Garfield, NJ Indian Wedding by Jashim Jalal Studios

A downright awesome celebration takes over our pages on this beautiful Tuesday thanks to wedding storytellers from Jashim Jalal Studios! Neelam and Karan are the love-struck couple who decided to start a life together with a big bold celebration of love! A backyard Mendhi party festooned by One Events Management in rich, striking colors and lots of charming elements initiated the marital bliss and offered the guests a night of fun and great delectable food thanks to The Kati Roll Company and Confused Donuts. Mehndikalogie's henna artist outlined the outstanding mehndi design on the bride's arms and legs that I absolutely adore! The professional planning staff of Surbhi Patel from One Events Management skillfully produced this and the following pre-wedding event, making all the couple's ideas a beautiful true! Medley Entertainment's live performance at the Sangeet/Garba night created a truly magical experience while the dance performances gave a special "Bollywood" atmosphere! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Karan and I met on the dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. Post Date 1, I was still unsure about Karan but decided to give him a shot. Very soon after, Date 3/4, I knew this was it. It's like they say, "When you know, you know."

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

I am all things Christmas obsessed! It was a no brainer to Karan that he'd be proposing during the most magical time of the year! With the help of Neelam's friends and family, he located a little terrace area that overlooked the Rockerfeller Center tree and St.Patrick's Cathedral where he had a mini tree, candles, and champagne set up. He also had an ornament on the tree that said, "Will you marry me?" with a ring on it. It was the perfect night!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Lucky for me, I had tons of help! Some vendors I knew I wanted to work with and some vendors I instantly clicked with. It helps that I'm surrounded by family and friends who were part of the Indian wedding industry which made my job a ton easier!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I knew I wanted a very traditional look for my bridal lengha. I definitely wanted it to be the color red but that definitely did not help narrow down my choices. Every one had different opinions on what my lengha should look like, but once I tried my lengha on, I loved it and just decided to go with it!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Seeing everything come together was the best part. You can plan for months/years, but finally seeing things come in the mail, or seeing the final product of something you've been working towards was the most exciting and rewarding part of the planning process.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Definitely think the uniqueness of the different events (Welcome Holi Party, Backyard Mendhi Party, etc) is what guests enjoyed most. Each event had a different look/vibe to it and think that was something guests seemed to enjoy the most!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

I don't know if I would describe this as "special" but the fact that every event (even outdoor events) were rained out on was definitely memorable. It downpoured during every single one of our events (even engagement shoots) and we definitely confirmed we had the worst luck. However, our family and friends did not let this get in the way of making the most out of our week. We danced in the rain during our welcome holi party, braved the rain under tents during our backyard mendhi party, and even brought the baarat indoors!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

Welcome party- This was hosted by the groom's sister and brother-in-law. It was a holi theme where everyone was required to be dressed in white and we (the bride and groom) wore mustard yellow outfits. It was cold and rainy and every one was pretty nervous on how the day would turn out. Once the alcohol was flowing, the music was blasting, and we had delicious food in our stomachs, we danced in the rain all day. It was one of the most fun days and one that we'll never forget!

Backyard Mendhi- I've always wanted to do my mendhi at my home surrounded by family. The goal of every event was to party hard and this was no different. We had different food truck vendors come in, set up a flower wall backdrop, and had our closest friends and family in attendance. The beginning of the night started in a downpour and leaky tents, but once the rain subsided, we opened up the walls of the tent, the party just grew and ended up being one blurry night! :)

Sangeet/Garba- This event was all about being colorful. We wanted the music to be live (thank you Medley Entertainment! :)) and the food to be delicious! Having a mix of two different cultures (Gujarati and Punjabi), we started our night off with Garba, went into performances, and started the dance party which was the Sangeet portion of the night. There was a lot of dancing, laughing, crying (happy tears), eating, and shots involved!

Reception- Because our Garba/Sangeet, Ceremony, and Reception were all in the same venue, we wanted to ensure each event felt unique. Our reception really leaned into the geometric theme. Because I didn't want a room full of just flowers, our decorators were great about bringing our vision to life. Working with Susmita from Style by Susmita, she even incorporated this theme into my dress! It included geometric shapes and tulips which represented true love. It all came together wonderfully!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

It's totally possible to have a beautiful wedding with limited resources and budget. Be creative and think outside the box. There's so many resources out there and ways to bring your vision to life outside of just leaning on the vendors.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Instead of bouquets, I had the bridesmaids walk out with frames that stated how they knew the bride.

We had a hanging cake stand which hung from the ceiling (something I really wanted).

Brampton, ON Sikh Wedding by Banga Studios

Time for more wedding bliss, Maharanis! Today's sweethearts, Harman and Dayal, will delight you with all the fun and joy of their grand Sikh wedding! The fantastic Banga Studios captured all the love between these two and immortalize the celebrations that kicked off with a lively Sangeet! The bubbly ambiance that Starzz Design and Decor created for the biggest pre-nup party included a fascinating stage, huge Moroccan lamps, and a traditional golden Jhoola charmingly festooned with long strings of marigolds! LeSonne Bridals totally nailed it with the beautiful floral side braid they created for Maharani Harman which completed the splendor of her floral lehenga! Dayal rocked a classic suit for this occasion and finished off his dark attire with a pink tie that matched his princess outfit! Mahwah, NJ Indian Wedding by Studio KSD

Hello, loves! To complete today's Wedding Video Blog we continue with an extraordinary set of detailed images from Maharani Komal and her Raja Parth that takes us for a ride through the wedding festivities. After a formal outdoor photo session with the charming duo, the photo team of Studio KSD snapped more images of the soulmates indoors the splendid Sheraton Mahwah Hotel, which was the venue picked to begin with a colorful night of Garba Raas dance that kicked off their happily ever after. The room was a sea of colors thanks to the vibrant decorations provided by Nirali Decor that decked the space with a lively theme! Beautiful drapery fanning out and traditional props scattered all over the place and a magnificent Jhula were just a few of the many elements that created a joyful ambiance for the traditional Dandiya Stick Dance night! Dressed in equally cheery colors, Maharani Komal donned a teal color lehenga skirt, and a fuchsia color choli that she paired with a yellow dupatta, her over-the-shoulder hairstyle created by Makeup by Shaili gave her that extra touch of playfulness to the entire look! Newport Beach, CA Indian Wedding by Aiya Photography

We keep reviewing the lovely union of Poorva and Nilayam! We have reached the moment to relive the relax and romantic outdoor wedding reception at the captivating grounds of The Resort at Pelican Hil, and for that particular goal, Aiya Photography has brought all the imagery of the fantastic soiree. The twilight provided the perfect lighting for a sweet photo shoot, where the new Mrs. Poorva struck the pose in a fine teal color lehenga, gracefully beautified with some side-swept flawless curls by Dolled up by Lulu and bedecked with enchanting light jewelry, while her beau Nilayam made a statement in a three-piece suit he accessorized with a peacock feather boutonniere. The starry night was enlivened by the pumping music of 3D Sounds while their lighting gave the right festive ambiance to this summer reception that was provided with the most beautiful decors by Shawna Yamamoto Event Design. Each table displayed bright and fresh blooms while a flavorful layer orange cake was served as dessert after the delicious dinner served by Natraj Catering and Restaurants! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We met through Coffee Meets Bagel.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

Nilayam took me zip-lining one weekend and proposed with a ring pop - something he had always wanted to do. We celebrated with our family a couple of weeks later where he replaced the ring pop with a beautiful sunset-inspired ring. It was the perfect proposal for us: dorky and adventurous!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Both of us wanted a wedding near the beach and so we focused our search along the southern California coast. We chose The Resort at Pelican Hill for its gorgeous views, grand but simple architecture, and open-sky feel. The ocean breeze was absolutely perfect. Our vendors were chosen through a combination of bridal shows, planner recommendations, and word-of-mouth reviews.

We wanted to make our guests and us feel at home as much as possible so we really focused on the little details including designing our invites and stationery.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I knew I wanted to wear orange and not the traditional red. I also knew I didn't want something too heavy as I have a small stature and our wedding would be outdoors in August. I found my wedding lengha in a small boutique in New Delhi and knew instantly that it represented me and what I wanted to wear on my special day. Similarly, I knew I wanted to wear a teal colored lengha for my reception and was able to find something that suited my style and personality.

My Sangeet outfit was the most special as I had the honor of wearing my mom's wedding lengha. I had a new blouse designed to make part of the outfit mine but it meant a lot to me to be able to wear her lengha.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The most enjoyable part of the planning process was planning the personal details and touches that Nilayam and I had designed. We made our own guest book with our wedding colors, created our own table numbers to match our pun theme, went through old pictures to place on our cocktail tables, designed and wrote our own wedding invitations, and designed and wrote the program card. We wanted to infuse the wedding with our personalities and really make our guests feel at home.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Our guests felt that they felt well taken care of and very comfortable throughout the whole day. Having an outdoor wedding in the middle of August was a cause of concern due to the heat. We made sure guests had ample shade throughout the ceremony along with custom sunglasses, fans, and plenty of food and drinks.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Nilayam's favorite moment was watching me walk down the aisle to the mandap. My favorite moment was being able to dance with him and our family and friends in our joint baraat.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

All other ceremonies were held at our homes. Our Sangeet was held at my parent's house in San Diego which was very special. We had a great time watching our family and friends perform their prepared dances. I had an especially fun time performing a dance with my sister. Monsoon catered our Sangeet with fusion food like pani puri shots and gnocchi tikka masala.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Try to find moments in the day where you can soak in all that is happening. I felt this helped me to really soak in everything and I didn't feel like the day(s) went by in a blur, as I was warned.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

My mehndi was done by Tejal Shah from Henna San Diego. I loved working with her as she took the time to understand the look that I wanted.

Our venue was absolutely stunning. We kept our decor to a minimum so the venue and the ocean backdrop would shine through. At the same time, we wanted the decor we had to be vibrant and colorful, staying true to a traditional Indian wedding.

Our florist, Shawna Yamamoto Event Design was able to bring our vision to life, including incorporating my favorite flower, gerbera daisies!

Our flautist, Anis Chandani set the mood perfectly during the ceremony.

Our pundit, Ravi Trivedi made our ceremony understandable and extremely engaging for us and our guests.

The big day is here for Poorva and Nilayam, and The Resort at Pelican Hill waited for the soon to be husband and wife for an unforgettable ceremony! The ocean breeze of Newport Beach reached the fantastic and already iconic "Rotunda" of the Pelican Hill that served as a backdrop along the flute music of Anis Chandani as a soundtrack for the picturesque outdoor ceremony which displayed a unique open wedding stage scenario. The tangerine and yellow hues ruled during the solemn celebrations and were perfectly distributed with lush florals. This mesmerizing scenery was all creation of the highly notable Shawna Yamamoto Event Design while Details Details expertly planned the wedding solemnity and all the splendor that was about to come! Our soon to be husband and wife looked immaculate for the camera of Aiya Photography, all dressed up in their unique ceremony attires! With a lovely Maharani dressed in an impeccable orange lehenga draped and tied by the beauty specialist, Bridal By Nisha, and glowing makeup by the prestigious bridal expert, Dolled up by Lulu, and a handsome Raja suited in a cream sherwani.
