Atlanta, GA Indian Wedding by Jamie Howell Photography

Happy Friday, beauty queens! Can you believe how fast this week slipped through our fingers? It is unbelivable! Today, we want to start getting ready for the weekend by taking a look at Sanjida & Mohammad's wedding celebrated during the quarantine. So, get ready to have your hearts melted with tenderness and joy over this awe-inspiring event! Due to COVID-19, these lovebirds' entire wedding plans had to change. While this unfortunate situation could have made almost every other couple feel down and postpone their wedding, it only motivated Sanjida & Mohammad to unite their lives in marriage even with more eagerness. So, they embraced change, came up with a whole new plan, and decided to carry on with their wedding, making the necessary arrangements to comply with all safety measurements! The wedding took place at the Al-Farooq Masjid in Atlanta, GA, where these lovebirds surrounded themselves by their immediate family members. And all we have to say is that this intimate celebration was as meaningful as inspiring! Our gorgeous Sanjida burst into the scene, looking like a princess after being glamorized by Sumiyah Simji, who created a fabulous makeup and hairstyle that praised this Maharani's innate beauty. To complement this head-turning look, Sanjida donned a gorgeous attire from Mumtaz Fashion and got a spectacular Mehndi outlined by Manasi's Art / Hennafy Me. Hands down, a dreamy look for this long-awaited day! Ladies, if you want to enjoy all the beauty surrounding this wedding, don't miss all the captivating shots captured by Jamie Howell Photography in today's gallery. It is a visual delight that will surely take your breath away!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met the groom 4 years ago through some mutual friends and out of the 4 years, we did a long-distance relationship for 3 years. The bond that was formed over the 4 years and how we have been there for each other, helped me know that he was the one.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
It was my final semester at Georgia Tech, being a final semester electrical engineering student and planning a wedding at the same time are really difficult.
The experience was good with the makeup and hair. It was done by Sumiyah. Took a little longer than expected. I wanted an updo for my hair but due to time constraints we had to settle for a much simpler one.
The actual wedding dress never arrived on time so that was not a good feeling but we were set on the date we picked and we wanted to get married to we went ahead and did it.
Manasi did an amazing job doing my henna and I was more than happy with it. She took her time but listened to exactly what I wanted and followed through.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always wanted my wedding dress to be Ivory color. Funny story that my actual wedding dress did not come through due to the whole COVID-19 situation so we had to get a dress from the local store.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Planning a wedding is quite stressful if you're doing it during a global pandemic. Rather than being enjoyable, it was rather hectic knowing if it was gonna fall through or now.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Due to COVID-19, the entire wedding plan had to be cancelled. So the wedding took place we Al-Farooq mosque in Atlanta, GA with only about 10 people, our immediate family memebers

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I think the most special moment that I keep remembering is the first look I saw on my husband's face when he saw me the first on the wedding day and the big smile that he had when we were pronounced husband and wife.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don't try to do everything yourself. Let others help you but make sure they know what exactly you are expecting and the same goes with the wedding planner, the makeup artist, and all the other things. Make sure you do good research on their work and if they would actually fulfill all the requirements

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Most of the things about this wedding fell through due to the COVID-19 situation which is why I don't have much info. I wanted a big wedding just like everyone else but what mattered the most was I was marrying the person I love and that's the most important thing. Having the nikkah ceremony with the people who care the most had to be one of the best feelings ever and I would not have it any other way.

Enjoy your weekend, ladies! See you on Monday for more.

Chicago, IL Pakistani Wedding by Soda Fountain Photography

Happy Friday, beauty queens! There is no better way to end this week with a flourish than taking a look at a romantic love story that will leave you sighing as today's celebration of love is not just elegant but truly faithful to traditional Pakistani weddings. This time, we will join our two lovebirds, Amna & Ali, in their nuptial celebration hosted at the Intercontinental Chicago. The Simply Elegant Group designed and executed this event, and Yanni Design Studio transformed this exclusive venue's halls into a magical setting for these lovebirds to tie the knot. Although everything was impressive, our gorgeous Amna stole all the looks as she burst into the room looking like a goddess thanks to the stylish makeup and hairstyle designed by Appease to You! After exchanged vows and rings as a symbol of their everlasting love, all the guests celebrated the newlyweds to the rhythm of Shaadi Entertainment, who put everyone to dance. The only time the dancing stopped was to enjoy the delicious food prepared by Sabri and the sweet cake baked by Bittersweet Pastry Shop. Being this a life-changing event, it is no surprise that our young couple wanted to immortalize all the moments surrounding this day. That is why they decided to bring Soda Fountain Photography on board, and what a great decision it was! They went above and beyond, capturing shots from every angle, and the result is a set of visual masterpieces we cannot stop seeing! If you want to delight yourself with the fantastic photos captured during this celebration, make sure to visit this gallery. You will be amazed!

Mahwah, NJ Indian Wedding by Ami Video & Jay Arora Photography

Hello, ladies! Don't miss Sandhya & Nitin's wedding in today's Platinum Guide Blog. You will love it!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Nitin and I met through a dating website called “The League.” While I was somewhat skeptical that I would meet “the one” through a dating website, I thought it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, Nitin had been told by his sister to not look too overeager, and it took him a month to ask me out! I kept thinking “I’m done with this guy if he doesn’t ask me on a date” but then he would say something funny or cute, and I had to give him a little more time. After a few months of going on dates, we went to the movies to watch a Bollywood film, and we were cracking each other up in line for the snacks. I thought “if we can have this much fun just waiting on line for a movie, we can have fun anywhere.”

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Through a combination of deduction, seeing a Google Chrome tab open on his phone and a girls trip that got cancelled, I figured out that Nitin was going to propose to me on our “dating anniversary” at the Upper East Side restaurant Daniel. Nitin knew that I had a dream wedding ring picked out but he got a pair of earrings to propose with so that I could design my ring, so I knew something was up when I spotted the earrings on his phone. Daniel being the romantic spot that it is, and on a special date had my mind thinking we were getting engaged there, so I would mention in the days leading up to the date “I know you’re proposing to me with earrings at Daniel on Friday night.” What I didn’t know was that he managed a few surprises in that. First, he had my friend take me out before the dinner and convince me that because I had guessed the proposal, he cancelled the plan and was just taking me to anniversary dinner. He then planned for a bunch of our close friends to be on the roof of my apartment for a surprise engagement night party. Once at the restaurant, the wine and food were flowing and he got down on one knee while the waiter took photos…and didn’t propose! He told me that since I figured out the plan, and that he wanted it to be a surprise, he was not going to propose just yet. He gave me the earrings as an anniversary gift, and I thought “OK, it’s not tonight but it will be soon.” I then noticed Nitin looking around, and I jokingly said “are you looking for my Mom?” because I had told Nitin before that after getting engaged, I always wanted my Mom to be there. Nitin told me that my parents were not in the city, as they had another party to go to. Once I heard that, I started crying. Nitin of course got a little worried that I was crying so much, and he told me the waiters were taking us to a lounge area to have champagne and dessert for our anniversary. Tearfully, I followed Nitin into the lounge where I found our parents and our siblings who toasted us. Before I knew it, Nitin was on his knees for the second time, this time with a ring, and he said “I told you that I wouldn’t make you wait long. Sandhya, will you marry me.” And not to ruin the suspense, but I said yes!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning a wedding, especially an Indian wedding, is never really easy. In 2020, with the global pandemic, it added a new level to how trying the whole process could be! There were many late nights of calls, analyzing contracts, and just wondering if we could even have the wedding at all. As New Jersey state restrictions limited the number of people indoors, we had to move the ceremony outdoors and limit the number of guests, which meant 3 weeks before the date we had to move to an entirely new venue! I was very lucky to have our good family friend and wedding planning superstar Urvashi Mishra by my side during the whole experience, as she helped me walk through the whole replanning. For the sake of safety, we postponed the reception and other events to our 1 year anniversary next year, so in a way the wedding festivities have not ended yet! Finally, when the day actually came, the venue, hair and makeup, and décor all looked more incredible than we could have ever imagined. It was like being in a dream, and Nitin and I couldn’t believe how lucky we were to be married in the midst of such beauty. None of it would have been possible without Urvashi and our other wonderful vendors: Abhishek Decorators, DNS Event Solutions, Ami Photography, Jay Arora Photography, the Sheraton Mahwah and so many more.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My first plan was to wear mom’s wedding lehenga, which we took to India in early 2020. The plan was for it to be repolished and tailored by our tailor in Delhi, and to buy a deep rose gold lehenga for my reception. However, when we came back to the States and were shipped the clothes we had made in India, my reception lehenga arrived but in the wrong color! Blush pink instead of deep rose gold! But something totally unexpected happened – I fell in love with the pink lehenga once I saw it. In fact, I loved it so much that I made the reception lehenga my wedding lehenga (an easy choice since the reception was postponed for 1 year due to COVID). I did also manage to get the wonderful emotional significance of wearing something from my mom’s wedding, though. For one of the pre-wedding events, my Mom gave me a lehenga that she had made out of a sari her Dad gifted her at her own wedding. In the end, it all worked out amazingly and I couldn’t be happier.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
One of the parts of wedding planning I do miss is the trip I took with my Mom and Nitin to India at the start of the year. The shopping in Delhi filled our days, and especially was amazing for me to spend so much time with my Grandmother – she was on her feet with us all day, and probably had more energy than all of us at when we got back to our hotel at the end of each day! Nitin and I also got to visit his Grandmother and family in Bangalore which was fun because we were attending his cousin’s wedding there. It was beautiful to see an Indian wedding in India as I was planning my Indian wedding in America. The trip is extra special in my memory because neither of our Grandmothers in India were able to attend our ceremony in person due to the pandemic, so we will always cherish the memories of our trip, and look forward to visiting them again in India when we can.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
After the wedding, I heard from so many of the guests that they loved the ceremony, and they cited all sorts of different things. Some loved the custom protective face masks we provided our guests, designed by me and hand crafted in India just for our event. Many told me they loved the detailed program which I designed with my sister in law to explain all the different rituals and their significance, allowing our friends and family to follow along and understand each step of the way. Others loved the individual servings of Indian ice cream we provided during a break in the ceremony when I changed clothes from my lehenga to my sari. But above all the logistics, what our guests and I loved most were the beautiful vows Nitin wrote.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The first thing that comes to mind is the vows. They were a chance for us to share how incredible the moment was and how deeply in love we were feeling – the emotions were heightened, and I could feel all the love in the air.

We also held a small party for family and close friends on the Friday before the ceremony, where I surprised Nitin by doing a choreographed dance medley to several of our favorite Bollywood hits. Watching his eyes light up and seeing him sway and mouth the words, I could tell he was shocked, overjoyed, and so excited. He couldn’t help himself and even came on the floor in the middle of the performance get in on the fun!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The first thing I’d say is: there’s no such thing as standard or normal or wedding etiquette anymore. You can’t be ruled by what you think you’re supposed to do, or what some people might expect. The most important thing when you look back on your wedding is to know that you put together an event that lines up with what you, your husband, and your families really want and what makes you happy. Also if you can I’d strongly recommend having someone who is a dedicated “day of” coordinator. There will be so much going through your head on the wedding day, having someone who is focused on all the little things so that you can think about and feel the big things lets you enjoy the day more. And if you hire an amazing wedding planner like Urvashi everything will be taken care of before you even have to ask, and the day will feel like it’s supposed to feel: like magic.

Today's cinematographic delight by Ohana Films has everything you need to enjoy this celebration at its fullest. So, get ready to reach inspirational levels you have never experienced before! This time, we will take you on a visual trip to Haiku, Hawaii,  and, more specifically, to the Haiku Mill for you to take part in the wedding ceremony that united this lovely couple in marriage. And we want to make a big shoutout to Mira Savara Events for the perfect planning of this wedding celebration and Darren Keala for the incredible decor that set the mood for this life milestone. It was all a winning combination that we cannot stop seeing! Although the scenery was perfect, nothing compared to our lovely Maharani Kiran, who looked drop-dead gorgeous after being pampered by Maui Makeup Artistry. To end this wedding bash with a bang, Kiran & Grant celebrated their marriage with an intimate and elegant reception party hosted at the Andaz Maui At Wailea Resort. And all we have to say is that it was one celebration to remember! If you want to see more about all the fantastic details surrounding this celebration of love, hit the play icon below and get ready to enjoy this real-life fairytale. We are sure you are going to love every single detail of it!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Brought together by a personal matchmaker, Grant & I first crossed paths at the Claremont Hotel, Berkeley. We gabbed over cocktails & delicious eats for hours, closing the joint down. Our shared sense of humor and outlook on life unraveled so naturally, as though we had known each other all along. We left each other's company knowing in our hearts we would be together always.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
A romantic at heart, Grant wished to incorporate details in my life that he knew I held close to my heart. Knowing how passionate I was as an educator, he felt that nothing would best the setting of proposing to me in my classroom while involving my students and my principal who also had become a close friend of mine over the years.

After asking my father for his blessing, Grant put forth his plan on May 31st - my parents' anniversary - by arriving to school during the afternoon recess. While I heard the pandemonium garner momentum outside of the classroom, Grant was "stealthily" handing out roses to each student, who had become quite acclimated with him the past few months, dubbing us "Granjeet" as a "matrimony" of our names - Grant & Kiranjeet - while also mischievously writing cliched poetry and love notes on our behalf addressed to one another.

Once the bell rang, each student sauntered in to the classroom, desperately attempting to stifle their excitement, to present a rose to me with Grant finally handing me a rose himself, proclaiming his love and desire for us to be together every day for the remainder of our lives. As he knelt down to ask for my hand, my students finally let loose their giggles and gasps of gleeful anticipation, and when I responded with "yes", the screams, shrieks, and rapture were beyond containment. Plastic champagne glasses flowing with sparkling apple cider ensued, and, true to form, what a unique unforgettable shared experience Grant created for my students to participate in such a special, heartfelt moment!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Once we immediately fell in love with Haiku Mill, cosmic forces collided with Sabyasachi's 2017 Udaipur Collection. The lehengha's green & yellow hues on raw silk complimented the lush gardens of Haiku Mill fluidly as though the cloth itself was a natural extension of the organic vines and branches found throughout the grounds. Noticeably visible was the mosaic border of the lehengha as it continued as the floral print, becoming more English influenced, a metaphorical nod to our multicultural wedding's blend of customs.

In my mind's eye, I had long envisioned incorporating a rich tone of emerald green for my wedding lehenga, so discovering this particular design and scheme was quintessential kismat. Simply stated, the wedding dress and the stunning venue was a match made in heaven.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
It was our best endeavor to have all of our guests regarded as one OHANA during the course of our shared time in Maui. We heard from a plethora of friends and family how special and close knit they came to feel with how each event integrated both sides together seamlessly, encouraging new relationships and bonds to form and remain established even to this day. From the onset, Grant & I strongly desired for our wedding to allow everyone to feel like a part of the "inner circle of trust."

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
With that ring comes ALOT of "responsibility". How right you are mom!

Never compromise yourself. You're all you've got.     Janice Joplin

See you tomorrow for more. We have a new love story that you don't want to miss!
