Good morning lovelies! The glamorous wedding we have for you today was created by MaxPhoto NY and features the beautiful couple of Naiomi and Anwar. Their wedding was a lavish, elegant affair, with every detail executed and decorated to perfection by House of Dipali and Pedestals Floral Decorators. We love the shimmery, blush-hued decor and florals created for the ceremony at the Golden Terrace Banquet Hall and their reception at the Inn at New Hyde Park. Both venues were transformed into glittery wonderlands! Adding to a stunning atmosphere was the breathtaking Naiomi. She wore a variety of bridal looks, ranging from an elegant, beaded white wedding gown from Kleinfeld, to a vibrant, magenta lehenga from Rahul's Couture. Her hair, makeup, and draping were expertly done by Bridal Rang by Samiha, her intricate mehndi was by The Brooklyn Henna Company, and her Jimmy Choo heels were drool worthy. The couple’s reception venue, at the Inn at New Hyde Park, was magnificent, with the ceilings covered in numerous glittering chandeliers, and perfect uplighting giving the ballroom a dreamy feel. Naiomi, Anwar, and their guests definitely know their way around a dance floor, and we loved watching everyone rock out to the music by DJ Seane - Team Magnum DJs. The film ends perfectly, with the newlywed couple lovingly cutting their lusciously frosted cake from Francesco's Bakery. We hope you love this romantic video Maharanis!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
From the start I knew that I wanted something different, yet classic when it came to both of my wedding outfits. For my bridal lehenga, I wanted to stay away from the traditional red lehenga. Pink was definitely in mind from the very beginning and after visiting various bridal boutiques and trying on countless lehengas, I finally found the one at Rahul's Couture. It was vibrant and heavy and had just the perfect amount of class and Indian elegance to it without being too gaudy and "blingy," nor too simple and plain. It was perfect.
When it came to my reception gown, I again wanted something different yet classic - something timeless. Funny enough, I was convinced that I did not want a strapless gown, but again after trying on so many different styles and not being satisfied with any of them, my consultant at Kleinfeld brought in a dress and said to me "just try it on" and the moment I put it on, I knew it was the dress. It was strapless, but fit like a glove, it had the perfect amount of lace and detail and it was simple and elegant. It was everything I wanted in a gown and I didn't even know it when I saw it on the hanger!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
For the most part, I truly enjoyed each step of the planning process from choosing colors, flowers, dresses, the venues and rings to cake and food tastings and everything in between; they were all exciting moments, but nothing truly compares to seeing it all come to life on those days, seeing everything you envision finally come together so perfectly.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There are so many moments from our wedding weekend that stand out for me. One of which is the first look on the day of our reception when Anwar began tearing up when he turned around and saw me, it was such a surreal yet exciting moment that I was looking forward to for so long and it truly couldn't have been anymore perfect.
Another moment that I wish I could relive over and over again is after the ceremony just sitting on the stage looking out at all of our family and friends having a blast. All of the planning, mulling over the details and ensuring every bit of it would be perfect just became so worth it in that moment. Our families blended together so well and everyone was just letting loose and having a great time!
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The months and days leading up to my wedding, everyone I encountered kept telling me over and over again "Enjoy it, it goes fast!" and to be honest that would be the advice I'd give every bride. Yes you're going to dwell on the details, yes you will get stressed out over it and YES it will all come together in the end. So it's okay to go crazy over the details, it’s okay want so badly for it all to be perfect, but just remember on the day(s) of the event(s) to just let go and take it all in because it truly will be over before you know it!
So glam, right Maharanis? We'll see you all tomorrow!
