Miami, FL Engagement by Vanessa and Johnny Photography

Happy Friday, beautiful ladies! Another week is gone, and we are rapidly approaching the weekend; and what better way to do it than taking a look at a romantic love story that will make you feel inspired! Today's feature is going to start a little differently than we usually do things around here. This time, we won't be taking a look at a wedding celebration. Even better, we'll be taking a look at how a happily ever after begins by taking you on a visual journey through Pooja & Shaan's engagement ceremony. How amazing is that! This engagement ceremony hosted at Shaan's Family Home was a step forward in Pooja & Shaan's dream of becoming husband and wife. And we are so happy they are getting closer to fulfilling their dream as just by seeing them together in the impressive shots captured by Vanessa and Johnny Photography and Films, you can tell that they are a match made in heaven! Pavan Events exceeded all expectations creating a minimalist yet striking decor in soft pastel hues that we loved so much! Just take a look at the fabulous wall of flowers. If that doesn't say beauty, few things will! And talking about beauty, we want to take a moment to admire Pooja's fabulous look after being pampered by Javeria Bhimla. The nude makeup combined with the classy outfit from Priya Chhabria made Pooja look like a goddess, and we are a little jealous of how stunning her engagement look was! If you can't get enough of this beautiful event, make sure to take a look at today's full gallery. You'll love it so much!

Lake Geneva, WI Stylized Shoot by Sapan Ahuja Photography

Planning your special day during the coldest time of the year? Then the next round of images is just what you are looking for to spark your inspiration! The wealth of ideas provided by this winter stylized photoshoot are endless and breaks the traditional rules. VP Impressions planned the concept, and Chicago-based photo artist team Sapan Ahuja Photography created the timeless photographs we are about to see. The photo team managed to capture the charm of each bride beautifully and the over-the-top decor details that decked the setting. The spectrum of striking colors is so vibrant, and the breathtaking ice-carved tunnels from Ice Castles were the perfect backdrop. This spectacular attraction of thousands of icicles gave the right touch of winter glam atmosphere. Utterly magical and romantic! I love the hanging ribbon display that featured blue, aqua, and white garlands with bells that gave a festive touch to the scene. Makeup By Karishma transformed the ladies into whimsical winter Maharanis with impeccable makeup that included blue shades, bold lipsticks, and even a bit of sparkly frost. Bridal hairstyles were as magical as the makeup. Makeup By Karishma created alluring soft-lock looks, proving that you don't need an intricate updo to look elegant for your big day. These stunning Indian brides nailed the frosty look with Krishna Fashion House's embellished Lehenga Cholis. The fashion house dressed our beautiful models with a selection of intricate patterns and colors that ranged from a delicate mint green, soft cloud blue to an exquisite cream color. Each ensemble was perfectly paired with sparkly silver crystal jewelry that took each outfit to the next level and brightened things up a little more. Bravo to all the great vendors for the extraordinary collabs and execution of such a unique photo shoot. Go to our complete gallery and get some elegant and unique seasonal cues from this wonderful winter stylized photoshoot.

Woodbridge, NJ Indian Fusion Wedding by 1314 Studio

Welcome back, beautiful Maharanis! This week is full of many festivities, and here at Maharani Weddings, we want to start it by bringing you a new love story that will make you sigh! To begin this journey, we are taking you to the exclusive Ariana's Grand, the ideal venue chosen by Javeria & Mohsin, our today's lovebirds, to tie the knot! And we must say that the way everything was set up, organized, and orchestrated left us speechless, and we are sure that you will be inspired by the talented team from Events By Srishti, who captured our lovely duo's vision and created the wedding of their dreams. Just beautiful! Speaking of beauty, Javeria, our gorgeous Maharani, dazzled everyone with a royalty look throughout the entire gala. No wonder why Raja Mohsin couldn't take his eyes off of her. It is incredible to see how two different cultures mingle together to celebrate the eternal union of their favorites. Once the ceremony ended, an unforgettable wedding reception hosted at the 5 star banquets started.  And we loved how everyone had a blast chatting, enjoying the delicious food, the emotional speeches, and of course, the phenomenal beats from Luxe Event Group and DJ Salman NYC. They turn this gala into a real party. To conclude this installment, let me invite you to relive this epic celebration by visiting today's gallery, thanks to the fantastic photo captures taken by 1314 Studio. I bet you will love them as much as we did. So enjoy it!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
He's been my best friend since we were in high school. Always knew he was the one!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My husband drove all the way from Brooklyn to NJ with my sister in law and his 3 nieces to a park near me and set up a balloon arch that said Marry me with rose petals all over the floor. My siblings blind folded me and then he took me to the spot he set up and got down on one knee. I knew the whole time what was going to happen, but it was still really special.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I know I wanted a traditional red lengha. I went to the bridal market in Pakistan with my parents with only 8 days to shop for my entire wedding due to work/vacation time and we spent all day looking to find the perfect lengha. My parents saw it and loved it first and at first I wasn't so sure until they put it up against me and put the dupatta on my head as I looked in the mirror.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The little details like the making the diya plates was such a fun activity to do with my sister. We got to be creative and it was one of the things I really looked forward to doing because I could take my vision and bring it to life.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My father daughter dance was the most special and emotional moment of the whole wedding. We danced to "Half the Man" by Jennifer Smestad and we cry everytime we hear the song or watch the video.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
You can't control everything & if you can get a planner or day of coordinator. They handled everything the day of and saved me so much stress. A lot of changes were made and a lot of things could have went wrong, did go wrong because of covid but I didn't focus on any of it nor did I need to because I was too busy enjoying my special day all thanks to the special people behind the scenes!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
This was the first wedding in my family so there were ofcourse a lot of firsts. We got lucky in many ways with the amazing people we booked, but we booked some non so great vendors/venues as well. Firstly, I booked eventsbtsrishti as my day of coordinator and there's no words that could describe my gratitude to her and her team on making my dad as amazing as it was. They're a forever vendor for me and my family and I can't reccomend them enough. 1314 studio was my photographer/videographer and they're worth every penny, their work is amazing! Lake chateau was by far the best venue we booked, they were so accommodating & the venue was beautiful. Pinhos bakery has been a family favorite bakery, they made my sweet16 cake & now my wedding cake. BeautyByTamanna was my hair and makeup artist and her work speaks for itself, she's kind, respectful and SO talented. Food was catered from Sunshine restaurant and we got many compliments! DJ salman and Amplifire Entertainment were our Djs and they did a great job keeping the flow of the day going and keeping people on their feet during open dancefloor.

If you loved this one, I bet you will adore what we have prepared for tomorrow. So come back!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
February 24, 2018. That’s when it went down at the Chihuly Glass Museum in Seattle, WA. My husband was finishing his last semester of law school, and I had an inkling that he would propose in May 2018 after graduating, since all of our families would be together for his graduation. This is why when we took a trip to one of his favorite cities, just a few months prior, a proposal was the farthest thing from my mind. He forced me to dress a little fancy prior to heading to the museum (I thought this was weird and should have expected something) and had made sure my friends had me get a manicure prior to the trip. We walked around the museum with a few of his college friends, one of whom had a fancy camera that he was using to “practice taking good pictures”. Once we entered the open gallery room, he got on one knee and proposed! I was so shocked that I just stood there staring down at him saying, “is this for real” repeatedly, until I finally said yes. Later, I learnt that he had picked the Museum for a number of reasons: 1) he knew I had never been and wanted to go, 2) proposing in Seattle would be totally unexpected, and 3) given that the Museum had glass gardens and flowers, it was beautiful year round, and there was no possibility of weather interfering with his plans.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our decision-making process for the venues and vendors was 90% driven by our budget. We knew we wanted to do a wedding in Dallas and that a hotel was going be the best option since an overwhelming majority of the guests would be flying into Dallas from out of state. We researched options, toured, made pro-con lists, and the Renaissance Dallas was finally selected, particularly because not only did it fall within our budget, but it gave us the ability to have our ceremony outdoors, which had been my dream!

For decor, since the wedding was going to be three separate events and we would have three completely different outfits, we wanted each event to feel different and intentional. We started planning our decor themes with the ceremony and knew that we wanted an outdoor morning ceremony, and so soft light tones and pastels (i.e. light pink, ivory, pale gold, mint green, etc) were going to be perfect. We wanted the Sangeet the night before to feel fun and cultural as a good way to kick off the weekend, so we wanted lots of bright colors and decor that screamed festive. Finally, the reception as the closing piece needed to feel grand and bold. Once we had these ideas nailed down, our decorator was able to take them and run and bring us back a vision that absolutely floored us.

I don’t think I could’ve gotten the Bridal looks I had envisioned if I had not gone with Red Lotus Artistry. From day one, when we began with the makeup trial, Vidya listened very closely to what kind of styles and looks I was a fan of, and what I simply couldn’t stand. For example, I wanted to refrain from heavy eyeliner on the lower lid for the ceremony, given that we were going with the softer tones theme, and given that I hate lipstick, I only agreed to move forward with lighted lip shades for most of the wedding events. You want a makeup/hair artist who believes in what you do and don’t like, and doesn’t only try to impose his or her views. Your bridal makeup artist also needs to know exactly what hiccups to expect when getting ready for your wedding events, and that’s exactly what Vidya addressed during our consultation meeting. During the consultation, Vidya and I discussed how my dupattas would be draped and we ran through how every single piece of jewelry would be worn for each event. The meeting was time consuming, yet so informative and it kept us on the same page the weekend of the wedding.

We initially were worried about identifying and communicating with the vendors in Dallas, because we both lived in Washington, DC. Luckily, we had the absolute best wedding planner, Christina Thomas at Elaan Events, to help navigate us through the process. She was able to give us multiple options within our budget for each vendor, and made sure we were 100% happy with each one before proceeding onto the next matter. It has now been three months since the wedding took place, and we can look back with certainty that each was the best choice.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Pink. My bridal lehanga was destined to be a shade of pink since god knows when. Walking into Om Parkash Jawahar Lal in Chandni Chowk in New Delhi, and seeing all of the endless options of dazzling lehengas, something clicked and I knew that even though this was the first shop we were visiting, it would be the last and my lehenga would have to come from here. Luckily, my parents and aunts had already done their homework by visiting this shop prior to me even landing in New Delhi, so that made me feel even more comfortable with sticking to Om Parkash Jawahar Lal...which I highly recommend, brides!

Given that pink was non-negotiable, and that we wanted the ceremony to be pastel themed, accenting my lehenga with sea green was the perfect choice, especially since my husband loves the color green and was happy to find a sea green sherwani with light pink accents to compliment my outfit.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Hands down the food and cake tastings were the most enjoyable parts of the planning process. Is it possible that amidst the minutiae of wedding planning and logistics, anything could have been more enjoyable than being fed a variety of scrumptious appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and then making decisions with our stomachs instead of our minds? Although I’ve got to say, pinning wedding outfits and henna designs to my Pinterest boards, which I’d share with my mother and mother-in-law to get their input, was also exciting and not stressful, so I’d consider this a close second.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The Ceremony! One would think that a late morning ceremony, on the terrace of the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, with perfect weather that wasn’t too hot or cold, with absolutely stunning soft pastel decor would have been what made the ceremony so memorable. But, all of that ended up being sides to the entree, that was the priest, Panditji Pattabhirama Krishna Jois. The guests were blown away by the fact that our traditional Hindu priest not only spoke in excellent English and was able to easily explain every step, but also that he was funny and engaging to a point where he felt as though he was an emcee. Many of our guests had not been to a traditional desi wedding before, and instead of sitting there bored and confused for an hour, they were entertained and were able to feel like they were part of all of the rituals.

Long story short, the engaging ceremony coupled with the perfect environment/vibe is something our guests have not stopped talking about.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
I feel like every bride, who has her wedding fresh in her mind, has all kinds of knowledge they want to impart on all brides-to-be. Here are my two cents:

1) Enjoy the engagement period for at least the first 1-2 months before you dive into planning mode. You really want to take that time to just be on cloud nine before you become occupied with dates, locations, and the endless wedding related decisions to be made.

2) The wedding planning process is like running a marathon. Don’t sprint!! Sticking to deadlines is essential, which your planner will guide you on. But don’t try to do everything at once. During this process, remember to keep an open dialogue with your fiance! Your partner needs to be a part of the conversations. Remember, it’s not just your marathon!

Chicago, IL Indian Wedding by Rahul Rana Photography

Darlings, don't miss Roshani & Parshva's long-awaited wedding bash in today's Platinum Guide Blog!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
My husband and I met when we were in high school, but we didn't start dating until after college. We talked every so often but since we went to different universities we didn't see each other much until we moved back home. I think I knew he was "the one" after our first "official" date. We had already become very close as friends so taking our relationship to the next level was a very natural transition.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I knew my husband was going to propose some time in 2018, I just wasn't sure when. That is, until he walked into my house at 7:30am on a Saturday wearing a dress shirt and blazer. That kinda gave it away. He took me to Navy Pier and proposed in the ferris wheel when we got to the top. Even though I knew it was coming, I still couldn't stop myself from crying my eyes out. Our proposal was private, but we met up with our family and friends afterwards to celebrate. It was one of the happiest days of my life.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We had a lot of help from our family. We both have sisters and cousins who were so helpful when it came to finding the perfect venue, vendors, and decor theme. We were also determined to stick to our budget as much as we could. My husband was extremely helpful with this as he is very organized when it comes to planning and finances. Things can get crazy and add up with all of the events, vendors, gifts, etc. but he had this awesome spreadsheet that he used to keep track of it all.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to wear red. I saw an outfit online that was made by an Indian designer and I fell in love. I was able to find another designer through Instagram who could re-create any Indian outfit and decided to give them a chance. They were my first stop when I went to Mumbai. I actually didn't look at any other bridal outfits while I was in India, I knew what I wanted and I had to have it. I'm so happy with the decision I made and how my outfit turned out.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The food tastings! We loved sampling all of the different items and creating a menu of our favorites.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The entertainment. We are so lucky to have family and friends who went above and beyond with emceeing, performances, and speeches.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There so many that come to mind, but the one that sticks out most is our first dance together as husband and wife. Everything about that moment was perfect.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the planning process and delegate! You spend about a year planning your wedding and even though it can feel stressful at times it will be over before you know it. It's important to take things one day at a time and ask your family and friends for help when you need it. This will make the whole process go smoother and your loved ones will also be happy that they were able to be a part of your big day.
