Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Vellora Productions

Today we are sharing Nikita and Milan's wedding highlight reel. This romantic work of art was captured and produced by the talented Vellora Productions. With impeccable visual storytelling, the cinematographers captured their most special days chronologically. This duo's entire soiree was full of music and merriment and culminated with a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Renaissance Dallas HotelPalino Events helped Nikita and Milan helped them tailor and plan the wedding of their dreams. Kudos to the planning team for such incredibly well-executed events. With a long list of events, Maharani Nikita had to search for Red Lotus Artistry to assist her in preparing all her bridal looks! The beauty expert team draped and styled her outfits and created the bridal makeup and hairstyles for all her five functions. I am sure guests were in awe of all her unique looks! Divine Décor of Dallas took care of all decor. Ketan Mistry is amazing at coming up with fresh ideas and really portraying what you want through his work. Nikita says. Their reception had the incredible DJ Riz Entertainment, who made their last function a celebration that everyone will remember for years! They also brought all the way from England a good dose of Barfi Bites by Minesh Patel, especially for the occasion that everyone loved, and made this evening even more special! Scroll down and watch and get inspired by this lovely union through the lens of Vellora Productions

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
The better version is on our website!
I
met Milan through our multiple family and friends. Someone texted my mum a picture of him, which she sent to me back in Nov 2018, she asked “are you interested he’s 6’3” ?” I immediately said, “finally, someone cute and tall!”
Milan actually ghosted me twice so I was a little apprehensive to speak with him again. About 6 months later, my family and I went to Amarillo, TX to meet my sister's boyfriend's family. We stopped by Milan’s aunt's house (because my parents were friends with them) and they had planned for each of us to be there without us knowing. Milan showed up and I got so nervous. He was cute and very tall. My family left me there to get to know him, and we ended up going to a bar and talking for hours. He then went to drop me off in the Palo Duro Canyon so I could meet up with my family. I figured this would be it. We’re not going to talk after this because I didn’t know if he was interested. But then as we were waiting in the dark for my parents and sister to finish their show. He leaned in for the kiss, it was then, that fireworks from the show started going off. I burst out in laughter. It was so cliche.
We met up in Dallas 3 weeks later and he asked me to be his girlfriend that night. I knew Milan was the one after 2 months of talking, the final test was if Simon (my Goldendoodle) liked him…he passed the test. Milan is so caring and loving and he fits into my family so well. His parents are amazing and he’s my best friend.

We started the planning process about a year out (a couple of months after the proposal) I had 3 destinations in mind for my wedding so I started looking up potential venues and interviewing wedding planners. Milan’s best friend from college, Chanel Patel, was a wedding planner so we decided to interview them as well. Palino Events were fairly new at the time but I knew they would understand the aesthetic of what I wanted, we trusted them because Chanel was Milan’s friend and after speaking with them I knew they would advocate for me and Milan when speaking to other vendors and our parents! We all know planning an Indian wedding is 50% for your parents haha.
The hotel venue we used was Renaissance Dallas Hotel. The staff was kind and attentive, the venue was also beautiful and convenient.
Red Lotus Artistry from Dallas did all of the bride's side HMU and my mothers in law and her sister. Vidya is amazing and so easy to work with. She’s worth it. She provided services for all my bridesmaids and sisters plus my mum and Milan’s mum and aunt which is difficult to find a team large enough do to that. She also draped and did my hair for all events. She really understands your personality and translates that into your looks. I felt comfortable and beautiful for all 5 of my events! We even recently used her again for my sister's wedding in Cancun - in Nov 2022!
All of my outfits except for my wedding outfit were designed and made by KEVIV DESIGNS in Philadelphia! Vivek has so much attention to detail, gets you what you want and is honest about what is in and what looks classic! He helped me pair up my jewelry and style all of my looks! His communication was on point and he was always there for me throughout the entire process! Highly recommend!
Vulcal Orlando designed my wedding lengha and Milan’s outfit. It was amazingly designed and the fit was perfect!

My Decor was designed and displayed by Divine Decor Of Dallas. Ketan Mistry is truly an artist! He pays attention to what the bride wants. Which is so great when planning any wedding. He’s amazing at coming up with fresh ideas and really portraying what you want through his work. He’s a great friend now and I recommend him to everyone that is getting married! I truly was overwhelmed with how slot-on he was with my decor. Couldn’t have found anyone better.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I originally wanted a red lengha but my colors were emerald, ivory, and blush pink. I found a design that I fell in love with and added a few touches to it when I showed it to Vulcal we came up with the idea to make the lengha ivory and blush pink/peach!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Spending time with my parents and all the excel spreadsheets! I really enjoy planning events and using excel so this was a dream for me! ;)
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The decor, food, and the venue
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment we walked out to the welcome party/Sangeet. It was so overwhelming that I cried happy tears! Just seeing everyone there for us and how beautiful everything turned out was truly so memorable for me.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don’t be scared to ask for what you want. Have fun! Don’t stress too much and soak in every moment during that week. Pamper yourself the month of your wedding, if things don’t go as planned it’s OK! everyone will still love it as long as you’re not stressed. Don’t stress too much on the tiny details because people won’t notice. Lol
Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My bouquet was actually made by my mum with silk flowers because I want to keep it on display in my house. I have my grandmother's broach on there because she wasn’t able to attend my wedding due to COVID travel restrictions from the UK.
Most of my jewelry was from indiatrend.com and I got so many compliments!

My desserts were amazing, we had Barfi Bites flown in all the way from England made by my family friend, Minesh Patel.
We also had all of our cute and tasty desserts at the reception made by Charming Affairs By Noreen in Dallas! They were gone in literally 10 mins or less!

Overland Park, KS Indian Wedding by Michael J Scott Productions

Good morning, Maharanis! We're in the middle of this fabulous week, and if you are in the pursuit of inspiration, you've come to the right place! Today we are double featuring the magical wedding between Misha & Dipen. So you can enjoy the enchanting Photoshoot captured by Strokes Photography in today's gallery. And you can also delight yourself with the enormous talent from Michael J. Scott Productions, who is the mastermind behind the visual masterpiece below. This film enclosures all of the details from our lovebirds' love union, and we are sure you will love it. To begin this journey, let me take you to the grand Overland Park Convention Center, the perfect venue chosen by our lovely duo to tie the knot in a marvelous wedding ceremony fully designed by K.I. Weddings, who captured our couple's vision and made it a reality. To complete this vision, Occasions by Shangri-la added their talent crafting an ideal decoration for both ceremony and reception. Such talent! We can't forget to mention the look of our gorgeous Maharani, who dazzled everyone with a royalty look during the entire festivities. She trusted her beauty needs to Glam By Richa and her Mehndi design to Samira's Henna Designs, and they, of course, did an outstanding job, as expected! To conclude this memorable event, Raaz Entertainment jumped into stage and created a unique environment, with their phenomenal beats that put everyone on their feet. What an epic night! Don't think twice; click on the play button down below and let yourself dive into this magical journey!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met Dipen while we were both volunteering at a religious summer camp for kids. We met totally by chance when he came to show me how to use some A/V equipment. We didn't pay each other much mind but at the end of the camp, we connected on Instagram. After a couple of weeks of silently following each other, we exchanged numbers and we started texting/ talking. Within a few months, we found out we had a vast amount of common interests, values, and understanding. It was difficult to hold a long-distance relationship while we were both so busy with school and work but there was something about each other that we just couldn't let the relationship go. It was especially scary introducing our families to each other because we felt like though we had been "together" for a while we had only met in person a handful of times (due to the distance). Once Dipen moved to NYC for an 8 month internship we were actually able to meet more often, falling in love while we discovered the art and architecture of Manhattan.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We had been talking about it for a few months and he actually was able to completely surprise me. We had gone ring shopping in NYC a few times and I basically asked him to design the perfect ring for me because I couldn't make up my mind. Being an architect he had access to CAD software where he could design the ring exactly as he imagined. He made up a story about how his internship was ending early and he really wanted engagement pictures in NYC but the ring wouldn't be ready because it was too hard to use the software or the jeweler wasn't negotiating the price for him. We found a photographer and set up a date for our "not" engagement pictures- the weather wasn't cooperating so we actually postponed it to the next morning (little did I know what a headache that was for him!) That night we spent hours going over outfits and looks and matching our clothes over and over again. Groggy eyed we made it to our early morning photoshoot at the Brooklyn Bridge Park where our photographer, Konrad Brattke, met us. We casually took some pictures around the streets and famous carousel. Eventually, we walked up to the beach where there was a trail of rose petals leading to a heart. Dipen grabbed my hand and led me to the center where I immediately started crying as he got down on one knee and presented me the ring. After the proposal, he showed me the details he put in the ring that made it uniquely mine and a video he prepared of all of my family and friends wishing me congratulations! It was so thoughtful and such a surprise to see all of the planning and detail he put in to make it a perfect proposal

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We started wedding planning in earnest in September of 2017 by looking at venues in both of our home cities and by creating a preliminary guest list... the guest list did half of the work for us because we knew that the venue needed to accommodate a huge party. We also needed a place which allowed outside licensed caterers because of our religions strict dietary restrictions.  We narrowed it down to 2 great venues in each city (Minneapolis, MN and Kansas City, MO) and ultimately the dates for his home city worked the best so we began working with the Overland Park Convention center for our wedding weekend. OPCC was very accommodating with all of our traditions and requests. We held our Mehndi night and Manglik Prasango Vidhis at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Shawnee, KS for a more intimate environment and our Sangeet night, Wedding Ceremony and Reception at OPCC.

All decor was provided by Remmal at Occasions by Shangri-La. Dipen was pretty deadset on using this decor company in particular since he had seen first hand their work when OBS outfitted another wedding at OPCC. We did not have to work too hard to explain our vision to Remmal: we shareed some inspiriation images with him and important style elements we wanted and he pulled together beautiful and encompassing decor themes throughout the weekend along with his team. We had one in person meeting to quell our nerves but we were so happy and satisfied with the level of service at OBS.

My hair and Makeup artsist was Glam by Richa. Honestly with the amount of effort Dipen and I were putting into designing the event, a HMUA kind of fell through the cracks for me. It was february and I hadn't chosen anyone so I began desperately going to makeup trials. Frustrated that the first couple didn't work out, I saw Richa's work on a mutual friend's haldi look and I reached out. I booked her and hoped for the best since I ran out of time to go out for another trial. I'm so glad that she was there for all of my events though- it was a completely stressfree part of the wedding weekend to sit before her and just let her be creative with the look she created for each event. I am honestly not the best at doing my own makeup so I had no qualms about leaving it up to a professional but she really nailed it out of the park!

Our videographer was Michael J. Scott Productions from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We fell in love with their cinematic style and loved the detailed shots they captured which otherwise would have been forgotten or unnoticed. They were very fun to work with and we wished we could have done an epic engagement shoot with them too!

Our Photographer was Strokes Photography from Toronto, Canada. We met through a mutual friend whose wedding Jonita was shooting. I loved the airy, crisp style of the photos and when I saw that the pricing packages were named after famous impressionist artists I was sold. We invited Jonita last minute to Utah to take engagement pictures with us (and our wild family) and we were so impressed with what she captured in the few days we were there. The landscape and her eye for details made for beautiful captured memories.

Our DJ was Jay Rana of Raaz entertainment from Hoboken, NJ. I knew of Raaz Ent. from my brother's wedding where MC Carlos killed it. We basically knew that we wanted that level of fun and entertainment at our wedding too but he was also very professional and knowledgeable. Working in the industry for so long, Jay was able to share many of his tips and tricks for planning and even executing an event.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I always knew I wanted a Magenta Pink bridal lengha because I felt like that color suits me well and I love bold and bright colors. I wanted something traditional but also very contemporary. One of the greatest Indian designers Sabyasachi inspired my whole look for the ceremony and I couldn't be happier with the timeless look

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was spending time with my (then future) husband to plan out each and every detail of everything. We were so excited to share a piece of our lives and personalities with our guests that we planned everything to a T. We would hold our own conference calls and family meetings to plan and share each other's opinions about everything. We wanted to include our own brand on everything which meant that we designed everything.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our hard work in planning paid off in that the guests loved that there was no confusion and great flow. Each guest was given a weekend program with times and address of when and where to arrive for each event, we designed signage to display that they were in the right spot, we created an entire website where guests could RSVP, read about the events and amenities of the city, etc. Each guest felt a taste of southern hospitality and they felt taken care of.

Guests also loved the newspaper program we designed. We all know that Hindu ceremonies are long and sometimes boring so we created an 8-page wedding program designed like a newspaper with articles and pictures on the steps of planning from cake tasting to the bridal shower to intimate family ceremonies like the Chandlo matli and kankotri writing ceremony. We even included some comics and word games. This program not only explained the wedding but also gave the guests something to do and talk about.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment of the day took place before the ceremony at the first look- we were rushing to get to the museum before the sun fully rises and I was so nervous about Dipen seeing me in my outfit. I remember at first walking fast to tap him on the shoulder but then I slowed down as I got closer and more anxious. The photo/ video teams had me stop and wait for the perfect moment. It was both overwhelming and underwhelming to see him turn around- overwhelming because his eyes saw me as his bride and new wife but underwhelming because we knew that marriage was not going to change our feelings or actions towards each other.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We had a hand-drawn and watercolor vision for our wedding invitations which we tried to convey to a company but after a few weeks of the project going nowhere, we decided to take it into our own hands. I meticulously hand drew and painted each card face while Dipen imported the scans onto his computer where he drafted each card. We were able to comb through each aspect of the card from the coloring to the spellings in order to get everything perfect.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don't get so overwhelmed with the planning that you forget to enjoy it! Honestly sometimes I miss the late nights with my husband trying to decide on a decor theme or dreaming up a menu because we got to be so creative and imaginative about what could be done. If we had both succumbed to our busy lives we may have just ended up with another traditional wedding but adding in little details like hand drawn wedding invitations or thoughtful arrival notes really created a wonderful impression in our guests' eyes. We are so happy and proud when our friends and relatives tell us how much they enjoyed our wedding weekend because we both tried our best to make it a great experience for them

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
Mehndi was done by Samira's henna designs and it was honestly so soothing to have her create beautiful designs with the fragrant henna paste. She really took her time to draw gorgeous figures and without much guidance, she created such beautiful art. I really enjoyed the henna designs and her company.

For more filmy moments as this one, visit us tomorrow! We have more for you.

Clearwater, FL Indian Wedding by Riant Films

Hey there, dolls! Today we have a celebration that was truly blessed by the sun! Aarti & Vinay decided to celebrate their union with the roaring ocean as their witness and of course that our friends from Riant Films were there to capture all the wedding fun. R.A.G.Artistry was also there and managed to snap all the wonderful stills we admired in our previous photo feature. This gorgeous Maharani had everything under control for her big day of magic. When the Maharani is about to tie the knot she is a wedding planner herself, and ensures that every detail is taken care of! To assist the couple with the striking floral and decor, our good friends from Occasions by Shangri-la. Their undeniably skills and talent were put to the test, and as we well see for today's film, it was just magical! What was also magical was Maharani Aarti's fashion choices. She was just glowing from top to toe in every single one of the rituals and Michele Renee The Studio was in part to blame for that. She crafted her hair and makeup and the result was an Indian princess for the books! The Hilton Clearwater Beach trembled with these two! So, ladies, today's film requires some tissues because happiness tears will be on its way! Join us!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
My husband, Vinay lived in D.C., and I lived in Atlanta. I visited D.C. for my sister's birthday. We met in D.C. at Fig & Olive at Vandana’s birthday dinner. It was no love at first sight, by we immediately connected over an exchange of bad online dating experiences and interestingly, agreed to become each other’s, dating consultants. In the process of helping each other figure out how to date successfully, we found our friendship growing while spending hours on the phone together and felt connected over our love for elephants, Amazon shopping and shoes. After an amazing weekend-long date together in October 2015, we definitely knew there was something special between us. I'm not really the over-sentimental type, so I never really had a "you're the one" moment, rather many "this feels right" moments.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Vinay planned a surprise trip to Utah to go hiking in Mt. Zion. He told me that we were going to have a date night, and had me picked up in an Uber from work, which drove me to the airport. I was very confused, but he met me as the car pulled up to the departures gate. He sweetly and cleverly had packed my suitcase with everything I could possibly need. Once we reached Vegas, we drove to Utah. We went for a sunrise hike, and he proposed as the sun came up over the canyons. It was a beautiful proposal with just the two of us in sight for miles. We followed up the proposal with a few hikes in Mt. Zion and a fun day in Vegas.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Being a wedding planner myself (many years ago), we didn't need too much guidance going into the initial planning. One of the first things we did, was to gather both our families for a meeting, gave each member a post-it note and asked them to write down the top 3 aspects they envisioned for or at the wedding. We wanted to incorporate the things they envisioned when we created our vision. Vinay and I really wanted to have a destination wedding, and luckily the parents' were delighted about it as well. The hardest decision was selecting the venue, cause we had no clue what state, what city we wanted be get married in. We contacted venues in San Diego, Scottsdale, Denver, Charleston, Miami, and a few beach venues on the east coast. Through a friend, Tampa got on our radar, and from there, we selected Hilton Clearwater Beach & Resort. We didn't know why it took so long for us to figure that out since we both love water, and had talked about getting married on the beach many times. Once we signed the contract with the venue, the rest just fell into place. We hired a local wedding planner, Sokha Im with Apsara Events, for mostly wedding week coordination. She was just absolutely incredible, and could not have done it without her. Food being the most important aspect for Vinay and me, we wanted a stronghold over quality. After a tasting with a restaurant in Orlando, we went with Cafe Bombay out of Atlanta.  I have worked with him many times in Atlanta and knew they could deliver the quality and the variety of food styles. They brought a team of 10, and two trucks of newly bought food presentation trays and decor. They bought most of the vegetables in Tampa, and everything was cooked only hours before each event. Decor design was second important to us. We spoke with Suhaag Garden and Occasions by Shangri-La, but after many phone calls about our vision, OBS was just a better fit for us. With us loving water, and me being an outdoorsy person, the theme was easy for us. It needed to represent us, and what we love most. We went with the 5 elements of earth found in Ayurveda - Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Space. Remmel and his team executed the theme flawlessly! We loved our boho design for the Sangeet, and the simplistic mandap with wood pillars and the ocean as a backdrop, and an enchanted forest feel for the reception. Our hair and makeup team, Michelle Renee Salon, were so incredibly nice and kept our looks natural and elegant. My husband wanted to surprise our guests by learning to play the dhol, so took lessons with Sagar Patel, Dholi Saag, who also our dholi for the Sangeet and Wedding. The first vendor we signed was our photographer, Rachael Ann Gliebe with RAG Artistry, who I knew all along had to shoot our wedding. She's a magician, and definitely glammed us up! I love how flawless she made us look.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
We went to India for our wedding shopping, and I knew which stores I wanted to visit. My mom owned an Indian clothing boutique in Atlanta for 8 years, so we have suppliers that we trust and love in India. I bought my wedding outfit from Frontier Heritage and knew I did not want to wear red on my wedding day since I was young. I had always wanted to wear a dark blue, but after finalizing the beach for our wedding, wanted to make sure I did not want to blend into the background water. I decided on a pastel theme and found a gorgeous 2 shaded green. My husband went with a contrast light pink tone with a  design matching mine.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Without a doubt, it had to be the food tastings. We are foodies and loved making the menu, tasting all the dishes, giving notes on how we wanted it to taste, and making the final selection. Also, it was a task that the entire family got to enjoy, and we got to spend time with them.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Most of our friends and family still talk about how much they loved our wedding weekend, and it wasn't one particular moment for them, but the overall feel of the weekend. We wanted everyone to treat our wedding as a vacation, and that's exactly what they got. We had a pool party organized between the haldi and sangeet so our friends and family can all still hang out together. Even both our immediate families were there, relaxed and having a good time. We didn't want to stress our parents out at all, cause all too often weddings are mostly fun for the guests, while the parents and siblings are running around and taking care of tasks in the background. For that same reason, we didn't have bridesmaids and groomsmen so they can also relax and spend time with their significant others.  As the bride and groom, we stayed extremely relaxed, didn't stress out about the small things, and got to spend quality time with our guests.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our most favorite event was the Sangeet, cause its where we got to show our personality and incorporate our favorite things the best. Our favorite moment was definitely getting to play flip cup with our friends and family! We loved all the games we set up under the party tent. For my husband, he will never forget coming in on jetskis for his bharat with his best friends!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Oh man, I could write a 5 page paper for this question, but I think the number #1 advice would be to Just enjoy the weekend, and don't sweat the small things that don't go as planned. No matter how much planning goes into a wedding, some things still slip through the cracks. Secondly, rank the priority of vendors and set a realistic budget. We sent paperless post invites cause paper invites that everyone throws away didn't make any sense to us. We chose a free website to create our page, and did a few DIY decor projects for the wedding and gave it to Remmal. It's not a huge saving but still makes a difference.

Thanks for watching, dolls! Don't miss our next wedding film tomorrow.
