Mishtis jelled excellently with Paranthas at the wedding of this Bengali Bae, Sumona, and her Punjabi Munda, Binny. Doodle Studio Wed-deography hit us right in the feels with this cinematic video that was set against the perfect music, and offered the right amount of interludes, thus enhancing every sentimental dialogue spoken. It is no wonder that this goosebumps-inducing video was showcased on CNBC! Urvashi Mishra, Wedding & Event Planner brilliantly orchestrated this cultural fusion, and House of Dipali perfectly decked up the venues based on each occasion. The Sangeet at Akbar Restaurant was lit up by DJUSA in an emerald green hue, and featured a fuchsia and orange drapes on the stage. As an actress and choreographer, Sumona nailed the dance performances through and through, and charmed us in a baroque black and gold lengha paired and an organza dupatta with sequin work all over. Joya Hall housed the intimate Haldi ceremony which was an ochre yellow feast, with Sumona bedazzling us with her dancing, and Doodle Studio Wed-deography, with a ton of aww-worthy moments. We then traveled to Maritime Parc for the ceremony, officiated by Pandit Sankar Parial, commencing with a Baraat put together by Equishare Baraat Horses. Binny summoned up all his Punjabi swag and danced his way in, in a textured red and gold bandhgala. Sumona had us glued to the video when she was getting ready - her nathni and matha patti bowled us over, and we especially loved the metallic gold and grey ombre eyeshadow done by Beauty by Tamanna. The elegant indoor ceremony mandap featured a gold and white canopy with a floral ceiling and marigold garlands. Given just how significant food is in both Bengali and Punjabi cultures, Moghul Catering did complete justice with an array of delicacies suited to everyone’s palates. Post nuptials, the party hopped on a boat to head to the reception at Greentree Country Club, a waterfront mansion with stunning skyline and landscape views of New York. Bhangra was cornerstone at this decadent reception, styled in white drapes and flowers, and a majestic white floral wall reminiscent of the Kim and Kanye wedding was the main backdrop. Sumona’s tawny lengha with dull gold flourishes paired wonderfully with her beau’s black tuxedo that was offset with a matching orange pocket square. Acute Inflections entertained the guests with a live jazz band during cocktail hour. Only Mood Republic Studios could capture the plethora of rituals and festivities in so much detail! The coming together of two of the most extravagant cultures obviously meant the ultimate galore of opulence, and a week full of festivities!
