Maharanis! We are finally saying goodbye to winter, and we are getting the first signs that spring is on its way. To celebrate the prettiest of the seasons today, we unveil an amusing styled shoot that guarantees plenty of ideas and inspiration for your soiree. In a collaborative effort, a great team of wedding professionals came together seamlessly and created a versatile theme, that can easily be adapted to any Indian wedding and style. This beautiful inspiration shoot took place at The Graham Mill in North Carolina. The rustic feel and industrial style, plus the natural light, of the venue, gave this shoot a magical feel I love. Mikkel Paige Photography was behind the lens and captured it all so beautifully. While, the amazing Harmony Weddings planned this photoshoot and designed the overall aesthetic. They did an excellent job creating such harmonious settings and bridal looks that reflects the essence of Indian weddings. An enchanting and whimsical table set up that included dusty rose, deep green, french blue, and grey alongside Sugar Euphoria's desserts was a delightful explosion of exquisite beauty. Coqui Paperie finished up the table setting, creating colorful stationery to perfectly match the palette. You will be utterly smitten with all the lush flowers Wild Flora Farm used to adorn the table. These flower shades can look great in summer too! Don't you agree? The brides' ensembles and jewelry are from Sara Elegance. The Indian boutique dressed the beautiful models with exquisite lehengas in classic colors such as red, magenta, and maroon. Beauty pro Wedded Kiss transformed all models into real-life princesses with different neutral and bold makeup looks and provided major inspiration for all types of hair textures. Amazing! As we all know, no Indian affair is complete without food. That is why Zayka Indian Cuisine provided the great flavors of India, executing heavenly savory dishes for all the crew. Huge thanks to all the fabulous vendors involved for showcasing their talent and expertise. Happy Friday, Maharanis. There is so much wedding inspiration today to wrap up the week! We are beyond excited to present the beautiful wedding album of Kinjal and Shilp. Lightyear Studio kindly shared their same-day edit film, a heartfelt cinematic production we had the honor to feature not long ago, and you can watch the reel here. But this time, Lightyear Studio gave us the opportunity to showcase the stunning shots of this unforgettable union with all of you. The launched of the wedding spree was a fabulous Sangeet at Aashirwad Palace that helped spread the excitement of the upcoming events with joyful choreographies and bold color outfits. Despite all the chaos of Covid, this lovely pair put together along with their families a spectacular spring Indian wedding at the Brooklake Country Club & Events. This exclusive venue harbored an outdoor ceremony out of a fairytale. The open floral mandap, the sacred rituals, and the bliss of a happy couple were a true feast for the eyes. The magenta blooms all over the mandap are my personal favorite! Kinjal was a real trendsetter flaunting equally regal outfits for her ceremony and reception. Our princess bride mesmerized the crowd with a bronzed-hued makeup look created by Rita Suthar, which complemented her red velvet lehenga just right. She later slipped into a mint green-colored lehenga with rich golden embellishments that made her glow during her reception party. DJ Gaurav from Luxe Event Entertainment performed and incorporated the bride and groom’s favorite songs and music that made everyone up and hurry onto the dance floor. What a great crowd pleaser! Great food and drinks were also essential parts of this once-in-a-lifetime day that will remain in the hearts of Kinjal and Shilp forever. Get a glimpse of the glory of this wedding journey visiting our complete gallery. Happy peruse!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We were walking past each other and I tripped. He caught me at the perfect time and we landed in a dip. Time slowed down and the music started serenading. We knew it was love at first sight.
Just kidding! We met the traditional way...on a dating app! After a few dates and a lot of pizza, I knew he was the one when he could out-quote The Office to me. (But he knew sooner!)

Since we started dating, we had been dreaming about a trip to Ireland together. I had been obsessing over Ireland since my last 3 trips and had wanted to show Shilp the magic. We took an epic trip with our 4 friends driving around the countryside, stopping by tiny pubs and ended at the Cliffs of Moher overlooking the castle on the hill. In that moment, Shilp made my favorite spot in the world even more special by getting down on one knee!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
To be honest, we credit Dr Rina Desai, my mom, for planning and re-planning our wedding once it was rescheduled because of Covid! Both our families really chipped in and made this as stress-free as possible. We knew we wanted old-school maharani-style wedding outfits and an organic/rustic, simple feel for the decor. Nirali made our decor vision come to life! Brooklake Country Club and all of the people who work there made it extraordinarily easy to put this together. Rita Suthar my make-up artist (who I've known for 15 years), read my mind for my makeup/hair styling. DJ Gaurav played phenomenal sets that make even dance-challenged people get out on the dance floor. Nathan and his team at Lightyear Studio captured every bit of magic that weekend. This wedding was thanks to our family and all of these people! We know how much they worked to bring this dream to life!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted an all red wedding lengha. I went wedding dress shopping with my parents, Shilp and his parents, to try on different fabrics and lengha styles. I landed on a bright red, velvet style based on the richness of the look and the depth of the color. My mom then went to India to for all my wedding outfit shopping as I was unable to go myself.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Since we were forced to scale the event down, the guests who attended were our closest family and friends. We were able to have one on one time with our guests dancing, eating, taking pictures. I think our guests enjoyed the ease and the personal touch we were able to have at each event. Great food and drinks always helps!!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our first look was one of our most special moments. When we saw each other for the first time we both just burst out laughing, so happy and excited at the same time, followed by a big warm embrace. We took a breath to fully take in the moment and realize we had made it. We will never forget that.
I also shared a moment with my dad earlier in the morning when he saw me for the first time in my bridal outfit. It was full of emotion and so incredibly special.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The planning can be long and stressful no matter what size or style of wedding you are having. The one most important piece of advice from us to you is to enjoy the day (or days!). Enjoy the small moments with your family and friends, be present, laugh, take a picture in that photobooth, cheers with your signature cocktail, tear it up on the dance floor (even if your hair gets ruined). The time goes by so fast and the most cherished memories we have are from the times we spent together with our family and friends. Also unlike us, don't forget to eat something more than dessert at the reception!
See you next week. More inspiration to come!
Hi Maharanis! It's Wednesday and to pay tribute to another couple's video, Lightyear Studio tells the story of Kinjal & Shilp's wedding day with a heartfelt cinematic production of selected highlights you will adore. This same-day edit film is spectacular with its aerial shots, pre-wedding events, and lively baraat scenes. Aashirwad Palace offered a unique location for the couple to celebrate a super fun Sangeet that was just the prelude to their wedding day. This dance festival was just the perfect way to inaugurate and officially welcome all their loved ones to their wedding festivities. Early spring days can be chilly, but they can also be one of the most beautiful times of the year. I'm glad these two opted for this lovely season to tied the knot as their big day was just as delightful as a summer day! They ensured all guests stayed cozy as they warmed up the temperature, dancing all the way to the doorsteps of the Brooklake Country Club & Events. The ceremony was backdropped by the rolling green hills and pristine waters of this splendid outdoor space. It was also framed by an adorable open mandap structure that featured bright color flowers that contrasted just perfectly with the silvery sky. Heaters provided warmth for the couple and guests during the many Hindu wedding rituals. In the meantime, their large bridesmaids and groomsmen squad dressed up in deep sky blue ensembles formed a large procession that escorted the newlyweds into their new life. How beautiful! Kinjal looked like the ultimate Maharani in a red cherry bridal lehenga she cleverly combined with a long gold dupatta, and Raja Shilp donned a mint and gold sherwani suit that turned him into a dashing prince. Such a stylish couple! There is no other better way than departing from the ceremony in a luxury car, which is precisely what the new husband and wife did. They added a touch of luxe to their goodbye moment, riding a beautiful red Lamborghini into their happily ever after. Loving these wedding ideas? Get inspired by this film only hit the play button and make them a reality on your wedding day.
