Atlanta, GA Gujarati Wedding by Derek Wintermute Photo

It's reel day, loves! We have a beautiful day for a beautiful reel! Long story short, Jenika and Shivam's parents served as marriage scouts and matchmakers. The duo met in the USA, and sparks flew! They decided to take the plunge and planned a big traditional Gujarati wedding involving more than 300 guests! Wedding expert Derek Wintermute Photography waved a series of lovely clips of their union that turned into a beautiful highlight reel. Four days of traditions, family, and dance, including a ceremony and reception at the luxury Westin Atlanta Perimeter North were part of the elaborate affair. Utopian Events designed the decor for the main days creating the perfect ambiance for both events. The aisle lit up with candles added a touch of romance and infused the ceremony spot with soft pink shades and blooms. Jenika also walked the wedding aisle in pink! She planned a spectacular look along with Shiya's Glamour, who draped her AsoPalav bridal ensemble and transformed her into a real-life Maharani using their expert skills. Shivam also made a striking statement decked in a Jade Blue pastel pink Sherwani and a Nordstrom blue suit for his reception. A night bash followed the wedding. Here, Jenika twirled in a silver lehenga and danced the night away with Shivam to DJ Bobby's music beat. At the same time, the couple's closest family and friends surprised them with dance performances! Watch these special moments captured frame by frame in the reel below. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I knew he was "the one" the moment I laid my eyes on him. The conversations I had with him made me comfortable and gave me a positive vibe. I immediately knew I wanted to share life's best experiences with him.
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Our decor theme was floral with pink and white flowers. It gave off a fresh frangrance and overall positive vibe inside the ballroom.
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I did have a color in mind; it was pastels. I wanted my color to look different as I also did customize color. All my wedding shopping wear is done online by doing a video call. I also look for so many designer outfits. I got it from Asopalav in Ahmedabad.
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The something that  tied our whole wedding week together. Seeing everyone's faces up and enjoying themselves. We have never had so much fun!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They enjoyed the overall vibe the decorations created and delicious food at all the events. The dance floor at the reception was also very active and the crowd was engaged with all the performances by friends and family.
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
When my husband and I exchanged garlands and we were doing our pheras.
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Enjoy the process as it is truly a lifetime experience.

We have this jaw-dropping gallery created by the talented team from BNB Photography, and we are also pleased to present the visual masterpiece by Niran Jangogula. And I know that you will love them both! To begin this journey, let me tell you that Lohitha Dasari & Mayur, made a perfect combination of venues to host their big wedding celebration! The Garden City Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Long Island, and the Crest Hollow Country Clu witnessed their promise of eternal love, providing the perfect setting for each ceremony and event. Just fantastic. To enhance the beauty of these venues, Stylish Events & House of Dipali created a unique environment with an excellent decoration that left everyone speechless. But who really stole the show was our gorgeous maharani, who look dazzling throughout the entire wedding events thanks to Kanwal Batool, who took care of all her beauty needs. So don't think twice and hit the play icon below! I know you will love it as much as we did!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Mayur and I initially dated when we were 15/16! We stayed friends after that for many years and always bumped into each other at random social events. Life happened and we reconnected again after I turned 30 and it was an instant connection. We had the same values and morals and instantly fell back in love again. Our first date was at a vineyard and we knew fate brought us back together for a reason.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Unlike other brides I hated the part of "planning". It was something that gave me a lot of anxiety because I wanted everything to be perfect. I had a vision in my head but had a hard time putting that down on paper. My husband who is a creative genius helped out tremendously in this department and pretty much executed all our ideas to our vendors. As our wedding was going to be on Long Island we had to find venues that could hold the amount of guests we had attending ( 800 +). We went with The Garden city hotel, Hyatt Regency and Crest Hollow country club. My hair and makeup was done by Kanwal Batool and her amazing staff - She has always been a dear friend to me so that was the one thing I was certain about. The Decor and theme we worked with House of Dipali ( Kiriba Floral) and Stylish Events of NY to execute the different visions we had for each event. They were an incredible help. Last but not least our attentive wedding planner Artistic Affairs ( Jharna) was there from the first moment to the last. She really gave us so many unique ideas and helped plan to perfect, we could not have had such beautiful executed events without her and her team!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
All my Indian outfits were custom done by Mom in India. I wore two different sarees for the wedding ceremony and they were custom made on the handloom. My mom actually picked out all the threads and warping and they were weaved by the weavers. Fun fact - I did not try on any of my Indian outfits till the day of each event! I trusted my moms choices and they all came out perfect. My reception outfit was an american white dress covered in swarvoski crystals. My family and I traveled to California to Karoza Bridal to pick it out as I fell in love with their designs on instagram. I initially envisioned myself in a mermaid gown but after spending hours there my mom pulled the perfect princess gown that I fell in love with as soon as I tried it on. Once again I guess its true, Moms know best.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The most special moment in our wedding was the first dance. My close friend Breanne actually sang our first song and recorded it and sent it to us all the way from Spain. She was unable to make the wedding but its something that my husband and I will cherish forever. We were serenaded with the most beautiful voice as we were dancing ; We truly felt there was no one else in the room as we danced.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Our sangeet night was filled with so much laughter and dancing. We had so many people that performed and took their time out of their life to add something special and memorable that we can remember, we will always hold those dances and songs close to our hearts. I also wanted to do a combination of songs dedicated to my grandmother, Mom & dad and my in laws. It was something I always wanted to do and I am glad I had the opportunity to do that.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Don't sweat the small things! So many things are going to go wrong and not as you planned but just remember this is the start of the rest of your life with your perfect love and that is what's important.

Wait to see what we have prepared for you tomorrow. It will take your breath away!

As soon as you lay your eyes on the film below, you will love how Payal prepared for this big event. She trusted her makeup needs to Simple Beauty by Preeti and her hairstyle design to Fiza Mansoor, who created a spectacular look for her. This memorable event was also marked by the phenomenal beats from M4U Events, who enlivened every moment with perfect melodies. If you want to relive this unforgettable celebration, don't think twice and click on the play button below. It is an absolute visual delight you don't want to miss! Besides, you will get all the inspiration you were needing to start preparing that fabulous wedding celebration you've always dreamed of! So, go check it out!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I’ve always known of Maulik for most of my life but never really thought of him as anything besides my brother’s friend. It was only during high school that I started to really notice him. He’s always had a reputation of being the “smart guy” so I decided to take advantage of that and asked him to help me with college applications. I never thought that would be the start of one of the greatest friendships. We instantly connected and what started of as a conversation about college turned into something that meant so much more. I knew from day one that this was the man I would marry no matter what happened in life. And eight years later Maulik got on one knee and asked me to marry him. There was no doubt in my mind this day would come, it was just a matter of when.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
From the moment that I decided that I wanted to propose to Payal I knew it had to be something small but personal. Family means everything to her so when I got the ring, I went to her grandmother who was in the hospital at the time and asked for her blessing. Then came the "big plan" of how to do it. To make it personal, I decided to do the proposal in her backyard but needed the help of all her family to make it happen. So on a snowy March night, we placed 300 candles and lanterns around the entire backyard and set up a twinkle light backdrop. Payal was with her cousin at the hospital visiting her grandmother and thought nothing would possibly happen on that night since it was already too late at night. To her surprise, she pulled up to her house, saw a beautifully lit backyard with John Legend's song All of Me playing in the background. As she walked towards me, I was more nervous than I had ever been. This was not the girl I was asking to only marry me but she was the one I was asking to take care of for the rest of her life.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
It was pretty easy to plan the logistics part of the wedding since my brother got married the year before. I used his Caterer (Rasoi III) and Decorator (Wedding Design and Decor) but of course went with our own ideas. Hair & Makeup was also simple since I've seen Preeti Riley's and Fiza Mansoor's work during other family member's weddings and I instantly knew they were the ones I needed to get. The same goes for the mehndi artist Monita Bijoriya who is phenomenal.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I chose my bridal lengha from India and before arriving there I already decided I wanted to wear a neutral cream or champagne color. Luckily for me, the first shop I stepped into I found the outfit I was looking for. I had a vision in my mind and it was exactly what I wanted.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Maulik and I loved planning our mehndi because it was low-key and in my backyard but gave us the opportunity to plan it according to what we wanted. We let our parents have their way for the wedding so mehndi was something that was completely ours. From live South Indian food stations to an actual ice cream truck, what more could we have hoped for!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food hands down! If you know my mother, she is a great cook and it was really important to her that all the guests enjoy the food. If there was one thing she did not sacrifice on, it was definitely the food.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment I sat down on the mandap and saw Maulik, I instantly forgot about the other 450 guests and realized that this is the man I will be spending my life with. I tend to micromanage everything but at that moment, I didn't care about what went wrong or what I could've done differently, all I cared about was enjoying the ceremony and making sure I remember every bit of it.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Shout to the greatest family for planning a program for our garba that consisted of dances and skits to relay our love story to all the guests.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Planning is the greatest part about getting married. Sometimes things don't always go your way but try to keep a relaxed attitude and remember to stay calm. Most importantly, when it finally comes to the wedding day, remember this is your day and it will be a great one so enjoy it and cherish every moment.
