Parsippany, NJ Indian Wedding by Regal Palette Studio

Hello ladies! I think you are just going to love the wedding highlight film of Krishna and Ishant! These two really knew how to pull off a truly unique cultural experience, with the professional help of the exclusive planning firm Pearl Events & Co., this was the ultimate Indian wedding celebration! The multiple events of their wedding weekend took place in one perfect spot, the Hilton Parsippany. The sophistication of its wonderful halls went along with the marvelous decorations Rangoli Weddings created for the ceremony and reception in beautiful colors. I absolutely adore Maharani Krishna’s striking bridal attires, her red lehenga combined with chic mint green latkans and her pink evening dress glamorized with a dark dupatta were sure to draw attention. Injecting a happy vibe to the celebrations, the sought after DJ Vik Events provided the highest quality music and entertainment to create a truly outstanding event which Regal Palette Studio had the honor of capturing the most precious and major moments unified in the footage below!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Ishant and I have been childhood friends since the age of 12-13 y/o. He would always come around me and try to flirt but I usually ended up letting it go. At some point in our relationship as we grew older, we became best friends. He was always head over heels for me and I recall I didn't have anyone to take to my senior prom so of course, I asked him. Well, the next day he decided to ask me out. By this time he had already asked me a few times and I kept saying no. However, this time I figured why not? It was then we officially marked the start of our journey at 18 years old and here we are still together, stronger than ever 10 years later!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I knew it was about time to move on to the next chapter in our life - if you know what I mean. We had already planned around what age we wanted to be engaged. I remember getting so anxious for him to make the next move. One day he decided to take me to a work gala in NYC. We got into the city a bit earlier than expected so, therefore, decided to take selfies, stroll the streets of NYC, grab a quick bite and go to happy hour. He started receiving continuous texts from his co-workers, so we decided to wrap it up and head to Skylark - where the event was being held. I kept looking over at his phone thinking someone I know may have had texted him, signaling that today is the big day since I was already dressed up but unfortunately no luck. It was also a Thursday so it couldn't have worked out, right? We get to our location and he provides the gentleman at the entrance with his work information so they could let us in and they did. I quickly ran to the bathroom to freshen up for the event. An employee of the place there was kind enough to show us our way to the rooftop area. The weather was perfect and there was a fun crowd awaiting our arrival. The city lights looked gorgeous from up top and the view of the Empire State Building was breathtaking - surprisingly the color of it that night- purple, matched my dress. I turned the corner to get to our seating area when I realized what was happening- this was the perfect set up! The walkway was lit up with candles and a beautiful heart was made out of red rose petals. I immediately started crying and before I knew it I saw him get down on one knee that night to ask me to marry him and without a doubt, I said yes!

I looked over my shoulder to realize that all of our friends and family were witnessing this happening while blending in with the rest of the crowd. Also, I later learned that he made sure we had a view of the Empire State Building because he was able to have them change the color of the building to match my dress- yes, I was shocked! Ishant wanted us to shine brighter than ever and everyone there that night to witness it.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Planning was not as bad as I thought, said no one ever! Ishant, my now husband, honestly planned majority of the wedding. We are a very relaxed couple and therefore we handle each other very well under stressful conditions. I had found my makeup artist and hairstylist 2 years in advance when they worked on me for a friends wedding. Being a designer on the side, I was able to make most of my outfits which was a lot of fun because I was able to play with colors, designs, and patterns to create my vision.

The venue we chose was Hilton Parsippany which was great because not only could it hold the number of guests we had but they were able to make last minute accommodations to the best of their abilities.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Cultural values and upbringing matter a lot to me and my husband. With that being said I always knew I wanted a traditional red lengha for the wedding and that's what I chose. I had designed in 1.5 years in advance to my wedding. It had touches of green and copper gold with peach.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process had to be when both families came together repetitively to plan for the wedding from invitation labels to seating arrangements. It created memories and a bond that is unforgettable.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The guests truly enjoyed our outfits along with our performances/ speeches and food.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The anticipation in the cocktail area before making our entrance for the first time as husband and wife. We are excited to see what the world has in store for us and blessed to have one another by each others side from forever ago.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I grew up as a dancer and dancing runs in my family. Our families knew how much it meant to the both of us to have performances. We had a dance battle that both families performed to at the garba which was a surprise to the both of us! The guests were really enjoying it and stated it was a new idea that they had never seemed before but loved the old school Hindi dance off songs chosen.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Marriage is not just a bond between 2 people but a relationship between 2 families. Even though this gets said frequently its important to embrace each others love throughout the good times and the bad. It will only make your relationship stronger and oh yes, breathe... you ladies will be just fine!

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
My handsome husband picked the cake which was lavender with an ombre effect and pearl design- exactly something I would've wanted.

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met through an online dating website called "Dil Mil"
I knew he was the one because we shared the same values and he was ready to commit to a relationship and taking things next level.

This story is on our Zola website page. We matched on Dil MIl on January 12th, 2017.
and This is HOW OUR "DIL MIL"

There are two kinds of love in the world: the kind you feel, and the kind you "think" you feel. It’s interesting how deeply we can fall in love with ideas, and how pervasive our preconceived notions of what’s “right” for us can be. The truth is that sometimes, the best relationships are not necessarily the ones we choose for ourselves, but the ones that just arise out of nothing but a genuine connection.

This unexpected connection was rather serendipitous in nature. Gaurav was in NYC dining at his favorite restaurant – Ippudo. Little did he know, that this ramen hotspot is where he would meet his future soul mate. However; we did not meet that night. In fact, Gaurav just left as I arrived, but a few hours later, Gaurav and I matched with one another on Dil Mil.  Intrigued as I was after speaking with Gaurav, l was not sure if I was going to hear from him again as he was moving to the midwest (Indiana) the very next day.

Gaurav vaguely remembers passing by a tall beautiful girl who had caught his eye at Ippudo, however, because he was in a hurry to leave, I had disappeared into the crowded restaurant. Soon after leaving we matched on Dil Mil. We spoke that evening and luck as it has it, the very same girl that had caught his attention that night at Ippudo was no other than but myself. After connecting, weeks went by as we continued to talk and text.  We quickly acknowledged that we shared a strong connection and owed it to ourselves to take a leap of faith and meet in person to test that chemistry face to face. Gaurav flew to NY to see me on February 23rd, 2017 where he recreated our first date. We went to our favorite restaurant where we matched "Ippudo"

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Gaurav planned my birthday trip to Puerto Rico in September 2017. A day after getting into Puerto Rico we discovered they are expecting Hurricane Maria Category 5. We couldn't get to fly back to NY as the city was on lockdown and the airport was closed. The day of the hurricane, we spend 15 hours in a bunker (parking lot) until the hurricane passed by.  A day after the hurricane is when Gaurav proposed to me in our hotel balcony. Later on, I found out that he planned this trip to propose to me and unfortunately the restaurant where he was originally going to propose got destroyed during the Hurricane.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We originally wanted to get married in Puerto Rico since that's where he proposed but that wasn't possible after the hurricane so we chose Miami, Florida instead. We both wanted a destination wedding.
The difficult part was finding a Venue in Miami and since we all lived in different cities it just made it harder. I personally knew my vendors from NY so it was just safe to go with them.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved that we picked Miami for our wedding. The weather was awesome. They loved the entertainment/ non-stop dancing and food.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Wedding prep is hard and difficult but don't be harsh on each other. Keep communicating!

Enjoy your week! See you tomorrow!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met while I was going to college in Philadelphia.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I had been telling him for a while that I wanted to get professional photos taken of my dog (yes I’m one of those crazy dog mom lol) so one day last summer he called me and said he had found a pet photographer and that she would take pictures of Oreo (our dog) and some pictures of the two of us as well. So he planned the day and time and all I had to do was show up dressed for the photo shoot. The photoshoot took place at Piedmont Park one of my favorite locations in Atlanta. We took a bunch of pictures throughout the park (I did find it a little weird that the so-called “pet photographer” was taking more pictures of us than our dog but I had no idea what was to come. At the last photo spot, he got down on one knee and proposed with our family and friends watching from a distance.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My mom went to India and did most of my wedding shopping. I did have a specific color (blue) in mind For my reception dress, however, I was unable to find a dress I liked in that color. I was able to incorporate that color into our Decor for our reception.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The beginning stages of wedding planning were probably the most enjoyable. Once we got deeper into the planning process and realized how much went into it started to get stressful. Cake tasting was definitely the easiest and most enjoyable.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved the decor, live painter, and all the small little details

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the whole wedding planning process. It can definitely be stressful at times however once the time comes it goes by so fast so enjoy every moment.

Happy Monday, Maharanis! I hope your week is off to a great start!
