Lake Tahoe, CA Fusion Wedding by Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema

The sporadic rainfall that occurred during Asha and Eric's wedding ceremony simply added to the mystical beauty of this Lake Tahoe wedding. Here at Maharani Weddings, we are huge fans of Lake Tahoe getaways so were thrilled when this film by the superb Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema came across our desks. And the wedding, which took place at Squaw Valley Resortdefinitely did not disappoint! Sweeping aerial shots of magnificent, untouched NoCal nature juxtaposed against the bride and groom preparing for their big day captured the romantic, anticipatory energy of the event. This wedding was complete sophistication from beginning to end, and featured a rustic-chic theme that was overseen by the planning and design wizards at Once Upon a Time Events. Maharani Asha was the epitome of a poised, radiant bride in a lovely silk sari for her ceremony and a stunning reception lehenga from Neeta Lulla. Their fresh and airy mandap and florals were designed by Avasar Mandap and Thran's Flowers and seamlessly melded with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Their reception was a non-stop dance party - we couldn't stop smiling watching the glowing newlyweds and their guests rock out all night long to music by DJ Gagan with Bay Area Uplighting and enjoying sweets by Little Ladybug Bakery and Flour Girl Wedding Cakes! Check out the video below to witness more fun and glamour from the festivities!

That was simply stunning! We hope you enjoyed the film Maharanis!

Riviera Maya Destination Indian Wedding by Mike Cantarell Films

We can't get enough of sunny destination weddings these days, especially with frigid temps hitting various parts of the country! This ethereal gem of a film by Mike Cantarell Films features Crystal and Sachin's marriage celebrations in Riviera Maya. From the initial moments of the video, we were transported to a tropical paradise, with magnificent shots of crashing blue waves and sunsets, and Mike Cantarell Films' amazing aerial cinematography capturing all the excitement! The festivities took place at the gorgeous Hard Rock Riviera Maya and kicked off with welcome drinks at the venue's Solarium Terrace. Guests had such a fantastic time taking in the surroundings and mingling with the couple and the other guests! We are huge fans of pre-wedding mixers since guests can let loose and get to know other attendees, making the atmosphere at the ceremony and reception events so much more relaxed and enjoyable! The next morning began with the baraat ceremony, which was held beach side with dapper Sachin leading the crowd to the oceanfront mandap on a regal horse-drawn carriage. The ceremony couldn't have been more beautiful, with Maharani Crystal looking radiant in a green and red lehenga that contrasted beautifully against the ocean backdrop. The couple's euphoric reception was one for the books, featuring fire dancers, paint drummers, and acrobats. Check out all the incredible action in the video below!

We feel relaxed and rejuvenated after that wedding film! We'll see you tomorrow Maharanis!

Woodland Hills, California Indian Wedding by Robles Video Productions

Today’s wedding film celebrates Rishma and Varun and after hearing the enchanting story of how the bride and groom met, it is no wonder that Rishma fell head over heels with her Maharaja. It doesn’t hurt either with Varun’s medical background with an emphasis in animal care to really get a girl all starry eyed. This enchanting film will leave you believing in love over and over again! Maharani Rishma was dolled up by none other than Nida Gazi of Beauty By NG. With glowing skin, perfect pink lip gloss, and a sophisticated updo with a perfectly placed silver gold tikka; this makeup artist flawlessly executed this bridal look for the big day. Varun made a grand entrance perched atop a majestic horse. One of the most treasured moments of the wedding event was undoubtedly the bride and groom’s first look. The tear that formed in Varun’s eyes as he took in his lovely bride left us in tears just as much. The Marriott Warner Center Woodland Hills was the premier location both the wedding and reception and for the wedding day Floral Passion transformed the venue into a floral and fauna haven. Large blooms of peach and white florals lined the petal scattered pathway leading to a stark white mandap draped with fresh flowers. The wedding reception was an ultra classy affair with romantic blooms becoming the theme of the grand celebration. Rishma slipped into a gorgeous orange lengha ensemble that just glistened as she danced the night away. The night was full of dance performances, laughter, and the immeasurable memories captured by Robles Video Productions. So Cal Event Planners spearheaded planning and design with Dina Douglass capturing all the still action. Hit play and relive this night celebrating this coveted couple!

Another day, another Indian wedding celebration! See you all tomorrow!

Austin, TX Indian Wedding by Epique Cinema

Hi Maharanis! Yesterday, we shared photographs by Joey T Photography of Nikita & Rohan's Texan wedding, and we're so pumped to share their wedding film by Epique Cinema today! This film takes us on such a wild ride, and could hold up to your favorite Bollywood flick, featuring a gorgeous couple, sparkling fashions, and colorful dance numbers. We were touched to find out that so many of Nikita and Rohan's family and friends flew in from all over the world, including 20 family members from India who had never been to the United States before! So sweet! Nikita and Rohan put together an all-star team to execute their wedding vision, including K.I. Weddings, who always come out in force for all wedding planning duties, and the visionaries at Prashe Decor, whose design concepts continue to astound us! The sangeet, ceremony, and reception events took place Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, and featured delectable meals by Bombay Bistro, and non-stop music by DJ Prashant Poudyal. Nikita was decked out in hair and makeup by The Infinite Perfection and intricate henna by Nisha, and she glowed in every frame of this film! This couple and their family and friends are incredible dancers, and kept the party going past 1 am - Everyone looked like they were having a blast! Maharani Nikita fills us in on more details from her celebrations below, and you can also watch the video below to see more from these rocking festivities. And make sure to check out the full gallery to see more colorful moments!

Description of the Day from the Bride:

Our wedding week was AMAZING! I was kept happy and calm by my family, especially my younger sister and best maid of honor ever! We had friends and family fly in from Texas, Utah, Alabama, Florida, New Jersey, Washington, and about 20 family members who came all the way from India for the first time! Every event was carried out beautifully and my husband and I felt so much unconditional love. I was very nervous for our first look as my then fiancé and I were kept away from each other all day. As soon as I started walking up to him from behind, I immediately started tearing up at the relief of seeing him standing there. My husband always makes me feel so loved and secure, and seeing him made me feel that way just minutes before our wedding. We had so many friends and family give special performances and speeches during the wedding week. In particular, our wedding party of siblings, best friends, and roommates put on a wedding dance performance that highlighted our 6-year relationship. They practiced for weeks before the big finale and I still watch videos of the dance till today! I would go back and do the whole wedding week over again because of how special it was and what a great time we had planning it with our AMAZING vendors.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

I met my husband Rohan when we were both 19 years old at the University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em)! We happened to meet through a mutual friend and once we started to talk, found out that we were both Marathi. We spent some time together the summer of 2010 and by the time classes started, were officially dating. I knew Rohan was the one when he told his mom about me a few months into dating. Instead of feeling nervous at the possibility of meeting his parents, I felt excited for that next step in our relationship and what else was to come!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

Just shy of our 5 year anniversary, Rohan and I took a July 4th trip to Destin, Florida. He was living in New Orleans at the time so we drove the 3-4 hours to Destin. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun at the beach. Rohan had made reservations at a beach restaurant but when we reached, he went in alone and told me that our table wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes and we should take a walk on the beach. Looking back, it's funny that he even decided to propose to me, because I was so cranky and hungry and wanted to talk to the hostess myself - poor Rohan had to make so many excuses so I would just take the hint and walk on the beach with him! Rohan had a photographer waiting when he got down on one knee and we have the most amazing memories and pictures from that moment. I was so stunned at the moment that Rohan still reminds me till today that the first words out of my mouth after he proposed were "Are you serious or joking...is this really happening?" Haha!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

Both our families are Marathi so I knew that my bridal sari would be a traditional silk Marathi one (turmeric yellow with green glass bangles). I knew this was also very important to my mother so we definitely connected over shopping for my sari and choosing colors/patterns. I wanted a color that would pop with the turmeric yellow color as well as match my bridesmaids beautiful skin tones, so I chose fuchsia. It looked beautiful on every girl as well as against the yellow of my sari!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

When Rohan and I had our first look, I did not expect us to get emotional. The anticipation of being apart that whole morning all leading up to the wedding ceremony was making me so nervous. As I walked up to Rohan from behind, I started tearing up from relief that I could finally see him - he is the one who keeps me calm, cool and collected in all aspects of my life. Rohan also mentioned he was getting emotional seeing me decked up as a traditional bride. I think it's one of those memories that I did not anticipate, but smile when I think about every time.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

For our sangeet, Rohan and I wanted pops of color wherever you looked! We wanted the traditional Sangeet décor with bright shades of fushia, orange, and pink. We also wanted there to be personalized touches so we had 2 specialty drinks made. A "Niki-rita" (strawberry margarita) and a "Hur-Ro-cane" (a classic rum drink famous in New Orleans as Rohan had lived there for the past 2 years). Since there was going to be indian food the following day for wedding and reception, we also wanted to showcase classic "Tex Mex" food for all our visiting friends and family. We had the Hyatt resort prepare classic Tex Mex dishes (chips/salsa/queso, shrimp fajitas, spinach enchiladas, plus deconstructed tres leches and churros with nutella sauce for dessert!) We had amazing performances from 10 of his mom's best friends, my childhood group from Round Rock, and his 20 (!) childhood friends...some who have never danced before! This event made us feel SO loved that people put in all the time to give us such great performances!

We loved hearing Nikita's behind-the-scenes stories! See you all tomorrow!

Vicksburg, MS Indian Wedding by Sameer Soorma Studios

We’re excited to share the Vicksburg, Mississippi wedding of Nisha and Amar, with all photography and cinematography beautifully captured by the artists at Sameer Soorma Studios. The sangeet, ceremony, and reception took place at the beautiful Vicksburg Convention Center, which was completely transformed for each event by Mandap World. Mandap World planned, designed, and decorated the venue perfectly, using intricate draping and lush florals to create a romantic, glamorous ambiance. Maharani Nisha kicked off her sangeet in a striking orange lehenga, which perfectly complemented her pink and gold sangeet staging. She was a vision as she adorned herself for her ceremony in a vibrant red-orange and gold lehenga, Hollywood-esque makeup and hair, and perfectly chosen gold jewelry. The darling couple had their first look overlooking the mighty Mississippi, and it’s a joy to watch the emotion on Raja Amar’s face when he first laid eyes on his stunning bride. Nisha and Amar married in a stunning ceremony, under a unique, circular mandap with intricately carved columns, rich red draping, and lighting by DJ Hiren. Their ceremony was followed by an emotional send-off from their loving family and friends. The newlyweds then returned to make a grand entrance to their reception, with Nisha stunning in a bright blue lehenga and Amar in a dapper gray suit. Their incredible reception was decorated in cerulean and gold sparkles, and we seriously couldn’t stop staring at the decadent surroundings! Guests danced the night away on a beautiful white dance floor to infectious beats by DJ Hiren, and we loved watching how much fun everyone was having! Watch the video below for more from Nisha and Amar’s spectacular weekend!

We'll see you all tomorrow! :)
