Happy Valentine’s Day Maharanis! On this wonderful holiday, we’ve brought you an extra special wedding film filled with hearts, roses, and an adorable couple. Khomarie and Saieid’s wedding feature compelled us to pause multiple times while viewing, in order to take a closer look at each lovely moment captured by Dean Sanderson Photography. The effort this couple put into blending various elements of their diverse Hindu and Muslim backgrounds clearly showed. The combination of the rich traditions, picturesque locale, and plenty of glitter and glam resulted in one sensational soiree! A clear highlight was definitely Khomarie’s bridal outfits, featuring oodles of sparkling details and accessorized with layers of royal jewels. Bridal Rang by Samiha dolled Khomarie up for each of her events, and she looked absolutely ethereal throughout the proceedings. After traditional Hindu and Muslim ceremonies, the couple and their guests were all set to party the night away at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. We were head over heels for the gold draping and abundance of luminous lighting created by Latin Asia. It was truly the perfect mix of elegant, chic, and modern. Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Saieid and I went to Orlando, Florida for our good friends' wedding weekend. We decided to extend our stay and make a little mini vacation out of our time away. I am a Disney fanatic, so there was no way we were going to Florida and not visiting Disney World. Beforehand Saieid planned out an itinerary including Universal Studios and Disney and I was so excited! We spent a fun filled day in Magic Kingdom and right before we left he insisted that we take some selfies next to Cinderella's castle. We took our selfies and out of nowhere Saieid got on one knee, I was so surprised, excited and speechless. It was indeed a "fairy tale " proposal in the most magical place in the world.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
When people hear "destination wedding" they think oh it must be easy. Planning a traditional Indian wedding away from home was very hard but very doable. Hard Rock was very accommodating to everything I needed. But unlike most weddings planned away I had 3 ceremonies and a reception; so it required a lot of attention. I made sure to go through every single last detail several times and ended up traveling with 14 suitcases to make sure we had every element needed to perform a traditional Indian wedding.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Choosing my outfits were one of the hardest things I did in planning! I wanted to be different but its hard to be different when your following traditions. Finding a different red lengha and a different white dress was a challenge. For my reception dress, I just couldn't decide whether to get a fitted dress or a princess dress. I always imagined having a big poofy dress but I also loved the way a fitted dress looked. So i got both! The dress I wore was by YSA Makino and came fitted with a princess overlay skirt. So I got the best of both worlds.
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
For many of my guests this was the first time they were attending a destination wedding so they didn't know what to expect. I tried my best to keep the entire wedding traditional even though it was away from home. We had 160 + guest attend our wedding and they were all so thrilled with the experience. I think people loved the fact that they were on a vacation and attending a wedding at the same time. Everyone was so relaxed, didn't have to worry about driving anywhere, cooking or cleaning. Just came to entirely unwind and attend a wedding.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Prior brides used to tell me all the time, enjoy planning because when it's done you're going to miss it. My advice to future brides to be is... enjoy planning because when its done you're going to miss it! While planning, I thought how in the world could you miss something this hard!? But the truth is it should be enjoyable and when it's all done all you have to look back on is memories and you also will never know what to do with all the extra time you'll have! Soak every moment in, focus on you and your fiance and making yourself happy. Don't stress too much about being " different." Indeed everyone has their own unique ways on doing things but it's extremely hard to be different when a standard traditional wedding asks of certain colors, themes and ideas. HAVE FUN!
