New Rochelle, NY Indian Wedding by With This Ring Wedding Films

If you love fairytales I’m sure you will fall in love with Nadiya and Sherief’s magical wedding narrated by With This Ring Wedding Films in a superb wedding film! The photography was in charge of Weddings by Elvira who shot every minute of the wedding celebrations and all the candid moments of Nadiya and Sherief. The well-dressed couple looked stunning for their pre-wedding events and especially for their traditional ceremony at the Green Tree Country Club. Nadiya’s fantastic peach lehenga and Sherif’s white sherwani are absolutely to die for! A breathtaking ocean view served as the backdrop for the beautiful mandap Stylish Events created for the outdoor ceremony. The memorable reception was held indoors and the invitees enjoyed a spectacular dinner served in honor of the newlyweds by Akbar Restaurant - Long Island to later party all night long with Bollywood DJs. See the fantastic affair footage in the film below!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met at a conference in Germany that was hosted by the organization we both had a scholarship for. I was nearing the end of a year living in Germany and he was about to embark on a year abroad in California. We were in our very early 20s so I don’t think either of us imagined we would never really let each other go over the years. In 2014, we finally spent a full summer together and realized how compatible we were. It felt natural and right and that’s when I think I knew for sure. He’ll forever say he “knew” the moment he met me though *eye roll* :)

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went to India for my lengha. I spent a lot of time in the months prior to checking out the styles and colors I liked on Instagram and getting a sense of what I wanted. I was imagining bright pink or red for my outfit. When I actually went shopping though, I got something I totally wasn't imagining. It just looked best out of everything I tried on including my favorite colors. It was peachish-pink and had a large skirt with pleats and lots of “Can-can”. Once I saw how much my family loved it, I was convinced!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think guests felt like the wedding had a relaxed vibe, which made it easy for them to participate as they liked. Our focus was on dancing and keeping the dance floor open as much as possible—we didn’t have a ton of performances/speeches etc. dominating the night. This meant that folks could spend time talking with friends, dancing, and drinking as much as possible.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I am constantly aware of how open both our families were in coming together to enjoy and relish this week of festivities. Our families are of different background but they each showed such love towards each other and that’s what made our celebration as wonderful as it was.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The planning sucks but it’s all worth it! I also felt like I was the only Indian bride ever to want to be cost-conscious and minimalist in my wedding (I couldn’t end up being the latter because of #indianfamily). All the social media out there about Indian weddings makes everything seem so lavish and expensive, and I just wasn’t interested in making everything about my wedding planned and perfect. I just kept thinking- if people eat well and dance a lot, they’ll be happy and it won’t matter if their centerpiece is high or low. Don’t get me wrong- if you’re having an Indian wedding, it’s almost impossible to keep the cost reasonable, BUT you’re not alone and you can focus on spending on what’s important to you and be relatively lax about what’s not.

I hope this film helped you discover more inspiration for your big day!
