Last month, we fell in love with an Indian wedding from Southern California planned flawlessly by the experts from Planning Elegance in these posts featuring the phenomenal photo chops of RANDERYimagery, and today, we're beyond thrilled to be giving you an exclusive look at the unforgettable wedding film created by Avec Lumiere Productions from that very event! This cinematic gem starts off with highlights from a pre-wedding celebration complete with mehndi and garba fun and leads into the big day, which features an outdoor ceremony and luxurious reception at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach! We're head over heels for the gorgeous lavender and white mandap crowned in lavish floral work by the talented decor team from 2Create Designs, who also went all out to deliver delightfully divine details at the reception! The blushing Indian bride dazzles from start to finish with elegant Maharani style, and with Dolled up by Lulu by her side, she was camera ready for ever event — sporting the most romantic hair and makeup styles. Her hot pink sari with a romantic side-swept do for her Hindu ceremony is absolutely memorable, and her red and hot pink reception lengha was simply party perfect and really moved on the dance floor! Special Occasions DJ & Lighting was in attendance to make sure each event was one to remember with a carefully curated playlist, and their dhol player and mobile DJ even helped to usher in the groom during his baraat! Check it all out for yourself!
The bride, on her wedding style:
"Really wanted a mix of classic and modern aspects to the decor and style as well as keeping things traditional since we were having a traditional Hindu ceremony. I knew I wanted to go with shades of purple as they would complement the colors of my outfits and it was a bright color choice for a spring wedding. Eventually decided to do a lavender and blush for the ceremony and dark purple and plum for the reception. We loved Saman's work and style with all the floral and decor aspects."
On her bridal fashions:
"My mother picked out my wedding sari and my mother-in-law picked out my reception lengha. I actually did not see what I was wearing until a month before the wedding. I loved both of my outfits. I knew I did not want to go with the traditional red/orange colors and wanted something very vibrant and so I loved the pink and gold for the wedding sari. For the wedding reception I wanted something in the same color scheme but darker shades. The lengha was just beautiful with all the embroidery work. Loved how the outfits looked in all the pictures."
On her and her Raja's first dance:
"I love dancing and am glad to have found someone who enjoys dancing as well. We were both on our bhangra team in college and always went to garbas as well. We wanted our first dance to be something fun and engaging for all our guests as well. We decided to do a small segment of garba, bhangra and then a slow dance. Our first practice for the dance together was 10 minutes before the reception started! Looking back it was one of the most fun things we did."
On her hair and makeup:
"I wanted to go for a very natural, minimalist, simple and fresh look for both the wedding ceremony and reception. I was "Dolled by Lulu" and Lulu was just amazing. She truly understood exactly what I was looking for and I loved all hair and makeup at all my events. Lulu was also just delight to work with."
Additional thoughts from the bride:
"Being Maharastrian, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to wear a nose ring. I think it added a unique feature. Our bangle chuda is also green instead of the usual red seen at most other Hindu weddings.
We absolutely loved working with all of our vendors and want to thank them all for making our special day so perfect. We cannot imagine the day going so well without them!"
Make sure to join us tomorrow for another incredible wedding film filled with Maharani style!
