Honolulu, HI Indian Fusion Wedding by John Martin Productions

I was a bit giddy after watching this cinematic experience by John Martin Productions simply for the fact that I always leave a piece of me when I depart from the beaches of Hawaii. After viewing the wonderful Indian wedding events that took place at the Kualoa Ranch, I am determined to get an invitation to a blockbuster Indian wedding with the world’s famous private nature reserve serving as the backdrop! With the blue hue of the ocean, soft, white sand and the daily sunsets, Hawaii is one of the best choices for a destination wedding! Guests enjoyed a mehndi night at the Banyan Tree Showroom the day before the Hindu ceremony in the tropical greenery of Paliku Gardens. Surrounded by panoramic ocean views and the sounds of the soft clashing of the ocean waves, it is no wonder that both Michelle Obama and the Dalai Lama have blessed this venue! This highlight video shot with detail in mind by John Martin Productions showcased aerial views of the bride and groom frockling on the beaches before marrying in a floral dipped purple and white mandap at the Kualoa Ranch in a traditional Hindu ceremony. The party then commenced to the wedding reception area of the ranch where guests danced the night away under a fistful of stars. Nada brought the Bollywood flair to the Hawaiian grounds in a twirling light blue and silver lengha! Revel in all the details for yourself by grabbing a Mai Tai and hitting play!

We love destination weddings and this is one of the best ones to date! We cannot wait to feature this wedding in its entirety soon! See you all tomorrow for another blockbuster Indian event!

Greensboro, NC Indian Wedding by Memories Films

At Maharani Weddings, we love a Bollywood affair! After all, that is our area of specialization! Brace yourself for this exuberant wedding experience spotlighted in mere minutes by Memories Films for Maharani Payal’s royal affair! At a glance, you may be mesmerized by this gorgeous bride, but it truly is in the details that made our jaw drop. On the forefront of all the grandness you are about to view is K.I. Weddings who has glorified the term luxury galore wedding planning. Honoring the bride’s wish for unifying elements of glamorous and archaic decor, we were stunned as each event handcrafted by Prashe Decor turned over a new theme! Adding the soft glow of a sweetheart stage with each step adorned with a glowing candle is one of my favorite decor inspirations to date! Maharanis take note! The bride herself donned different custom made Indian outfits for her various events that ranged in hues of deep tangerine, mustard yellow to one of our favorite colors of the multifaceted rainbow - emerald green! No Maharani is complete without her glam squad and Belladev Hair and Makeup Artistry, armed with their magical blush brush, primed and prettied Payal to perfection! Taking note of how well the bride carried herself for all her events, it is no surprise that this magical makeup team also draped and the styled our gal of the week in elegancy for all of her celebrations. The venue of choice is none other than the Meridian Convention and Event Center. Grab a cup of chai, put your feet up and hit play! You are going to love this multiplex of a wedding journey! We have a special treat from the bride down below, make sure you take a gander!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

The first time Viral and I met was at a mutual friend's engagement. Although we did not keep in touch then, we happened to see each other again while on a family trip to Charleston, SC and stayed in touch after. We talked for several months and finally met up for an "official" date while I was in South Carolina for work. Viral is a genuinely sweet guy and after seeing him interact with my family and friends I knew I could see him as my husband.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Although I initially had a vision for what I wanted the wedding to be in terms of style and themes, I quickly realized I would need a ton of help putting all my ideas together due to the size of our wedding. Our wedding was truly a labor of love. My parents and siblings were paramount in helping me come up with unique ideas and the rest of my family and friends were there to help execution process. A family member had worked with KI Weddings and I was able to see first hand how helpful it was to have a planning company to help everything come together seamlessly. All of our vendors were incredible to work with and made my dream wedding a reality.

I wanted my family to all compliment each other and match. For the men I made sure that their outfits went well with the ladies in my family which also matched mine. For example, for the satak we all wore green, and it turned out really nice, and we got a lot of compliments about it.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I was lucky enough to be able to go to India twice last year in order to shop for the wedding. Unfortunately, I did not have any luck finding my "dream" lengha at any shop with ready made clothing. My cousin recommended a design studio that she had used for her own wedding and I decided to give it a shot. It worked out perfectly because I was able to choose the fabric, color, pattern and dupatta to my exact specifications.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

I loved planning the details the most. Our Welcome Party was a Bollywood theme so I had old Bollywood movie posters personalized to have our families' faces printed on them and the Groom's table had a custom Bollywood movie printed tablecloth along with bottles of Thumbs Up, Limca and fresh sugarcane juice. For our Reception, we had an aerialist performing during cocktail hour and we had someone to do caricatures of our guests. It was so much fun to come up with these particulars and watching them come to life on the day of.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

I have done a lot of Bollywood dances growing up, and one in particular that I did at a competition saath samundar. I still have the outfit I wore and my niece actually wore that outfit and did the exact same dance as me. The thing that made it even more special was the actual dance I performed was playing in the screen behind her.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

For the ceremony, I knew I always wanted to use a blush pink color scheme. Pink was my late maternal grandmother's favorite color(her name was also Gulab!). I also wore some of her jewelry on the wedding day and incorporated photos of her and my paternal grandparents into my bouquet. It was so important to me to be able to honor them and include them in one of the biggest days of my life.

What a lovely Bollywood affair! We featured this wedding in November in all of its glory, you can check out editorial piece right here with images captured by CB Art Photography and Cinematography! See you tomorrow lovebirds!

Washington, DC Indian Wedding by Rimas Films

Crooning to the words of One Republic’s, “Oh this has gotta be the good life” and after viewing this cinematic blockbuster of an Indian wedding by Rimas Films, I have to completely agree that these lyrics most certainly fit Maharani Alisha’s epic wedding events. Here at Maharani Weddings, we are a fan of highlights because of the mere fact that visually, it is an exhilarating treat for us. Perhaps you are enjoying that last piece of pumpkin pie or cranberry sauce; we like to relish in the spicy details of bridal lengha and floral and decor. This Indian wedding is brimming with all the classical elements of a big fat Indian wedding we all have come to love: location, bridal garb and a stellar setup. We are swooning over the red and gold wedding bridal lengha, channeling the design work of Sabyasachi. Further, beautifying this bride’s natural glow, Makeup by Mala ensured that the bridal makeup was perfect and not a hair was out of place. Alisa wed Ilja at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel. Here at Maharani Weddings we proclaim this hotel to be the epitome of elegance and with floral and decor by Elegant Events, this wedding extravaganza planned and designed by Ketan Shah of Dharma Events is a direct reflection of our theory. The party was one festive event! The ballroom of The Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel was lit up like the inside of crystal ball with shiny lights and candle lit tablescapes that most certainly set the tone for the night. Dynasty AV kept the party moving with the latest beats while the bride and groom danced the night away until the wee hours of the morning. We can't wait until all the images taken by Katya and Arthur StoryMotion hits our desks! Hit play and relish in all these details - today we are thankful to share another beautiful Indian wedding event with you all!

We have some special words for you Maharanis! Head into the main blog to relish in what we are thankful for today! See you all tomorrow for Black Friday!

Houston, TX Indian Wedding Engagement by Tall Productions

We are often overwhelmed by the elaborate details alone, but this time, it was the video that completely swept us off! Punya & Ravi’s film by the very skilled Tall Productions was spot-on in terms of timing, locations, expressions, and just the perfect juxtaposition of music and slow-mo shots! That wouldn’t be possible without the artistic work of Mandap Creations and Johanna Terry Events who, for the engagement, turned Narin’s Bombay Brasserie into a red-and-gold extravaganza. Red Lotus Henna Company provided all the mehndi services on the night before the engagement ceremony. A Lord Ganesha motif made from red flowers adorned the stunning sequin gathered white backdrop, over which red tulle with shiny underlays were pleated and draped like curtains. We loved Punya’s au courant choice of an ombre peach and coral sari paired with a gold sequin blouse. Ravi donned a cream bandhgala with a floral printed dupioni silk vest in red. The after-party styling was turned up a notch with edgy styling, owing to the spectacular, glass-covered venue, The Astorian. Black and gold were colors of the evening. Black chiavari chairs and gold candelabras filled the space, and the savory treats from Celebrity Cupcakes and Bite Macaron were set up using mason jars at the dessert bar. Punya and Ravi’s party had the cutest displays of their photos, taking us on a journey all the way from their childhood to this momentous celebration. “We had personal touches throughout - our favorite Indian foods, a dessert bar with selections from our favorite dessert spots in Houston, a deconstructed photo-booth (aka the selfie booth), life-size cardboard cutouts of Ravi and I,” recalled Punya. She looked gorgeous in an embroidered gown from Jade by Monica and Karishma, heavily layered in blue and purple tulle waist-down. Blush and Glow enhanced her to perfection with a sleek updo and an ethereal glow. Ravi made for a suave groom in black tuxedo with accents of pink and purple accessories. In the bride-to-be's words, “the weekend culminated on Sunday night where there were speeches, games, dinner, and a ton of dancing fueled by DJ Zee - including a performance by the Rice Bhangra team we both performed on as college students.” Go ahead and hit play to dance along!

This amazing video was complemented by the talents at Biyani Photo. Is there a better way to wish you all a happy Hump Day? We don’t think so!

Novi, MI, Indian Wedding by Beaded Elephant (FKA Jobst Media)

This has got to be the most epic and creative wedding video we have ever come across! In addition to photography, with painstaking attention to detail, Beaded Elephant (FKA Jobst Media) dedicated the first half of the video to an Oscar-themed segment hosted by our bride and groom, hilariously adopting the roles of presidential front-runners Trump & Hillary! With the award category titled Best Love Story of 2016, Tasha and Ankush reenacted Hollywood and Bollywood movie classics that included Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Spectre, Aladdin, and Dirty Dancing, and clearly emerged winners of their own (love) story! The couple’s spin on Aladdin opened up a whole new world of fantasy weddings to us! We loved how the funk and merriment continued into the wedding hosted at Suburban Collection Showplace. Blissful Weddings and Events organized the event, teaming up with Colonial Event, the genius behind event design. The multifaceted Ekta Kansara did the draping, styling, and the mehendi. Guests were treated to delicacies from Rangoli Indian Cuisine. The Sangeet, also hosted at Suburban Collection Showplace, brimmed with vibrancy in every possible way. Both Tasha and Ankush donned floral, embroidered ensembles. Grooms, take note, because Ankush just showed us how men can totally pull off prints and color! The decor that was dominated by pink and orange hues with shimmery drapes peeping from the backdrop. Props to Bellisario Flowers for the vivid decor that was rightly offset by wooden architectural elements. The ceremony venue was tastefully done up in bright blossoms and drapes, contrasted with an Art Deco inspired white mandap. Tasha was dressed to the nines in a festive red lehenga, with makeup done by Amanie Mokdad. The endless dancing to the beats of DJs from Sandeep Hans Entertainment brought the cinematic flair to a full circle.

With a wedding that made us revel in the sheer joy seen on the faces of Tasha and Ankush, we can’t wait to see what the reception looked like!
