Somerset, NJ Indian Wedding by Sky Cinema Films

If weddings were symphonies, Hiral & Chintan’s grand affair was a crescendo of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. It was a celebration so stunning that it could have been lifted straight from a Bollywood dream sequence—only this was real, and it was breathtaking.

Chintan’s baraat? Oh, it wasn’t just an entrance; it was an event. A moment in every sense of the word. Picture this: the rhythmic beats of Awaaz Entertainment setting the tone, a regal horse-drawn carriage from KV Carriage carrying the groom like a modern-day maharaja, and an energy level that could power an entire city. As Chintan made his way toward his bride, guests danced like no one was watching (but let’s be honest—everyone was).

The grandeur of The Imperia by Dhaba set the stage for a luxurious and lively reception. Known for its impeccable service and elegant ambiance, the venue seamlessly blended modern sophistication with traditional charm. It was designed for celebration with twinkling chandeliers casting a warm glow, sweeping floral installations that felt straight out of a fairytale, and a dance floor practically inviting guests to let loose. The spacious banquet hall allowed for a beautifully adorned mandap setup, ensuring every moment felt cinematic, from the grand entrances to the final dance of the night.

The mandap—a breathtaking floral haven created by Mandap Milap—stood like a throne for two souls about to become one. And when Hiral walked in? A collective gasp. Draped in bridal splendor, her ensemble was a masterpiece, glowing under the warm Somerset sky. With Beauty By Shital working her magic on the bride and Makeup by Ami ensuring the bridesmaids looked equally stunning, the wedding party was nothing short of ethereal.

Luxe Event Group kept the energy sky-high all night with a flawless mix of Bollywood beats and crowd favorites. From the couple’s grand entrance to the final song, they delivered a soundtrack that made every moment unforgettable. Some moments deserve to be immortalized, and Sky Cinema Films didn’t just capture the day—they turned it into art. Their cinematography felt like a love letter to the couple, weaving slow-motion elegance with heart-racing dance sequences.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Throughout the years, I have tried meeting guys in person, and clearly, that didn't work out. I was on a few dating apps, and it felt like it became a full-time job. I kept swiping through, but nothing was working out. I knew I had to take a break, and after going through some serious health issues and losing my grandma, I realized that I needed to find someone to confide in. Finally, after a break from the dating apps, I decided to get back and meet Chintan on Dil Mil. We started talking through the app and then eventually had our first date in Philly, which lasted 12 hours!!!

Believe it or not, I knew he was the one after our second date. We went to the Phillies vs. Mets game (He's a die-hard Phillies fan, and my family and I are Mets fans). We were having a great time, but it was time to go home, and as we approached my car, I realized that I had lost my car key! My first instinct was to PANIC, but he calmed me down. we walked a few rows down, and he found my key intact! Since then, I knew I would be safe with him and did not have to worry!

Our first date was at this cherry blossom garden in Philly. We were so excited to see them, but when we got there all we saw was one tiny tree. We laughed about it and moved on with our date. Flash forward almost a year and half later he took me to a park near our first date that had the Philly skyline visible. There was a cute bubble set up with food and games inside and a "Marry Me" sign! it was PERFECT and I was too surprised!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
For Venue, we wanted to find a nice, elegant venue that also had a hotel close by since we would have a lot of people from out of state coming in for our venue. We found the Imperia in Somerset and loved the different options for doing a wedding outside or inside. It was beautiful so we went with that.

Photography: Ron and Bless are AMAZING at what they do! They have captured great moments of weddings for some of my cousins. It was a no brainer for us to choose them!

Videography: Sky Cinemas have also captured great moment at other family events and an added bonus was that they work great with Ron Soliman (our photographer). They do a great job and are very sweet to work with!

Hair and Make-Up: I reached out to a family friend who I knew did a great job with bridal hair and makeup. Shital was so excited to do this for me as she saw my grow up since I was a little kid! She did a great job and always kept me calm throughout the day!

Decor: Madam Milap had amazing decor, and it was very affordable! They communicated very well, and everything turned out amazing.

Mendhi: Dharma is such a creative person! She drew everything I wanted in my Mendhi and the stain was so dark and looked great!

Paan & Cocktails: Mr. Paanwala provided us with these amazing treats, and everyone LOVED them!

Dhol & Tabla: Rana Ranbir has been a childhood friend of mine and I'm so glad we were able to showcase his talent. He had everyone jamming throughout the baraat and the cocktail hour.

Same Day Coordinator: Eventify was recommended to us by my cousin, and they were great! Rupali and her team did a great job making sure everything went right even when things didn't. They even watched our dog Nala as we had her part of our wedding events!

DJ: Awaaz Entertainment played great music throughout the weekend to keep everyone dancing!

Food: Royal Alberts has GREAT food and a large selection so you cannot go wrong. Rasoi catered everything else and our mouths still water thinking about their delicious food.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
When I was young, I went to A LOT of family weddings! I would always think about what kind of dress I want when I get married. It had to be a bright red color and have peacocks on it. Chintan and I went shopping in India. It was just the two of us, and it felt like I was explaining my vision to the staff, but they weren't showing me options I liked. Chintan started walking around the shop, and he's like I think I found exactly what you are looking for. He picked it up and showed me, and I fell in love! Once I tried it on, it was a done deal.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone that has called us and still talk about our wedding loved the food at every event and loved all of the entertainment we had. We had live paan and Indian mocktails, a 360 Photo Booth, an audio guestbook and a live tabla player at the cocktail hour!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
We loved that we were able to include our dog, Nala, in all the events! She was one of our flower girls and wore Indian clothes. She was included in all the photos and home events!!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
No matter how much you try, things will go wrong and it may not go according to plan. Enjoy the day and every moment

As they embraced their new life as husband and wife, it was clear this was a memorable wedding.

New Rochelle, NY Indian Wedding by Bella Vita Weddings

When two hearts from different worlds unite in a grand, colorful spectacle, you know it will be a memorable wedding! Rona & Michael's Indian wedding in New Rochelle was a breathtaking blend of South Asian traditions and modern elegance, with each event radiating love, joy, and sparkle. Every detail, from the sacred Matricoor ceremony to a jaw-dropping reception, was a vision of perfection.

Let's wedding festivities began with a heartwarming Matricoor ceremony, a Guyanese-Hindu tradition that blessed the couple's journey. Dressed in a pristine white sari adorned with delicate floral jewelry, she gracefully embraced the sacred rituals. Rona's red bridal lehenga, bridal jewelry, and Michael's groom outfit were from Nazranna and Nazranna Jewels.

If Cinderella had a South Asian fairytale moment, it would look exactly like this. For the Sangeet, Rona turned heads in a mint green lehenga adorned with shimmering embroidery paired with exquisite jewelry from Tina's Inc. Michael complimented her effortlessly in an ivory and pastel green ensemble that coordinated, couple looks are always a win!

With the sounds of New York Alliance Tassa Group filling the air, Michael's baraat procession was the perfect balance of high energy and heartfelt excitement. Dressed in an ivory sherwani and a matching turban, he made a dashing groom. The Green Tree Country Club ceremony was a floral paradise, with cascading blooms and an ethereal mandap designed by Ruban Events that left everyone speechless. When it comes to florals and decor, they didn't just set the scene; they created a dreamscape. Picture a mandap in lush florals, intricate hanging lanterns, and golden hues that transported guests into a world of royal opulence.

The couple made their grand entrance, hand-in-hand, looking like royalty. But what stole the night? Their first dance! With DJ Rah Rahh curating the perfect beats, they twirled and swayed in a moment that felt like a scene from a Bollywood movie. Rona's golden retriever stole the show in a custom yellow outfit, proving that weddings are way better when pets are involved!

When the doors to The Venetian opened, guests walked into a scene straight out of a luxury wedding magazine. Thanks to Arcadia Floral Co, the ballroom was adorned with elegant centerpieces, soft candlelight, and an ambiance that screamed glamour. Rona's intricate henna, done by Henna by Aarti, was nothing short of artwork featuring delicate floral motifs and symbols of their love story. Bella Vita Weddings captured every candid moment, from the intimate hand-holding shots to the grand seaside bridal portraits. Every frame told a story, and every click preserved an emotion.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Background on us: Michael and I started dating around December 2018. Our first date was in the city, and we went to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. Our first picture together was in front of a Christmas Tree.

Fast forward three years later, we took a weeklong vacation in December 2021 to Europe. It was our first international trip together to the most romantic city in the world – Paris, France. On December 28, 2021, we planned to check out Palais Garnier, also known as Opera Garnier. It is probably the most famous opera in the world. This opera house is magnificent. In the Le Grand Foyer room, there was a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree that was the perfect backdrop for pictures. Of course, Michael and I took a few pictures in front of it. Michael suggested we take a few more, so I happily agreed. So, he flagged someone down to take our picture. As I was posing for the picture and waiting for him to stand next to me, I noticed that he was getting down on one knee. I was shocked, happy, nervous, excited…. I was feeling a lot of emotions at that moment. All I remember was giving him a kiss and saying Yes. It was the perfect proposal!! It was very fitting that he proposed to me in front of a Christmas tree.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Growing up, I envisioned myself in a traditional red lengha. I did get a little sidetrack when I first started looking for my bridal outfit. At the time, pink bridal lenghas were in fashion. So, I was gravitating towards that for a bit but ultimately, I realized that it wasn’t me. I wanted to embody a traditional Indian Bride. And that will never go out of style. Wearing a traditional red outfit is what sets us apart from other cultures in the world.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
My guests were blown away by the ceremony ritual, the tight bond with my family, the vibrant colors, and the delicious food. Our guests were all different backgrounds and faiths. Looking out in the crowd seeing our guests adorn themselves in traditional Indian outfits filled my heart with love, gratitude and appreciation. I felt love and respect from the people in the room for my culture. Till this day, I have people reaching out to me saying it’s the best wedding they have ever experienced in their lives.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Michael and I are from different backgrounds and faiths. My parents are from Guyana, and I was raised Hindu. Michael’s background is English, Irish, and Italian, and he was raised Presbyterian. We had a traditional Hindu ceremony but not a Christian ceremony. Michael didn’t feel the need for one. He fully embraced the Hindu customs! That special moment for me was walking down the aisle towards the Mandap to Michael. I could see love in his eyes and felt the warmth from his smile as I was walking towards him. That moment will forever be embedded in my mind and heart.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Your wedding day is one of the most important moments in your life. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. There will be a lot of suggestions, opinions, and comments about what your wedding should look like. At the end of the day, the only thing that should matter is what you think, fee,l and want. You don’t want to look back with regrets. The memory of your wedding should bring a feeling of happiness, comfort, and love.

This wedding wasn't just a celebration; it was an experience—one filled with meaningful moments.

Cancun, MX Fusion Wedding by Federico Salmeron Photography

Imagine the turquoise waves of Cancun gently meeting the shore, a bride glowing in a stunning red ensemble, and a groom making a grand entrance, lifted high by his groomsmen. Karen & Kiran’s Indian wedding at the Royalton Riviera Cancun was a true fairytale, set against a breathtaking, Bollywood-worthy backdrop!

When Karen and Kiran decided to tie the knot, they wanted a destination wedding that seamlessly blended romance, tradition, and a touch of tropical magic. Enter Beloved Planners, who meticulously designed an equal parts vibrant and sophisticated event, setting the stage for a celebration that would leave everyone in awe. And with Paradise Weddings handling the travel concierge, every guest arrives stress-free and ready to celebrate!

From the get-go, this wedding was a showstopper. The festivities began with the Baraat, where Kiran, looking regal in his intricately embroidered sherwani, made an epic entrance. His energy was unmatched. Seeing him being lifted into the air like a Bollywood hero was one for the books!

But if that wasn’t enough, the ceremony was set against the glistening Caribbean Sea, where a pristine white mandap adorned with Tulipania’s exquisite floral designs and rentals from Gamma Group perfectly framed the couple.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get more cinematic, the sky exploded with vibrant bursts of color as Karen & Kiran took their first steps as husband and wife. Yes, fireworks. In broad daylight. Talk about making an entrance and an exit!

Karen was nothing less than a vision. She wore a stunning red lehenga with intricate gold embroidery, embodying grace, beauty, and confidence. Federico Salmeron Photography captured her bridal glow in the most breathtaking way possible, from her delicate henna-adorned hands to the sparkle in her eyes as she saw Kiran waiting for her at the altar. Speaking of sparkle, the reception look? Pure fire. A glamorous white gown, sleek waves, and a romantic candlelit setup—it was a scene straight out of a modern-day royal wedding. And Saptapadi Weddings? Their cinematography gave us full-fledged K3G vibes (minus the dramatic family drama), with sweeping aerial shots, slow-motion twirls, and all the emotional close-ups that made even the toughest groomsmen tear up.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I was at his house one day and randomly stumbled upon a book he had called "Loving Someone with Anxiety" and immediately started to cry. I do struggle with anxiety and the fact that someone was willing to love me and accept my anxiety and figure out how to be better for me truly touched my heart. I was very used to hearing that my anxiety was something I had to fix and 'get rid of' so the fact that he truly loved me - for me - was amazing!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He did a great job with the proposal. I own a condo on a beautiful lake. That lake is my favorite place in the world and it has a peaceful dock. At the time of the proposal, I had rented it out. Vish somehow got a hold of the tenant and convinced him to lie to me, sending me a text that a break-in had occurred at the condo. We were on our way to dinner to meet friends, so we had to make a u-turn and go to the condo. Once at the condo, I couldn't find the tenant. Everything outside the condo looked fine and normal. I got very worried the robber had kidnapped my tenant and was holding him hostage in my condo. As my freakout worsened, Vish told me to calm down, and that we should go to the lake and wait for the police there. Calm down is the worst thing you can say to someone who's freaking out! So I decided to try to open the door and that's when he pulled me back and said that today was not the day I would be superwoman, that this was way too dangerous and we needed to back off. He literally dragged me to the lake while I screamed and cursed him out. I couldn't understand how he didn't think this was a serious situation! Internally, I started doubting how I could love such an insensitive person. I must have figured everything wrong about him! As we got to the dock, I noticed a bouquet of flowers on the bench and then I realized what was about to happen. Vish had to set up this wild story because he knew there was no way he'd be able to get me to my favorite place in the world without me suspecting anything. He got down on one knee while a photographer hid in a nearby boat and captured the moment. It was incredibly sweet and romantic! He then took me to dinner, where we were supposed to meet our friend and when we got there, I saw that all my friends and family were there, waiting to celebrate us!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
It was a dream come true wedding at our local Gurdwara for the Sikh Ceremony, at our family's house for the Mehndi night and at the Ritz for the Hindu Ceremony and dinner reception. It was a perfect mix of a local home vibe mixed with an out of this world romantic glamour vibe.

The customer service at the Ritz was above and beyond. Chef Jayshree has her own signature Indian fusion dishes, and she's based locally in Orlando. She caters to all the Indian weddings at Ritz hotels across the country, and we were so lucky to have her do our reception food. It was delicious and a nice break from all the other Indian food we'd been eating at all the other events - while also still being Indian enough for those who love their traditional Indian meals! The atmosphere at the Ritz was also incredible. It was impeccable!

My hair and makeup team were the dream team, and were able to change over my looks, from top to bottom, with just 30 minutes to do so between looks. They were able to incorporate my vision while also gently encouraging me to take some risks that made my looks completely unique. My Sikh ceremony look was traditional, while for Mehndi night they turned me into a modern Barbie doll! My Hindu ceremony look was epic, they turned me into a royal queen, and for my reception look, turned down the drama into a soft and romantic gold shimmery Belle look. I didn't have to ask to change anything; all my hair and makeup lasted throughout every event, and the best part was that I still looked like me at the end of the day!

My photographer was incredible and was always there for me. Anytime I needed them for a photo, they were there. They understood my vision and went above and beyond to make sure they captured the shots I wanted. They had snacks on hand in case we needed anything as well and also handled our guests with such grace. I'll never forget how at the Gurdwara, all I wanted was a break. Our photographer pulled us away from our guests, tucked us into a study room, gave us water, and had us stay there for 5 minutes so we could get a breather - all while telling our guests we would be right back. I didn't have to ask for this, they could just tell and simply knew. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a super special day and that they captured that day too.

Our theme was England Garden, and everything was very beautiful and natural with a lot of browns, greens and red-red roses. It wasn't a big over the top wedding, it was intimate and romantic. The one thing we wanted every guest to feel was loved, and I really think that's what was experienced.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I really like traditions. I love celebrating them and creating my own! We had a Sikh ceremony at the Gurdwara, and I wore bright red. For the Mehndi, I wanted to go completely against tradition and wore white with pastels and mirrors. The Hindu ceremony outfit was my favorite and was a deeper red and green. To change things up, I did two dupattas, with a green one on my head. I love how that look turned out. It was a great mix of traditional and modern. For reception, I was all gold! I had a lot of fun with my hair and makeup team changing up the looks to match each outfit. For the Hindu ceremony, my makeup artist wanted my look to be a bit more edgy, and she used dark green eyeliner in my waterline. I like taking fun risks like that. I think everything turned out beautifully!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Doing it with my husband by my side. We were both equally involved, and I felt so grateful for his support! This truly was both of our weddings :)

Oh - and the food tasting was awesome! The team at the Ritz really made sure we enjoyed everything and left with very full bellies! As we left, I took a deep breath, taking in the incredible scent they had flowing through the Ritz. I said, "I wish my house smelled like this." Moments later, their event coordinator came out with gift bags for me, my mom, and my mother-in-law. We all got candles of the Ritz scent so we could burn them at home! They made us feel so special!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone knows that the only thing guests care about is food, booze, and music, haha! I will say though that our guests also had a great time. Everything was very well planned and we got a lot of compliments on the timelines of each event (it wasn't Indian Standard) as well as how little time was wasted. There were a lot of breaks and time for people to chill out and relax between events. The mandate photos went smoothly, and we captured everyone in under 30 minutes! Our wedding planner did a great job planning each second out!

I think the guests could tell how much my husband and I loved each other during the events as well. Our love for each other came out in different ways - from the wedding and reception entrances to the speeches. The speeches were so heartfelt, even I was moved to tears. I also wrote a song for my husband and sang it for him at the reception. That was his and everyone else's first time hearing it, so that was very special.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
We aren't dancers, so every time we practiced our first dance, we were making mistakes. It got to a point where we said it was ok if we made a mistake during the actual performance because we just couldn't manage to nail it. When it was showtime, somehow, we actually did the whole dance without any mistakes! We just looked at each other in disbelief and felt so accomplished at the end of the performance! It was like we had just won a gold medal together! Best moment ever!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our friends and family put together a great 5-minute Punjabi/Gujarati dance mashup. The best part was the end when everyone joined flashmob style! It was great to see my coworkers absolutely killing it on the dancefloor and dancing to Bollywood!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
You have to really tune out the outside voices and do what is best for you. You're never going to make everyone happy, and someone will always feel left out, someone will always find the food too cold or spicy and someone will always think you did something wrong and now your marriage will be cursed.

Everything happens very fast, so make sure you take moments to enjoy your partner and plan in moments to have some time just the two of you. Remember - this is just one day. Don't sweat the small stuff and put all that energy into your relationship and make sure it is healthy and nourishing. That is much more important than any wedding detail.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My husband is Hindu and I am Sikh. A special memory that comes to my mind is how all the men in his family got their Pugries tied for our Sikh Ceremony. I felt so loved and appreciated that I wanted to celebrate our customs with us and didn't shy away from it. Also, Vishal's cousin Ami did something very special for me. My Naniji is 90 years old and is bedridden. She couldn't attend any of the festivities. When we were doing Mehndi at home for the family, Ami took one of the cones and put mehndi on my Naniji's hands so that she could also be a part of the wedding celebrations. It really moved my heart that his family did all this for me and my family. I felt so loved!

This was more than a wedding—it was a royal celebration to remember.
