Maharani Manpreet, on what she enjoyed most about planning her Desi dream wedding:

"The most truthful answer to what we enjoyed the most about planning our wedding rests in the connections we created, nurtured and grew between ourselves and our family and friends. We're talking about working equally and equitably between my husband and myself, the consults and opinions our families provided us and our celebrations with our friends in Las Vegas and San Francisco. These are the indelible moments that fill our minds when we think about what we enjoyed the most about planning our wedding."

On her most memorable wedding moments:

"We had an intimate dinner with our close family, friends and out of town guests on a private ranch in Malibu on the evening of our wedding. It was a perfect setting to share our thoughts and feelings with people who would genuinely care and listen. We had a total of six speeches before we shared our thoughts.

What I didn't know is that my husband, Sandy, wrote and published a book filled with what I mean to those closest to me. Unbeknownst to me, he spent the previous three months interviewing my parents, siblings, cousins and friends. Then, in front of our closest friends and family, Sandy read excerpts from the book identifying what each person shared about me. In a way, he circumvented the logistical restrictions of having 10 people make speeches by capturing and sharing what they said in this format. He closed his speech by describing our first date and the gift he gave me on that day - a book he inscribed to a "kindred spirit, an iridescent light." He then presented me with his first gift to me as husband and wife. A book he entitled: "Manpreet Samra: An Iridescent Light.""

Party perfect details are right around the corner, so stay tuned!

Maharani Manpreet, on Raja Sandeep's memorable proposal:

"My romantic husband, Sandy, planned a day at our four most memorable date sites in Chicago. We started at the Art Institute, drove north on Lake Shore Drive and Sheridan Road to the Baha'i Temple, Ravinia and his parents house in Lake Forest for dinner. At each stop, Sandy gave me a card and asked me not to open it. Sensing something was brewing, I recalled joking with Sandy that I would propose to him with a Fruit Loop. After the Art Institute, I bought a box of Fruit Loops but noticed that a Fruit Loop wouldn't fit on this finger. I quickly changed my plans and told Sandy a red fruit loop meant "no" and a green fruit loop meant "yes" to any question he asked me that day.

We reached Sandy's parents' home and entered from the front door where both of our families were lined up with candles in their hands and a violinist playing in the foyer. My parents and siblings live in California so to see them in Lake Forest, IL stopped my heart for a millisecond. Describing this moment still brings tears to my eyes two and half years later. We hugged our families and walked to the backyard with the violinist and photographer ahead of us.

We stepped inside a gazebo Sandy built and which Sandy lined with pictures from our first date to our last date as boyfriend and girlfriend. Inside the gazebo, Sandy asked me to open the four cards he gave me earlier in the day. Each card had the word "love" written in a different language. The first card said "will", the second card said "you", the third card said "marry" and the final card said "me." At this point, Sandy took out an engagement ring and asked if I would marry him. Instead of saying yes, I pulled out a handful of green Fruit Loops. Sandy took the green Fruit Loops, put the ring on my finger and astutely asked me for a verbal confirmation as we hugged to which I said yes! We then went back inside the home and celebrated the rest of the night with our families."

Join me later today as we unveil the vibrant and unforgettable details from Manpreet and Sandeep's Sikh ceremony!
