Miami, FL Indian Wedding by Sugarfree Studio

Hello, loves! It's time to dive into Archna & Quinn's romantic wedding! The Penthouse at Riverside Wharf was the perfect venue, with breathtaking views and a modern, chic design. Mariane Fahmy from Tres Chic Event Planning was the backbone of the wedding, handling every aspect of the planning and design process with exceptional professionalism and attention to detail. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every part of the wedding was executed perfectly, from the color scheme and decor to the table settings and lighting. She went above and beyond to ensure the wedding reflected the couple's style and personality, creating a truly personalized experience for this couple. Her ability to turn her client's vision into reality is unmatched, and her exceptional service and creativity set them apart in the industry. A Creation by Mario's stunning floral arrangements and mandap made of tropical flowers in soft pink, white, and orange hues added the perfect touch of romance and sophistication, with every bloom perfectly placed to create a visual masterpiece. Archna looked gorgeous in her outfit, with hair and makeup by Dayana Denis that enhanced her natural beauty. The intricate mehndi by Sumaiya Waheed was a true masterpiece. Palace Indian Cuisine's flavorful dishes left guests raving about the food for days, with their expertly prepared and beautifully presented meals. Guests were treated to individual key lime pies and flan, adding a touch of Miami to the dessert table to cap off the evening. DJ Pavan kept the energy high, with guests dancing the night away to his electrifying beats, with his extensive knowledge of music and ability to read the crowd to keep everyone dancing all night long. He seamlessly transitioned between genres and kept the energy high throughout the wedding, ensuring everyone had a great time. Archna & Quinn surprised their guests with a delivery of Cuban sandwiches and empanadas from Versailles, ending the night with a bang. Sugarfree Studio's photography captured every wedding moment, from the joyous moments during the bhangra performance to the laughter-filled reception. Enjoy the gallery below!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Quinn and I met online like many modern day couples. Our first date was trivia, where we won best small team. We have continued to go back to the same spot for trivia over the years, and have placed every time we've gone!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Quinn proposed at the location of our first hike, which was a memorable experience given that we got lost and ended up climbing up the side of a very steep hill. He felt it represented our relationship, as together we have successfully navigated many ups and downs. He also flew my brother in as a surprise for the weekend and coordinated a celebration with our loved ones upon our return.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had a fairly quick engagement (four months), with three months of active planning. We could not have done it without our wedding planner, Mariane Fahamy. We had actually met with a couple other planners who were very skeptical of finding a venue in the short time period we had. Mariane was confident we could find a great venue and put together a wedding to remember. She helped make our vision a reality, with an amazing penthouse view of downtown Miami. The florals and decorations leaned into our Miami/tropical theme. It also helped that she had coordinated Indian/fusion weddings before, as she was prepared for the nuances of the ceremony.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I was lucky enough to go to India with my mom to do our shopping. I was there for less than a week and we fit in shopping in between my cousin's wedding and visiting family. We both love intricate, traditional beadwork and embroidery along with rich jewel tones. My lengha for the reception was navy blue with heavy zardozi work. For the wedding ceremony, I wore two different Kanjivaram sarees-- one was a traditional red and the other turquoise blue. We traveled to Kancheepuram from Chennai and spent 8 hours in the same shop! We got the vast majority of our wedding clothes for our families there.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Figuring out ways to personalize the experience, such as creating a trivia game for the welcome dinner, ordering cuban food as a late night snack, and honoring our families with photos of various members at their weddings.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our venue was fairly unique for an Indian wedding-- dancing outside in front of the Miami skyline was pretty magical. Also, for the wedding, my dad roped in my family members into making individual snack boxes with tons of food including individually packaged uttapam to tide people's hunger during the morning ceremony. We also served chiled coconut water during the ceremony to help keep people cool .

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My dad and I did not choreograph our dance, but it turned out great! Our dance styles are surprisingly aligned.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Quinn and I surprised our guests with a surprise bhangra performance to a Mi Gente Bhangra remix following our first dance to Etta James' "A Sunday Kind of Love" (we got married on a Sunday).

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Quinn and I knew it would be hard to get everything we wanted for our wedding. We made a list of all of our preferences and decided on the top 3-4 that we weren't willing to compromise on. That helped us remember our priorities when there were so many decisions to make.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Instead of a cake, we leaned into our Miami setting and had mini key lime pies and individual-sized flan. Instead of a traditional program, we printed the description of the ceremony on the back of a hand fan.

Darlings, I hope you enjoyed today’s entry. Keep coming back for more happy endings and tips!

Anaheim, CA Gujarati Wedding by Avec Lumiere Productions

Hello ladies! Ready for your daily dose of inspiration? I hope you do because we have Shalini and Neil's incredible wedding highlight video captured by Avec Lumiere Productions. This California-based couple carefully planned with the help of Events by Sep. All the events that formed these nuptials displayed unique themes and elegant decors that turned into authentic feasts for the eyes! I love the cherry blossom backdrop of their pre-wedding functions and the pink Sangeet theme. So romantic! The couple chose the great Delta Hotels by Marriott as the location for their dream wedding. Here, Raja Neil started their final event with an energetic Baraat procession entering the ceremony to the beat of Fusion Sounds. After a fun Varmala ceremony, the wedding rituals took place under a stunning acrylic mandap created by Kismet Event Design. The decor crew showed off his talent by creating a dazzling white and gold scenery that was opulent yet elegant. They truly gave this two a decor they will never forget. The evening quickly transitioned into a magical night with mesmerizing violet lightning designed by Fusion Sounds. They also created a perfect music set that took the crowd into a dance frenzy that lasted all night! Remember ladies, hit play on this beautiful highlight film by Avec Lumiere Productions. You won't regret it.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I knew he was the one when I first came down to Pittsburgh only to have a delayed flight! I was supposed to come in at 6 pm and instead came home at midnight. When I walked in he had this whole dinner at home set up, with plates and red napkins and candles! He even cooked the perfect meal!

What I thought would be a fancy lunch date on top of the mountain turned out to be the man of my dreams popping the question! Somehow he got me dressed up, got my nails done, and got to on a gondola without any suspicion. When he got to the location on the top, I saw the proposal set up, and I said to him, "Oh, look, someone is getting proposed to; we can't go there" I tried to stop him many many times from going closer and closer to the site. It clicked to me when the violist started playing the Wada Raha song that this proposal was for me! He proposed, and everyone around the site cheered, and then 5 mins later our whole family showed up! Literally all of them from all over the states!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I started planning in the middle of COVID, thinking it would go away. But all of my vendors were really nice and willing to work with me. We originally had a July date, but due to restrictions in other countries, we had to push back our date to December. Our vendors were flexible in making the change without any issues. I started off booking my make-up artist Drea first! We only had our date at this point. Then I went on to book my venue and wedding planner at the same time. The rest fell in place one by one!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
This was really hard since I was not able to go to India and new outfits were not coming to the states. I knew I wanted to wear red. The first store we went to was Frontier in LA. I tried on a few but really fell in love with one of them. But I knew I should try more when I went to NY and NJ. So a few months later I went around and tried on more, sometimes I tried them on just to entertain myself and see if I liked anything I wore! But all I could think of was that outfit I really liked. The week after I told my mom to just go purchase the one I really liked and she face timed me and we bought it!
I also wanted to wear my mom's wedding sari or try to incorporate it into my outfit somehow! The final look didn't come together till the week before but I decide to wear it with a white choli as my baarat outfit. This was super special because my mom and I did a little welcome dance as well.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They all said they loved the food and coming to California even though the weather wasn't the best!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Every time I look at our highlight video all of the memories just rush in now! I think the most fun I had was during our pithi and sangeet night. We did a flash mob during the sangeet and it was the most amazing thing ever that came together!
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Pithi: The theme for this event was Capri/lemon. The team did an amazing job making the ganpathi in various blue sea items!
Satak: The idea was to go with something peaceful and serenity. So we decided to do a lotus in the background with cherry trees coming from the side.
Sangeet: The theme was Jaipur. I called this event Pink City Soriee on our invites.
Wedding: All white with greenery
Reception: I wanted to bring back a little bit of the proposal to bring in a full circle of this time period. We added a mountain decal on our dance floor with red and purple flowers through out the backdrop and tables.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy it all! Try not to worry too much about small details and small fights with your parents. Go with the flow and enjoy it because it won't come again.

Dearborn, MI Indian Wedding by Sky Films and Productions

Hello, sweeties! We are starting this fabulous week, and there is no better way to do it than taking a look at all the amazingness surrounding Annie & Sammi's big wedding festivities. They consider themselves lucky since they were able to enjoy their functions. This was only possible because they landed the best teams in town, including celebrity DJs, the best wedding planning in the Midwest, and a caterer their guests are still talking about. So, let's not wait any longer and jump right into it! Right from the start, we have to say that this whimsical wedding ceremony was a cornucopia of beauty, love, and traditional flair thanks to Formatic Events was the mastermind behind the planning, execution, and decoration of this wedding hosted inside the halls of the Henry Hotel. Although the decor was something to die for, our Annie stole all the looks after being pampered by Hair By Ayasha and Jahura Hobby Makeup. The incredible makeup and classy hairstyle are perfect for creating a gorgeous look for this Maharani! All the guests witnessed the incredible skills, talent, and expertise of Radhe Henna through the beautiful Mehendi design that our lovely Annie had. The final artwork was simply impressive! After the wedding ceremony, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds with a vibrant reception party animated by none other than DJ Ice & Fresh Productions. They owned the stage! They played the best Bollywood hits that put everyone to dance! When dinner arrived, all the guests enjoyed a complete culinary experience prepared by the talented Punjab Sweets, who served mouth-melting plates that left everyone speechless! If you want to see this fabulous celebration of love, don't miss the jaw-dropping gallery captured by the talented Sky Films and Productions. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
As two modern American-Indian individuals, we love telling people that we actually met Shaadi.com! In April 2019, Sammi introduced himself online and instantly had me laughing with his cheesy space-themed pickup lines. As a big Disney fan, I knew he was the one when I realized he was a real-life Prince Charming. Sammi is a big strong muscle man with a heart of a softie who loves my family as much as his own, who could ask for anything more?
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
A FAIRY TALE PROPOSAL!
In February 2020, Sammi planned an unforgettable vacation to Italy. We spent a week enjoying concerts, museums, architecture, and fantastic food in Rome and Venice.  At St. Mark's Square, Sammi suddenly got down on one knee and proposed under the backdrop of one of the most stunning basilicas in the world.  He even had a photographer in the wings to capture the moment and a reservation at the famous Cafe Florian (the oldest coffeehouse in the world) with finger sandwiches and facetime calls to our waiting families!
The week he proposed, Italy began their cancelations of trains and flights in the county due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  We quickly got out of the country before the shutdown. His proposal came at the exact perfect time, we ended up enjoying a long 2-year engagement as we battled the pandemic together and rescheduled our wedding 3 times!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We consider ourselves really lucky to be one of the few couples that were able to really enjoy our functions. This was only possible because we were able to land the best teams in town with our vendors including celebrity DJs, the best wedding planning in the Midwest, and a caterer our guests are STILL talking about.  We wanted a fairy tale celebration that paid homage to both cultures and the places we were raised.  I'm so touched that over 200 people flew across the country to Michigan to celebrate our union.  We're happy to embrace our heritage as well as our hometowns.  My groom got into the theme of Detroit's Motor City and arrived at his baraat in a classic Ford Model T instead of a horse!
There are 2 vendors that stand out:
WEDDING PLANNER - Formatic Events
Sukh Syan of Formatic Events gets the majority of the credit for planning our epic events. She's the only wedding planner that could organize a Texen Gurjati/Motor City Punjabi event of the season! She not only landed the most gorgeous venues in the city but was able to incorporate our personalities into our events. Our Sangeet colors paid homage to Sammi's love for Texas football and our reception captured my love for all things glam, glitter, and gold!
DJ - DJ Ice & Fresh Productions
As big fans of Punjabi music, we had to hire a team that traveled the globe with a host of celebrities.   The music was one of my favorite parts of the wedding weekend. Our DJ created so much hype - complete with a dance battle, a live dhol player, and a light-up dance floor.  SO MUCH FUN!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
There is a famous Manish Malhotra lehenga that depicts a wedding story.  I immediately called my Masi in Delhi who caters to a couture client base.  I asked if she would create an outfit that depicted my culture and my wedding story on a lehenga.  She made it happen!  A Punjabi bride and a Gujarati groom doing the Garba are some of the designs sewn into the bridal lehenga.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was actually also the most stressful.  Due to the pandemic, we rescheduled the festivities 3 times (over a two-year period)! We ended up having 2 years of extra time to build on the planning and our dreams and planning just got bigger and bigger.  We were able to include friends and family in the planning over the years.  It was so fun to spend time together coming up with dishes that would be a hit to serve or the perfect glamourous backdrop for pictures.  The pandemic actually allowed us to savor the planning process.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
It's been a few months since the wedding and folks can still not stop talking about our food. Sammi and I couldn't decide between his favorite, my favorite, or Indian - so we decided to do EVERYTHING! Our sangeet featured traditional bull carts all around the venue with stations of food that included, Pani puri, Bombay grill, Tex-Mex, Tandoori, Chaat, and fresh Kulfi.  Servers were even dressed in matching turbans at each station to give it a real “India” feel!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
With so much time sitting in the hair and makeup chair before events, some of the sweetest and happiest moments actually occurred outside of the actual events.  I wanted a space where we could comfortably fit myself, 9 bridesmaids, visitors, and the hair/makeup team. We rented the presidential suite for a few days and it served as a place where out-of-town guests could come visit, people could get ready with me and I could socialize. With the actual events being such a blur, I really appreciated the time to lounge and hang out with loved ones.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
My mehndi was probably one of my favorite ceremonies.  My parents converted their home into the feel of an outdoor tent as if we were in a farmhouse in India.  Decorations were completed with backdrops, marigold garlands, and Rajasthani statues. The feel of the ambiance created was really cool and our guests really enjoyed the Bollywood vibe.  Felt like being on set for a movie!  We included my groom’s whole extended family in the celebrations.  It was one of the few times the families had a chance to spend time together and catch up.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Savor your wedding planning process despite the stress and hardships.  It is SO worth it in the end and I promise it will be more beautiful than you could even imagine.
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Thank you for allowing me to share my special week with you! Your site gives brides so much inspiration and really helped connect me to my culture. I draw so much happiness from seeing the best day of people's lives. ❤️

That is all for today! Come back tomorrow to get more inspiration from the romantic stories we have!
