Serbia, Turkey & India Indian Fusion Wedding by CineLove

Happy Monday, beauty queens! A full weekend without your company feels like an eternity, but we are so excited to be back so we can continue sharing our passion for fantastic wedding celebrations! And today's featured wedding is nothing less than spectacular. It is so unique and filled with surprises that we can firmly say that this is unlike any other wedding that we have witnessed in quite a while. For starters, Bobana & Ansh's fairytale had three different destinations: Serbia, Turkey, and India. How amazing is that! Every event of this wedding was mesmerizing as breathtaking, and we find ourselves lost of words to describe the jaw-dropping attires and the swoon-worthy set-ups conceptualized and styled by none other than Meha Bhargava of Styl.Inc. The celebrations started with a heavenly Christian ceremony in Belgrade Serbia, which is Bobana's hometown. And oh boy, this opening ceremony was to die for! From the captivating decor crafted by Svadbena zvona to the ravishing look of our gorgeous couple, everything was amazing! The festivities continued in Antalya, Turkey, where they had a 3-day long, Indian wedding. A colorful Haldi, a fun-loving Mehndi, and a vibrant Sangeet were just the preamble for the full-traditional Indian wedding ceremony held at the Titanic Mardan Palace. This paradisiacal venue, which combines traditional architecture and a soothing natural environment, added an extra touch of uniqueness to this event, becoming the perfect backdrop for these lovebirds to profess their love and commitment to each other. The wedding festivities concluded with an unforgettable reception held at the Mor Bagh - New Delhi, where All in Organization & Events took care of the decor, and Manish Puri enlivened every moment with upbeat melodies. Hands down, Bobana & Ansh's had the wedding of their dreams! And this could not have been possible without a highly talented and experienced team like the one Bobana & Ansh's had by their side. So big kudos to Chapter 2 Events for the on-point planning and execution, Anjie Gogna for the ravishing look created for our gorgeous Maharani and CineLove for the marvelous shots that made this feature possible! Visit today's gallery for a full revel of this wedding!

Rajasthan, India Indian Wedding by Vows and Tales

Good morning, beauty queens! We are starting this Tuesday with a trip to India. Yes, you read right: India! Today, we are heading over to Rajasthan, India, to take part in Shalini & Rishi's 3-day wedding festivities. So, get yourselves ready, because what is coming right ahead will take your breath away! There is something extra special about weddings that take place in India that never ceases to amaze us. Maybe it is the fact that they are full of flair and traditions, or perhaps it is the fact that seeing a love story come to life in the very same place where our dearest traditions started is mindblowing. We really don't know! What we do know is that today's love story will make your inspiration fly, and your hearts melt with tenderness and joy, so let's don't wait any longer and get ready to be amazed! Let's start by taking a look at the mesmerizing wedding ceremony held at the surroundings of the Joypur Bansi Resort. This striking venue, which also hosted the Sangeet and the reception party, was the perfect place for Shalini & Rishi to tie the knot. There was so much beauty overflowing from every single scene of the ceremony that anywhere you looked, it had perfection written all over the place. Same perfection and beauty that we found in our gorgeous Maharani. She donned a traditional but glamorous lengha designed by Papa Don't Preach By Shubhika, and walked down the aisle looking like a goddess! It was a perfect moment, where everyone sighed and dropped a couple of tears of joy over so much beauty. And we want to give a big shoutout to Shraddha Luthra and Sunita Pawar for taking such good care of Shalini's beauty needs. Their spectacular work is so impressive, and we cannot stress how much we loved it. But that is not all! Shalini went a little further to achieve her dreamed bridal look and got marvelous pieces of jewelry from Ra Abta by Rahul Luthra and a fabulous Mehndi designed by Deepa Mehandi Art. After the ceremony, there was an epic reception party that marked the end of the wedding festivities, and it was so spectacular that we found ourselves lost in words to describe it. Thankfully, the good friends from Vows and Tales were there to capture all the amazingness. Dive into this fabulous celebration by visiting today's gallery!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I wrote a short story about us, would like to share it here.

A ‘Just In Time’ Love Story

As most of the best relationships go, Rishi and I were introduced through mutual friends. From our first date in a small italian restaurant, to a romantic surprise proposal full of champagne and best friends in NYC’s Central Park Bow Bridge, our love story was the fairytale every girl dreams of.

While there were months of being physically apart and plenty of arguments due to many cultural differences, our love story is one for the modern age.

Several years ago, my sister settled in the US and ever since, my heart and spirit were torn. My heart will forever belong to India but my spirit wanted to achieve something wonderful in the land of opportunity. Rishi was the answer to a question I never asked.

God’s timing is a mysterious thing and one needs to have faith in it

From Rishi’s surprise trip to India early in our relationship, to our Iceland and Paris vacations, to my parents surprising us in Los Angeles, We were blessed with the hand of God gently guiding us throughout. This followed our engagement in LA in the presence of our loved ones.

Our The-Day was here!!

I have always wanted a wedding full of memories, traditions, much fun with our loved ones.. much before this had planned it all!
Just days before the world went under lockdown, We lived our Dream, a magnificent Destination Wedding in Jaipur, India- full of many loved ones who braved COVID-19 to celebrate our union.
Just the way I dreamt my wedding to be! I am and will be forever thankful to the ones who were part creating these moments.

Now, quarantined together in Santa Monica, California - looking through our incredible pictures by Vows & Tales and waking up to such beautiful posts by bloggers from across, is reliving those memories.

Realizing how many couples have had to postpone their wedding celebrations - I want to share a small piece of advice. Love is more important than any celebration - but a wedding celebration is about the people - so, if you can - wait and do it right.

Hang in there and lots of love,
-Shalini

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
RED. The only thing I was sure about is - Wanted to keep my wedding lehanga red. Red color may be played out or something that brides have been wearing since centuries but I needed no modern twist there, Specially when Pastels are trending, I still wanted to have a red lehanga which could look very traditional and royal for the ceremony but since I was wearing my lehanga for the reception too after the sunset Pheeras, I needed something that could look very royal for the ceremony and classy as well as chic for the reception.
I instantly fell in love with my outfit when I tried the Rimple and Harpreet's beautiful design. I did not even try any other design.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
You never enjoy planning your own wedding.
Being an event planner myself, planning my own wedding and whole process was extremely stressful.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Guest had A LOT OF FUN. All they did was - dress up, dance, drink and eat.
They enjoyed pretty much everything- from the world's cuisines personally curated for each event according to theme, dancing till 8AM every night, interesting and unique themes of events. All 4 days for them were total madness and fun. And last but not the least the gorgeous cake is something they still talking about.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
On my D day - The moment when I saw my groom and when Rishi saw his bride. The connection and that eye contact between me and Rishi was the most amazing feeling ever. The moment I would cherish for life. It's a feeling that can't be put in word.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
The whole wedding was inspired by Peacocks and elephants that includes the Mandap decor, the favours, cutleries, Decor, My mehendi and even my LEHENGA. This was because Rishi loves elephants and I adore peacocks.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
YOU should be the one to have the most fun in your wedding. So enjoy to the fullest.
ALWAYS HAVE A SMILE. They say is right, happy brides are the prettiest
Start taking extra care of your skin from the day you decide to get married lol

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
We had a Royal Welcome dinner at one of the most beautiful forts in India - Amer Fort, Jaipur which was the start of the events. - Gazal Nights followed by my mehendi.
Rainbow Mehandi the next day.
Rishi's Haldi
Cocktail Night - For which I designed my gown myself, My train was approx 8 Mts long.
Chuda Ceremony & my haldi
Wedding ceremony
Reception- Our wedding cake was highlight of the evening which had a beautiful decor of flowers and crystals and was grand and gorgeous.

We are still sighing over so much beauty, and we need a moment to catch our breath. But don't forget to join us tomorrow for more. We will have a new love story to share with you!

Indian Fusion Wedding by Lin & Jirsa Photography & Thanh Photo

Happy Friday, Maharanis! Can you believe how quickly we've flown through this week? It seems that with a blink of an eye, we went from Monday to Friday! The good thing is that throughout the whole week, there were a lot of beautiful and inspiring stories that enriched our creativity and made our imagination fly. And today's fusion wedding is no exception! So, get ready to be amazed by the beautiful union between Hira & Shakil. This wedding bash comes to us from Irvine, CA, and it was so spectacular that this adorable duo had to have two different photographers to immortalize this marvelous celebration of love. In today's gallery, you'll find visual masterpieces by Lin & Jirsa Photography and also by Thanh Photography. They are equally beautiful and representative of the grandeur that surrounded this enchanting wedding celebration, and we are sure you are going to love them so much! Let's start this journey by taking a look at a Nikkah ceremony officiated at the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley, where Hira & Shakil tied the knot in the company of their family and closest friends and made a promise of eternal love to each other. And we cannot stress enough how much we love seeing them together, as you can tell that they are a match made in heaven! An elegant and luxurious reception party held at the Hotel Irvine followed the Nikkah ceremony, and oh boy, this reception was fabulous beyond words! But there is no surprise here as SoCal Event Planners took care of the planning and execution, and Chez Rose worked their magic to create a marvelous backdrop with gorgeous floral arrangements and luxurious chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Anywhere you looked, it had perfection written all over the place! Starting with the ravishing look of our gorgeous Maharani, whose fashion sense is as graceful as exquisite! She looked like a goddess throughout the entire wedding festivities thanks to PeaceLoveSakina and The World of HSY, who took care of her beauty and fashion needs. In between emotional speeches, tears of happiness, and the upbeat melodies played by Dhamaka Entertainment, this night got to an end. But we are more than sure that the end of this magical night was only the beginning for Hira & Shakil's happily ever after!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met at a mutual friend’s graduation party. He tapped me on my shoulder and introduced himself and the rest is history! For our first look on our wedding day, we recreated that moment and he tapped me on the shoulder (as opposed to the bride tapping the groom on the shoulder).

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Shakil took me on a helicopter ride in Los Angeles. We got to see an aerial view of our favorite and most memorable spots in LA. The cherry on top was the beautiful sunset we saw over Santa Monica beach. After the helicopter landed, he popped the question and I immediately said yes!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I did extensive research using Instagram to create a vision. With the help of my coordinator, Shumaila of So Cal Event Planners, I was able to achieve the vision I had in mind for my wedding. I spent time with my decorator, Tanya, picking out the color theme that would complement our outfits. Each flower type and color was handpicked by me and I made sure we had different shades of dusty pink, red and orange for the wedding center pieces. We opted for a dark burgundy background so it could make us stand out. I love chandeliers and decided I wanted them to be part of the background. I wanted to go for a vintage theme and dark theme. Shumaila made sure the ballroom looked beautiful with the lighting, draping, and decor. As for the Mehndi (sangeet), I chose colors from my outfit to be used for the decor. I opted for baby’s breath for the stage decor and I absolutely loved how it turned out. I chose my long time and talented friend, Sakina, as my make up and hair artist for both days. I communicated what type of hair and make up I wanted before the events.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went across the globe to Pakistan for wedding shopping. I was never a fan of wearing red and always knew I wanted to wear a champagne color outfit with gold embroidery from my favorite designer HSY. As for my mehndi (sangeet) outfit, I decided to wear a bold color like black because I wanted to stand out amongst colorful decoration. For my nikkah look, I wanted a super traditional look with the outfit and jewelry. My dupatta had a hint of yellow, baby pink, and baby blue, which was my favorite part of the outfit.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable process for me was choosing the decor! As I said before, each color was carefully handpicked by me based on the outfits I was wearing. That’s how I also chose my husband’s outfits (I shopped for each one of them in Pakistan). I wanted to make sure we wouldn’t washout with the backdrop, so I chose colors that would complement our outfits.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved the backdrop, handels ice cream and of course the horse carriage at the end! We didn’t even tell our family members about it, but it was the perfect fairytale ending.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Before walking into the ballroom, Shumaila told us to take it in and walk slowly. I still remember the doors opening, as we took our first step, all we saw were flashing lights. As we took a few more steps, I got to see everyone clearly in the ballroom. It finally hit me - this is OUR wedding. Our favorite song was playing for the entrance (can’t take my eyes off of you by Frankie Valli & the 4 seasons) and I literally looked at my husband thinking “you’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off of you”. It also hit me that we had over 500 guests present in that ballroom to celebrate our love. I won’t ever forget that feeling.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our first dance, we chose “can’t help falling in love” by Elvis Presley, which was another favorite moment from our wedding. With the fog we felt like we were on cloud 9!
For the mehndi, my family and friends surprises the grooms side with a flash mob to “hips don’t lie” by Shakira because we wanted to incorporate a song with our hashtag.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
I’d be lying if I said planning a wedding is not stressful, but trust me, when you look back at the wedding planning process you’ll miss it and realize how fun it was because it’s your day and once you see everything come together, it’ll be the best feeling! It may not be 100% but that’s ok, because ultimately you’re finally marrying the man of your dreams and that’s all that matters!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Jewelry on the wedding and nikkah was also bought in Pakistan during my wedding shopping trip. I wanted to buy real gold so I can pass it on in the future. I wanted my nikkah jewelry to be super traditional and my wedding jewelry to look more vintage.

That is all for today, ladies! Have an awesome weekend, stay safe, and don't forget to join us on Monday for more!

So, make sure to have your notebook handy because Ayesha & Nur's wedding celebration is about to blow your mind with so many amazing and mesmerizing ideas! The long-awaited wedding day arrived, and these two lovebirds were more than prepared to unite their lives in marriage. They wanted to keep a memory of each and every moment of this life milestone that they decided to bring Shuttersaund on board to capture every single detail of this dreamy day. The day started with a romantic first look photoshoot leading to a Nikah ceremony officiated at the Islamic Center of LI, where Ayesha & Nur sealed the deal and professed their love and commitment to each other in the company of their family and friends. After the Nikah ceremony, it was time to head over to Leonard's Palazzo to celebrate the newlyweds in a traditional reception party enlivened by Glitz & Glamour Events. All the guests danced the night away and enjoyed the delicious plates prepared by The Cotillion and the sweet cake baked by Francesco's Bakery. And all we have to say is that this reception party was amazing beyond words. In case you were wondering who is responsible for so much amazingness, it is none other than the talented team from Royal Charms Floral and Decor. They nailed Ayesha & Nur's vision and delivered nothing but utter perfection. And talking about perfection, let's take a moment to admire the ravishing look of our gorgeous Maharani, who burst into the room looking like a princess of an Indian fairytale. She wore a swoon-worthy attire from Sabyasachi Mukherji, very well complemented with the exquisite pieces of jewelry from Meermankaa's collection. But her dreamy bridal look doesn' end there! Beauty By Tamanna took over Ayesha's beauty needs creating a traditional but glamorous look that praised her innate beauty, making her look like royalty. To crown this ultimate bridal look, she got a gorgeous Mehndi design by Sam Art Henna Contour, which added an extra touch of traditional flair to her already ravishing combination! Beauty and tradition at its best! Check more of this magical celebration on love in today's full gallery. It is an absolute visual delight that you'll love!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
They say that soulmates are there to complete you. That a soulmate is your better half. I’ve never believed in that. I believe in me being whole and my soulmate being his whole. A soulmate is supposed to compliment you. Inspire you to be the best you can be at whatever it is that you want in life. A person who you can be unapologetically yourself with. Your person. Everyday I wake up with a heart of gratitude for God giving me “my person”. I met Nur on the campus of our university. Living in a technological, millennial era I had a friend request from him prior to. We both had mutual friends but I’ve never met him. Our first run in was at the campus coffee shop, where we were both in line and immediately I recognized him from the request. We looked at one another and that moment seemed like forever. As if time stood still. We didn’t say a word but that moment I still remember vividly, felt like I’ve known this person all my life. Later on that week, I walked into one of my classes and as fate would have it, the last remaining seat was next to him! We had the same class and from there our friendship began. Going to class was much more exciting because I knew he’ll be there. In between classes, we would spend hours just laughing over cups of coffee. We became best friends. I knew what I felt him, how much I grew to love him. I was fearful what if he didn’t feel the same way, what if I ruined what we have with wanting more. I didn’t know if he felt for me the way I felt for him. I decided to put my feelings on the side and start setting up blind dates for him! I just knew he would make any girl happy and I wanted him to be with someone. He was so confused to why I was doing that and a part of me was just as confused. Why couldn’t I just tell him how I felt? That created a space between us. He was confused to why I would try to set him up with someone when he thought the feelings between us were mutual. We didn’t speak for a few weeks until we met and he expressed how much he’s in love with me. I was over the moon and felt so relieved that he felt everything I did! From there our love story started and it’s been a journey of love, joy, happiness, tears. I wouldn’t want it to be any other way. We finally tied the knot with our dream wedding, surrounded by our family and friends. I love every moment of knowing I have a best friend before I have a husband. Someone who I can be myself with and love him through life’s every trial and tribulation. I love him because he’s a part of me but I love him even more for what I am with him. That’s our love story and it’s my favorite.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
The night of August 30th was the most surreal night of my life. That day wasn’t the happiest of days for me, I wasn’t feeling well and decided to take the day off from going into the office. Throughout the day I communicated to Nur about how I was feeling. That evening he decided to surprise me at home with the most beautiful bouquet of roses which I felt was the sweetest thing ever. To my surprise, that entire night was comprised of surprises. He wanted us to enjoy the night and persisted on grabbing dinner and drinks in the city. As hesitant as I was, I gave in to make him happy. It was the perfect summer night. We drove into the city and all I could remember is just how happy I was in that moment as the warm summer breeze swayed my hair into the summer night. Our laughter drowned out the noises of the city and time felt like it came to a standstill. He drove in front of a hotel and I was frazzled to why we weren’t at a restaurant but he assured me that we’re having dinner on the rooftop. We were getting ready to go in and he seemed to be busy on his phone, answering calls and texts and prolonging us going in which really irritated me. He said he needed a few mins to answer a conference call and that frustrated me even more. He stepped outside the car to take the call and when he got back I was just over it. We’re in the elevator going up to the rooftop and I was just so upset. He’s leading the way and as I walk into the outdoor space I hear our favorite song, “All of Me” by John Legend playing. I see my sisters there and from that moment I felt like time seemed to stand still. It was as if I was in a dream. The sun was setting and the entire sky was painted beautifully. He led me to the center of the rooftop and got on one knee. All I could remember is him saying “A summer night, our favorite song, a view above our city & you. I’ve waited six years for this.” He then pulled out the most gorgeous ring from his pocket and asked me to be his forever. Off course I said yes!!! Surrounded by the most important family and friends, every moment of that night felt as if I was lost in this dream. The night was perfect, the ring was perfect but the most important part of that night was being able to say yes to my best friend. To my soulmate because without him there wouldn’t be a me.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Nur and my life long dream was to be a Sabyasachi Bride and Groom. I wanted to be a traditional Bengali bride, while keeping my personal style intact. For my nikkah ceremony, I was very specific about wearing a banarasi saree and in the color beige. Nur also wanted to keep it neutral, simple and wore the color beige. He opted for a classic beige quilted sherwani by Sabyasachi. He paired it with a beige and gold bordered shawl. After waiting for months, I also found "the saree" in the perfect shade of beige at the Sabyasachi store in Kolkata. For our reception, we had a different vision in mind. We wanted to go for a regal and timeless look. I've always had my eyes on Sabyasachi's maroon velvet lehengas and i knew i found the one the moment i saw his Fall 2019 collection. Nur decided to wear the classic black  sherwani with a gold benarasi churidar and a maroon velvet shawl, to match my maroon lehenga. We worked with the Sabysachi team remotely through various channels including media platforms, and communication channels, to place an order for our wedding attires. The experience was seamless and precise.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was spending more time with our family and friends. With everyone's insanely busy schedule, its always difficult to make plans with family and friends. But when there's an upcoming wedding, everyone takes a backseat from their daily lives to come together and get creative. During my planning process,  i was able to spend as much time as possible with my siblings, cousins, and best friends. The best memories i have from that time is shopping, trying on hundreds of outfits, dance practice, and running a thousand errands in a day, all while laughing and having a mental breakdown at once.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our wedding designers did a phenomenal job with our decor. All of our guests were taken back the moment they walked into the venue. They also couldn't stop raving about how much they enjoyed the food.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment in our wedding was the first look. From the beginning of the day, I was extremely nervous and excited to see Nur. I wanted to have a first look, just to hold him one last time before becoming husband and wife. I remember feeling a thousand butterfies in my stomach as i walked up to Nur from behind and tapped his back. The best part of this was seeing his reaction as he saw me. That moment was one of the happiest moments of my life.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our Mehndi, we chose a theme of warm and the tropics. We decided to go with bright, vibrant arches of the most gorgeous roses, bright green foliages, and palm tree center pieces for the tables. My bridal party dressed in hues of greens. For our reception, we wanted a whimsical, romantic garden theme. thousands of white roses adorned the grand ballroom of the venue. Candles lit throughout the entire room, to create the most romantic, dreamlike atmosphere.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Remember to enjoy every moment of the planning process. Don't overthink and stress yourself out over the small things. Do lots of research and book the right vendors who align with your concept and vision. Be very careful with your guest list. Work closely with your planner to make sure everything goes according to your vision.

We hope you've enjoyed today's feature as much as we did! Remember that we have new stories every day, so don't forget to join us tomorrow for more!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Yosh was a friend of our family for a very long time. He was at all of my family events and he spent a lot of time with my cousins and I. Eventually, we ended up together. We aren’t exactly sure how it happened, but we’re so thankful that it did.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Our proposal story is definitely not a typical, romantic one. It’s actually kind of funny. It was our anniversary. It was a Saturday and he told me to be ready at a certain time because he was taking me to Malibu, but I woke up not feeling well. I was thinking of cancelling our plans, but everyone including my mom wouldn’t let me. My mom also looked so stressed, she kept coming into my room checking to make sure my makeup looked good, and she made me change my jewelry 4 times. I still didn’t think anything of it. So I went on this anniversary date and I was so frustrated because my boyfriend was texting the entire time and he seemed so on edge. He took me to this random restaurant (I later found out he needed to stall) and the food was awful and I started throwing up. I asked him if we could go home because I didn’t feel well, but then I saw how disappointed he looked so I decided to tough it out. He pulled up at the beach and told me to take off my shoes because I was wearing heels. So we walked on the sand and it was really nice. I was kind of confused because we were aimlessly walking and I was wondering what the plan was, but he just kept walking. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw this guy take a picture of me with a camera and then he started hiding behind a rock and still kept taking pictures. I turned to my boyfriend and said “Babe, that guy is taking pictures of us!” And he just shrugged it off. I was so busy looking at the guy, I missed the whole set up. There was a blanket with roses, a basket, Champagne, and a ring!!
So he proposed and I was in shock for like 20 minutes. We drank some champagne. Some of my cousins were there and it was truly beautiful. After all of this, he told me that his family and mine were waiting for us at my house and there will be a little party. I was super excited and was ready to go home. We got in the car and his car broke down! Luckily, we were able to take one of my cousin’s car. We got to the party and it was such an amazing night! We felt so loved by everyone and it is a night I’ll never forget.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was a lot for me. I typically love planning events! When it came to my own, I really struggled. I decided I did not want a wedding planner and I wanted to do it all myself. I’m kind of picky.
We had a 2 day wedding. Saturday was our Hindu wedding. And Sunday was our Buddhist ceremony and reception. We had 550 guests. Choosing my hair and makeup artist was hard for me. I am actually a makeup artist, so I was really particular. I found my makeup artist Nadia Ali and we did a trial. She let me choose exactly what I wanted, and fix things and I loved that she let me be so involved. On our wedding day, she came through and handled it all.
We did end up hiring a day of coordinator. Her name was Monika Patel and she was amazing.
My family really came through for me and took care of so many details. It truly was a group effort and I was so thankful so have such an amazing team on my side.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
So I had 3 outfits. I knew that I wanted my Hindu wedding outfit to be red and sparkly. I tried on so many outfits in LA. I even tried on what was in style at the time and it didn’t look right on me. We ended up going to New York. And my first appointment was with Sandy at Bolly Couture (I found her on Instagram.) I loved her outfits! There was one outfit on the mannequin and I was like “Whoa! That outfit is sparkly, but way too sparkly!” I actually didn’t like it. My cousins made me try it on as a joke since I didn’t like it. I put the outfit on and I looked up and my cousins were in tears. And I said “Oh no! Please don’t tell me this is the one.”
Sandy took me to the mirror and I saw it and fell in love. I was ready to buy it right then and there. To do myself justice, I continued with the rest of my appointments just to make sure that was it. No matter what I tried on, I kept thinking about that outfit. Nothing else would even excite me. So we bought that amazing outfit that weighed more than I did!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part for me was getting responses to our invitations. Once someone talked about attending the events, their outfits, flight, or if they’re staying at the hotel; that really excited me and it made it feel real for me.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Everyone talked a lot about the food! Manohar’s Delhi Palace is the best! We go to their restaurant all the time and love their food! For the wedding, they came through and delivered.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There are too many to jot down! But we actually loved looking out and seeing our guests having a good time. We also had so many amazing moments with out bridal party and we loved having such an amazing team on our side!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My advice would be to give yourself a lot of time to plan, talk to other brides, and bargain!
On the day of, don’t stress (I know, easier said than done.) The reason I say this is because you’ve done absolutely everything you can already, now everyone else (including family) will help to figure it out.

We have new stories every day, so make sure to join us tomorrow for more! I bet you will get tons of inspiring ideas.
