Here is a wedding that I loved in an instant! Abira and Nick were hitched at the beginning of November at the beautiful Palace At Somerset Park in New Jersey. The terrace of this beautiful venue was the perfect spot for Abira and her bridal party to prepare for her wedding journey. The bride was really lucky to have SV Bridal Concepts by Sanjana Vaswani who gave her a divine elegance to her Bengali bridal look. Groom Nick, also prepared the perfect wedding outfit, a bright red sherwani, just perfect for his first appearance as a complete Raja! The ceremony was a dream, filled with emotional vows, solemn rituals and a couple in love all captured wonderfully by PhotosMadeEz in film and in sweet images featured in our Platinum Guide Blog! Sajawat Partyland designed spectacular white ostrich feather centerpieces for the celebration. And as spectacular as the centerpieces looked, you will be mesmerized by the white gown the bride flaunted for her reception evening which made her into the brightest lady of the night! Every scene of this fusion marriage is a source of inspiration so don’t miss the lovely footage featured below!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Nick and I met for the very first time about 10 years ago at a party. We chit-chatted a little and then our paths crossed again 5 years later. Our mutual friend Michele thought that we would make a perfect match, so she asked if she could set us up. Nick and I met again and hit it off. The rest is history!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning was so much fun. I seriously wish that I could do it all over again. My theme was "Great Gatsby". I wanted a very elegant and glamorous wedding, with a 1920s feel. I told my decorator (Partyland Sajawat) my vision and they brought it to life, they executed my vision perfectly. For centerpieces, we went with big vases full of feathers, and gold candelabras. My friend Stephanie (Instagram handle - Gstarcreations) designed beautiful signs for me, including one of my favorite quotes by F. Scott Fitzgerald "I love her and that's the beginning and end of everything". Stephanie also helped me add a lot of creativity to our wedding (she made us a sign out of a hula hoop that said LOVE! - Hope the photographer sent this picture, if not, I can send it to you!). I really wanted to bring personal touches to our wedding. We hung our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents wedding pictures at the wedding, and used cool frames to decorate. I also wanted to incorporate the color gold in our wedding, so everything was gold.
Since Nick is Italian, when we were wedding planning, we wanted to honor both of our cultures. We really wanted to mesh both cultures. We did this changing out outfits - I changed into a white gown for the ceremony, and Nick wore a tuxedo. My bridesmaids wore gold sequin gowns and the groomsmen wore tuxedos with gold bowties. We meshed both cultures by making sure we touched on both traditions. This was really important to use and our families.
One of my favorite little wedding details were cocktail napkins we had printed with fun facts about Nick and I on them. We thought it was a fun way for our guests to learn about our relationship and our quirks!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests really loved the baraat.
Our guests also really loved the personal touches we added to our wedding. Our personalities, love for each other, and relationship really shined through our wedding. We had cocktail napkins with fun facts about our relationship. Since we both love to cook together, our wedding favors were little mason jars of Indian spices and Italian spices with a recipe card.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
One of the moments from our wedding that constantly replays in my mind are the butterflies I felt during our first look. I can't even explain the feeling. My heart had never felt so full as when I walked out, tapped Nick on the shoulder, and we shared a very special moment together.
For our wedding, while our guests were eating dessert, Nick and I slipped away to enjoy a moment together. We brought a piece of dessert outside, looked up at the stars, and reflected on how perfect the day was and how thankful we were for each other and our love. It's so easy to get lost in the planning process, but it's important to remember, that a wedding happens because of one reason, and that's LOVE!
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Let one vendor lead you to another. My photographer told me which makeup artists pictures look best in pictures, my wedding coordinators told me who the best decorators were to work with, etc! It's also great if your vendors have worked with each other before because they know how one another function, each others style, etc. It just makes for a really smooth day.
Do what YOU and YOUR GROOM want to do. So many people are going to have so many opinions about your day, but it's important to focus on what you want and your vision!
Hire a day of wedding coordinator or wedding planner. My day of wedding coordinators (TheBureau) were amazing. They literally took care of so many details and things that I didn't want to deal with the day of the wedding. My wedding coordinators really took care of our bridal party and families. From bringing us food and drinks to helping me pack for the big day, they were there every step of the way.
Stay super organized and take it one step at a time! I always booked one vendor at a time. I booked one vendor, then moved onto the next. I did everything one by one. I took my time really researching vendors, checking reviews, and really booking the best vendors for the best price.
Enjoy the day and make sure you pause a moment with your groom and take it all in. Just take one moment to enjoy the day. I wish you a week filled with wedding inspiration!
