How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Roshan and I met in 2015 on a dating app called Dil Mil. We chatted on the app for a few weeks and then decided to meet in person. At the time Roshan was working in Birmingham, AL and I were working in Greenville, SC. We decided to meet in Greenville at a cupcake place called Chocolate Moose. Meeting someone from an app, I was a bit skeptical but once we finally were face to face it was like we couldn't stop talking. We hit it off the moment we saw each other. I knew at that moment that Roshan was "the one" for me!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
As a child I always envisioned myself wearing a traditional red and gold color bridal lengha. Once I actually got to India and started shopping I realized there are tons of “traditional red and gold” colored lenghas. Going into bridal lengha shopping I knew I didn’t want anything with velvet material.  I tried on over 25 bridal lenghas before I was able to find “the one”. At first, I was hesitant to try on anything velvet or with heavy embroidery. But I gave it a shot anyway. As I was trying on the outfit knew it was “the one”.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of our wedding process was the resort site visits in Cancun, Mexico. We had an idea of the type of resort we wanted but actually visiting them was great. Getting to experience the different themes in the resorts, foods, hospitality, amenities, and venues really helped us put things into perspective for our events. Lastly, we really enjoyed watching a years worth of planning come together as planned and got to enjoy it with family and friends.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment that plays in my head constantly is when my parents and grandmother (ba) walked me down the aisle the day of my wedding. Having my family walk me down the aisle was something I had always wanted during my wedding. Being able to finally embrace it and live it was amazing.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
For all of the brides-to-be, I would say enjoy the wedding process. Planning an Indian wedding can be stressful, time-consuming and at times frustrating but enjoy all of the emotions. For myself, I was planning my wedding the day after I got proposed to. I enjoyed having my husband alongside of me the entire way. He was really involved and reminded me to embrace the moments. Lastly, I would say to be patient on the day of your wedding and just know that things may go unplanned but it’ll all work out at the end!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I am a very simple person so dressing up more than casual for my wedding events was a little outside of my comfort zone. My jewelry I picked was antique bronze with a hit of maroon for my wedding day. I love tikas so I made sure to wear one at almost every event. My wedding bouquet was all hydrangeas which were my best friends favorite flowers. My outfits didn't have a particular theme to them I just wanted to make sure they were all different styles, colors, and embroideries. Lastly, I ended up finding my reception gown two nights before my flight back home from Bombay. I had a particular vision of how I wanted it to look and it had to be emerald in color (my favorite color). So finally I was able to find it and I was beyond happy!

Don't forget, every day a brand new wedding feature!

Buena Park, CA Indian Wedding by Peter Nguyen Studio

Happy Wednesday, Maharanis! Some days ago we had the pleasure to share Nirmal & Srikanth's grand Indian wedding pictures. The images were absolutely amazing! But we know that you, ladies, need more than pictures to get those ideas going. For that reason, today, we have the highlight reel of that gorgeous celebration that came to us straight out of Buena Park in California and thanks to Peter Nguyen Studio. The gorgeous Maharani, as we will see, was looking stunning for her big day. Dolled Up by Lulu made her presence known and assisted the bride with the lavish hair & makeup. You can almost feel the excitement as she waited for Raja Srikanth's dreamy arrival thanks to Cindy Cinderella Carriages! So romantic! The reception also was without a doubt another of the highlights of this spree, which was beautifully planned and designed by none other than the team from The Marigold Company, who as well, brought the fun photo booths for the guests to have their mementos in an instant. Seriously, when your party has the uplifting energy of 3D Sounds' music and the foodie wonders of Vishnu Catering, nothing can go wrong and that was indeed the case with this gala! We are so excited about this, dolls, you will be loving today's filmy! Join us!

Ontario, CA Indian Wedding by Peter Nguyen Studio

We are so excited to share today’s wedding film by Peter Nguyen Studio capturing the lovely moments of Purvi & Vishal's wedding events. Needless to say that this event was amazing, and we couldn't wait for you to enjoy all the amazing moving scenes and its fabulous imagery! We love the colorful decor that was present throughout the different ceremonies! But of course, there is no surprise here as B Unique & Elegant decor team has always been transforming venues into magical places and making every couples' dreams come true for a long time now. And talking about dreams, there is no denying that it is every bride's dream of looking like a princess on her big day, but this time, Purvi exceeded all expectations and ended up looking like a complete queen after being glamorized by Dolled up by Lulu. And no wedding is complete if the rest of the family is not impeccable as well, so we wanted to do a big shoutout to Bridal By Nisha for the amazing hairstyle and makeup selected to enhance the beauty of the family members. One of the moments that we loved the most was the first look. We love when couples decide to take an intimate moment to themselves before exchanging vows! After the solemn and emotional ceremony, the event transitioned into a reception party that had a great atmosphere. All the guests enjoyed the evening and danced the night out to the rhythm of the Fusion Sounds. It was a fun loving party that you don't want to miss. So, hit play and join Purvi & Vishal on every charming moment captured on this fantastic highlight film!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We were introduced to each other by his sister. He got my phone number and we talked for 7 hours that night. The next day he booked a flight out to meet me and from that connection from our first date, we knew it was meant to be.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Vishal told me he was on call at the hospital so I would not call him and my best friend, Tamanna, told me she needed girl time so she wanted to hang out with me and do brunch in the morning. Vishal then took a late night flight out to California and spent the night at a hotel in Orange County. In the morning, he bought flowers and laid them out in the shape of a heart on Crystal Cove beach. My friend then took me to the brunch spot on the beach and I see Vishal out of the corner of my eye next to big heart shaped flower petals on the sand. I immediately curse him out and walk towards him. He asks me to marry him. My parents and other friend are on the side videotaping everything.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
My best friend, Tamanna, helped a lot throughout the process. She is very organized and made me excel spreadsheets to help guide me through the process.

The Venue has never done a full on indian wedding and they kept changing things they said they would do originally. Would not recommend Doubletree Ontario.

Hair and Makeup: LuLu was great and very professional, she was always on time and does great work

Outfits: I loved all my outfits, they were all from India and my foi helped do last minute alterations

Decor: This took the most amount of time, I spent a lot of time picking colors and centerpieces. Everything turned out well.

DJ: Krish from FusionSounds was amazing and did an amazing job with lighting, dhol, and DJ. He played all the music my husband loved. I would recommend him to everyone.

Food: Mantra catered garba and reception, Sumit is very professional and gave great food and service. Swaminarayan mandir did the wedding, the food was good but they increased their price last minute during the event without letting us know.

Photography: would not recommend Peter Nguyen. His team was great, but he himself gets distracted very easily and you have to actively tell him what photos to take. He did not get any pictures of the food and during the events instead of taking photos, he was wandering around. His team members though are very focused and captured the best photos. He also promised to give us our video by March 27 and documentary edit by May 4 and still have not received anything.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went shopping in India and had my foi and cousins help me. We went to several shops and I had red in my mind. It was very hard to shop in India, but I ended up falling in love with a red wine colored lehenga. As soon as my cousins saw it on me, they instantly said this was the one. It did take a couple days to find it and I almost settled on another one.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Spending time with family for the different parts of the process. I got to spend lots of time with my cousins from India, who I rarely get to see because they are so far away.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved the entertainment at the reception and the food from Mantra during garba and reception.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Our first dance, we recreated the Hero No. 1 song Sona kitna Sona and had the original music video playing on the projector.

Mahwah, NJ Indian Wedding by Joseph Minasi Studios

Calmness and relaxation. Two important words that come together with love. When you love, you let yourself go and you access a place in which you dissolve with the person you love. However, the hectic movement of the wedding day has the potential to make our couples forget that. This was not the case with our featured couple of today. For this film, thanks to Joseph Minasi Studios, the calmness that went on right in-between the getting ready stage and the rest of the day, kick starts and sets the tone of the highlight reel. True love can be experienced through it and it is just so amazing! After the nuptials perfectly planned by Detailed Affairs Team, the newlyweds and their guests made contact with the dancing Shiva, during the lavish reception at Sheraton Mahwah, and expressed through that same movement, all the joy, and happiness that bursts into the surface when the heart is feeling good. So, join us for the cosmic dance, dear Maharanis, as we revisit Anuja & Ruchit's gala! Don't miss this heart-melting reel!

More magic in a bit! Are you ready?
