Ami & Bobby's affair came to us from Pflugerville, Texas, and thanks to the talent of Tomas Ramos Photography. Electric Karma International looked after all the details and planned this gala to perfection with absolute success at the exclusive Courtyard by Marriott Austin Pflugerville and Pflugerville Conference Center. The venue was vibing with the dreamy decors crafted by Dhoom Decorations and the pumping beats of DJ Riz Entertainment. Such a lovely ceremony and reception couldn't have been possible without that impressive winning combination! Let's not forget about the traditional hair and makeup looks of Maharani Ami that were created by the super talented Mandy Hernandez. How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I have always loved the color green and when I was younger, I asked my mom what color her wedding outfit was. She told me green. I've always wanted something passed down from her for my wedding, but since her wedding sari was still in India and we didn't know what condition it was in, I looked for a green lengha. I kind of already had a shade of green in my mind and the type of work, but it was so hard for me to explain it to anyone. So I just kept looking until I found the one. The lengha I ended up getting for my wedding was much more beautiful than what I had in mind.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
When our family and friends came together for our wedding meetings to help us prepare and come up with ideas. I had so many family members, family friends who are like family, aunties, uncles, and cousins who came to help us make all the nashtas and sweets, organize the events in a timely manner, and just making sure that every thing was going to go on to be perfect for me as the bride, for the wedding weekend.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Whomever I spoke to at the wedding or after the wedding could not stop talking about how much they loved my family's entrance. I didn't have bridesmaids so instead, my entire family did this amazing entrance and dance the whole way down the aisle. It was amazing. I knew about it, but I didn't really know what songs they had chosen and who all was involved until I saw the video.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The special moment that keeps repeating in my mind was when we first saw each other in the entry way to exchange the garlands. There were a lot of emotions at that point going through me since we were the center of attention and the time for the wedding had actually come. It was a feeling of so much excitement while being nervous and loved all at the same time. I will never forget the feelings of us being lifted up by our families to exchange the garlands.
