How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Shayam and I actually met when we were 15 years old and over the years he became best friends with my brothers. Little did I know back then that I would end up marrying my brother's best friend, but fast forward a few years to adults and our friendship turned to romance. I knew he was the one because once we started dating he kept saying I am going to marry you!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We actually had just purchased our first home together and after weeks of renovations, he surprised me with a getaway trip to the Keys. We stayed on a beautiful private island at the Sunset Key Cottages resort.  I must say, I wasn't one for the fairytales and big surprises, but this man blew me away. He proposed on the beach just before sunset. Funny thing is I saw a woman hiding in the bushes before he proposed and come to find out it was a photographer waiting to take pictures of us.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Shortly after our engagement we got married legally and being that we just purchased a home, we decided to take a year and half to plan our official wedding ceremonies and reception. The religious aspects of our marriage was just as important to us as legally being married especially getting to share the moment with our loved ones. We had 3 venues and thankfully all went well. Our Hindu ceremony was held at the Coral Springs Center of the Arts in their courtyard. Our Nikah ceremony was held at Nur Ul Islam in Cooper City and our reception was held at The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs.  A great photo and videographer was needed and Sugarfree Studio took good care of us capturing these wonderful moments! I did freelance makeup on the side, so it was only natural for me to do my own bridal makeup each day! A lot of work for a bride, but I was happy to do it.  My overall experience with the vendors went well and I am glad I had an amazing wedding coordinator Chire Harvey to help make it happen on the wedding weekend.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Our wedding was in the fall and I wanted to incorporate those jewel toned colors that we felt brought a classic touch with deep hues for my bridal outfits. I went with reds and gold for our Hindu ceremony and emerald green for our Nikah.  For my reception look I always wanted to wear a white Pronovias wedding dress for their beautiful delicate lace detail.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I would say the most enjoyable part of planning was preparing for our first dance. We took ballroom dancing classes at Fred Astaire in Delray Beach with the wonderful Vanessa Iurman.  This was something I always wanted to do, and we got to experience it in preparation for our first dance on our reception night.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved the dancing and entertainment!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There was a moment when my husband and I said with relief, we did it!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Indian Dance Instructor: Jayadevi Arts helped us coordinate a dance routine after our hindu ceremony to surprise our guests.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take everything one day at a time.  Wedding planning and preparing for the big day can be overwhelming, but it is so important to remember to enjoy it while in the moment because all you have left are those memories.

Melbourne, FL Indian Wedding by Sona Photography

Happy Thursday, darlings! Don't miss Mausam & Gaurav's wedding in today's Platinum Guide Blog.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Gaurav and I met on a dating app (Dil Mil) about 5 years ago. To be quite honest he was the only one I actually went on a date with from the apps I was on. I knew he was the one pretty early on because he was so genuinely caring and thoughtful. I was working nights at the time and he would wake up in the middle of the night just to talk to me when I came home. We didn't have our first date until a 5-6 weeks after talking because he was traveling quite a bit for work a lot at the time. Looking back at this now i've realized that this actually helped our relationship build because we spent so much time texting/talking before actually getting to see each other.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Gaurav set up an intimate proposal at a gazebo across from our favorite local restaurant in Orlando. It was a couple days before Christmas and so the gazebo was decorated with beautiful lights and garland. There were rose petals set up in the shape of a heart and it was perfect. After the proposal we met up with a couple of our closest friends for dinner and family at night.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning in 2020 was of course stressful, however there were definitely fun parts to it as well. We started our planning for a 450 person wedding in May 2020, which was cancelled due to COVID. We then planned a little bit smaller of a wedding for August of 2020 , which also was cancelled. We knew we wanted to get married in 2020 so we finally settled on December 20, 2020 with a small intimate wedding of 18 people. To be quite honest , I've never seen myself walking down the aisle with 450 people watching our wedding, so the 18 people was a lot less nerve wrecking. It was a perfect day. We set up a live stream for all of our family and friends to watch from afar.

We ended up getting married at the Manav Mandir in Melbourne , FL. It was the perfect size and close to the beach ( we wanted to stay on the beach for the weekend). One of the most exciting parts for me was planning our decorations for the wedding . Our decor ideas changed as our wedding planning changed throughout the year, but our decorator was super flexible with accommodating to all these changes. We loved the way our decor turned out!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
For us the most special part about our wedding was being able to have both of our immediate families together in the same place after being isolated for majority of 2020. Keeping the wedding so small allowed us to fully enjoy our time together.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
As stressful as things may get, just remember to try and enjoy the whole process. Remember that things may not go as perfectly as planned, but at the end of the day you want to be able to look back and remember how much fun you had on your wedding day.

Baltimore, MD Indian Wedding by HnM Photoz

Welcome back, ladies! Today we unveil the wonderful union of Kalgi and Hemant. Like many other couples last year, Kalgi and Hemant decided to change their big celebration to an intimate backyard wedding instead, and it worked in their favor! Every guest present is part of their closest family and friends circle and witnessed the intimate occasion captured by HnM Photoz. The professional wedding photographer tells the full story of the day. Starting with the lovely Kalgi being dolled up by SKS Salon's beauty squad to the romantic first look and charming ceremony. This gorgeous Maharani looked stunning as she opted for a ravishing pink lehenga also perfectly draped by the great SKS Salon team. Our handsome groom Hemant also took the style bar to a new level with a fabulous sherwani from Chirag Shah Studio. What a stylish duo! Yaadeinweddings transformed the backyard space into a romantic venue for the traditional ceremony. The decorators built a  dreamy draped mandap with pink florals that added a touch of pop color! This warm-weather wedding included a Kona Ice truck, who delighted all guests after the ceremony a colorful variety of ice cream flavors. Proving one more time that ice creams are not just for kids. Finally Kalgi & Hemant decided to leave a long-lasting impression riding a luxury car from Go Exotics that put the icing on their perfect day. Don't miss any candid snap and portrait of this intimate affair, and visit our today's gallery!
