Houston, TX Indian Wedding by Cory Goldberg Images

Happy Monday Maharanis! Today’s Indian wedding out of Houston is infused with class, elegance and a modernized nod to traditional Indian weddings. From the minute us girls are proposed to, it is only natural to start the Princess perfecting regimen! Every gal wants to shine on her wedding day and it is the smallest of details that truly make a difference. When Maharani Kavita made the decision to appoint Ms Painted Lady for creating her magnificent bridal look it was a win-win for all. For her Indian wedding ceremony, the bride opted for a deep burgundy and gold lengha embroidered all over with detailed patch border work. With maroon stained lips, gold brimmed eyelids and a glowing touch from Ms. Painted Lady’s blush brush, this bride mirrored a princess from Rajasthan. The groom donned a matching luxurious sherwani with the perfect added accessory – a pair of socks engraved with, “in case you get cold feet!” One of my favorite portraits of this wedding captured by Cory Goldberg Images is the surprise capture of the new bride as she is presented to her bridesmaids. You can find an abundant amount of photos in the gallery! See you there!

Hilton, NY, Fusion Wedding by Jay Seth Photography

An east-meets-west wedding will always be delightfully engrossing to us because they not only celebrate the union of two individuals, but also two distinct cultures. We all know just how much planning and prep goes into a multi-event Indian wedding, especially when it involves two ceremonies, so when we see one that is so well color-coordinated, it makes us borderline euphoric! The planner, Sonal J Shah’s rendition of this multicultural wedding was a seamless blend of Sima’s Gujarati rituals and Peter’s American heritage. Jay Seth Photography gave us a ton of dreamy shots to obsess over, while Live Picture Studios filmed the amalgamation. We embarked on Sima-Peter wedding adventure through the first event, the Sangeet at the Hilton Pearl River in New York. At the risk of sounding corny, we have to say that Sima and Peter looked like dancing dolls in their matching teal ensembles! Teal is Peter’s favorite color, and he rocked his snazzy bandhgala kurta with small butta prints all over. Sima paired an aqua turquoise blouse with an ombre lehenga, all embroidered in beautiful gold beading. Cinderella Bridez gussied up our lovely Maharani with a sultry navy smokey eye, mauve lip, and styled her hair in big, loose side-swept curls. Moghul Catering pleased the palates of the guests with their delectable Indian cuisine. Elegant Affairs decked up Hilton Pearl River using splashes of regal and festive colors like purple, magenta, tangerine, and cerulean blue. The use of silk and satin linens, and their interplay with the butta work embroidery on the cushions and bolsters lent a Moroccan-meets-ethnic vibe to the Sangeet. With the sound of Dandiya sticks in the air, and dancy beats from IEDJS by Manan Shah made sure the Sangeet was a buck load of fun! If you fancy, run your eyes over this adorable couple’s gallery!f

New York City, NY, Indian Wedding by Charmi Peña Photography

A wedding so rich in color and detail almost always foreshadows an equally phenomenal reception, and with Charmi Pena Photography to cover it all, we knew we were in for a visual treat! Nirupama and Athmeya’s reception was hosted at the NYU Rosenthal Pavilion, that overlooks Washington Square and offers stunning Fifth Avenue skyline views. Believe us when we say that purple lighting has never looked this good! Three Notch Floral designers Cara and Kate's expertise with decor clearly did the magic. The artistic tablescape featured lovely red roses and purple blossoms in antique gold vases with floral inspired centerpieces. Athmeya paired his striking blue suit with a pink tie that matched Nirupama’s ornate pink reception lehenga by Aneesh Aggarwal, from Aza Fashions. Bridal Gal styled Nirupama’s hair in a loose side knot, adorned with pearl strings that were an extension of our Maharani’s earrings. From the looks of it, DJ Shilpa entertained the guests through and through, and succulent Indian cuisine from Bhatti Grill, Kitchen3N's cake kept the guests satiated. Check out their gallery that is brimming with vibrancy!

New York City, NY, Indian Wedding by Charmi Peña Photography

New York City weddings always come with an unparalleled charm, so Nirupama and Athmeya’s wedding was right up our alley for so many reasons, we don’t know where to begin! Off late, we’ve been swooning over the idea of a wedding festooned in rich, striking colors (we blame Fall!), so when we saw Nirupama and Athmeya’s nuptial photos, particularly the customary getting-ready shots, we fell in love and we fell hard! Charmi Peña Photography’s meticulous shots were a visual feast! The fresh Jasmine flowers adorned on top of Nirupama’s long braid were simply delightful. Nirupama and her bridesmaids were dressed in pink and purple Kanjeevaram saris respectively, draped by Karen from Bridal Gal, and they toasted to the bride right before she walked down the aisle at NYU Kimmel Center. Nirupama’s heirloom jewelry included a traditional waist belt, an arm cuff, and a full necklace set. We lost our hearts to the cozy, first-look photos of the couple; Athmeya’s mustard yellow raw silk kurta perfectly contrasted the bride’s ensemble and the greenery. Although Nirupama didn’t have a lucid idea about the overall look, she “knew (she) wanted to have a traditional look with bright colors.” NYU Kimmel Center seemed like the perfect setting for what Nirupama had in mind. Ravi Verma of Wedding Design expertly translated her vision into a splendid mandap with orange and red flowers, gold accents, and antique gold temple bells, set against luxurious purple drapes. Check out their gallery that simply oozes regal elegance.

Sterling, VA Sikh Wedding by Erin Shimazu Photography

Greetings from the "birthplace of a nation!" After Maharani Sukhpreet's wedding ceremony, guests freshened and deviated to the contemporary Hyatt Regency Dulles. Known for holding spacious banquets and events, the venue was further decorated with alluring charm with decor from Imperial Décor, Luxury Event Designs. Elite Entertainment brought forth illuminating lighting for the venue as well as the tunes as guests got jiggy with it on the dance floor. Hungry party patrons devoured contemporary North Indian cuisine with eats such as vegetable kebabs and falafels from Bollywood Bistro. We are excited to watch the cinematic video of the wedding celebrations caught by Robles Video once released! Erin Shimazu Photography did such an amazing job capturing all the vivacious images all the way from the engagement right down to the wedding reception! Head into the gallery for more photos!
