Buffalo, NY Indian Wedding by KSD Weddings

Maharanis, trust us, you’ll definitely want to watch the wedding film of Priya and Lokesh by KSD Weddings for oodles of mind blowing decor and design inspiration! We are obsessed with so many gorgeous elements found in the video, such as the curved ivory and gold pillars that lined the magnificent ceremony venue of the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Adding to the showstopping effect was the best use of florals we’ve seen in a long time - garlands that were draped like a canopy over the entirety of the aisle by the masterminds at Flowers by Johnny, Timothy Walter, and Fancy Florist. It made for such a dramatic and beautiful walk to the stage for the bride and groom! There was also an intricate mandap set up, which was completely decked out in an elaborate display of white and red florals. The organization wizards at Signature Events were brought in to make sure all details were executed to perfection! Priya and Lokesh were also dressed to perfection, in rich Indian garb that perfectly complemented each other. We especially loved Priya’s glamorous updo which was adorned with a beautiful crystal and gold headpiece! So pretty! The lovebirds were married in a ceremony rife with meaningful traditional elements, and ended with their loved ones tearfully sending the newlyweds off into the sunset! Priya and Lokesh returned with a bang, entering their psychedelic reception soiree! We were so impressed with the event’s cool use of lighting. There were funky designs projected onto their geometric, pure white cake by Signature Events, which created such a dazzling effect! We definitely think all you brides to be should check out the film for some psychedelic inspiration for your own wedding decor! The video ends up the dance floor absolutely packed and rocking out to music by Empire Entertainment - Jiten Khatri. The festivities looked like such a blast from beginning to end! Check out all the joy in the film by KSD Weddings! Also, make sure to scroll below for all the behind the scenes details from Maharani Priya herself!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We met through some mutual friends. He moved in with a couple of my guy friends and they hosted a party at their place a couple months later. He was one of the few people there I didn't know. Our friends tried to set us up, and it worked! I knew he was the one after the first time he cooked for me. He had told me he loved to cook, and after that first meal, I was impressed. Now I get his amazing home cooked meals for life!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

We'd been dating for two years and he told me he had a surprise planned for our anniversary. We hopped in the car and drove for what seemed like forever to the middle of nowhere. When we finally got out of the car, I looked around and saw a sign for hot air balloons. I'd hinted in the past that I'd wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride, so I was very excited! I thought that was the whole surprise. But, when we were at the highest point of the ride, he pulled out a box from his pocket. It took me a few seconds to realize what was happening. I looked up at him and he said "I don't have enough room to get down on one knee," looked around the small air balloon basket and looked back at me. And so I just kept staring back at him. After what seemed like way too long, I ended up having to prompt him by asking "so are you going to ask me?" In the end, he did finally manage to pop the question.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

I was looking for something that was traditional red, but also wanted a hint of blue to match him. My family and I immediately loved the lengha when we first saw it - it was intricate, red and blue, and also subtly incorporated other colors to give it a traditional but slightly different look.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The best part of the planning process was food and cake tasting! It was a lot of fun and an easy way to get the whole family involved. Plus, our relationship revolves around food.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?

Aside from the open bar, I think they enjoyed the overall decor and atmosphere. A lot of our friends told us afterwards how much fun they had, and how surprised they were that things ran on time!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

I think one of my favorite moments was being carried out of the wedding hall after the ceremony in a doli. All my brothers lifted me up and carried me out. When we were planning the wedding, I initially did not want a doli; it seemed too traditional and outdated. But I'm glad I ended up having it because it was a sweet gesture and actually kind of fun.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

For our reception, we had our flower centerpieces and lighting reflect our shades of purple color scheme.

Our first dance was to ‘Are You WIth Me’ by Lost Frequencies.

We got a surprise performance by my family at the reception; my brother and cousin sang and played the guitar and my whole family got up and joined them on the dance floor. It was completely unexpected and they actually managed to bring me to tears.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Don't sweat about the little things! Everything will turn out perfect in the end, and it flies by so remember to have fun! Also, remember to ask some friends to bring you food and drinks throughout the night!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)

We loved our wedding cake! It was multi-tiered projected wedding cake, so there were different animations/colors constantly being displayed on our cake. I had randomly seen the idea on Pinterest early into the wedding planning process as a fairytale cake idea and texted the concept to my parents thinking, this would be pretty cool! When we began seriously discussing cake designs months later, I brought up the idea again but it was quickly dismissed by everyone since, how would we even start to figure out the logistics? When we were getting into the homestretch of planning and still hadn't finalized a cake design, I started to get worried. However, my dad and my wedding planner both told me they had something up their sleeves and not to worry about it. I had no idea that they'd actually teamed up with our cake designer and figured out how to make a projection wedding cake work! It was the last thing I was expecting, and everyone did such a good job hiding it from me that the first time I saw the cake design was when I was walking up to cut it at the reception.

Makes you just want to eat a slice of cake and start dancing right? Have a fantastic day Maharanis!

Woodbury, NY Wedding by John Martin Productions

Every single detail of Lisa and Bevin’s wedding was pure perfection! John Martin Productions captured the magical proceedings in a short film that left us breathless! Lisa and Bevin have impeccable taste, and we loved the variety of spaces at the luxurious Crest Hollow Country Club that they held their wedding events in, including the gorgeous outdoor grounds and the grandiose ballroom. We love it when weddings utilize the best of both worlds, with guests getting to enjoy the pristine outdoors while tucking into a grand ballroom as temperatures dip at nightfall. We really appreciated that Lisa and Bevin’s outdoor ceremony was held after sunset and was illuminated with flickering torches. Such a romantic atmosphere! Also, Lisa and Bevin seem to know the cutest children ever, and their flower girls and junior bridesmaids made us melt into a puddle of adorableness! And we melted further when gorgeous Maharani Lisa made her way down the aisle. She was pure radiance in hair and makeup by Stephanie Sergio, a chiffon mermaid gown, and sparkling jewels by Samaira Bridal. By Raja Bevin’s awestruck expression, we know he agreed! As the ceremony came to a close and the elated couple were pronounced husband and wife, guests were ushered indoors where the ballroom was decked out in sunset hues, from the uplighting by Crest Hollow Country Club, to the lush roses, tablescapes, and stage design by the decor visionaries at Stylish Events. Lisa and Bevin made a jubilant reception entrance surrounded by a gaggle of precious children, and the night immediately blasted off into a whirlwind of laughter, dancing, and love! Maharanis, hit play to relive all the glorious details of Lisa and Bevin’s wedding fiesta!

So lovely right Maharanis? We'll see you tomorrow with another stunning wedding film!

Orange County Wedding by Samson Productions

This wedding feature by Samson Productions took us on such a whirlwind of emotions! Featuring sweeping cinematic angles and the beautiful love story of Filza and Zaid, we wanted to watch this on repeat! The film included very emotional moments, especially during the couple’s Nikkah at the Institute of Knowledge. Maharani Filza looked like a dream in a blush gown, with lovely glittery embellishments, masterful hair and makeup by Nida Gazi, and perfectly curated jewelry. She literally sparkled in every shot and was the definition of a picture perfect bride! All you Brides to Be will definitely want to check out her look for some fashion inspo! Meanwhile, her Raja Zaid looked handsome as well, perfectly coordinating with his Maharani in a regal sherwani. After their ceremony, the couple’s guests showcased their love for the newlyweds at the Hyatt Regency Orange County reception in the form of speeches and Bollywood-esque performances! We loved the reception decor by Nafees Occasions. In our eyes, there’s nothing more cheerful than bright yellow, orange, and pink together! Filza and Zaid come from enormous families, and their reception was 900 guests strong! We absolutely loved the cuts in the video by Samson Productions, which featured words of wisdom and advice from the couple’s nearest and dearest. These interludes ranged from welcoming the couple to the family, to asking Filza and Zaid to make sure their future son was a Laker’s fan! So many laugh out loud gems! Watch the video below for more touching and hysterical moments!

It's almost Friday Maharanis! We will see you bright and early tomorrow morning with another gorg film!

New Jersey Indian Wedding by Joie Elie Photography & Cinematography

We always perk up when we come across a New Jersey wedding, since some of the most stunning events seem to come from lovely Garden State! We were definitely wowed by Nisha and Shiv’s magnificent celebrations, captured beautifully by the photographers and cinematographers from Joie Elie Photography & Cinematography. The events began at the gorgeous Bridgewater Marriott, where the staff are utter pros at hosting Indian wedding celebrations. The hall was further beautified by lush draping and florals, including an intricate rose petal design adorning the aisle! We think this is such an effective way to decorate with petals, and photographs ever so beautifully! We were also obsessed with the buds adorning Maharani Nisha’s dramatic plait created by BridalByJyoti. All you brides to be should definitely check out these floral details for some instant wedding inspo! Maharani Nisha was a vision in silk as she made her way down the aisle, and the lovely couple took part in a ceremony rife in tradition! Nisha and Shiv then switched modes and transformed from traditional newlyweds to absolute fashionistas for their chic and modern reception! The event boasted elegant white and blush decor, a magnificent rose backdrop (so much floral inspiration everywhere at this event!), and a beautiful white, four-tiered cake. The film ends on a literal high note, with Nisha and Shiv on their guests’ shoulders, rocking out to energetic Bollywood beats by Dj Suj! Relive all the stunning moments in the film by Joie Elie Photography & Cinematography!

Maharanis, we’ll see you here tomorrow with another cinematic masterpiece!

Chicago, IL Indian Wedding by Wynn Films

Hey dolls! So glad to see you have made a return. We love Sonam and Harpeet so much that we return with their wedding but in cinematic form captured by Wynn Films. The pre ceremony garba night took place at the Ashyana Banquets and the dancing took place around a statue of deities and candles. It always warms my heart when I see brides honoring the mythical Hindu gods in their ceremonies. Both the wedding and reception took place at the Doubletree by Hilton Chicago - Oak Brook. Sonam is a natural stunner but with the magic touch of her makeup artist she becomes a walking masterpiece. I am in love with her bridal look because it reminds so much of Rajastani brides of ancient India. Oversized kundan pieces, the traditional deep red and gold lengha, and a sparkling maang tikka was the ultimate in bridal overhaul. Yanni Design Studio has once again proved to be the pioneers of the wedding decor industry and each clip of this highlight just drips with superior elegance. No one throws quite the party without a stellar sound designer in effect. DJ D’Stylz, Dhiraj Gupta of JSM Entertainment rocked the venue with the latest hits. We loved this wedding so much that we just had to feature it as one of our Platinum Guide picks and you can revel in all the visual details here captured by Rahul Rana Photography! But, first hit play to revel in all the glory celebrating Maharani Sonam and Harpreet captured with such elegance by Wynn Films that we know will just blow you away!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

Harpreet and I met through mutual friends in medical school. I knew there was something special about him from the moment we met and I quickly realized he was "the one" for me.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

Harpreet surprised me with a beautiful proposal overlooking the stunning Chicago skyline in Millennium Park. He strategically had my sister and best friend go on a walk through the park, where he was secretly waiting. Once we got closer, I saw him, wearing a suit, in the middle of Lurie Garden. I realized what was happening and couldn't believe it! He had emptied out the garden so he could propose right in the center. He had a table and chair set up for a private celebration with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The surprises didn't stop there. After he proposed, he had all of our friends and family, including visitors from around the country, waiting to surprise me to kick off the celebrations.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

I was so excited to plan my wedding but was so nervous since I didn't have any wedding planning experience. After talking to several friends who were recently married, I made my to-do list and got to work first picking the dates and major vendors, then the details. I absolutely loved my wedding and reception venue, the Oak Brook DoubleTree by Hilton. Their wedding specialist, Khulood Alfadhel, worked closely with me to ensure the wedding and reception were as organized and stress free as possible. Hair and makeup with Diem Angie and her team for the Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception was so much fun. Her team also did hair and makeup for my bridesmaids for the wedding.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

Picking my decor company was easy as Yanni Design Studio took my breath away with all the beautiful weddings they have done. Working with the team at YDS was my favorite part of the wedding planning process. Shari really helped my vision of an elegant, pink, gold, and sparkly wedding and reception come to life.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

Walking down the beautifully decorated aisle, with my dad at my side. I truly felt the love in the room for Harpreet and I, and I was so excited to be marrying him. I really felt like it was a moment straight out of a fairy tale.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

The mendhi function was held in a tent in my backyard for close friends and family. We had a dosa station and extravagant dessert table. All of the ladies got their mendhi done by Sonal Dhanani, who was great.

I wanted the Sangeet to be bright and colorful and full of dance. The garba centerpiece was unique as it was something my mom, neighbor, and some aunties helped build. We had great performances by one of our 3 year old ring bearers (he even pulled me in to dance with him), the Lungi Dance by my dad's friends, a garba dance by my Mom and her friends, and so much more.

The Reception was the part of the wedding I was most excited about. I wanted it to be full of sparkle, crystal, gold manzanita trees, and beautiful candlelight. We wanted to incorporate some fun surprises for the guests so we had a red carpet photo booth with a backdrop, selfie sticks on all the guest tables, and pink light up sunglasses distributed on the dance floor. The entertainment at the reception left me speechless and full of love. There were exciting dances, heartfelt speeches, and hilarious videos.

Thanks for visiting! We hope that you enjoyed this film just as much as we liked sharing it with you all. See you soon!
