Frisco, TX Indian Wedding by Epique Cinema

Music moves the soul and for today's lovebirds, a music conversation started it all! Epique Cinema has a touching highlight film for us to enjoy and to end our week just right. Vimmy & Nikhil worked as a team and planned their dream wedding with the help of Elaan Events and Weddings by Farah who amazingly captured the couple's vision. The wedding festivities started with delightful mehndi designs by Samira's Henna Designs and continued with a traditional Pithi filled with love and joy for the union. Every detail of this beautiful wedding has a lovely meaning behind it, from the Omni Frisco selected as the venue to the colors of the reception, Maharani Vimmy thought about everything and shared all the deets with us below! It was time to get ready for the ceremony and our bride nailed the royal look with a traditional red lengha paired with stunning green and gold jewelry while Ms. Painted Lady created a sleek updo! An energetic Baraat led by DJ Riz Entertainment made everyone, from kids to grandparents, join the vibrant procession. Weddings by Farah created a timeless mandap for a sweet ceremony and an elegant sweethearts stage for our couple to end their wedding weekend. Hit play and join me while I dance along our couple with DJ Riz Entertainment's outstanding beats!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Nikhil and I have known each other since we were still in our teens. Surprisingly, he once picked my friends and I up when our car broke down and dropped us all off at my house back when we were acquaintances. I was friends with his cousins, and due to that, I ran into him once more. I had on a Weeknd hat, and we stirred up a conversation on music. I could see a couple of our friends looking over because they knew right away something was happening. Nikhil's phone was surprisingly "dead" and wasn't able to share his music information with me so he put his number in my phone and the rest was history!

Italy is both of our favorite country, with the history, immense amount of pizza and wine - how could it not. We both decided to travel there as our first big trip together. Starting on the Amalfi Coast and making our way to Tuscany. Since Nikhil and I are both extreme foodie, we had decided early on that we will try more local food and splurge on one really nice date night. For that, we decided to go to Ravello for the day. Nikhil told me we have a dinner reservation at Villa Cimbrone which is a hotel and has a garden within there, but the garden closes early so we have to be there at a certain time. He had photographers set up already and they decided since rain was in the forecast, we will push up the proposal. Once we reach the gardens, Nikhil hands his phone to a couple to take our picture (that couple was our photographers and that was Nikhil's signal to them that he's about to propose). We turn around and are admiring the view from the gardens when Nikhil starts being really sweet. It threw me off a little because we always joke around with each other, so I kept interrupting him asking why he's being weird. And finally he gets down on one knee - and I was blown away. It took me a little bit to even notice the photographers, but they captured my shock and happiness beautifully.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I love wedding planning is what I realized throughout the process. Nikhil and I are also huge football fanatics with the Cowboys being his favorite team and mine the NY Giants. Which was only fitting we choose Omni Frisco which is partly owned by Jerry Jones and part of Cowboys Headquarters. Also, I realized, Nikhil is one of those guys that will always want to help and support me. I used him tremendously in the whole planning process. He dealt with everything Venue related, while I did the other smaller items such as Decor. When it came to decor, I wanted someone I could trust, that would help me achieve the royal look I was going for. That when Farah came in, I went through every detail of the weekend every time I met with her and she came through and more that weekend!

Hair and Makeup - Let's say I definitely stalked many Instagram wedding handles. I knew a couple of things, I wanted my Sangeet/Garba to be very colorful. This went with my decor theme, as well as my outfit. For the wedding, I wanted to keep it classy and everlasting look (you can't go wrong with that ever). And finally, I wanted to have the colors of reception to be Silver and Blue (Cowboys color for my lovely hubby) and that's why my dress is silver and the decor is blue!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Just like most Indian brides, I wanted Sabyasachi - Unfortunately, I never had time in India to make it to the actual store but luckily for me, my cousin is really into fashion and has her own designer. I sent her pictures of how I wanted my length to look such as the pink and red oodhni. I wanted contrasts in there so I added the pink oodhni and the green jewelry.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Being with the friends and family that travel so far. It's stressful when planning to think you have so many people coming to your wedding, but when the time comes and you look around the room, it's crazy to think how many people love you to share this moment with you.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Nikhil and my goal was we want everyone from kids to grandparents to have fun. And from everyone we have spoken to they have absolutely loved the wedding and had the time of their life.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Walking to the mandap! I had no reason to cry, my parents live 5 minutes from my in-laws, but walking up there with my mama's all I could see was the tears building up in my mom's eyes.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Sangeet/Garba - As I mentioned above - color was the goal and I got that. From the decor, makeup to outfit. I also wanted most of my performances on that night.

Reception - I loved my stage. And all thanks goes to my decorator, who during our first meeting had her guys set up that look and I fell in love. It was something new for both her and me.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Delegate. I can be very controlling in a sense I like things a certain way, but having my in-laws, parents and especially my husband help me I think I was very stress-free.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I loved my jewelry. I know the type of style I wanted for each event and all I had to do was find it. The biggest thing when you go to India for wedding shopping is, do not let these salespeople harass you into buying things they want to sell. I was very adamant about my style and color - which paid off.

Enjoy your weekend, darlings!

New York City, NY Pakistani Wedding by Precious Moments NY

The pre-wedding celebrations are so much fun and mark the start of your wedding weekend. Sumaiya and Roushan had a colorful Mehndi party where the color palette included beautiful blue, gold and green hues. Our Maharani donned a gold and turquoise anarkali with a stunning long braid adorned with blue roses and I'm transported to a fairytale and reminded of Princess Jasmin! Bridal Rang by Samiha did a spectacular job creating the perfect looks for Sumaiya, looking like a true Maharani. The night was filled with delicious food and dance performances, being a preamble of what is yet to come! Maharani Sumaiya fell in love with the outside pool and gardens of the Crest Hollow Country Club, and now, I have fallen in love too! Our couple was ready to get married and had their first look under an intimate gazebo surrounded by lush gardens where they would later tie the knot in a ceremony with their dearest and nearest. Talented Raja Roushan drew out the stage of their dreams and Tamanna's Decor made their vision come to life. Our duo looked lovely in their wedding outfits, Raja Roushan in a golden sherwani from Samaira Men. Maharani Sumaiya brought out her inner fashion designer and had her wonderful pink and gold dress custom made with hundreds of Swarovski stones. Shining bright like a diamond! The bridal party started an energetic ambiance with their joyous entrance getting the crowd ready to welcome the newlyweds into their magical night. Hit play and enjoy this masterpiece by Precious Moments NY!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Roushan and I knew each other since we were little kids. Our moms are childhood best friends. We did not start dating until 2010. Our relationship was long distance because he lived in Michigan and then in Virginia.

My birthday is on Aug 12. In 2016 I had a birthday dinner with my friends and family. My best friend then drove me to my childhood apartment. The apartment has a garden area. It was all lit up. He himself lit up the entire garden. He proposed to me there after 6 years of dating. He proposed to me with a beautiful yellow diamond Tiffany ring. After I said 'yes', my siblings and his close family came out of hiding. They all watched from the background.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I went venue shopping for about a month. We had originally planned to get married in the summer of 2017. Because dates were not available for the venues of our choice, we moved it up to April of 2017. We decided to booked Crest Hollow Country Club. It was beautiful with an outside pool and garden area for a ceremony. As soon as I booked my venue and date, I called BridalrangbySamiha for hair and makeup. I love her work and booked her right away. I had a vision for how I wanted my wedding dress. I couldn't find it any stores so I custom made it with hundreds of Swarovski stones all over the dress. I worked with a designer in England. We bought Roushan's outfit from Samaira Men. For décor we booked Tamannas Decor.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I did not want a traditional red dress. I decided on a muted pink/gold dress. I found a designer in England and worked with them to create my dream wedding dress. I had them put hundreds of Swarovski stones on my dress. After receiving my dress I realized I wanted a brighter color for my dupatta. So I went to Sai Bridal in Hillside and had them custom make a blush pink dupatta that matched my dress. They made a dupatta that matched my dress exactly the way I wanted it.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was the details. Picking the stage, the centerpieces, cards, party favors, food choice, etc. Roushan and I are both detail-oriented. It was fun putting both our ideas together to create a beautiful event for our family and friends.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved the cultural with a modern twist to the wedding. They LOVED the food and all the options they had. We decided to cater halal international cuisine for appetizers. We had an entire room of appetizers with about 40 different options. For lunch, we had an option of steak, chicken, seafood, and vegetable dish.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The special moment that constantly replays in my mind is the ceremony. We had a small ceremony prior to the reception in the garden area of Crest Hollow Country Club. We invited only our close friends and family. We wanted it to be an intimate event. The reception had 400 people; we only wanted 100 people at our ceremony. The outside ceremony was very special. Roushan's youngest brother officiated our ceremony.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Roushan drew out the stage that we both wanted. Our stage decorator, Tamanna's Décor, made our vision come to life. We played the shoe game with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We wanted everyone to take part in the game. So instead of just Roushan and I answering questions, our bridesmaids and groomsmen also answered by holding up the letter "R" for Roushan and the letter "S" for Sumaiya.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy your wedding day. Do not stress out because the day goes by fast. Be in the moment.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My sisters and cousins made my bouquet and all the bouquets for the bridesmaids. My jewelry was from Samaira Bridal, my favorite bridal store.

Sadly, this soiree is coming to an end but if you can't get enough of this lovely couple, check out all the images featured on our Platinum Guide Blog!

Dana Point, CA Indian Wedding by ColorBlast Weddings

Welcome to another great love story, Maharanis! Today’s couple got engaged during a trip to the city of lights, Paris but opted to hold their Sikh nuptials at the sunny California! Overlooking the ocean the grand Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa offered the bride and groom the perfect location to celebrate their wedding holidays in the company of their dearest acquaintances. Starting with a series of delightful pre-wedding ceremonies and finishing with an ocean-theme sangeet night, Kiran and Anmol traced their path to their big day. I adore the color palette this pair chose for their special day, from the paper parasols, announcing the groom’s arrival, to the stunning blush pink in the bride’s lehenga and groom’s turban. All colors blended flawlessly with the natural color surroundings. It was a glorious day for an outdoor wedding and the guest seating area over the lawn allowed them not only to witness the union comfortably but to observe the ocean in the horizon! The beautiful aerial view shots, the inspiring music and the stunning cinematic records of one of the biggest days of the newlyweds' life, were produced by the talented crew of ColorBlast Weddings and invite us to experience the romance and the best moments of this love story.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Its a warm evening in late October. I'm on my way to a friend's birthday party with my sister heading to the Lower East Side. As my sister and I are standing in line waiting to get into the venue, I notice a guy wearing a white shirt standing in front of us. He quickly glances back catching my eye. I think to myself... he's quite handsome. Per standard NYC male attire, I notice a sea of Indian guys at the party wearing a white shirt (hurray!). As I mingle with friends at the party, I'm tapped on the shoulder by a friend who wants to introduce me to someone. I turn around and there is the same guy from the line. We exchange names followed by a few minutes of small chat. His name is Anmol. As the evening progresses, I talk to him briefly again. He's soft-spoken, polite, with a flair of exquisite poise. Little did I know, this guy will be the one I marry one day. He's one of the most inquisitive, respectable & caring people I have ever met. He conducts himself in a dignified gentleman-like demeanor with trusting in his inner wisdom, adoration, and cherishing amusement. His innocence and strong morals are the essence of his persona. And of course, nobody is a bigger fan of the New York Rangers than Anmol! I believe in destiny and the people that come into one's life are there for a reason...even if it's among a sea of white shirts.

Paris is always a good idea!

While on vacation with my family in Paris, Anmol calls me and tells me he's standing downstairs of the building where we were staying. Of course, I thought he was joking. To my surprise, there he was! The next few days were spent gallivanting the city, while the whole time he had me wondering what he had in store. During a visit to the Palace of Versailles, I was convinced he was going to pop the ring out and propose in the gardens. I mean how much more romantic can you get! However, he kept me on my toes until the last day. While crossing the Pont de Bir-Hakeim and watching the riverboats, he gets on one knee with a box in one hand. Wellll, let's just say I said YES! As if the heavens above knew, at that exact moment, tears of rain started to pour. In the midst of excitement and downpour of the rain, we managed to ask a wayfarer to take a quick picture. And then we ran as fast as we could, laughing and still pretty exhilarated by the whole scene. It was pretty darn amazing.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
The most challenging part of the planning was settling on a destination. We knew we wanted a destination and even had considered overseas...however we finally decided to host it in California. Planning a destination wedding has its challenges however once we started, things fell into place pretty effortlessly. Did I mention we picked our venue over Facetime! Yes! We sent our west coast family to scour out venues and picked it remotely! Risky but couldn't have asked for anything better! Honestly, without sounding cliche, I was on the Maharani Weddings website regularly looking for vendor recommendations. One of the most helpful tips was when vendors recommend other vendors, it was great to get the positive feedback and trust that we were only working with the industry's most professional teams. My wedding planner was amazing, I really couldn't imagine the wedding without her guidance and expertise!
Also, a trip to New Delhi was well worth it to grab all the ceremonial things as well as the bigger things like outfits.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Since I was in New Delhi for 5 days, it was crunch time to get both of our outfits. For the ceremony bridal lengha, I saw a bunch of designs and settled on a custom lengha that took about 3 months to make. I wanted a lighter shade lengha since we were having an outdoor ceremony. The colors we selected was a blush pink, with a pop of rani red, and ivory. My lengha was a unique pink. When I found the deep burgundy lengha for my reception in Delhi, I was the happiest girl in the world. Based on the lengha, we incorporated shades of maroon & burgundy to all our florals at the reception.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The best part of the planning was that Anmol was part of it throughout. He let me execute my vision however added in his perspective especially as he has a keen eye for detail! Working with our vendors was also a smooth process, they were professionals throughout and gave us creative ideas to consider from the layout to the selections of food.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We received an overwhelming response about the destination. Dana Point is gorgeous to begin with, so our guests were able to plan mini vacations around our wedding. Overall our guests loved the wedding, especially since we had the sangeet and ceremony outdoors to maximize the amazing weather.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
During the Sangeet, a full moon appeared right after the sunset. Since the wedding venue was on a cliff, guests got to enjoy a view of the mountains & ocean. As an added bonus, the moon was at its finest that night and made for a special moment that was captured by our guests.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Being that royal blue is one of my favorite colors to wear, I had to incorporate that into the wedding. We decided to have an 'oceanic' theme sangeet. Our outfits were royal blue along with our family. The decor consisted of different shades of blue with candles & sand and Moroccan lamps that were hanging from posts. We kept the decor minimal as we didn't want to take away from the view. Garden lights were added to create a softer ambiance.
Being I am Punjabi, there's no party without Jaggo! Let's say it was lit! My family did an amazing dance at the wedding.
For the reception, we wanted to keep the decor and theme formal and romantic. Anmol's tux was a deep blue while I wore a burgundy lengha.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Wedding planning has its share of stresses but trust that when the day arrives, it will all work out. Don't stress about the small stuff, no one will notice. On your wedding day, try to relax and smile. Your photographer will tell you to do that all day so take the tip! The day will fly so enjoy every minute of it. Trust the people you are working with and get a professional planner!!!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I tried to add a personal touch to each event. I ordered muslin bags with our logo from Etsy. For the sangeet, since it was outside, we had sunglasses, bangles, bindi's, whistles! I also had flip flops for the ladies and those were a hit! Canvas photos and welcome sign were incorporated into events. Our amazing planner was able to do a same-day print of a picture from our wedding ceremony to add to the reception (I mean talk about magic!). Before the wedding, I made t-shirts for my immediate family to wear (Game of Thrones fanatic meant GOT shirts!). My jewelry was from our jeweler in Jalandhar, Punjab. I found my mehndi lady on google and she was spectacular! Luckily our cake vendor was 2 minutes from our venue which made it super easy to coordinate the delivery. For bouquets, my planner was able to get these made the day before from a local florist and were gorgeous.

Pittsburgh, PA Indian Wedding by Veda Films

Welcome to Mrudula and Akash’s sunny Indian wedding affair out of Pittsburgh taking place at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh/Southpointe. The epic five day celebration was a mix of traditions from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, with a modern twist. The outdoor ceremony was a sight to behold, with Abhishek Decorators transforming a gazebo into a dazzling mandap festooned with intricate drapings and a chandelier comprised of over a thousand roses. So lovely! Studio Sheen Event Planning spearheaded the blissful series of events perfectly, pulling off a fairytale bash worthy of  Mrudula and Akash’s sweet love story. We loved all the whimsical touches found through the wedding weekend, including the white sunglasses the couple provided everyone during the ceremony. Guests also raved about the donut bar from the Pittsburgh staple, Peace, Love, and Little Donuts, and couldn’t get enough of the sugary treats. Mrudula and Akash’s reception soiree was equally spectacular, featuring decadent catering by Amiya Restaurant and non-stop beats by Volcanik Entertainment. Guests had the absolute time of their lives celebrating the newlyweds, and the party lasted until the wee hours of the next morning. Every beautiful moment was snapped by artists from Jorge Santiago Photography, while Veda Films captured all the live action footage you can watch in the stellar wedding film below!

Have a lovely day Maharanis!

Cleveland, OH Indian Wedding by Veda Films

Shasi and Rupesh’s Indian wedding bash at the LaMalfa was truly a labor of love, and kicked off with a rainbow hued sangeet bursting with color and vibrancy. Next up was the ceremony, which began with a bang with Rupesh’s energetic baraat. Rarely have we seen such an infectiously joyful baraat procession. Shasi and Rupesh’s loved ones definitely know how to dance, and we smiled from ear to ear when witnessing the pure euphoria parading down the streets of Cleveland. Once we viewed the decor setup for the ceremony, we were impressed! Bindiya Decor did a fab job festooning the space with a different aesthetic for each individual event, and we loved the romantic ambiance they created for the couple’s sacred vows. The pristine white mandap couldn’t have been prettier, and featured ethereal draping and red and gold accents that perfectly coordinated with Shasi’s royal lehenga. She resembled a goddess in an embellished ruby gown and bombshell makeup. Handsome Rupesh was awestruck with her beauty as she made her way down the aisle to him. Next up was the glittering reception extravaganza that was filled to the brim with sparkling candles and lavender luminescence. As expected, the night descended into a rocking dance party in which Shasi, Rupesh, and all their guests showed off their incredible moves. To witness all the joy, watch this beautiful film by Veda Films!

Hope you enjoyed that lovely film. Have a great Tuesday!
