How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I met my husband on Dil Mil. He was living in NY at the time and we matched and talked for a bit and the conversation died down. Then months later we reconnected and started talking again. He flew down to Dallas to see me and it’s been history since.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
So every time he came to Dallas he took me to a random restaurant for date night. He never told me where we were going but he would always tell me how to dress. In October 2018 he told me he’s going to take me to a fancy restaurant and he told me to dress up. I’m extra so he didn’t have to tell me twice. I texted my friend Chippi a dress that I found and she straight up said it’s ugly. She made me change into something else. You’d think I would have some idea now but nope. So I finally wore the outfit chippi agreed on. He took me to reunion tower and after dinner he told me let’s go up and see the view. I was like no I don’t want to mess up my hair but he insisted that we do. Me being the clueless person I am was annoyed and said ok fine but I would be mad if I messed up my hair. We went up there and when he went down on one knee I said omg yes and tried to snatch the ring from him. I freaked out for sure and before he could ask I kept saying yes. He finally asked in between my screaming and my brother, his sister and her husband, my best friend, Prem’s best friend and his wife, my cousins and most of my friends flew in to surprise me. I was in so much shock I didn’t even know what was going on for a while. When I finally came to my senses I freaked out again because everyone was there. It was a surprise proposal for sure. He did good

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning was the most stressful part. I had a great planner and if it wasn’t for Shelley I would’ve been lost. All my vendors were so great and I can’t say enough things about them. I knew Riz before the wedding and one of the first people I called was Riz and he was super helpful. For makeup I was super picky and I went with Ishnae and omg they’re the sweetest people you’ll meet. They book up so quick and I literally booked them before I booked my venue. For decor we went with alpha and I was blown away when I walked into my reception hall because they went above and beyond. We picked Vinnie from VEK photo for photos and he’s very well known and he helped us get our videographer Ali from Aria. Ali and Vinnie are definitely considered the A team.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to India for wedding shopping. I got a South Indian Saree for the wedding and that was all my mom. She helped me pick it out. The reception lehnga was a huge mess since I picked it out from India. I got it from India but after I got back home I hated it. A few weeks before the wedding I found this Instagram page named mayasboutique and I got in touch with the owner Jenny and she helped me pick out my reception lehnga. It was so pretty and Jenny was super helpful. I wanted to stay away from red for reception but this lehnga was so pretty I ended up wearing red. I also ended up getting my mehndi outfit from her. My whole decor was peach and gold. The bridesmaids wore peach lehnga and the groomsmen wore peach tie and socks.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part definitely have to be shopping. I had so much fun picking out outfits for the bridesmaids. The bridesmaids had two outfits. They wore traditional kasavu Saree and jewelry for the ceremony and for reception they switched to a lehnga. I custom made the lehnga in India and it was the best. I picked out the fabric and stitched the outfits for them. I also picked out their jewelry and it was honestly so much fun. For ceremony the groomsmen wore peach kurta with mundu and they all looked super traditional and for reception they wore a suit that my husband picked out. We had our little ring beaters wear matching mundu and kurta with the groomsmen which was so cute. The junior bridesmaids wore red outfit to match with the bridesmaids blouse in the morning. Dressing up the bridal party was my most favorite part about the wedding for sure.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
DJ! Everyone loved Riz and Freddy. They kept the crowd entertained all night. Prem’s friends from NY raved about how great the DJ was. Everyone raved about the food too. My family friend Sunny uncle from India garden catered and everyone kept saying how great the food was. I’ve known sunny uncle since I was a kid and he went above and beyond for us. Also, we had a taco truck to end the night and everyone kept saying how that was something different they’ve never seen before.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The actual ceremony part for sure. It was something special for both of us and we loved how traditional it was. Prem wrote me a letter and I didn’t expect to cry so much as I did. It was so sweet and I definitely messed up my makeup.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don’t stress. Everything would be ok. Nobody is going to remember the small details and everyone is going to remember how happy you were. Hire a planner!! Don’t cut cost on that please. I was happy because the day of my wedding because I knew “Shelley got it”

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I’m a huge fan of Disney movies. When we started dating we used to love watching beauty and the beast. I told my henna artist Samira who is very very talented that I love the movie. She actually drew beauty and the beast on my henna. Everyone who saw it was amazed by how perfect it was.

Please visit us tomorrow, we have a great moment prepared just for you!

Long Island, NY Indian Fusion Wedding by Niran Jangogula

Happy Wednesday, beautiful ladies! I hope you are ready for the filmy time of the day. Today we are double-featuring Lohitha Dasari & Mayur's wedding celebration. We have this jaw-dropping gallery created by the talented team from BNB Photography, and we are also pleased to present the visual masterpiece by Niran Jangogula. And I know that you will love them both! To begin this journey, let me tell you that Lohitha Dasari & Mayur, made a perfect combination of venues to host their big wedding celebration! The Garden City Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Long Island, and the Crest Hollow Country Clu witnessed their promise of eternal love, providing the perfect setting for each ceremony and event. Just fantastic. To enhance the beauty of these venues, Stylish Events & House of Dipali created a unique environment with an excellent decoration that left everyone speechless. But who really stole the show was our gorgeous maharani, who look dazzling throughout the entire wedding events thanks to Kanwal Batool, who took care of all her beauty needs. So don't think twice and hit the play icon below! I know you will love it as much as we did!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Mayur and I initially dated when we were 15/16! We stayed friends after that for many years and always bumped into each other at random social events. Life happened and we reconnected again after I turned 30 and it was an instant connection. We had the same values and morals and instantly fell back in love again. Our first date was at a vineyard and we knew fate brought us back together for a reason.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Unlike other brides I hated the part of "planning". It was something that gave me a lot of anxiety because I wanted everything to be perfect. I had a vision in my head but had a hard time putting that down on paper. My husband who is a creative genius helped out tremendously in this department and pretty much executed all our ideas to our vendors. As our wedding was going to be on Long Island we had to find venues that could hold the amount of guests we had attending ( 800 +). We went with The Garden city hotel, Hyatt Regency and Crest Hollow country club. My hair and makeup was done by Kanwal Batool and her amazing staff - She has always been a dear friend to me so that was the one thing I was certain about. The Decor and theme we worked with House of Dipali ( Kiriba Floral) and Stylish Events of NY to execute the different visions we had for each event. They were an incredible help. Last but not least our attentive wedding planner Artistic Affairs ( Jharna) was there from the first moment to the last. She really gave us so many unique ideas and helped plan to perfect, we could not have had such beautiful executed events without her and her team!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
All my Indian outfits were custom done by Mom in India. I wore two different sarees for the wedding ceremony and they were custom made on the handloom. My mom actually picked out all the threads and warping and they were weaved by the weavers. Fun fact - I did not try on any of my Indian outfits till the day of each event! I trusted my moms choices and they all came out perfect. My reception outfit was an american white dress covered in swarvoski crystals. My family and I traveled to California to Karoza Bridal to pick it out as I fell in love with their designs on instagram. I initially envisioned myself in a mermaid gown but after spending hours there my mom pulled the perfect princess gown that I fell in love with as soon as I tried it on. Once again I guess its true, Moms know best.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment in our wedding was the first dance. My close friend Breanne actually sang our first song and recorded it and sent it to us all the way from Spain. She was unable to make the wedding but its something that my husband and I will cherish forever. We were serenaded with the most beautiful voice as we were dancing ; We truly felt there was no one else in the room as we danced.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our sangeet night was filled with so much laughter and dancing. We had so many people that performed and took their time out of their life to add something special and memorable that we can remember, we will always hold those dances and songs close to our hearts. I also wanted to do a combination of songs dedicated to my grandmother, Mom & dad and my in laws. It was something I always wanted to do and I am glad I had the opportunity to do that.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don't sweat the small things! So many things are going to go wrong and not as you planned but just remember this is the start of the rest of your life with your perfect love and that is what's important.

Wait to see what we have prepared for you tomorrow. It will take your breath away!
