Mahwah, NJ Indian Wedding by Events Capture

In the picturesque embrace of the Sheraton Mahwah, Heli & Ankur's wedding unfolded like a blockbuster movie, complete with love, laughter, and larger-than-life moments. Thanks to Karma Events' flawless planning, every detail whispered the language of elegance. With a palette of traditional Indian hues blending seamlessly into modern sophistication, this wedding was nothing short of a masterpiece.

Heli, adorned in a glittering ensemble that seemed to capture every ray of sunlight, steps towards Ankur, who stands tall in his regal attire. As they turn to meet each other's eyes, time seems to pause. The joy, love, and anticipation radiating from their expressions are so palpable that even the camera lens seems to sigh in awe.

The outdoor mandap, designed by Nirali Decor, was a slice of heaven on earth—a cascade of delicate blooms framing Heli & Ankur as they exchanged their sacred vows. With the gentle sound of water fountains and the majestic mountains in the background, the ceremony felt like nature had been choreographed for their big day. The rituals, rich in tradition, were a beautiful ode to their culture, while the laughter from family and friends made the occasion warm and deeply personal.

If the ceremony was a dream, the reception was a fantasy brought to life. DNA Events & Entertainment turned the ballroom into an electrifying arena where Heli & Ankur's first dance was nothing short of mesmerizing. Their love story came alive on the dance floor with every twirl and sway. The speeches that followed added both heart and humor, leaving not a single dry eye or unshaken belly in the house. No story as grand as this could have been told without the keen eyes of Events Capture, who turned fleeting moments into timeless memories. From candid smiles to cinematic shots of the mandap and reception, their photography and videography were a masterclass in preserving magic. Each frame was an invitation to relive the day's emotions, and we're forever thankful for their artistry.

Dana Point, CA Indian Wedding White Rose Production

Weddings are a time when dreams and reality intertwine, creating unforgettable moments for everyone involved. Juhi & Neel's wedding at the stunning Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach was the epitome of this magic. With a dreamy South Asian theme, meticulous attention to detail, and love that shone brighter than the California sun, their celebration had all the makings of a cinematic love story.

Juhi & Neel's love story could rival any Bollywood rom-com. It all started during their undergrad years at UCI when they participated in Indian clubs at their universities. What started as a friendship blossomed into something more profound when Juhi began dental school at USC. After Neel's grand first date, Juhi knew this was her leading man. Juhi knew Neel was the one when she saw the lengths he would go to ensure her happiness.

When it came time for their big day, Juhi & Neel pulled out all the stops. With Elegant Events behind the planning and design, the couple's vision was brought to life most spectacularly. Juhi looked breathtaking in a pastel pink  bridal lengha, styled perfectly by Dolled Up by Lulu. She paired it with bold, contrasting light green jewelry that made her glow like the show's star. Neel matched her elegance in a regal sherwani, making them the ultimate fashion-forward duo.

Eucharis Studio set the stage with florals that turned the venue into a garden of love. But it wasn't just the florals that had everyone swooning—Duke Images captured the entire event in pure artistry. Every smile, tear, and joyful dance move was immortalized, but if you think the photos were magical, you must watch the video! White Rose Production went above and beyond, transforming Juhi & Neel's wedding into a cinematic masterpiece. Their wedding film is an emotional journey that brings the entire celebration to life. From the quiet moments of Juhi getting ready with her bridal party to the heart-stopping first look between her and Neel, they captured every meaningful glance, laugh, and even those fun, unexpected moments that made the day unique.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband, Neel, during my undergrad years at UCI. We both were a part of the Indian clubs at our schools, UCI and USC. We became friends and remained friends over the next 4 years. When I started dental school at USC, Neel asked me on a date. We immediately hit it off and began a serious relationship shortly after. I knew Neel was the one because he would literally move mountains to make sure I was happy. He cared so much for my family and friends and made a huge effort with anyone I said was special. He can not only handle me at my best but also at my worst. Neel makes me a better person overall.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
My proposal day was November 14th, 2020, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Neel surprised me and made a beachside proposal with all our family and closest friends. He arranged for me to have my hair and makeup done and brought me to Newport Beach. I walked up to a flower arrangement and the words "marry me". Along the way, members of our family and friends held up Neel and I's favorite pictures of ourselves through our 5-year journey. After I told Neel "yes," we went to our villa in the beautiful resort Pelican Hill and partied the night away. We had food, drinks, and lots of dancing. It was definitely a day I will never forget. I can truly say it felt like a fairytale proposal.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted something different and softer than the traditional red color lengha. I always had my eyes set on a light pink pastel color, and I wanted to compliment my dress with bold jewelry. In early 2021, I went to Mumbai to go shopping for a wedding. I have loved Sabyasachi for years and have always imagined wearing his lengha for my wedding. When I got to the store, I immediately saw the outfit and knew it was the one. The gold beading against the pastel pink silk material was delicate and not too bold. The lengha was heading, but I was wearing the lengha; it wasn't wearing me. The color of the lengha made my skin tone stand out but didn't make it look too dark. The two contrasting dupattas were perfect - one for my shoulder and one to wear over my head. I automatically knew I wanted to contrast the outfit with light green jewelry. Overall, I loved the whole look and am so happy I went with the Sabyasachi pastel pink lengha.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was bringing to life my vision of each events. I love fashion and decor and having multiple events allowed me to explore multiple different themes and clothing styles. I loved planning each events outfits to compliment the decor. I also loved adding little personal touches to each event such as custom drinks, a photo wall, and a champagne tower pour.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I believe the guests loved how much my husband and I truly tried to make each event unique and a good representation of us. We definitely did all the cultural and religious events, but we included a portion where our guests could enjoy the events. Our events were spread out, and we chose to have only one event each day, with our wedding week lasting a full week. Our reception was the most elaborate, with a violinist playing classic Indian songs and a saxophone player doing the same. This really brought the dancing and cocktail hour to the next level.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My husband and I repeated our vows on the mandap for everyone to hear. Although these were intimate vows, it's felt that much more special for us both to announce our hopes and love for each other in front of our closest family and friends.
Another special moment was during my pithi event. After the pithi portion was completed, my cousins decided to throw me into the pool. Not only was I thrown in, but slowly, everyone started getting thrown in. Eventually, most of the guests were also in the pool, and it became a pool party. These guests included aunties in their sarees and uncles jumping in the pool, spraying champagne. Although we all got a little more than that day, it was one of the best memories of our wedding week.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
My words of wisdom for future brides are to truly enjoy all your wedding events. It was my biggest priority for my husband and me to enjoy all the wedding events after spending almost 2 years planning it. The energy the bride and groom have radiates. If both the bride and groom are enjoying the guests will not only see it but match this energy. There are always things that go wrong but the wedding week is once in a lifetime, and everyone should enjoy this milestone in life to the fullest.

This celebration was a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and heartfelt moments.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met just before the pandemic hit in the fall of 2019. Needless to say, during the onset of the lockdown, our dating experience was probably unlike most other couples. Without restaurants to go to, movies to watch, or places to visit, we had to skip all the small talk and instead dive right into loaded conversations and really get to know one another. And it turns out that was the best thing that could have happened.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We had decided to get dressed for a would-be dinner in the city but diverted to an unfinished high-rise building when he wanted to “check it out”. He knew the concierge’s name which tipped me off that something was up. He let us up the elevator to a massive rooftop space that overlooked the city just before the sunset. Seeing the camera crew at the edge of the balcony, my heart began beating rapidly knowing that something was coming. He said some beautiful words that, admittedly, are hard to remember given the rush of emotions and adrenaline at the time but moved me to tears. He knelt down on one knee and I couldn’t say yes fast enough.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Needing to plan a wedding in 5 months while working full-time, I had to use my weekends wisely. Unlike most South Asian brides, I was unable to go to India for the traditional shopping experience for any of my outfits. I scoured what online resources and stores were available and found my wedding and reception outfits from KYNAH. I went to their store in LA with my maid of honor and it was an incredible experience. Also, having a smaller guest count made every part of the wedding feel more intimate and special. It also made the spaces we chose easier to personalize with more details for decorating. I loved my hair and makeup experience with C Minerva’s Looks. We had a wonderful experience with her for my sister’s wedding, and I knew I had to have her do mine. Caroline did a phenomenal job of creating what I had envisioned - very elegant and natural. The color palate we were able to use worked perfectly for my dream Spring wedding. I went with purple shades, focusing on lavender. The Mandap was acrylic with a spectacular flower draping, giving everyone a great view while also being every bit as classy and timeless as I wanted. We kept the Mandap for the reception, turning it into the DJs backdrop. We focused more on the atmosphere for the guests and really worked on the music playlist, selecting songs that were special to us and fun for everyone across all ages. And of course, we made sure that the food and drinks were to everyone’s tastes as best as we could while also getting our favorites. Taking the time to add those little extra touches resulted in a wedding beyond my wildest imagination and a party that everyone is still talking about.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
For my wedding, I didn't want anything red, just simple and elegant. As soon as this lehenga premiered on KYNAH, I fell in love. I loved the detailed, soft work while also being effortlessly classy. For my reception, I wanted to be different and not do another lehenga; instead, I chose something I could wear again. I picked an outfit that was glamorous and just the right shade of green. Substituting a dupatta for the cape gave me the ability to dress it down while still maintaining the lustrous essence of the original design.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Despite the time crunch, working with Rohan was a dream. Every aspect was collaborative, and our parents were always on the same page as us and completely supportive of every choice we made while also, thankfully, not trying to make decisions for us. Our wedding planner, Rima, took care of so many logistics and ensured that everyone was where they needed to be, when they needed to be there, and knew what needed to be done. Overall, getting to see all the details come together on our collaboration board was the most enjoyable part for me.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think our attention to detail really stood out. Everything ran exactly on time despite some wedding day issues. When we needed to make little adjustments on the day of, we were able to do so without disrupting any of our guests. We also made sure that we could take care of anything they needed personally. Luckily, we didn't have any issues on that front. And, of course, the highlight was just the incredible party we had on our reception night. All of our friends and family knew the music and were able to sing along and dance throughout the celebration.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Getting to walk down the aisle was truly memorable. Having all the people in my life that I love bear witness to such a special occasion really just hit me all at once during that walk. It was the culmination of not just work for the wedding, but also building a relationship with someone that means everything to me. A close second would be when my elderly grandparents made the effort to have a surprise moment during the dance performances on the night of the Sangeet. They stole the show.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We were able to have camera and film crews for the events that we held separately, like the Haldi ceremony. Andrew Do Photography absolutely did a masterful job in capturing ever moment of every event with stunning photos. Having all the planning work taken care of in advance and organizing spreadsheet after spreadsheet with down-to-the-minute instructions really made everyone's life easier. Especially when it came to the dances, everyone knew what to do and where to go for practices, lessons, and changes. We picked the songs that we loved, and my family and friends did the rest beautifully. It helps that they are all naturally gifted dancers. For the haldi we went with a traditional yellow themed decor scheme that brought out the great and messy result on my skin.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Do as much detailed planning as you can for yourself. Think about when to wake up each day and how much time it takes to get ready, and try and squeeze a bit of extra time for any contingencies that may be necessary. Also, have a couple of people that you can absolutely rely on for any last-minute outfit adjustments or coffee runs you may need. Trust in your planning, carry an emergency bag for touchups, and finally make sure you focus on enjoying and remembering each and every special moment.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Jewelry - Mostly just what I could find online, with a few heirloom pieces from my mother and gifted to me by my mother-in-law. Since I opted out of the traditional red lehenga for my wedding, I went with red stoned jewelry and bangles.

Cake: Three-tiered cake (chocolate cake with cookie buttercream filling, lemon cake with raspberry filling, and top was strawberry cake with buttercream)

Bridal Entrance song: Jag Ghoomeya (female)- From Sultan

Groom Entrance song: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (from Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga)

Mehndi - Because of the generally modern take on every outfit and the simplicity of the decor we chose, I went with a more traditional style mehndi. I personally think it worked great.

Venue - It couldn't have been better since it was extremely convenient for all of our guests, being a 5-minute airport shuttle ride away as well as being very close to the mall in case anyone forgot something. Also convenient for our friends who have kids to just let them run around a bit in the playground

A magical blend of tradition and modern romance, inspiring love and shared joy. Come back for more!
