup, and plenty of sparkling accents elevated the spacious venue to a colorful oasis. DJ Riz Entertainment took center stage to play their bouncing beats, providing Urvi with plenty of entertainment as she was adorned in henna. Such a fun way to kick off the festivities! Mir Anwar Studios captured all the charming photos which you can find in the full gallery. When we return, we’ll dive into all the beautiful ceremony deets!

The party blasted off to a whole new stratosphere of fun when Kiran and Travis’ spectacular reception shindig at The Meadow Club began! The couple bounded into the grand reception to cheers from their adoring guests. The venue was an elegant masterpiece, filled with whimsical yet lux touches by Towers Flowers, Divine Stylz, and Malkmes Florists that made the ambiance warm and romantic. This talented couple immediately put on their dancing shoes and performed a lovely first dance that had the crowd going wild. After a toast, vibrant program, and savory bites, the couple was raring to let loose! This adorable duo LOVE to dance, and Veer Entertainment led the charge with euphoric beats, with the couple requesting an eclectic mix of tunes. We want to get up and sashay out of our chair after viewing these pics. We’re so thrilled that these two had such an incredible celebration worthy of their epic love story! The couple told us, God put us in each other's paths, and through all of our trials and tribulations, we have come out stronger. We are so blessed and thankful to be able to spend the rest of our lives with each other and cannot wait to celebrate our union with our family and friends who have been supporting us in this journey the past 9 years.” Relive the action in the full gallery by My Wedding Way. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, Prince Charming (Trav) stumbled across his soulmate (Kiran) in the crowded halls of Baruch College. Okay, seriously not your ordinary fairytale but it comes pretty darn close! Our love was truly meant to be.

Late in 2007, Kiran entered Baruch College as a freshman, and quickly became involved on campus. One day, she walked out of the Vertical Campus, wearing a yellow top, black leggings, and sandals surrounded by people. Trav thought to himself "She's cute! But it won't happen." However, life had other plans lined up for him.

Kiran and Trav ended up at the same United Sikh Association meeting, where they spoke for almost 30 minutes. Those 30 minutes seemed surreal as if no one else in the room existed and it was only the 2 of them, something just clicked for both of them. They exchanged phone numbers right away and continued their conversation through text... A LOT. The phone bills the next few months were quite long and costly, to their parents' dismay!

Kiran insisted on seeing Trav outside of campus so she attended his Bhangra competition - and that was pretty much love at first dance move for her (She LOVES dancing). She decided it was time for Trav to take her out, and even though he played hard to get, she persuaded him into hanging out before she left for New Orleans for a service trip/class for a month. Well, Trav did not disappoint and took her to their soon to be favorite Thai restaurant near campus, Jai Ya and a beautiful Broadway show, Queens Boulevard. She was absolutely smitten, and left for New Orleans on Cloud 9. They continued their obnoxious thousands of text messages a day while she was away, and realized this was going to be for the long haul. Trav officially asked Kiran out "7 days from February 7th" (so mysterious), and they celebrated their first Valentine's Day together as a couple .... Little did they know, 9 years later they would be writing their love story for their upcoming wedding.

God put us in each other's paths, and through all of our trials and tribulations, we have come out stronger. We are so blessed and thankful to be able to spend the rest of our lives with each other and cannot wait to celebrate our union with our family and friends who have been supporting us in this journey the past 9 years.

And this is only the beginning of their fairytale for Mr. & Mrs. Ramkissoon...

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

Choosing my bridal outfit was certainly the most challenging part of my planning experience. I knew that I wanted signature pieces of my outfit to stand out after doing extensive research online - such as the belt, double chunni and an ombre effect. It was difficult to find something that had all of these pieces in one perfect outfit, especially made with the right fit for someone as petite and short as me. Realizing the challenges we were having, we took my request to a designer and seamstress in Bombay, India and got the wedding gown of my dreams made! It arrived only a week before my wedding which gave us all quite the anxiety and stress, but when I put it on for the first time, all of that was worth it because it was everything I dreamed of and more.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Don't forget to meet our newest Platinum Guide members!:

The most enjoyable part of the planning process was designing my wedding logo, my bridal party bags and my wedding programs. I love designing on Photoshop so being able to do it for our own wedding, something we had dreamed of for almost a decade, seeing it come to life through all of our details was so magical.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

One really special moment that I constantly think about is the night before the wedding when all the women of the family prepared me to officially be a bride by performing a braid ceremony, cleaning and prepping my Henna, bathing me and doing a prayer. It was such an emotional evening, but the love in the room was so strong and it is so hard to forget everything that was going through my mind at the moment. It was so special and surreal to be surrounded by family members from all over the world, preparing me for the biggest day of my life.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

The week long celebrations were all so different from each other, which was our favorite part. We started off with our Ring Ceremony, which was a New York City theme since that is where we met in College. We did a very bold theme with edgy colors: black, white, and deep red. Our Mehndi/Sangeet was an Afghan theme since my side of the family is originated from Afghanistan so we had very colorful, bright decor, and traditional afghan Attan performances. Our Reception was done as an Enchanted Forest theme with lots of greens and flowers all over the room, and highlighting more of my husband's Caribbean roots as he is from Trinidad. We wanted our themes to represent something important to each of us and we believe our fairytale love story was brought to life through our festivities.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Have fun! Enjoy every single moment, because this time does not come back. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the small details, however the most important thing is spending time with the people who flew so far away for your special day, and looking into your husband’s eyes at any moment you can in between the chaos and realizing you’re going to spend the rest of your life with your soulmate and realize how magical that is.

We hope you loved that celebration as much as we did! Don't forget to meet our newest Platinum Guide members!:

We’ve finally arrived at the big moment! We adored witnessing Kiran ready herself for the biggest day of her life, and she was a dazzling sight to behold. Her jewel adorned lehenga glittered and shined from every angle, and we believe this is one of a kind couture piece is one of the most gorgeous and unique wedding lehengas we’ve ever seen. The lovebirds had an emotional first look on the grounds of The Meadow Club, and bright sunshine added to their bridal glow. Kiran and Travis were wed in a refreshing Sikh ceremony, and Travis’ heart skipped a beat as his beautiful bride made her way down the aisle, dolled up to perfection by Beauty by Tamanna and  Bridal Butterflies. The sentimental ceremony sealed the deal, and the duo were thrilled to be pronounced husband and wife! The fun continues with the duo’s glam reception soiree with vivacious entertainment by Veer Entertainment. Divine Stylz, Malkmes Florists, and Towers Flowers jazzed the space up with their artistic flourishes, and the ambiance was uplifting and perfectly suited for this charming duo. We are thrilled to share the love tale of the delightful couple of Kiran and Travis. Their story began at a United Sikh Association meeting, where they spoke for the first time. Those first 30 minutes of conversation seemed surreal, as if only the two of them existed in the room. They exchanged phone numbers right away and continued their conversation through text. A LOT of texts. The phone bills the next few months were quite long and costly, much to their parents' dismay! But in the end it was worth it, since these two are true soul mates. Their fabulous Indian wedding was a sensational affair, overflowing with dazzle and love. Kiran is a Banquet Manager and Event Planner at The Meadow Club, and her skills truly shined. We can see the care and style put into every part of this wedding. Their festivities kicked off with a bang at their rainbow hued sangeet decorated with aplomb by Divine Stylz, Malkmes Florists, and Towers Flowers. After being glammed by Beauty by Tamanna's and Bridal Butterflies magic brushes, her sun kissed makeup and thick, flower adorned braid were pure perfection. The night was a mesmerizing blend of festive tunes by Veer Entertainment and delicious bites! Coming right up is all the emotional ceremonial action, so hurry back. Glendale, CO Sikh Wedding By Kokoro Photography

Welcome back lovebirds! We’ve finally reached Manjit and Gurdeep’s reception celebration, and have no doubt that memories of this stunning day will be forever etched in the couple’s heart. The bride changed out of her classic red lehenga for a breezy and fresh mint green gown that fit her like a glove. Raindrops On Roses Event Planners returned as the duo’s incredible wedding coordinator, and executed an aviation themed reception event that was a sight to behold! DNM Events was the premier decorator of the reception ballroom at the Infinity Event Center and romantic euphoria took center stage with crystal centerpieces, celestial inspired uplighting, and tons of golden ornamentation, including a lavish jhoola swing and pillars adorning the sweetheart stage. The stunning newlyweds kicked off the night with a romantic first dance under the mesmerizing blue lights. Guests were delighted at the decadent bites, including the towering, mouthwatering cake by Astonishing Cakes. Soon it was time for guests to dance the night away, led by Manjit and Gurdeep, who are both incredible dancers! An abundance of love and laughter rang into the early morning hours as the newlyweds and their guests had the time of their lives. Kokoro Photography captured all the joyous moments that you can relive in our full gallery.
