Buffalo, NY Indian Wedding by KSD Weddings

Maharanis, trust us, you’ll definitely want to watch the wedding film of Priya and Lokesh by KSD Weddings for oodles of mind blowing decor and design inspiration! We are obsessed with so many gorgeous elements found in the video, such as the curved ivory and gold pillars that lined the magnificent ceremony venue of the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Adding to the showstopping effect was the best use of florals we’ve seen in a long time - garlands that were draped like a canopy over the entirety of the aisle by the masterminds at Flowers by Johnny, Timothy Walter, and Fancy Florist. It made for such a dramatic and beautiful walk to the stage for the bride and groom! There was also an intricate mandap set up, which was completely decked out in an elaborate display of white and red florals. The organization wizards at Signature Events were brought in to make sure all details were executed to perfection! Priya and Lokesh were also dressed to perfection, in rich Indian garb that perfectly complemented each other. We especially loved Priya’s glamorous updo which was adorned with a beautiful crystal and gold headpiece! So pretty! The lovebirds were married in a ceremony rife with meaningful traditional elements, and ended with their loved ones tearfully sending the newlyweds off into the sunset! Priya and Lokesh returned with a bang, entering their psychedelic reception soiree! We were so impressed with the event’s cool use of lighting. There were funky designs projected onto their geometric, pure white cake by Signature Events, which created such a dazzling effect! We definitely think all you brides to be should check out the film for some psychedelic inspiration for your own wedding decor! The video ends up the dance floor absolutely packed and rocking out to music by Empire Entertainment - Jiten Khatri. The festivities looked like such a blast from beginning to end! Check out all the joy in the film by KSD Weddings! Also, make sure to scroll below for all the behind the scenes details from Maharani Priya herself!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We met through some mutual friends. He moved in with a couple of my guy friends and they hosted a party at their place a couple months later. He was one of the few people there I didn't know. Our friends tried to set us up, and it worked! I knew he was the one after the first time he cooked for me. He had told me he loved to cook, and after that first meal, I was impressed. Now I get his amazing home cooked meals for life!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

We'd been dating for two years and he told me he had a surprise planned for our anniversary. We hopped in the car and drove for what seemed like forever to the middle of nowhere. When we finally got out of the car, I looked around and saw a sign for hot air balloons. I'd hinted in the past that I'd wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride, so I was very excited! I thought that was the whole surprise. But, when we were at the highest point of the ride, he pulled out a box from his pocket. It took me a few seconds to realize what was happening. I looked up at him and he said "I don't have enough room to get down on one knee," looked around the small air balloon basket and looked back at me. And so I just kept staring back at him. After what seemed like way too long, I ended up having to prompt him by asking "so are you going to ask me?" In the end, he did finally manage to pop the question.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I was looking for something that was traditional red, but also wanted a hint of blue to match him. My family and I immediately loved the lengha when we first saw it - it was intricate, red and blue, and also subtly incorporated other colors to give it a traditional but slightly different look.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The best part of the planning process was food and cake tasting! It was a lot of fun and an easy way to get the whole family involved. Plus, our relationship revolves around food.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Aside from the open bar, I think they enjoyed the overall decor and atmosphere. A lot of our friends told us afterwards how much fun they had, and how surprised they were that things ran on time!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

I think one of my favorite moments was being carried out of the wedding hall after the ceremony in a doli. All my brothers lifted me up and carried me out. When we were planning the wedding, I initially did not want a doli; it seemed too traditional and outdated. But I'm glad I ended up having it because it was a sweet gesture and actually kind of fun.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

For our reception, we had our flower centerpieces and lighting reflect our shades of purple color scheme.

Our first dance was to ‘Are You WIth Me’ by Lost Frequencies.

We got a surprise performance by my family at the reception; my brother and cousin sang and played the guitar and my whole family got up and joined them on the dance floor. It was completely unexpected and they actually managed to bring me to tears.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Don't sweat about the little things! Everything will turn out perfect in the end, and it flies by so remember to have fun! Also, remember to ask some friends to bring you food and drinks throughout the night!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

We loved our wedding cake! It was multi-tiered projected wedding cake, so there were different animations/colors constantly being displayed on our cake. I had randomly seen the idea on Pinterest early into the wedding planning process as a fairytale cake idea and texted the concept to my parents thinking, this would be pretty cool! When we began seriously discussing cake designs months later, I brought up the idea again but it was quickly dismissed by everyone since, how would we even start to figure out the logistics? When we were getting into the homestretch of planning and still hadn't finalized a cake design, I started to get worried. However, my dad and my wedding planner both told me they had something up their sleeves and not to worry about it. I had no idea that they'd actually teamed up with our cake designer and figured out how to make a projection wedding cake work! It was the last thing I was expecting, and everyone did such a good job hiding it from me that the first time I saw the cake design was when I was walking up to cut it at the reception.

Makes you just want to eat a slice of cake and start dancing right? Have a fantastic day Maharanis!

Dallas, TX Indian Wedding by Memories Films

This vivacious Reeya and Aman’s wedding film was created by Memories Films and their event was truly one for the ages! Reeya is a proud alumni of University of Texas - Austin, while Aman is a devoted Wolverine (University of Michigan). They decided to pay homage to their respective alma matters by incorporating their school colors into their wedding decor at the Dallas Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center. As usual, the decor and florals designed by Prashe Decor absolutely took our breath away. Their sparkly, over the top glam aesthetic never fails to impress us and always results in such a fairytale ambiance for a couple’s special day. The festivities planned by The One Event began with the banging baraat in which the crowd went wild moving to dhol beats! We love that beautiful Maharani Reeya participated in the baraat by rocking out on her balcony overlooking the hoopla. We then joined the couple in a magical ceremony and reception. The reception event featured professional level dancing by the couple and their guests (Those Texan dancers are something special!) and ended with some Texas style partying on the dance floor! Check out the full video below for all the magnificent action from Reeya and Aman’s wedding! And make sure to scroll down for our in depth interview with Maharani Reeya!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

He claims he knew that we had the potential to be something special the moment he met me. It took me a little longer to get there, but I haven't looked back ever since. (You can read the full story at the wedding website!)

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

For the vendors, I used Maharani Weddings and other websites to do my own research. I also talked to friends that had used our vendors before we made a decision. Hearing personal experiences from friends goes a long way and I recommend that approach to anyone trying to do their own research.

Overall, we were very happy with each our vendors and would highly recommend them to others looking for vendors in the area.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I knew I wanted something traditional, but I wanted to add a pop of green. My mother wore green in her wedding outfit and I wanted to wear the same color at my wedding too. We did most of our shopping in Gujarat and some in Mumbai.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Clothes shopping in India with my family, while stressful, was a fun experience for us. Especially because we ended the trip in Dubai and had our first family vacation in a long time. Other than that, I think we chose some pretty great vendors. I was indecisive about some aspects about the wedding and placed a lot of trust in the vendors. I am glad that I did that because it made the process less stressful and more successful.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

The top three comments were about: our vows, the dances at the Sangeet, and my reception outfit!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Our vows. Hands down my favorite part of the wedding ceremony. I am so glad we chose to write our own vows and share them with each other in front of our family and friends. I think it really gave our guests some insight into who we are and the love we share.

I guess I should mention that it also rained a lot the morning of the wedding. We planned for 100+ degree weather, which is typical for Dallas in August, but we were wrong! No one thought it would rain! In fact, during my early makeup/hair time slot, all of our phones were beeping with alerts about flash flood warnings in the area. We were lucky that it stopped long enough for Aman have his baraat outside before the wedding, but it caused a lot of delays for our friends and family that were flying in for the weekend. Everyone told me rain on the wedding day is good luck, I didn't believe that at the time, but everything did work out.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

We chose orange and blue for our reception because it represented our undergraduate universities. I went to the University of Texas at Austin (burnt orange) and he went to the University of Michigan (blue). We incorporated the colors into our outfits too. At some point during the reception we also sang both of our school's fight songs!

Other than that, I am not a huge flower person, but I love the romantic lighting created by candles and was sure to incorporate that ambience into all the events.

The dances at the Sangeet were also very important to me. I grew up as a dancer and was very excited to choreograph the dance my friends did for me. They were so easy to work with and did a great job. I am also lucky to have joined a family that loves dancing as much as I do. My new nieces and nephews, in laws, and cousins performed some incredible dances that night. I also performed a solo with a special appearance from my hubby. The songs I chose for my solo were dedicated to both my parents and my in laws, and it felt great to show them both my appreciation through dance.

We decided initially not to do any dances at the Reception (besides our standard first dance, mother/son, father/daughter dances), but as a surprise, Aman choreographed and performed a special bhangra dance for me with his groomsmen! I was blown away!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Stay patient. Wedding planning is stressful in its own way for everyone. I promise, it's all going to work out and it will be perfect!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

Lake Tahoe, CA Fusion Wedding by Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema

The sporadic rainfall that occurred during Asha and Eric's wedding ceremony simply added to the mystical beauty of this Lake Tahoe wedding. Here at Maharani Weddings, we are huge fans of Lake Tahoe getaways so were thrilled when this film by the superb Wedding Documentary Photo + Cinema came across our desks. And the wedding, which took place at Squaw Valley Resortdefinitely did not disappoint! Sweeping aerial shots of magnificent, untouched NoCal nature juxtaposed against the bride and groom preparing for their big day captured the romantic, anticipatory energy of the event. This wedding was complete sophistication from beginning to end, and featured a rustic-chic theme that was overseen by the planning and design wizards at Once Upon a Time Events. Maharani Asha was the epitome of a poised, radiant bride in a lovely silk sari for her ceremony and a stunning reception lehenga from Neeta Lulla. Their fresh and airy mandap and florals were designed by Avasar Mandap and Thran's Flowers and seamlessly melded with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Their reception was a non-stop dance party - we couldn't stop smiling watching the glowing newlyweds and their guests rock out all night long to music by DJ Gagan with Bay Area Uplighting and enjoying sweets by Little Ladybug Bakery and Flour Girl Wedding Cakes! Check out the video below to witness more fun and glamour from the festivities!

That was simply stunning! We hope you enjoyed the film Maharanis!
