Clarksville, MD Indian Wedding by Photographick Studios

Good morning, ladies! Get ready to enjoy Xama & Neel's wedding in today's Platinum Guide Blog!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Neel and I met at Garba on a cold October night – Just your typical Guju way of meeting your soulmate –To start off the Garba season, I was dancing & swirling my way through a crowd full of people, while Neel was perfecting his Garba moves with his friends.

Neel decided to jump in the line but my smile instantly caught his eye! It was love at first sight and Neel couldn't keep his eyes off how beautiful I looked that night. Little did I know that I was ready to get introduced to the love of my life that night.

In typical Neel fashion, a Taco Bell run was the perfect way to end Garba that night, he knew he somehow had to get me to ‘Taco chance on him’ in life. After many attempts to ‘Burrito around the bush,’ I finally agreed to go on our first date.

Months and months passed as our feelings grew stronger, and Neel knew I was someone special in his life he could not let go of. On a hot summer day in July, he planned a special date at the Georgetown Waterfront. He asked me to be his girlfriend with a special heart necklace – I must have thought this guy was pretty special because I made an easy choice by saying yes. As Neel was walking me back to the train station, we got caught up in conversation.... Neel almost missed getting off the train – it was our own DDLJ moment!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Neel knew he wanted to have a lifetime of memories with me and he knew he had to give me the Bollywood proposal of my dreams. Neel was a pro at surprising me- only this time around, it was the biggest surprise of my life. He knew he couldn’t mess this one up. So, what better way than using Works Fall Social to get me dressed and ready to impress? Using the help of both our siblings, family, and friends, he got me to the location. I was absolutely speechless to walk into my very own Bollywood proposal surrounded by family & friends! I immediately had tears in my eyes as I walked down to the red carpet that was decorated with flowers, candles, and photos of all our adventures in life. The camera was flashing & finally my Superman got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life: “Will you marry me; I will even eat Khichdi for you” & of course, I said YES to my Prince Charming!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Due to the pandemic, the planning process had became very stressful since we were re planning the whole wedding all over again. We contacted all the vendors again to see if they can accommodate to a smaller scale wedding. Our vendors worked with us in such a short period of time and made our wedding day possible.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted a floral outfit with non traditional color combination. I fell in love with the Asopalav floral lengha from the very first moment I saw it and it was exactly what I had in mind from the design to the color combination. I used Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and ideas for all my outfits.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was designing all my outfits, jewelry, & looks for the different events. I also enjoyed planning all the details with our family and how we all worked hard to making our wedding so special with so many different ideas. It also brought all of us closer together.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved how intimidate our wedding ceremony was. All our guests who were not able to join in person, got the chance to watch it via our LiveStream and on Zoom and they complimented how amazing of a job we did in planning this wedding. Many said that they enjoyed this wedding more than the traditional wedding that we are all used to. They also loved how we were able to plan such a creative and beautiful wedding despite the situation of re planning just 4 weeks before the wedding.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There was many special moments from our wedding but the one that caught me off guard was the dance performance by Neel along with all his groomsman. After his performance, our friends had surprised the both of us a with flash mob right after the baraat. Our first look on our wedding day was also my special moment from the wedding. The very first time we saw each other on our wedding day and thought wow we did it and the most awaited day is finally here. We got to hug each other a little closer and enjoy the special moment alone while getting our portraits taken.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Neel and my mehndi event were joined, and the color theme was green for both of our family. I love decorating and being creative, so I had a simple but such an elegant umbrella theme backdrop with lots of colorful drapes, pillows, cushions, and lanterns. Our 2nd event, Grah Shanti, was held separately at our own homes. I had a floral, greenery theme with white elephants displayed on wooden crates. The 3rd day was our beautiful backyard wedding. There was an arch in the front of the house that was decorated with pink and gold drapes with Ganesh on the side. As you walk down the pathway towards the backyard, there was another arch decorated with beautiful fresh flowers followed by the isle. The isle was made with drapes and flowers inside a glass stage that lead to the beautiful mandap which was decorated with lots and lots of beautiful fresh flowers that complimented both of our outfits. My side of the family had mint and gold color combination and Neels side had gold and red combination for the wedding outfits.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The wisdom for Brides to be is to enjoy each moment when planning your wedding. Make your wedding about you and not others. Focus on what you, your partner and your family want without thinking about what others are going to think.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband through family from my dad's side. I knew he was the one when we first started talking, we connected so well together. He sent me a message on September 2nd, 2018, I replied back 1 hour later. We started talking through message for a few weeks and from there everyday after that we were on the phone for at least an hour each night if not more.  He's patient, kind, fun, smart, and an amazing husband. We would talk about random things from food to favorite places to pet peeves. He was living in Maryland at the time and I was in California. I invited him to fly out to Cali for my birthday weekend to get to know each other. Let me just say, I had NEVER done anything like that before, but if felt right and felt like I had known him forever. December 15th 2018 he proposed and we got married on June 27th 2020.  I knew from the 1st phone call that he was "the ONE".

Ok, are you ready for this...this was the best/funny proposal EVER!! My boyfriend had planned this perfect proposal in San Diego with the sunset and music in the back. I had no idea, and knowing me I take forever to get ready, and I had messed up his plans with the sunset proposal. We still go to San Diego, and act like everything is normal, he than writes a note on his phone explaining to the person that will be driving the canoe, that I will be proposing to my fiancee. We stop in the middle of the water, where good pictures cannot be taken, I turn around and he's on his knees with the ring and I have this HUGE smile on my face and the "aww" moment. I give him the biggest hug and kiss with no words to describe how I was feeling.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
My overall experience was one big rollercoaster. At first, I thought I was going to cancel my wedding due to the pandemic situation. Luckily, I found the banquet hall "The Spice Garden" where I had my wedding held and was a magical moment that day. I had my hair and makeup done by Lulu (dolledupbylulu), who is an amazing/patient artist. My outfits were done in India, and I love the decor theme that I did. I was going for traditional look that also looked fancy and went with my lengha.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I selected my bridal lengha on the spot when I went to India in December. I had the color in mind and what kind of pattern that I was going for. I was going for a red traditional bride look because I knew what kind of jewelry I wanted to wear and how I wanted my makeup and hair style done. When it comes to shopping I am really peeky as to what kind of work it is or what color the blouse and dupatta will be. Doing shopping in India from Asopalav was amazing because I got all my outfits from there and I'm really happy with all of the outfits that I wore on the both days.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was putting all of it together, from starting to the guest list to all the way to the decorations to choosing the food. It was like puzzle pieces coming together day by day with all the planning that was done by my family and I. I really enjoyed the planning process and got to experience/learn new ritual along the way.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The guests loved the ceremony and the food.
Also, they loved the setup and how everything was organized and falling into place with the sitting arrangement.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
A special moment in my wedding that constantly replays in my mind is, when I walked down the aisle like a princess, knowing that I am marrying the love of my life who is going to be now my husband. Another special moment that constantly replays in my mind is when we did the pheras around the fire and promised to be with each other for eternity.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I want to thank Vishal Kumar the owner of The Spice Garden, Peter Nguyen Studio and his team for the cinematography and the wonderful pictures. The decorations and the style of the set up was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. It was my wedding dream come true. A big shoutout to my girls who were my bridesmaids for the beautiful dances they did. The decorations were mind blowing and matched my outfit that I was wearing for the wedding day.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Work together
Don't rush through life's landmarks
Enjoy each other
laugh together
Never bring up mistakes from the past

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My mehndi was gorgeous and I really loved every small detail that was done to signify the love that I have for my husband. I had a stethoscope drawn with his initial "M" in the middle to show my love for him and that I LOVE HIM SO VERY MUCH?

See you tomorrow for more. Same place, same time!

Chicago, IL Indian Wedding by Rahul Rana Photography

Darlings, don't miss Roshani & Parshva's long-awaited wedding bash in today's Platinum Guide Blog!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
My husband and I met when we were in high school, but we didn't start dating until after college. We talked every so often but since we went to different universities we didn't see each other much until we moved back home. I think I knew he was "the one" after our first "official" date. We had already become very close as friends so taking our relationship to the next level was a very natural transition.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I knew my husband was going to propose some time in 2018, I just wasn't sure when. That is, until he walked into my house at 7:30am on a Saturday wearing a dress shirt and blazer. That kinda gave it away. He took me to Navy Pier and proposed in the ferris wheel when we got to the top. Even though I knew it was coming, I still couldn't stop myself from crying my eyes out. Our proposal was private, but we met up with our family and friends afterwards to celebrate. It was one of the happiest days of my life.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had a lot of help from our family. We both have sisters and cousins who were so helpful when it came to finding the perfect venue, vendors, and decor theme. We were also determined to stick to our budget as much as we could. My husband was extremely helpful with this as he is very organized when it comes to planning and finances. Things can get crazy and add up with all of the events, vendors, gifts, etc. but he had this awesome spreadsheet that he used to keep track of it all.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to wear red. I saw an outfit online that was made by an Indian designer and I fell in love. I was able to find another designer through Instagram who could re-create any Indian outfit and decided to give them a chance. They were my first stop when I went to Mumbai. I actually didn't look at any other bridal outfits while I was in India, I knew what I wanted and I had to have it. I'm so happy with the decision I made and how my outfit turned out.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The food tastings! We loved sampling all of the different items and creating a menu of our favorites.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The entertainment. We are so lucky to have family and friends who went above and beyond with emceeing, performances, and speeches.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There so many that come to mind, but the one that sticks out most is our first dance together as husband and wife. Everything about that moment was perfect.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the planning process and delegate! You spend about a year planning your wedding and even though it can feel stressful at times it will be over before you know it. It's important to take things one day at a time and ask your family and friends for help when you need it. This will make the whole process go smoother and your loved ones will also be happy that they were able to be a part of your big day.

Goa, India Indian Wedding by Camera Crew India

Good morning, Maharanis! We hope you've had a wonderful weekend and that you have recharged batteries because we have an inspiring wedding celebration you don't want to miss! This time, we are starting the week by taking you on a visual trip to Goa, India, to enjoy Malvika & Apurv's wedding bash. So, get yourselves ready, because what is coming right ahead will take your breath away. Let's start by looking at the mesmerizing wedding ceremony held at the Zuri White Sands and fully decored by Dawn to Dusk Events. This striking venue became the perfect place for Malvika & Apurv to tie the knot in the company of their family and friends while having a marvelous sunset as their wedding backdrop. Simply amazing! There was so much beauty overflowing from every angle of this ceremony that anywhere you looked, it had perfection written all over the place. Same perfection and beauty we found in our gorgeous Maharani. She trusted her beauty needs to Zeetra Bridal Makeup, who made her look like a goddess. Their spectacular work is so impressive, and we cannot stress how much we loved it. But that is not all! Malvika went a little further to achieve her dreamy bridal look and trusted her fashion needs to Malasa, Prevasu, and Manish Malhotra, all big players in the fashion game. After the ceremony, there was an epic reception party, and it was so spectacular that we found ourselves lost in words to describe it. Thankfully, our good friends from Camera Crew India were there to capture all the amazingness. So wait no more, and get ready to visit today's full gallery!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
The proposal came as a complete surprise. We were in Croatia (we had just finished visiting Kiev and Prague), staying at the Dubrovnik Palace where our room was overlooking the Adriatic. My now husband told me the hotel was hosting a special event that we should attend. So after a great day of sightseeing, I went to get ready for this "event". I was taking my time getting ready (not realizing the urgency of what would be a beautiful sunset proposal), but my husband insisted we go downstairs early to check out the view before it got too dark. As we made our way downstairs, we walked outside and he grabbed my hand and led me to a private beach terrace. There I saw a red carpet leading to a table with champagne and flowers. He led me down the red carpet, got on one knee and proposed. Right then a photographer, who had been hiding behind the beach rocks, came out and took pictures of the magical moment! He then led me to an area with a private dining space in a Michelin star restaurant with our very own string quartet playing for us as the sun set. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, it was truly a dream proposal come true.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had been looking at bridal lenghas from the first day we started wedding planning! I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, the color I wanted, and the stores I wanted it from. After a couple days of looking around though, I still could not find the 'one'. The dresses just didn't have that special 'this is it' feeling. I felt frustrated, but then I wandered inside the Manish Malhotra store and saw this gorgeous gold lehenga displayed in the window and fell in LOVE! When I tried it on, I just knew this was going to be my bridal lengha no matter what. I just knew I couldn't walk down the aisle wearing anything else!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We planned the entire wedding with our guests in mind! Since this was a destination wedding, we really wanted our guests to think of it as a vacation and have the best time! We wanted each event to be interactive as possible, with games and dancing, and our guests really loved that! We started off with icebreaker games during high-tea for both the brides and grooms side to mix and get to know each other followed by the sangeet which had amazing dance performances! The next day, we had a poolside haldi with games like beer pong, darts, flip cup, pool volleyball, etc, followed by a wedding overlooking the beach during sunset, and a reception filled with more games and endless dancing.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

There is not a single part of the entire wedding that we do not think about almost every single day. My husband and I will always cherish the fact that we had friends and family travel from all over the world, stay all together in one resort, and celebrate with us every step of the way! The memories are going to last us a lifetime.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Do not stress over the details, you are the only one that will even notice if things are not going according to plan. The memories are not in the details, they are in the fact that all your loved ones have all gathered in one place to celebrate you and the incredible journey you are about to embark in marrying the love of your life. The things you remember the most are the laughter, dancing and good times, so make sure to remember to have a good time!!

What a great way to start this week! Don't forget to join us tomorrow for more.
