We are just moments away from seeing Priya and Rohan say their I do's, but before that happens, Studio Nine Photography + Cinema gives us an enticing visual tour of their first look photo shoot in Massachusetts. Our Maharani is a beautiful South Indian bride donning a hot pink silk sari with a long braid wrapped in fresh flowers. Makeup artist Shreni Patel gives her bronze-toned shadows and a dark lip. And for a finishing and artistic touch, Henna Cafe covers her hands and arms in a stunning mehndi design. Cozying up close to his bride, Rohan is the perfect complement in a red and cream sherwani. And, not to be left out are the bridal party and groomsmen who are bold in bright fashion - magenta saris and royal blue sherwanis. Everyone looks great, and you can see all of their shoot in the gallery!
From the bride, on her hair, fashion and jewelry:
"For my hair, I wore the traditional South-Indian style braid and 'thalai samaan'. I am the last girl in my very big family to get married. My mom is one of seven sisters and they have been the ones to 'dress the hair' of every girl in the family that has gotten married, including my mom! So, I got my hair done for the morning ceremony by my mom's oldest 3 sisters from India. It was so special to have them do this for me, as I could only think about how they had put the same hair dressing on my own mother some 30 years ago :). I wore a traditional pure silk saree from Tamilnadu. It was hot pink (my favorite color) with gold zari embedded all throughout. My jewelry for the morning was all real gold and diamonds. Necklaces included a diamond necklace from my parents, a diamond necklace from Rohan's parents, a 'manga-malai' and a 'kaasha-malai'. These are very traditional south-indian necklaces. I also wore an 'Odiyanam,' or traditional gold belt and had fresh 'malli-poo' or jasmine flower draped all throughout my hair.
The ceremony shots are straight ahead!
