Staten Island, NY Bengali Wedding by Precious Moments NY

The glam bash footage of Farhana and Minhaj’s wedding is a feast of visual delight! After getting married, this lovely couple planned, all by themselves like true professionals, a dreamy wedding reception at the fantastic Grand Oaks Country Club. The green lawn of this splendid venue was ideal for the couple to playfully pose with their entourage for the Precious Moments NY’s camera before the reception. Farhana’s makeup by Beauty By Tamanna enhanced the beauty of her dress creating a fascinating look! Ruban Events’ team showed their expertise by creating a beautiful draped sweetheart stage for the couple to comfortably listen to the words of love offered to them through lovely speeches from their dearest family members. The extraordinary entertainment of Atiar Sound and DJ created the best euphoric environment for the guests to dance all night long! Experience all the sights and sounds of the special evening of Farhana & Minhaj through their reception highlight film by Precious Moments NY!

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our color theme was light pink, dark green, and gold. We used those colors to arrange everything from our centerpieces to the bridesmaids/groomsmen outfits. We decided to purchase our own centerpiece items (fresh roses, eucalyptus, lanterns, tall vases, candles, etc) and Grand Oaks happily helped us set everything up to our liking on the day of.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I have always wanted to wear white on my wedding day while staying true to my cultural roots. Finding a white Lehenga with gold details was not an easy thing to do. After checking out every single bridal in NYC, I decided to venture out to New Jersey and fell in love with the shop Nazranaa. Shia, the owner was incredibly easy to work with and she had so many options in white for me! She actually made me try on the wedding dress that I ended up buying for my big day! The lehenga I ended up purchasing from Nazranaa had a very regal and sophisticated look that I was hoping for.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
We really planned everything by ourselves, and spending that time together really brought us closer together in the process. We both love to be organized and to plan ahead which made us such a good team. While planning the wedding, we were both working full time and I also started law school full time in May. So it was really hard on us but we worked extremely hard in getting everything ready. Having such a hands-on fiance was really SO helpful.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved the cocktail reception which took place in an area outside which overlooked the golf course. We received a lot of compliments on how perfect the venue was for the perfect summer day that wasn't too hot.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our first dance was to Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. We wanted to plan a choreographed dance but didn't have much time to really do it. We decided to slow dance and I'm happy we did because that moment really helped us catch our breath and enjoy the moment.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For the traditional Bengali Gaye Holud night, we picked jewel-toned colors as our theme. Ruban events worked really hard with us to help us design a stage that reflected our vision: a colorful but elegant affair. The hall we picked for the Holud was called Haveli Indian Restaurant went perfectly with our theme since their interior decor included gorgeous hand-painted elephants and other traditional South Asian imagery.

The women on the groom side wore red saris mostly, and the men wore purple kurta sets. On the bride's side, the women all wore green and the men wore a mustard yellow color.

The women on both sides decorated trays filled with sweets and gifts to be exchanged.

The bride, groom, and their respective bridesmaids/groomsmen also performed for their guests. The groom and his friends serenaded the bride to the song "my desi girl" and the bride danced to a medley of songs: End of time by Beyonce and Navrai Majhi.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
The wedding jewelry was customized by India Trend. I was very particular about the stones, beads, and polish and they were able to customize it perfectly as I imagined!

Our wedding garlands and my floral jewelry for the Mehendi was specially created by flowersbybhanu. She is such a talented gem in the community! See her work here: https://www.facebook.com/FlowersbyBhanu/

Funny enough, my henna artist Promy is now going to be my future sister in law. My brother met her during my Mehendi night and insisted that I to introduce them and now they're engaged! Her work is also out of this world!

Enjoy your Thursday, Maharanis!

Los Cabos, MX Indian Wedding by Pacific Pictures

Maharanis, we have for you today a super special treat courtesy of Pacific Pictures! Nirjary, a stellar wedding planner, and owner of KIS (cubed) Events tied the knot with Raja Amit in the gorgeous beaches of the Paradisus Los Cabos. The wedding festivities started with a midday Pithi-Sataak with a stunning view of one of Mexico's famous beaches. As a wedding planner taking care of your own wedding, you have high expectations to meet and Nirjary not only exceeded them but created a whole new level of creativity and elegance with the help of Vikram from Elegant Affairs, Inc. I'm so glad we scored an invite and witnessed their love first-hand! The celebration of love continued with an all-white themed mehndi party on a yacht cruise around the picturesque Love Arches of Cabo San Lucas allowing both families to bond. Maharani Nirjary looked picture perfect with beautiful white mehndi designs by talented KM Henna Artistry. All the guests gathered to enjoy a Sangeet night filled with joy, fire jugglers and even a dance performance by the bride herself! The groom started his baraat procession in the Paradisus Los Cabos's courtyard and danced joyfully with the crowd. They held a beach-front wedding ceremony creating a visual feast of green, champagne and coral hues. Their mandap was a unique design elaborated by Del Cabo Weddings that included mirrored columns and white garlands hanging from the ceiling, so romantic! This talented maharani personalized each event and their reception was filled with deluxe elements for the decor resembling a fairy-tale ballroom with large crystal chandeliers and lots of candles. Nirjary looked like a queen in a one-shoulder maroon gown with gorgeous embroidery patterns and Raja Amit looked classic in a black tuxedo. Erica Bogart Beauty complemented Nirjary's look with perfect hair and makeup. Hit play and get ready to witness a magnificent four-day wedding filled with glam and fairy-tale vibes! Don't miss their utterly sweet first dance that included a former Miss Iowa opera singer!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met online on an app called DilMil.  It's a funny question of when I knew he was the one. Well let’s just say he knew before he even spoke to me which freaked me out a bit, but as I invested more time getting to know him and we met physically for the first time March 17,2016 when I picked him up from the airport it felt so natural that’s when I knew this one was different.  He did what he said he would do, and made all the first moves and efforts which was different for me. Then as we got to know each other more and we both got deeper into our relationship by meeting each other’s family and friends it was great to see how Amit & I just fit into each other’s world and life.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Amit proposed to me on April 22,2017 Inc Savannah, Ga in Pulaski Square. We had spent the day walking around in the muggy heat and I was cranky and he kept making me walk around then finally brought me to the square and was like let’s take a picture which he never says since he doesn’t like taking pics, he had met our friend and photographer Nadia earlier in the day with her friend who lived locally he pretended to be an officiant in the square waiting for a bride and groom to conduct a ceremony. So I handed my phone to this random guy and he was trying to take pics and Amit sat me on the bench and went down on one knee and I cried a lot and then all of a sudden my friend Nadia was documenting from behind a tree. It was crazy I knew it was coming one day but didn’t know when.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Well Planning my wedding was a lot of fun for me because I do this for a living! It was also different because I was super detail oriented, as I am with my client’s events, but I knew I had to relax which was super hard. We knew we wanted a destination wedding and I wanted to get married in a destination where I had not done a wedding for my clients so we picked Cabo. I had all my vendors booked out in Feb. 2017 before Amit even proposed since that’s normal for Indian weddings. My first two calls/emails were to Kevin Shahinian of Pacific Pictures and Nadia Dzikavets of Nadia D Photo.  Having worked with them I’ve the years on my clients events and knowing the final product and how easy they were to work with, and they truly are my work family away from home since many seasons we spend more time with our vendors then our family in this business.  After that I knew I needed a designer to help me execute and orchestrate my vision which is why I chose to work with Vikram Panickar of Vikram Designs and Elegant Affairs our if NYC. I had the honor and pleasure of collaborating with Vikram on a client/friend’s event in Dallas previously and we just hit it off and I loved working with him because there was no drama he was always super calm, cool and collective and creative to the next level, it also helped that Vikram had worked in Cabo before so the choice was a no brainer.  After that I knew I could only handle so much in the week/weekend and I am lucky that my lively friend Andrea Pavone told me that she is going to handle the day of for me and I knew I had nothing to worry about as she and I have worked on many events together when I met her in her former career as a Catering Sales Manager and we are totally cut from the same thread.  My hair and make up was handled by a team of amazing artist that I have worked with over the years and have worked under our Bridal Elements Brand and special thanks to Carmen Lattimer, Roberto Guzman (Guzman Studios) and Erica Bogart (Erica Bogart beauty) they not only took care of me but my family ,Amit’s family, and my bridesmaids. They are definitely my family and know me well so all my looks were easy for them because they have worked on me over the years that they knew what I would like and not like.  My Clothing was a fun project for me along with all the colors I worked with Bollywood designer Archna Kocchar our of Mumbai for all of my clothes it was a great process and she totally worked with me on my vision to showcase different styles. My theme was a watercolor theme that was glam with many elements of the local culture but also our Indian heritage. I also made our guest wear colors that matched the events and it made for beautiful pictures. The venue was the Paradisus Los Cabos for 4 out of the 5 Events then we had an All White Yacht Mendhi Party in the Sea of Cortez sailing by the love arches.

We also had Jashn an amazing band out of Atlanta, The Paanwala out of NYC, Dholi Sagar from Atlanta, KM Henna Artistry for the Henna our of Dallas, DJ Impact from DBI out of Houston, local fire dancers and water color drummers, a Bansuree and Violin Player and last but not least one of my former brides Jessica Pray who is an Opera Singer to sing our first Dance song!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Traditionally in my family the bride wears a green blouse and a heavy cream/white panetar Sari but I didn’t want to wear the traditional Sari, and I am also not a person that likes things that are heavy with adornments.  My bridal lengha I went for all shades of emerald and jade green that faded from dark to light and I went for long cream cathedral veil. I love pearls and since it was near water I wanted the water elements. For the reception I knew I wanted feathers and went for a wine garnet color and I love a nice one shoulder.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Spending time with my family, especially with my mom, as she was a big help in making our wedding flawless.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
From what I hear they loved that each day was different and right when they thought it couldn’t get better then this each day it did!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment both Amit and i were in the mandap it was surreal. The mandap making wind chime noises  and also to see everyone in the audience that we love and care about there for us was very nice and heartwarming.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Pithi: Yellow, Orange and Fuschia Pink
Boat Party: All White with a pop of Pink but the scenery was our decor

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Now that I went through the wedding planning part for myself even though I am a pro at it I encourage all brides to get a planner you trust and you know is reputable and will do an amazing job and let go! Take it all in on the big day of because you have to enjoy the week/weekend with the people who came to celebrate you two!

My heart is filled with joy and I can't wait to see their wedding photos!

Baltimore, Maryland Fusion Wedding by RIMAS FILMS

Hey, lovelies! If you're always staying until the very end of any event, you would be thrilled attending a fusion wedding! These weddings usually last forever steering you through a firework of enticing rituals. Sherene and Raman's fusion wedlock included a tear-jerking catholic ceremony, following a celebratory baraat, a colorful Indian ceremony, and a booming ballroom reception hosted at the exquisite Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. It makes my inner Maharani twinkle with excitement that we got to cherish the beaming bride in multiple superb styles, starting out with a glorious white, silver embellished, wedding dress! The unique asymmetric design on top looked beyond amazing and slightly resembled a traditional Indian ceremony lehenga. After the Catholic ceremony came to its tearful end, the guests proceeded to a vibrant indoor baraat with a rocking dhol player and a danceable crowd. Next, attendees could take pleasure in exploring an Indian wedding ceremony at its best. The guests centered around the fabulous red and white mandap and our bride owned the room looking gorge in a deep red and shimmering gold lehenga. After the guests fueled up on tasty bites at the reception, it was finally time to hit the beats of DJ Nisrag Gurjar's playlist. The bride dazzled us once again twirling a new golden and enviable gown on the dancefloor. Now, take a long look at the love-filled moments captured by Rimas Films

Enjoy your day, Maharani!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

The first time Viral and I met was at a mutual friend's engagement. Although we did not keep in touch then, we happened to see each other again while on a family trip to Charleston, SC and stayed in touch after. We talked for several months and finally met up for an "official" date while I was in South Carolina for work. Viral is a genuinely sweet guy and after seeing him interact with my family and friends I knew I could see him as my husband.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

Although I initially had a vision for what I wanted the wedding to be in terms of style and themes, I quickly realized I would need a ton of help putting all my ideas together due to the size of our wedding. Our wedding was truly a labor of love. My parents and siblings were paramount in helping me come up with unique ideas and the rest of my family and friends were there to help execution process. A family member had worked with KI Weddings and I was able to see first hand how helpful it was to have a planning company to help everything come together seamlessly. All of our vendors were incredible to work with and made my dream wedding a reality.

I wanted my family to all compliment each other and match. For the men I made sure that their outfits went well with the ladies in my family which also matched mine. For example, for the satak we all wore green, and it turned out really nice, and we got a lot of compliments about it.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I was lucky enough to be able to go to India twice last year in order to shop for the wedding. Unfortunately, I did not have any luck finding my "dream" lengha at any shop with ready made clothing. My cousin recommended a design studio that she had used for her own wedding and I decided to give it a shot. It worked out perfectly because I was able to choose the fabric, color, pattern and dupatta to my exact specifications.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

I loved planning the details the most. Our Welcome Party was a Bollywood theme so I had old Bollywood movie posters personalized to have our families' faces printed on them and the Groom's table had a custom Bollywood movie printed tablecloth along with bottles of Thumbs Up, Limca and fresh sugarcane juice. For our Reception, we had an aerialist performing during cocktail hour and we had someone to do caricatures of our guests. It was so much fun to come up with these particulars and watching them come to life on the day of.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

I have done a lot of Bollywood dances growing up, and one in particular that I did at a competition saath samundar. I still have the outfit I wore and my niece actually wore that outfit and did the exact same dance as me. The thing that made it even more special was the actual dance I performed was playing in the screen behind her.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

For the ceremony, I knew I always wanted to use a blush pink color scheme. Pink was my late maternal grandmother's favorite color(her name was also Gulab!). I also wore some of her jewelry on the wedding day and incorporated photos of her and my paternal grandparents into my bouquet. It was so important to me to be able to honor them and include them in one of the biggest days of my life.

What a lovely Bollywood affair! We featured this wedding in November in all of its glory, you can check out editorial piece right here with images captured by CB Art Photography and Cinematography! See you tomorrow lovebirds!
