Happy Wednesday, Maharanis! How is your week going so far? We bet it is going great! And it will get even better after you take a peek at Seema & Daniel's wedding because it is one for the books. It overflows with so much beauty and traditional flair that you will get tons of inspiring ideas, so let's jump right into it! We are starting this Wednesday by looking at the cinematographic delight captured by none other than Hakims Studio - Photography and Cinematography. And right from the bat, we have to say that this wedding celebrated at the Fernbank Museum is like no other you've seen before! Due to COVID-19, wedding plans had to change, but Seema & Daniel, along with the Planner Nida from Red & Gold Events, managed to make it through. And the end result turned out absolutely beautiful! A dinosaur-themed museum, traditional flair, and luxurious ornaments put together by The Events Designer by S.A were the perfect combination to take this wedding to the next level. Hands down, Seema & Daniel couldn't have asked for a better place to unite their lives in marriage. After the ceremony, there was a fabulous reception to celebrate this life milestone. All guests danced the night away and enjoyed the culinary experience prepared by Cafe Bombay Restaurant and Catering. If you don't want to miss any detail of this fabulous event, hit the play icon below and get ready to dive into this real-life fairytale. Believe us; you will love every single scene!
How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met him through a dating phone app. We first met at a go-karting place and we just talked for hours. At the time we met, I wasn’t in the place for a relationship but after months of being friends and realizing I would not want to talk to anyone else, I knew we should start this journey. And look! We made it! Friends for life and marriage.
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
No surprise on the proposal or the ring. We planned a trip to Atlanta to meet my parents so that Daniel could ask them for permission so to say. We had the ring picked out and ready for the trip.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I was a pathology fellow at the time so I was really busy. My family was helping plan the whole wedding and reception. Because I wanted them to have help, I choose Red and Gold Events to help out. Nida was a god send finding all the right people and really making the day special. My parents wanted a big wedding so we had a limited number of choices. In the end, we chose Fernbank for the openness and the beauty inside.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had a color in mind for my dress (a blue or green - my favorite colors). My mom kept buying ones she liked online and hand stitched them to my size. My dresses were bought fabric only and she put them together for me.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
This year was a hectic planning process given COVID. We did the best we could and in the end it came out well but those last few months of planning were hectic and not enjoyable given the number of cancellations and phone calls.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The photo booth. Most of my guests had never used some before and they really enjoyed making funny faces and getting a memorable photo out of the night.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Be patient and stay strong. For me, a pandemic was going to take all the joy of getting married away but with the support of family and great friends made during the planning process, it all comes together. Regardless the time it happens, it will happen and your marriage will be enjoyable and memorable for years to come.
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Henna was done two days before the event by Nikki. She did a great job coming to our house and being safe during the day. Because my mom treats everyone like family, we specially cooked lunch for her. Cake was done by a local cake artist and she took my idea and did a great job. Always look around when choosing a vendor. You can always get a good deal. Hakim studios did an amazing job on the photos and the album.
