How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met each other like many others in these modern times…online! I knew he was the one when I saw how he treated my family and immersed himself into my culture.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We had been dating for quite some time and while I kept bugging him about wanting a proposal, I was completely shocked when it happened. The week before he proposed, he told me he had a work trip, but actually went to Florida to ask my parents for their blessing. On the day of the proposal, we met a few friends for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants where he got down on one knee. He also had the same musician who was singing during our very first date singing during the proposal. It was perfect!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I started by picking a few dates that worked for our families. From there we started our search for the perfect venue. I knew I wanted it to be close to home, have the option for indoor or outdoor events, and have an overall resort feel. Once we decided on the venue, I started the search for my outfits, hair and makeup artist, caterer, photographer/cinematographer, and entertainment. It was important to me to book the vendors I really wanted to work with right away.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I did a lot of research on Instagram/online looking at various designers and narrowed down the designers based on the style I was looking for.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process were the parts where the groom and I combined our ideas to come up with unique and fun experiences for our guests during the wedding. My groom would also say that the menu tasting was his favorite part of the planning process :)

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Many of our guests particularly enjoyed the food during all of our events.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My groom’s reaction during our first look was such a special moment for me that I’ll never forget.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We included special touches into each event that were personal to us. For instance, our welcome bags were actually KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) buckets as a nod to where the groom is from. We also had dances performed by family and friends during all of our events, which made for a truly special experience.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Be very organized during the planning process and delegate tasks so that you can enjoy your big day. Things will go wrong and that’s okay! At the end of the day, you are marrying the love of your life and that’s all that should matter.

Also, pick vendors that are easy to work with and flexible especially when things go wrong and there are last minute changes. I was so lucky that I had amazing vendors that made our dream wedding come true!

Darlings, I hope you enjoyed today’s entry. Keep coming back for more happily ever afters!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband, Neel, during my undergrad years at UCI. We both were a part of the Indian clubs at our schools, UCI and USC. We became friends and remained friends over the next four years. When I started dental school at USC, Neel asked me on a date. We immediately hit it off and began a serious relationship shortly after. I knew Neel was the one because he would literally move mountains to make sure I was happy. He cared so much for my family and friends and made a huge effort with anyone I said was special. He can not only handle me at my best but also at my worst. Neel makes me a better person overall.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My proposal day was November 14th, 2020, in the middle of the covid pandemic. Neel surprised me and did a beachside proposal with all our family and closest friends. He arranged for me to have my hair and makeup done and brought me to Newport Beach. I walked up to a flower arrangement and the words "marry me." Along the way, members of our family and friends held up Neel, and I's favorite pictures of ourselves through our 5-year journey. After I told Neel "yes," we went to our villa in the beautiful resort Pelican Hill and partied the night away. We had food, drinks, and lots of dancing. It was definitely a day I will never forget. I can truly say it felt like a fairytale proposal.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted something different and softer than the traditional red color lengha. I always had my eyes set on a light pink pastel color, and I wanted to compliment my dress with bold jewelry. In early 2021, I went to Mumbai for wedding shopping. I loved Sabyasachi for years and always imagined wearing his lengha for my wedding. When I got to the store, I immediately saw the outfit and knew it was the one. The gold beading against the pastel-pink silk material was delicate and not too bold. The lengha was heading, but I was wearing the lengha; it wasn't wearing me. The color of the lengha made my skin tone stand out but didn't make it look too dark. The two contrasting dupattas were perfect - one for my shoulder and one to wear over my head. I automatically knew I wanted to contrast the outfit with light green jewelry. Overall, I loved the whole look and am so happy I went with the Sabyasachi pastel pink lengha.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was bringing to life my vision of each event. I love fashion and decor, and having multiple events allowed me to explore multiple different themes and clothing styles. I loved planning each event's outfits to complement the decor. I also loved adding little personal touches to each event, such as custom drinks, a photo wall, and a champagne tower pour.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I believe the guests loved how much my husband and I truly tried to make each event unique and a good representation of us. We definitely did all the cultural and religious events, but we included a portion where our guests would get to enjoy the events. Our events were spread out, and we chose to have only one event each day, with our wedding week lasting a full week. Our reception was the most elaborate, with a violinist who was playing classic Indian songs as well as a saxophone player who did the same. This really brought the dancing and cocktail hour to the next level.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My husband and I repeated our vows on the mandap for everyone to hear. However, these were intimate vows; it felt that much more special for us both to announce our hopes and love for each other in front of our closest family and friends.

Another special moment was during my pithi event. After the pithi portion was completed, my cousins decided to throw me into the pool. Not only was I thrown in, but slowly, everyone started getting thrown in. Eventually, most of the guests were also in the pool, and it became a pool party. These guests included aunties in their sarees and uncles jumping in the pool, spraying champagne. Although we all got a little more than that day, it was one of the best memories of our wedding week.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My words of wisdom for future brides are to truly enjoy all your wedding events. It was my biggest priority for my husband and me to enjoy all the wedding events after spending almost two years planning them. The energy the bride and groom have radiates. If both the bride and groom are enjoying, the guests will not only see it but match this energy. There are always things that go wrong, but the wedding week is once in a lifetime, and everyone should enjoy this milestone in life to the fullest.

Thanks for reading, loves! Hope to see you tomorrow; we will unfold more inspiring wedding stories.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Sourabh and I had been living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan for a few years, so Sourabh knew he wanted the proposal to take place somewhere in our neighborhood and chose to arrange for it at Carl Shurz park. When we set out that morning for what I thought thought was brunch with friends, I noticed it was a really cloudy day and actually commented to Sourabh saying "Boy, it'd be a terrible day to take pictures"! But as we stepped in the park, I knew brunch was not on the menu. Sourabh got down on one knee, while Ashley Fox captured the moment. It was the perfect New York morning!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We chose to have the wedding in Cincinnati since that's where both of our families are from. When we started venue searching, Anderson Pavilion was the first venue we saw and we immediately fell in love with it. Anderson Pavilion had glass walls, incredible views of the Ohio River while nestled against the Cincinnati skyline, and it had a carousel! Our vision for the ceremony was based off the venue since it was set up for a ton of natural light so we opted for a bright, white, traditional décor with a boho touch. B3 Decor took our vision and executed beyond our wildest dreams.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
When Sourabh and I were planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted to make it a memorable experience for everyone involved. We had been together for eleven years and had grown up as a couple in front of our family and friends. So, we wanted to create an experience that not only celebrated our love, but also celebrated our guests.

We chose B3Events as our planning team and worked with their team member, Vini Desai. Vini was with us every step of the way and helped us create an experience that our guests still talk about. Our guests were also blown away by the decor that B3Events arranged.

The other memorable element for our guests was the food prepared by Taj Mahal from Pittsburgh. They pulled together an extensive menu full of variety which included chaat items for our sangeet, Aam panna to sip on during the ceremony, and a traditional Gujarati and Marathi lunch, complete with undhiyu, shrikhand, and poori!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Vini and the B3 team always made sure Sourabh and I had a private venue reveal before each event to see the decor, look at the set up, and just have a moment to ourselves. When we first walked into the sangeet, I remember my jaw dropping at the decor, the stunning lighting and realizing in that moment the we are finally here, the party starts now!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

For our reception, we opted for a "speakeasy" theme with dark reds and blues for the color pallette as an homage to New York City. Our cake from A Spoon Fulla Sugar had brush stroked painted in oranges and reds, and B3 set up candelabra-style candles and table settings. After dinner, we moved all of our guests outside to the pavilion terrace where Sourabh and I did our first dance, followed by dancing under the stars and city skyline, a truly magical experience.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Finding the balance between budget, family opinions, your personal vision, and overall logistics is really tough! But making sure that you're listening to your gut and making the decisions that feel right for you and your fiancé should be priority. Your family and friends just want to celebrate you, so don't put too much pressure on yourself to pull everything together!

Thank you for joining us, and remember to leave us a comment. See you soon with more stories!
