How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
It was an arranged marriage and we first met at Cafe Mila in Dallas.. it was little funny because we saw each other couple times earlier but didnt talk with him before that first meet on Oct 25, 2019. The converation went for over two hrs but we didnt realise it went that long.. the moment i stepped out of that cafe i felt that he is the one with whom i can share anything and spend my life without clock..

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Sorry :) its a secret but it happened on Nov 26th one month after the first meet..

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The first thing that got to our mind is to hire a wedding planner with all this pandemic in place. We came across B3 events and their previous work with Indian weddings impressed us. The vendors suggested by B3E were perfect for our vision. Overall, The Decor was fantastic on the wedding day. We also loved the work of PhotoSaga and NitsyDego. The pictures and the video exceeded our expectations.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had no specific color in mind but I really loved the saree the moment I saw it.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
We had regular conversations with the planner but in-person meeting was fun discussing decor stuff,

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Absolutely decor!!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Of course, The whole wedding event as it was my special day !

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Love every moment.. its your special day!!!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him at our first job at the college point movie theater. We just talked as friends and then I knew I was falling for him when he wouldn't text me back and I was upset about it lol! But being Bengali Muslim and him Colombian was always a big no-no for us. It was a big back and forth with myself to go through with this but time and time again he has proven that we would be able to face anything together.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He had told me that he got Broadway tickets for 12/28. The reason why he said this was because I never dress up unless it's a special occasion or we have a party to go to. So he had me dress up and it was pouring rain so my hair was already getting bad...and we haven't even left the house. Then he asked if I was hungry to have a quick snack. Before I can answer he brought out a box of chicken nuggets and obviously I got excited. So he went down on one knee and I started laughing because I thought he was being dramatic. Then he opens the box of nuggets and the box was empty and all there was in there was an open jewelry box with the most perfect ring! I started to fall back and he had to grab my wrist. The first thing I said was... "where are the nuggets?" and we started laughing and crying and all of a sudden my doorbell rang and all my friends and family were waiting outside our door to congratulate us. It was so chill we ordered pizza and hung out and took pictures. I always thought I wanted a big public proposal as my dream but this was so personal and perfect and it was very us.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to Nazranaa in NJ because I basically stalked their Instagram profile and their dresses were beautiful. I always wanted something in gold because I never liked the traditional bright red in our culture for weddings. I tried on a few dresses but then they brought out a full antique traditional gold heavy jeweled lehenga with matching dupatta. In the end, I had chosen to get a maroon dupatta to give it a splash of color and get some of the traditional looks.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I think the most enjoyable process was really going through the walkthrough a week before the wedding. We decided to do a covid wedding at an Airbnb and it was so much fun. We practiced walking down the aisle and the music timing and it was the first time you get an idea of seeing everything come together!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved that it was so chill. I don't think an Indian wedding guest will deny that the best part (aside from the wedding) is being able to get out of the heavy clothes and relaxing. That was the opportunity everyone had at my wedding. They were able to dress up for all the pictures and change and relax and enjoy the rest of the night in the back yard with good drinks, people and food.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There were two moments that play constantly in my head and they were both during the ceremony. The first moment was seeing my day cry when giving me away to my husband. My dad is not an emotional person what so ever so this took me by surprise. He was also my biggest supporter in this whole situation of us being interracial. So I had to try my hardest to keep it together because my makeup was BOMB lol. The second moment was my sister's speech. She was my maid of honor so she went up in front of everyone and just broke down and I had to look away. She's my older sister even though we are twins and it made my heart happier than ever that she was so happy for me.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Do not harp on big weddings! Smaller weddings are sooo much better because you know everyone that's there and you can have all the intimate moments and not worry about having to cater to everyone because you are so close with them.

We have more prepared just for you, so visit us tomorrow!

Long Island, NY Indian Fusion Wedding by PhotosMadeEz

Happy Tuesday, Maharanis! It feels great to be back with a new love story for you, and we are sure that today's fusion wedding will make your heart melt with tenderness and joy. So let's check it out together! When Jennifer & Chirag decided to join their lives in marriage, they knew they wanted to honor both their traditions and backgrounds, that is why they ended up having not one, but two wedding ceremonies. How lucky of them! Isn't it, ladies? We are starting today's feature by taking a look at the Christian Ceremony, and all we have to say is that we loved every bit of this solemn event, entirely planned by AG Events Corporate & Special Event Planning. And we particularly adored the look of our gorgeous Maharani who walked down the aisle looking like a princess in her white wedding dress from David's Bridal collection. This opening ceremony was so charming and emotional that we cannot help but feel happy for these lovebirds. After the Christian Ceremony, Jennifer & Chirag consummated the union with a traditional Hindu ceremony held at the fascinating outdoors of The Vineyards at Aquebogue. And oh, boy, this ceremony was a dream come true! The combination of colors and the exceptional floral decoration that Catskill Weddings put together for this outdoor ceremony helped make this event not just elegant, but delicate and exquisite, not to mention that it set a magical mood for this memorable and life-changing ceremony. Anywhere you looked, there was so much beauty all over the place, but nothing compared to the dazzling look of our gorgeous Maharani Jennifer! She looked breathtaking on this special day thanks to the exceptional work of SV Bridal Concepts by Sanjana Vaswani. The dreamy makeup, the delicate and classic hairstyle, and the stunning lengha by Nazranaa were all a perfect combination to enhance Jennifer's beauty. And let's not forget about the fantastic Mehndi designed by Mehndikalogie. These talented vendors took Jennifer's look to the next level, creating mesmerizing scenes beautifully captured by the lens of PhotosMadeEz. After both ceremonies, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds with a fabulous reception party enlivened by DJUSA, who put everyone on their feet playing the hits of the moment! Like in all previous events, Jennifer looked ravishing dressed in her swoon-worthy red lengha by Khanjana Boutique. Without any question, this is a celebration that will amaze every spectator, so don't forget to visit today's full gallery, if you don't want to miss any bit of it. You will love it so much!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
As he remembers it...

It was a quarter past seven and I had just bought a book, but not to read, but to gift to a girl I hadn’t yet met. Our first date was all lined up; it would be in Gramercy at my favorite bar just a short walk away. There I sat, on a stool, my feet dangling off the balance beams circling about in opposite directions the way one does before someone enters through a door and changes their life, leading them towards an immense amount of happiness. But I didn't know that then, I just thought I was nervous in anticipation wondering if the work of fiction was too bold a move. Fortunately, after giving Jenn a hug when she arrived she accepted the book with a smile more endearing than any I've seen.

The rest of the night was an incredible blur of fantastic conversation and a multitude of laughs bouncing from one topic to another as if we'd known each other for more than those few hours. The night would wind down so we made plans to see each other again and we both knew those weren't just words but a promise. A promise kept as not more than a couple days passed before we would hang out again and again. This would continue over the next couple years, the conversation never ceasing; the laughs endless and evermore.

As she remembers it...

About a year and a half after meeting for the first time, Chirag arranged for a date night to check out a new place overlooking Columbus Circle. Initially, I was resistant to go out because it was a Thursday and I had to get up early for work. He convinced me to agree and I did because he seemed so thrilled to show me a new place. I told myself, we would see this place, have a quick dinner, and I can go home on time to get ready for work the next day.

The entire time we were together he fidgeted with his coat and was acting uncomfortable. Little did I know, he had the ring in his coat pocket and was worried that I'd see it, or worse, that it would fall out! We decided to eat dinner near his place, but he needed to stop by his apartment first. The elevator stopped at the top floor rather than the floor he lived on. When I tried to press his floor and go back down, he insisted that we see the view on the rooftop now that we are here. I thought it was strange that he wanted to go to the rooftop of his own building after we had just seen incredible views from the top of Columbus Circle! I was also still waiting to get dinner so I can get eat and then go home. I figured we could look quickly and get on with the plans, so I agreed to go.

As we walked towards the far end of the rooftop, I saw a table decorated with candles and flowers and I told him, "we're walking in on someone else's surprise!" I turn the opposite way from him to see if I can find someone and apologize. When I turn back around to him, there he is on his knees, holding a ring and giving a beautiful speech (most of which I cried through). I said YES and he put the ring on my finger. I knew my life was changed for the best and I was overcome with so much happiness that I began to cry. That moment was absolutely worth delaying dinner and staying up late on a school night!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Loved all my vendors!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Catholic Ceremony dress- David's Bridal

Hindu Ceremony lengha from Nazranaa (16 Marconi Ave, Iselin, NJ 08830 ), chosen based on recommendations from friends, I wanted a spring feel to match the outdoor ceremony space and I  didn't want traditional red for ceremony but rather a blush color, something that felt more updated and more like me.

Reception - custom lengha from Khajana Boutique (1375 OAK TREE ROAD ISELIN, NJ 08830), I was unable to find an outfit that seemed just right and finally found out that they customize.  Shaina helped me to design the lengha from top to bottom, detail by detail and I LOVED how it turned out. Even the shade of red was perfect (yes-I decided to do red for the reception instead, because of how bold and beautiful it would look in the evening against all the lighting).

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Invitations-choosing a design and planning the layout, then seeing the hard work come to life! We used: Indian Wedding Card. They have good customer service, they send samples of anything fairly quickly, and so MANY styles to choose from!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The reception venue because it was outdoors in a garden, there was great food and all with great weather!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The speeches from parents/family and friends
The dances from friends and family

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Try to have some private time with your significant other even if it's for only a couple minutes
Be sure to take a deep breath during moments and just take it all in
Have a family member/dear friend ensure you have a plate of food (and of course, one drink).

Thanks for tuning in today, darlings. Have an awesome rest of the day, and don't forget to join us tomorrow for more!
