Chicago, IL Sikh Wedding by Aria Films

There are weddings, and then there are weddings. Sunana & Vikram's celebration at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg Chicago was nothing short of cinematic—think Bollywood meets modern elegance with a sprinkle of heartfelt magic. Let's dive into the unforgettable day with us smiling, tearing up, and dancing along (even from behind our screens).

The grandeur of this Indian wedding was brought to life by Yanni Design Studio, which transformed the venue into a wonderland of romance and tradition. Imagine cascading florals, golden mandap accents, and flickering candles creating an ethereal glow. It wasn't just a venue—it was a dream woven into reality.

Planning and design by Priti Sweet Weddings ensured that every detail, from the ceremony to the reception, was flawless. As the night drew close, guests enjoyed decadent desserts and heartfelt goodbyes, sending Sunana & Vikram off into their happily-ever-after.

Sunana, dazzling in a Mandeep creation by CrossoverChicago, walked down the aisle like the heroine of a love story. The red and gold ensemble perfectly complemented the intricate henna designs on Sunana's hands, each swirl and pattern telling a story of tradition and beauty. Adding to her glow, Rimsha Khan, a true artist, worked her magic with flawless hair and makeup.

The team at Aria Films has a way of turning fleeting moments into timeless memories. Their use of light, movement, and sound painted a picture that was nothing short of breathtaking. But it wasn't just the visuals that stole the show. The sound design—meticulously layered with the laughter of loved ones, the rhythmic beats of the baraat, and the heartfelt words of the couple's vows—added a profoundly immersive quality to the film. Every note and word resonated, drawing viewers into the day's magic as if they were celebrating alongside the couple.

This spectacular celebration, filled with laughter and unforgettable memories, is one for the books.

Red Oak, TX Fusion Wedding by CG Photography & Video

A love story so enchanting it seamlessly intertwines the vibrancy of South Asian traditions with the timeless elegance of Western ceremonies. Natasha & Ravi’s wedding was nothing short of a blockbuster event, spanning three magical days at the stunning Dallas Oasis, with every moment curated perfectly by Rama Bhat. Get ready to swoon as we dive into the cinematic highlights of this unforgettable celebration!

The festivities started with an enchanting poolside Mehndi evening, where Natasha dazzled in a breezy floral lehenga as her hands were adorned with intricate henna patterns by Meenas Mehndi. Twinkling fairy lights and the soft hum of laughter set the tone for a joyous celebration of love and culture. Ravi, ever the romantic, couldn’t stop stealing glances at his bride-to-be. (Cue the “aww” moment!)

Day two began with a radiant Haldi ceremony in the garden, drenched in hues of sunshine yellow. Natasha & Ravi, dressed in coordinating yellow ensembles, were happy as friends and family showered them with love (and turmeric!). As the sun dipped below the horizon, the Sangeet became a full-blown Bollywood musical. Think dazzling lights, a kaleidoscope of colorful outfits, and dance moves that could rival a Karan Johar movie! Natasha & Ravi’s choreographed performance was the show-stopper, leaving the audience cheering for an encore.

The final day was a true fusion of traditions. The morning began with a grand Hindu ceremony, with a majestic Baraat arrival on a white horse by Brazos Carriage Horse. Ravi’s entrance was nothing short of regal. Natasha’s bridal outfit, a deep red lehenga adorned with gold embroidery, turned heads as she walked down the aisle under a floral canopy crafted by Elegant Affairs. As the sun set, the scene shifted to an ethereal Christian ceremony by the waterfall. Now, in a sleek white gown with a cathedral veil, Natasha walked down the aisle with a bouquet of fresh white blooms. Ravi, looking dapper in a classic tuxedo, awaited her at the altar. The blending of cultures was a poignant reminder of their love that transcends traditions.

Can’t get enough of Natasha & Ravi’s stunning wedding? You’re in for a treat! The talented CG Photography & Video captured every precious moment with unparalleled artistry, from the intimate smiles exchanged during the Mehndi to the Hindu ceremony's grandeur and the Christian vows' timeless elegance. Their ability to weave light, color, and emotion into every frame is magical.

Ravi and I met at the University of Iowa at the start of college, and since then, Chicago has become a special place for us—filled with friends, memories, and traditions. Every St. Patrick’s Day weekend, we gather with our closest friends for a reunion, and this year, Ravi had something special planned.

We celebrated at 2-Twenty-2, a cozy bar near Exchequer, surrounded by all our friends—some from Chicago, some who traveled far—to toast eight amazing years and the promise of forever. Chicago will always hold a special spot in our hearts, and on that snowy afternoon, it became even more memorable.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Choosing my wedding dress, or should I say dresses, was a journey that reflected the blending of two traditions and two families. Our Indian-American fusion wedding brought together both a Hindu ceremony and a Christian celebration, and each part felt equally special.

Our journey began in Gujarat, Ravi’s home state in India. Traveling with Ravi, his mom Dipa, and our Mama, Keyur, we set off in Vadodara to Shiv’s Occasion, a beautiful saree and lengha shop. We spent hours sitting cross-legged on the floor, combing through fabrics and designs. That’s when I found it: the perfect maroon wedding lengha—detailed, elegant, and everything I had dreamed of. We celebrated the moment with chai that was delivered to us as we admired the choice.

Next came the search for my Christian wedding dress. This part of the journey took me to Dallas, where my mom and future sister-in-law, Shivani, joined me for a few store visits. We started with brunch, a few mimosas in hand, and the search began with laughter, excitement, and plenty of options. While we got close to a choice, I knew it wasn’t THE dress.

On the day after Christmas, I made one more stop at a local bridal store, Teresa's Bridal, near my hometown in Iowa. I was with my two sister-in-laws, my mom, and my 1-year-old niece. It was a sweet, quiet moment—one that felt just right—as I tried on the dress. When I said yes, it was a mix of relief, excitement, and joy. Another item checked off the list, and another step closer to forever.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
One of the most enjoyable parts of our wedding planning journey was the process of experiencing it together. From touring venues to meeting with vendors, exploring options side by side made it all feel so much more special.

Working with our incredible coordinator, Rama Bhat, was a highlight. Her deep knowledge of the Dallas-area wedding industry and connections to trusted vendors brought so much ease to the planning process. She truly knew the ins and outs, making everything flow seamlessly.

We were also fortunate to have Carlos and Alejandra of CG Photography as our photographers. They brought such kindness, thoughtfulness, and professionalism to the table, capturing each moment of our three days of events with grace, love, and storytelling that we’ll treasure forever.

And of course, learning our Sangeet Bollywood dance with Pratap Singh from Nritya Dance Studio in Plano, TX, was an unforgettable and joyful experience. It was a blend of laughter, rhythm, and fun—one of those moments that made the entire journey feel uniquely ours.

From venue tours to dance rehearsals, the planning process was full of memories that we’ll always cherish. It was more than just details; it was about creating moments, memories, and connection.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests absolutely loved the unique fusion of Indian and American elements at our wedding! The venue, The Dallas Oasis, was a standout—it felt like a tropical escape just south of Dallas, with its stunning lawn waterfall and picturesque spaces for photos. Guests of all ages enjoyed the yard games, creating a fun and lively atmosphere for everyone.

The food was a huge hit! Our caterer, Sanjay from Richi Catering, crafted an incredible menu blending flavors for everyone, including an authentic Indian lunch featuring dishes from Ravi's home state—a meaningful and delicious touch.

Our DJ, Arjun from Events by Orion, set the tone for two days of unforgettable dancing and memories. The decor brought everything together so beautifully—thanks to Suman at Elegant Affairs and Stacy at Simply Elegant. Imperial Dance Floors added the perfect finishing touch, making every moment feel elegant and special.

It was a celebration filled with love, joy, and so many unforgettable moments!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
A moment that will forever stay in our hearts is how our family and friends came together to make our wedding so special. My mom’s love and dedication shone throughout the celebrations, as she, along with my grandpa, uncle, brother, and his fiancée, helped prepare for the Pujas and Haldi with so much care and thoughtfulness. One of my uncles also beautifully captured cherished memories through his incredible work with DCMarsh Photo.

My sister-in-law created our Antarpat with love, and Ravi’s sister was like a second wedding planner, guiding us every step of the way. Our friends were truly extraordinary, stepping in whenever and wherever they could—whether it was helping with setup, lending a hand during events, or simply being there to keep things running smoothly. Everyone's energy, love, and willingness to do whatever was needed made the celebrations even more unforgettable.

The love, effort, and support from everyone meant the world to us. None of it went unnoticed, and we are so deeply grateful. We love you all!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Some of the most unforgettable experiences from our wedding came from the amazing vendors who helped bring our vision to life. One of my favorite memories was working with Jay Bhavani Jewellers in Vadodara, Gujarat, during our trip to India. Rahul helped us design our wedding bands and select a beautiful mangal sutra. The entire experience was so special, and our wedding bands turned out stunning—I can’t wait to go back in the future.

Our cake, crafted by Dulce Delicia Bakery, was another highlight. Sharon was so kind throughout the process, and not only was the cake a work of art, but it also tasted incredible.

On the day of the wedding, my makeup artist, Angelina Jasmin, was exceptional. She made sure my makeup was flawless and exactly what I wanted, helping me feel radiant and confident as I walked down the aisle.

Each of these experiences added something truly memorable to our celebration, and we’re so grateful for the talented people who made our day even more special.

Natasha & Ravi’s celebration proves that love knows no bounds—simply stunning!

Tuscany, IT Sikh Wedding by Francesco Garufi

Kiran & Gurj's love story took a magical turn during a romantic holiday in Dubai. After a lovely dinner, Gurj surprised Kiran with a blindfold and led her across the beach. As he removed it, Kiran was greeted with the most enchanting scene—a pathway of twinkling lights leading to a setup of strawberries, champagne, and Polaroid pictures of their shared memories. The words "Marry Me" glowed in fairy lights as the sun set, and in that unforgettable moment, Gurj got down on one knee and proposed. It was a perfect memory Kiran would cherish forever.

When it came time to plan their wedding, Kiran & Gurj knew they wanted a destination wedding that combined luxury and charm, and they found exactly that at Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco. Nestled in the stunning Tuscan hills, the venue offered breathtaking views and the perfect blend of elegance and Italian character. With BIWI as their wedding planner, the couple worked through every detail, from their pastel-themed ceremony with soft florals in shades of mauve and purple to their vibrant, colorful Jaggo night that reflected their Punjabi heritage. The welcome party embraced traditional Italian charm with authentic decor featuring classic prints and lemons. The BIWI team crafted mood boards for each event, helping them visualize how the celebration would come together.

For her bridal look, Kiran had always envisioned wearing ivory. She found the perfect wedding lengha from Faiza Saqlain, a stunning hand-embroidered tulle and silk adorned with intricate floral motifs. The lengha, crafted using dabka, zardozi, and resham embroidery techniques, captured Kiran's vision of elegance and tradition.

One of Kiran's most cherished moments from the wedding was her first dance with Gurj as husband and wife. Under a canopy of fairy lights surrounded by friends and family, the moment felt like a fairytale, capturing the magic of their love and the beauty of the day. The rich traditions, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable personal touches made their wedding a remarkable celebration.

We were out for a lovely dinner whilst on holiday in Dubai. After the dinner, Gurj suggested we go for some drinks at one of the bars near the beach. As we approached the bar in the taxi, he hands me a blindfold and tells me to put it on. He walked me across the beach and as he unfolded the blindfold, I saw the most magical and romantic set up with a path of twinkling lights leading to strawberries and champagne, polaroid pictures capturing our shared memories and the words "Marry Me' in fairy lights. Once we had confirmed we wanted a destination wedding in Italy and had picked BIWI as our wedding planner, we started making arrangements to view venues. We instantly fell in love with Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco. Located in the Tuscan hills with the most incredible views, we just knew it had the luxurious feel yet maintaining the Italian charm we were looking for. Hair & Make up was an easy decision as I knew who my number one choices were and just had everything crossed for them to be available. Thankfully, both of these artists were and they were just as excited as me to bring my vision to life! I always knew I wanted the theme to be pastel, soft florals. We decided on the colour mauve and different hues of purple to be the main choice of theme for the wedding ceremony and Reception. The welcome party would bring authentic italian charm with traditional italian prints, lemons. The Jaggo/sangeet night, we wanted it to be a burst of colour to reflect our traditional punjabi culture.  The BIWI team created wonderful mood boards for each event, noting colours and ideas of flowers and accessories so we could visualise how it would all come together.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had always envisioned to wear Ivory for my wedding lengha with intricate embroidary so when I came across Faiza Saqlain's beautiful hand embroidered tulle and silk lengha, adorned in stunning floral motifs using dabka, zardozi and resham among other hand embroidery techniques, I knew I had found the one.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Online via Shaadi! Just when I had begun to give up on dating, Satish came along and, from our first conversation, was so easy to talk to and the first guy to genuinely make me laugh out loud. My mother passed away 11 years ago, and her death anniversary is always a hard time, no matter how many years have passed. I knew he was special when he remembered the actual date of her anniversary and sent me a message that he was thinking of me that day (and this was before our first date!). I knew he was different as no one else had ever done that if I had mentioned it or just avoided the topic. From our first date to a year into marriage, I have been constantly amazed by the wonderful man he is, and I am not sure what I did in life to deserve such an amazing partner. Falling in love with him was so easy even despite being long distance, as he was everything I had been looking for and needed in life and well worth the wait! (We met when he was 38 and I was 37. We were engaged after 1 year and married 1.5 years from our first date!)

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
All of our vendors were wonderful! We had decided to do a destination wedding since we were getting married in February and he is from Detroit and I am from New York and chose Tampa, Florida because of the weather and the ease for our guests to travel there since it's a short plane ride away. Most of our vendors we only met on the day of our wedding as we communicated mainly through email/video chats but they were all wonderful and did an amazing job.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The hotel was beautiful, but the food and decor at our reception were especially amazing!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Walking down the aisle and seeing Satish at the end was definitely the biggest highlight. I think seeing our mandap and reception decor was my next favorite. Our reception decor, especially, literally made my jaw drop and came out even better than we could have imagined!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We knew we wanted colors that were vibrant and would pop and so we chose pink and purple, which are also two of my favorite colors. All the flowers and decor were beautiful in the pictures/video. I had originally thought my nieces/nephews were going to do a dance for our reception but my extended family surprised us with a dance and they all did such an amazing job and we loved it!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take time to enjoy the day because it will go by fast! The planning process is stressful, and something will go wrong or not as you had imagined the day, but as long as you are marrying your best friend, none of it matters at the end of the day.

A masterpiece of love, beautifully crafted leaving a legacy of memories to cherish forever.
