So, let's wait no more and get ready to unveil today's love story featuring Mohni & Balpreet's wedding celebration. We are sure you will love it! We are starting our journey through this fabulous wedding celebration by joining our two lovebirds at their colorful Sangeet held at Royal Albert's Palace. This joyful event was the perfect start for this real-life fairytale, and we absolutely loved Mohni's gorgeous look, featuring an exquisite lengha from Nazranaa. After the pre-wedding events, it was time to head over to the Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara for the Sikh wedding ceremony that united these two in marriage. We are sure that more than one of the guests dropped a tear of joy when seeing our lovely Mohni walking down the aisle! She looked breathtaking in her elegant and fashionable Lengha from Raghav Creations. Ramanpreet Kaur complemented this head-turning look with sleek makeup and hairstyle designs that still have us sighing. And we cannot forget about the incredible Mehndi by Henna by Pallavi, which took Mohni's look to the next level. Without any question, this winning combo provided a well-balanced combination of tradition, elegance, and beauty to the overall look. The final result: A dreamy look that exceeded all expectations! If you want to check more of this sweet couple, head into this gallery for more. The good friends from Prime House Productions shared the shots taken during this event, and we've put them all together for your enjoyment. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
My husband Balpreet and I actually first met through Facebook. Back then Facebook was the main source of social media and the norm of being on the site 24/7. We were both in the middle of our first semester of college and decided to meet up at an event happening nearby. We talked in-person for about 5 minutes but we both left smiling. We haven't stopped talking since!

I don't have an exact time of when I knew my husband was "the one" - I just knew. He became such an important part of my life that I just couldn't not see him in it.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My husband proposed to me in August of 2019! It was actually the day of our rokha, but before the event started he told me to get ready and sent an Uber to my house (which was very far from NYC). We both met around Central Park and walked towards Bethesda Fountain and he got down on one knee and proposed! It was perfect. His brother and sister-in-law were there as well with flowers and he had a photographer ready for an intimate photoshoot after.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Once we were set on a date, we finalized venues immediately. That was our biggest concern. We then sought out after the perfect decorators and DJ within our budgets and had them booked as well. However, we planned on getting married in May of 2020, but the pandemic hit and we had to postpone. Thankfully the second date we chose which was in September of 2020 - things were starting to open up (venues were increasing the amount of people allowed) so it actually worked out. All the venues we had picked for the events were super accommodating and were available for our new date. My hair and makeup artist that I had for all my events actually wasn’t available for the original date so I had to book someone else, but when I found out she was available in September I booked her immediately. Everything fell into place and it was amazing!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I’ve always known that I wanted to wear the traditional deep red to my wedding so I was super excited to go shopping for my wedding outfits in India! The day before my flight was scheduled to depart, all Visas and flights to India were stopped due to the pandemic. It was a huge bummer. It was hard trying to find outfits online in the middle of everything being shutdown.

I was actually scrolling through TikTok when I came across Raghav Designs page - and I remembered I saved one of their videos months ago of a bridal lengha that I fell in love with. I searched for it, found a few more on his page that I liked and sent it to my family in our WhatsApp group. Without telling them which one I absolutely loved, they all chose that exact same one! I contacted them and that was it. It came out perfect.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Planning became hectic because rules and regulations due to the pandemic kept changing weekly. We weren’t sure how everything would pan out, but in the end it all worked out. I think planning the small details with my husband - such as party favors, songs that needed to be played, and helping him choose his outfits were so much fun! Having both our families help plan was such a help! Shopping for jewelry with my three sisters and running errands every other day is what makes all of it so memorable.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I’m pretty sure the highlight of the wedding week for both of our families and friends would have to be our Sangeet night. It was the first wedding in the midst of the pandemic and no one had really seen each other in so long. Mix that with an open bar, good food, and lots of dancing.. no wonder it was a hit!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My favorite part of the wedding was when I walked down the “aisle” with my parents and then seeing Balpreet for the first time after sitting down. I was nervous, but not too nervous, and after seeing him it just went away!

What a great way to start the week! Make sure to join us tomorrow for a new love story.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We first met through a set up by my sister and her friend from high school, who happened to be my now-husband's employee. They thought we would be a perfect match, and they were right! Our first date (despite several last-minute cancellations on my part) was at a speakeasy in NYC. It felt like we knew each other forever. I appreciated his corny jokes and he appreciated my sass. I don't think there was ever a moment I knew Vatsal was the one - our entire relationship felt so natural and just felt like we were always meant to be together.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We were in Morocco on a ten-day vacation. Our final stop in Morocco was the Sahara Desert. Little did I know, but Vatsal had initially made several plans including a beautiful layout and a private photographer, which were all thwarted by last-minute cancellations by the local vendors. This did not stop him, however, and the morning after our stay in the desert, he asked a local man to take our photo on his iPhone at sunrise. As the sun rose over the sand dunes, he got down on one knee, and the proposal was absolutely perfect!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We began planning soon after our engagement and our first stop was to find the venue. The minute we set foot into Westmount Country Club, we fell in love. We felt so at home there, and could picture our wedding there. Bobby from Westmount was with us every step of the way, and even through the pandemic, was able to ease our worries. Everything fell into place after that. The rest of our vendors were chosen similarly, with intuition, and we usually went with our gut reactions. We chose vendors that we felt we meshed well with, and the vendors almost felt like friends (and really were at the end of this process!). Nate and Thanh from Lightyear studios made us feel so comfortable and are true artists - we both feel awkward in front of the camera but we knew Nate and Thanh would put us at ease! They were truly amazing, and their work speaks for itself. Pauline from Flawless by Pauline did my hair and makeup, and was able to help me achieve the clean, light on makeup look that I desired. Dhara from Mehndikalogie did an amazing job with my intricate mehndi. Matt from MDL events made beautiful floral arrangements. DJ Vik and the rest of the M4U events team produced a banging party. And finally, our day-of coordinators led by Arun from Detailed Affairs made our wedding day seamless. Despite being only a day-of coordinator, Arun was with us throughout the month leading up to our wedding, calming our nerves. All our vendors were truly outstanding, and helped us to have a perfect wedding day.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I really wanted a red lehenga, but one with pink accents to make it a little different than the typical wedding lehenga. Because of my work schedule in residency, I was unable to go to India to get my outfits, but my amazing sister looked for me (when she was conveniently getting her own!). Through 2am facetimes, I was able to choose a beautiful red and pink lehenga purchased from Delhi.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Cake tasting - because I have a huge sweet tooth!
In reality, wedding planning can be extremely stressful, but I tried to enjoy the moments I got to spend with Vatsal talking about our wedding. It was exciting to think about our future and spending the rest of our lives together.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The hype and the party! All guests were vaccinated and restrictions in NJ were just lifted, and this was the first time in over a year that many were attending an event. It was so exciting to see family and friends. DJ Vik and the M4U events team put on an amazing party, and our guests were dancing all night!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The first look was the most special moment for me. Neither of us are criers, but we both shed (more than a few) tears when we first saw each other. It was really the only moment we had with just the two of us, and felt so intimate and personal. It was a perfect moment to start the rest of our lives.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our Mehndi night, we wanted a Moroccan themed evening since we got engaged in Morocco. Abdel Habibi Morocco NY was amazing - he brought stunning decor and even went above and beyond to set it up last minute. He made our night so special and so reminiscent of our engagement!
Our sangeet night was held at a local hotel, and was filled with performances by friends and family, and ended with a garba/raas dance that all guests joined!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Easier said than done, but try not to stress about the small things on your wedding day! There were certainly a few things on my day that didn't go as planned, and there will be in yours too, but in the end, ZERO people noticed the things that went "wrong" and only remembered the amazing moments such as walk down the aisle, exchange of garlands, first dance, partying on the dance floor. Don't sweat the small details and try to enjoy every moment, because it's over before you know it.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met through friends. His roommate was my best friends boyfriend (now husband). All 4 of us went out one evening, and both (my husbands and mine) phones were stolen and that’s where our adventure began. We clicked instantly, but kept it pretty casual between us. What started as getting to know one another and becoming friends turned into the most beautiful companionship I could have ever imagined. My life is truly a roller coaster ride, and he’s been through everything with me. A little over a year after we met, something big had happened in my life, and not for the better... I remember calling him and telling him and he dropped everything he was doing to help me get through it. He focused hours and days on end with me, without him I would not have been where I am today. That’s when I knew— I knew he was the one and I wanted to put everything towards making us work.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I’ll let you see it all! It was all a surprise... we had spoken about getting married, involved our parents, but I never thought he would propose to me because it’s not his style. He blew me away with this.. he completely surprised me, and he actually got on one knee which i never thought would happen!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Research research research! I planned the whole wedding in 4 months!

Outfit- my sister helped me. We knew I wanted a fusion outfit, something white and silver to look Arab like but also the desi touch. Republic woman’s wear was an easy yet perfect choice.

Venue: when you know your capacity will be at least 500, you easily narrow venues down! Also, do they allow outside catering ? If it was a no then those venues were out! I spoke to many venues, got lots of quotes and ultimately it was a no brained to go with grand Hyatt Atlanta! It’s absolutely gorgeous, the service was spectacular and the price was unbeatable!

Hair- I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to go with sm hair couture. Never did a trial just went by her pictures.

Makeup: this was a tough one. I didn’t want to pay so much for trails so after narrowing it down to the top 3, I paid for one trial, fell in love and just finalized with Erica Bogart!

Decor/theme: I wanted it to be a fusion wedding! Arab + Pakistani! So I did everything to incorporate both cultures! 2 djs (Arab and desi) A dabke team, and two caterers (Arab and desi)!! Dancing was also very very important to me! We had a traditional dabke team bring us in — it was extremely grand—- we had our first dance in my 25 pound dress without tripping on my train— and we had nonstop 45 mins of choreography dances — truly an amazing outcome!

I did all the planning, however I do not recommend that again! On the day of it was very stressful for me and I should Have had someone help on the day of!

Dj- I had hired two different djs desi and arab.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had the perfect dress! I couldn’t have asked for anything more, I felt like a royal queen.

I wanted it to be fusion— a white dress with a Pakistani touch. My dress had a long train, it was silver and white, we customized it to clip up while I danced because I did not want to change midway through the wedding. My words can’t do justice to what the dress turned out to look like! You have to see it!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The dances!!! I loved the practices, I loved practicing myself! I loved having all my friends, sisters and cousins over to practice! It was absolutely amazing!

The engagement photos was also very fun

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everything!! They can’t stop talking about it! They thought it was the wedding of the century! It felt like a royal wedding to them! From the entrance to the dances they loved it all!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The entrance! That was spectacular! our first dance!

And most of all my dad! My dad was so ecstatic that he could not stop dancing! And he was dancing with me so much, twirling me around .. it was insane!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take a deep breath! I knew the day of things would not go perfect, and I was prepared for that. 20 minutes before the guest walked in the top 2 tiers of the cake fell. My sister called all scared and I said, don’t worry, it is what it is. Just go along with what’s there and we can make it work.

Our 45 minute dance medley was being put together by me while I was getting my hair done!

This will be happening the day of, things will not go as planned or things will be hectic, but the moment I saw my husband and took his hand that was it — it was him and I for the rest of our lives and that’s all that mattered— all my worries were left behind and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. I was thinking everything was going to be downhill from there — but no, it was a wedding beyond anything I’ve ever seen or been involved in.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I planned the wedding in less than 4 months. Final Guest count on the day of was between ~550-600.

Honestly my wedding was amazing, beautiful, elegant . My wedding was a shendi: mehndhi + Shaadi

It was a fun filled event and I could not have asked for anything more! You have to check out the full video! It’s on my Facebook under videos! You’ll see all the amazing dances there— we incorporated Arab songs and desi songs! It was a lot of fun!

Come back tomorrow for more. We have prepared a new fantastic love story just for you!
