Happy Tuesday, Maharanis! If you were seeking for bridal inspiration, you've come to the right place! Today, we are double featuring Nikkee & Suraj's big wedding celebration, and believe us; you will love it. We have the marvelous shots below, captured by Asaad Images. And if that is not enough, you can also enjoy the cinematographic delight by Riant Films featured in today's Video Blog. We are starting our journey by taking a look at the process our gorgeous Maharani went through so she could have the ultimate bridal look she always wanted for her big day. And oh boy, we loved the exquisite makeup and the sleek hairstyle designed by Simply Makeup & Hair. It was unbelievable! Padma Patel complemented this dazzling look with an artistic Mehndi, adding an extra touch of traditional flair to the overall look. Once Nikkee was fully glamorized, it was time to carry on with the two wedding ceremonies hosted at the Savannah Center. The halls of this venue transformed into a magical setting reminiscent of the interiors of an Indian palace, thanks to the perfect planning and fabulous decor crafted by B3 Event Management. After the wedding ceremonies, a vibrant reception party took place. And we wish we would have been there as everyone had the time of their lives celebrating the newlyweds and dancing to the beats of DJ Samir Productions. For dinner time, all the guests enjoyed the mouth-melting plates prepared by Tandoor, right before having a bite at the delicious cake baked by Cakes by Reva. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Suraj during my first year of college. For him, it was love at first sight but I didn’t know at the time. He was always so quiet and mysterious. We slowly started texting and I would get butterflies when I saw his name. When I first heard his laugh, I knew he was special. His laugh is so infectious! Then, one random day, he wrote me a poem. And that was it.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
After 6 years of dating, we came back to our small college town for our medical school commencement ball. The day before, we were planning to get a nice dinner together. On the way, he decided to go to the park we used to always take walks in. He had our friend, Yoseph, set up 6 pictures of us throughout the park to represent our years together. At each picture, Suraj beautifully told me one (of the many) reasons he loves me. At the end, he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was perfect.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The best part of the process was going to India and shooting our pre-wedding video. We spent the day at the farm and Suraj got to drive a tractor around. We had so much fun with the whole day and felt like Bollywood actors!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Not sure about our guests but Suraj and I definitely enjoyed our reception the most. Suraj’s brother, Sagar, and my basically sister, Manisha organized such a wonderful night. They got all our families and friends to put together dances depicting how Suraj and I fell in love. They somehow also managed to teach Suraj a surprise dance for me. It was perfect.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment was when I was walking down the aisle with my uncles and brothers at my side. I saw my grandma dancing, my parents’ eyes filled with emotions and my husband-to-be anxiously waiting for me. After all the stresses of planning and making sure everything was perfect, it was happening! It was the most beautiful moment that I’ll never forget.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
You will spend countless of hours planning and making sure everything goes perfect. On the day of, take a breath and just enjoy the day (as impossible as it may seem). Only you will notice all the small things that aren’t going as planned.

That is all for today, darlings! Stay home, be safe, and don't forget to join us tomorrow for a new lovely story!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Neal and I met during a dance practice for one of our South Asian cultural shows at Boston College. Neal was dancing behind me and accidentally kicked me during one of the dance moves. I turned around and the first thing he said was "Let's hug it out." I didn't know him at the time so I was pretty shocked.  Fast forward a little over a year later, Neal and I had just started dating and he decided to take me on a picnic. It was a surprise but he took me to this spot he had discovered with one of his friends where we could see all of Boston. We sat at a picnic bench and he had gotten lunch for us. His favorite sandwich from a local deli and an ice cream cake... which had melted by the time we got to it. It was so sweet. That's when I knew he was special.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My best friend Oishee decided to take me out for a "girls day!" We are both doing our residency in New York and are always quite busy so she said we should have a day of pampering on a day when we were both off! She told me it would be fun to dress up even! We went to get our nails done, then cocktails at Beauty and Essex, some of our usual activities. She had a special reservation at a rooftop bar which we were running late for. Beauty and essex was taking some time with our order so they offered free champagne which my friend surprisingly turned down. If other things hadn't tipped me off, I knew something was up! She could tell I might suspect, so by the time we got to the roof she was nudging me towards the rooftop where we saw  Neal, facing the city skyline, rose petals all over the roof with candles. He turned around and I remember tears rushing down my face. I honestly can't even remember anything he said during his proposal but I said yes without hesitation. One of the happiest days of my life.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was certainly stressful especially during my first year of residency, but all I can say is that no wedding can be planned without the love and support of family and friends. I had my cousins and aunts who are always there for backup! My hair and makeup was done by Sanjana Vaswani who is like a fairy godmother. She helped me with the looks I wanted perfectly! Neal was the one who actually found her when he was doing his wedding research!  My decorations were done by Abhishek Decorators from Edison as well. They were able to recreate all of our ideas and make them a reality.  For our Sangeet we had bright colors with umbrellas and a swing where we watched all of the performances and speeches from our family and friends. We were even able to enter our sangeet on a colorful rickshaw! We had a traditional Kohinur circle mandap with flowers adorned at the top and a catwalk so all guests could see. Our reception decor was a perfect end for our fairytale! Hues of purple and pink with gold shimmer for our backstage. Our venue was the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, CT. The hotel was beautiful from the inside out with an indoor garden atrium. We didn't even have to leave the hotel for beautiful photos for both the bridal party and all of our guests. The sangeet was at the Serafina Italian Center which was a spectacular venue with beautiful greenery and high ceilings and chandeliers.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My wedding saree was actually from India. I'm a traditional South Indian girl at heart so I really wanted to wear a maroon Banarsi saree. My sangeet outfit and my reception gown were both from Nazraana in Edison, NJ. I had been looking on pinterest for the type of gown I wanted for my reception, I kept showing everyone a picture of this beautiful silver gown completely adorned with stone work. No one was able to find anything that compared. On a spur of the moment trip to Edison with my friend and her husband, we just thought we'd pop into Nazraana for fun. The exact outfit I had been dreaming of was there on the rack, I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I purchased it on the spot. I felt like Cinderella!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Well one thing which we had a lot of fun was food/cake tasting! We are both huge foodies and love trying new things. Our caterer was Chand Palace in New Jersey. The food was absolutely incredible! The chef was able to create new dishes based on our tastes and ideas. We also had an amazing viennese Dessert buffet which our guests loved! Our cake was from DiMare Bakery which was in CT near our venue. There were endless flavors to choose from!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests enjoyed many different parts of the wedding! At our Sangeet, our decorator created a selfie station, with a colorful rickshaw and a chudi bazaar.

The Hyatt also had a beautiful atrium with plenty of greenery inside which was great for photos as well!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My favorite moment from the wedding is our first look! I walked down into the atrium with trees all around us, and I put my hands over Neal's eyes from behind. He turned around and saw me. He told me I looked beautiful and nearly had tears in his eyes. But he quickly stopped and said No I can't cry because then you'll cry and ruin your makeup.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For our Sangeet we had bright colors with umbrellas and a swing where we watched all of the performances and speeches from our family and friends. We were even able to enter our sangeet on a colorful rickshaw! Our reception decor was a perfect end for our fairytale! Hues of purple and pink with gold shimmer for our backstage

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy every minute of it! Make sure you get what you want as it is your day! And don't forget to eat!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My photographer is Sangeeta from DeviKumari Images. Her and her brother Rishi were incredible! She was so inspiring and excited about our story it was so fun to shoot with her! We felt every moment and had the best time! Our videographer is Nayeem from BlissWedding Films. Our highlight film and engagement shoot in Boston was so much fun and we got to revisit our favorite spots where we fell in love and did it all over again!

We hope you are ready to have some fun because the next post coming down the road will take you to the impressive reception party that concluded with these wedding festivities!
