Killington Grand Resort Hotel harbored the exciting Garba while the Crowne Plaza Hotel Warwick was the top wedding venue picked for the main events that finished up with a euphoric reception enliven by the sounds of D&S Event Solutions! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in college. I was a sophomore at UConn and he was a senior at CCSU. My roommate introduced us. She gave him my phone number without telling me and then he messaged me. We talked over the phone for a month and then we went on our first date - movie, and dinner. We had pizza. Five months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend in a Stop&Shop parking lot LOL. A few years later he asked to marry me and now we’re married!

It was my dad’s birthday and we all went out for dinner. Amit was running late. Amit’s dad said he had a present for my dad. He went to go get it and he came back wheeling a flatbed with a giant gift box on it. My dad opened the box and all sides of the box came down and Amit was inside with a bouquet of red roses (my favorite) and a ring in his other hand. The inside of the box had pictures of us all over. He was on one knee and he said “Janu, I love you so much. I’m so glad to be with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” And then he asked me to marry him in Gujarati! He said “Maari jode lagan karis?” Too cute! Of course, I said yes. :)
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I used Blueprint Occasions as my wedding planners. They did a phenomenal job with everything and I couldn’t be happier! I used Zuri Life for hair and makeup - they were so kind, fast, and efficient! Hair and makeup were done in 45mins-1hr tops! For decor, I used Design House Decor. The theme was “Vermont meets India” because my parents live in Vermont and I liked the country aspect with the trees and vines. I had D&S Event Solutions as my DJ- they did an amazing job! So many people praised them! Henna Cafe by Manisha Trivedi for henna. Visual Comet for lighting. The venue was Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island. All very professional and did a great job!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I had Ruchita Dagli, a very talented designer based in Boston, MA, make my Garba, Wedding, and Reception outfits. Every single detail on each outfit was perfect! The fit was perfect, the work was so intricate, and she even matched jewelry for me. I had no worries at all! It was more than what I hoped for.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I enjoyed planning everything, I can’t pick one. Of course, it was stressful at times, but all totally worth it!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The guests loved the food, music, and decor. They had a lot of fun! You can’t just tell from the vibe.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When Amit surprised me with a dance. He doesn’t dance but he did it for me!
