How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met in Manhattan during my second year of residency and connected instantly. On one of our first dates we hung out for over 14 hours adventuring all throughout the city from museums to restaurants to bars, Jimson tells me he even skipped a wedding he had the next day so we could keep the date going. After our first month of dating, Jimson told me we were going to a gala and handed me “Tickets to Hogwarts - Platform 9 3/4” (he knew I loved Harry Potter). He then brought me to the Whispering Wall in Grand Central Station and asked me to be his girlfriend. I, of course, said yes, and he handed me an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Not only did I get a boyfriend that night, but I got accepted into Hogwarts! That’s when I thought to myself that he could be “the one”.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I went on a vacation with my family to Greece and had invited Jimson to join me. He told me that he was too busy with work and wouldn’t be able to make it to my disappointment. Unbeknownst to me, he secretly flew into Santorini for the last part of our trip for 48 hours and planned a surprise engagement proposal with my siblings. On the day of the proposal, my siblings convinced me that we should do a family photo session. When we arrived, the photographer handed me a secret note with a password that would open a Cryptex (think Da Vinci code). The password to the Cryptex was “Always” – a reference to one of our favorite scenes from Harry Potter and the way he used to sign all of his letters to me. I kept thinking the entire time, “There’s no way he’s here in Santorini, he’s in America!” As soon as I opened the Cryptex, Jimson appeared out of nowhere and surprised me with a Golden Snitch shaped ring box (to complete the Harry Potter theme) and proposed!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
We had 7 hidden Harry Potter elements throughout the day of the wedding and challenged our guests to find them - it was a fun way to engage with everyone while we were running around during the wedding. They were: my mehndi, our cake topper, a symbol hidden in our wedding program, Jimson’s socks, our wedding planner’s brooch, a Hogwarts acceptance letter from one of our first dates, and the Golden Snitch he proposed with.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment we won’t forget is when we walked onto the reception floor for the first time with our bridal party waiting for us and with our family and friends standing and cheering. You could feel the love and support in the room and it made us realize how blessed we were to have such a great and loving village behind us.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We had our bridal party enter as part of a choreographed dance. My sister-in-law Shingari runs a dance studio (instagram: @Shingarirhythm), and was able to coordinate all 20 of our bridal party members into a synchronized Bollywood dance. Everyone was raving about how different and energizing it was to see the bridal party come out to a dance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Start planning as early as you can! My husband is a great planner and so he had pushed us to do a lot of things earlier than needed, but that was a game changer, because it resulted in our wedding week being a lot less stressful thanks to the early planning.

Have a wonderful day loves. Thanks for watching!

Dana Point, CA South Asian Wedding by Lin & Jirsa Photography

Welcome back, Maharanis! Get ready to melt at every single detail from this fantastic, gorgeous affair! We are still speechless about this enchanting day at Monarch Beach Resort! For this particular day, Shiyana & Dilshan envisioned romantic-theme and luxurious details, and Shawna Yamamoto Event Design truly brought that vision to life with their fabulous designs and lush florals. The ceremony started with an awe-inspirational service that inspired every guest. To incorporate their heritage, traditional Sri Lankan dancers led the joyful Poruwa Ceremony. However, who stole every single breath, it was our beautiful Shiyana who entered wearing a gorgeous, stunning saree by Ramona Oshini. Once the ceremony ended, the room was embellished floor-to-ceiling with gorgeous white fabrics, and an extra-large seamless white dance floor filled the center of the room. This elegant dance space not only made a dramatic visual impact but also made all of the decors stand out. It was wonderful! Not to mention the fantastic performance from Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center, who entertain us in such a magical way. We are lucky to have all of these moments captured in film by Lin & Jirsa Photography So, go ahead and click on play. A never-to-forget visual treat is waiting for you!

Thanks to the fantastic film created by Wildcolors by abi, today we can transport you to this lovely destination and relive the wedding of Serina & Neill. The majestic Hard Rock Hotel Cancun was chosen by our beautiful duo to host their eternal promise of love. Family and friends were invited to share this unmemorable moment, and The Royal Collection was selected to take the joy of this union with such beautiful invitations. Every single detail was perfect, thanks to Urvashi Mishra, who did an outstanding job along with the celebrated wedding destination experts Shaadi Destinations, making sure that everything was in the right place at the right moment. Maharani Serina was the queen of her festivities thanks to the flawless bridal looks Erica Bogart Beauty created just fo her. The celebrations culminated with an unforgettable night of dance, music, and food, where our friends from Encore Events DJ had the honor of playing the best beats all night long for the lovebirds. Not to mention the well-decorated hall by Alquimia Events, that gave a terrific tropical look but, at the same time, highlighting the traditions from the lovely duo. Great night, great memories and of course a dreamed wedding! Join us and get some serious inspiration just by hitting play!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I don't think there was ever really an "aha moment" of when I knew he was the one. Neill and I first met 14 years ago during a local Garba event. It was not exactly love at first site. Our relationship evolved constantly and we had even tried dating in the past, but it didn't exactly pan out the way we expected and we both realized maybe we would be better off as friends. In 2016, Neill couldn't hide his feelings anymore and explained how he had been feeling about me. It took a little while of dating again to see just how perfect we were together. He was my best friend, and we both knew everything about each other - the good, bad, and ugly - and not despite that, but because of it, taking the next steps in our relationship felt so natural. I feel like such a cheeseball when I say it, but it was always Neill.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I will be completely honest, Neill tried to plan everything as a surprise, but I saw it coming from a mile away. I am quite possibly the most annoying person to surprise. He ended up taking me on a trip to Utah and after all the incessant questioning, I pretty much figured out what was up. It was however some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever experienced. It was truly a winter wonderland.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
When I was younger, I always envisioned myself as a modern, non-traditional bride. Color schemes of pastel or white were always in the back of my mind. As I got older, I saw the beauty in more traditional designs and patterns and was drawn to those as well. I think my bridal lengha embodied my personality perfectly. I ended up going with a subtle off-white base, with rich, gold and pearl handwork. Each border was an ode to each one of my parents and Jigya (the designer) beautifully fulfilled my wish of fitting in the names of my grandparents who have passed and could not be with us to celebrate. I decided to add a pop of my favorite color, a bold, emerald green with a traditional bandhni design with pearls and small mirror-work, to round out my dream of a modern, yet traditional bridal outfit.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
My favorite parts of the planning process would be seeing it all come to fruition and all the feedback and reactions from your family and friends. All the sleepless nights trying to communicate with my designers in India, and countless hours researching and organizing every little detail is all worth it when you get to experience all your hard work with all of your loved ones.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Something that was a truly unforgettable moment for me was walking down the aisle. I think it is something that every little girl thinks about growing up and to be actually in the moment, it is kind of surreal. For me personally, I did not know how my wedding would be. Being a child of divorced parents is not anything new for most brides in the US. But, in our culture and "society", it is rarely seen that both sides come together for times like this. Growing up, I never knew how exactly my wedding would pan out. Would everyone really be able to work through their differences? How would I get everyone in the same room without it being awkward? However, during our engagement and wedding planning, all four of my parents (both being remarried), worked seamlessly together and were honestly one of the biggest support systems as a whole for me. As I walked down the aisle, I saw not only my future husband, but all four of my parents and siblings, standing there waiting for me. It was honestly one of the most emotional moments of my life.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The worst thing I did was over-analyze things I had no control over. Plan the heck out of your wedding ahead of time, and as you get closer --- LET. GO. (Sidenote: use Google docs which auto-saves so you don't lose your ENTIRE mailing list that took a week to complete because your laptop decided to restart before saving.)

Atlanta, GA Indian Wedding by Walk on Water Productions

Welcome back ladies, today you will be dazzled by the wedding of Ami & Naishik thanks to the visual genius of Walk on Water, who immortalized the glorious events in a unique highlight reel you are about to see! This grand jubilee started with a solemn ceremony in the reflecting pool of the BAPS Mandir Atlanta, and it continued with a reception inside the luxurious halls of the Loews Atlanta Hotel! You will be enchanted with every detail that our friends from Mandap World conceived for the occasion, and that surrounded our lovebirds in both galas. So talented! Maharani Ami was everything a real Indian bride should be on her wedding day: a real radiant bride! She flaunted a perfect hair and makeup combo thanks to Robin Shanael, and Shyamal & Bhumika provided the striking lehenga designs that mesmerized everyone from beginning to end. Make sure to come and witness all the beauty of this union for yourself in our footage today and don't forget to check all the fabulous snaps R.A.G.artistry captured of these couple's lovely day here

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
It was love as first sight. A July morning in 2011, we both laid eyes on each other across a crowded ballroom at the Loews Atlanta Hotel.
Surprisingly, fate brought us together to be introduced through a mutual friend during a night out on the town. That weekend, we found ourselves totally emerged in each other's stories while we snuck away from all other company to be alone.
In October 2018, we are held our wedding festivities in the same venue where we first met.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We went to a revolving restaurant in a sky-rise hotel in downtown Atlanta. He had a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies (my favorite) waiting at the table. After our meal soaring above the Atlanta skyline, we walked around the viewing deck as he told me how much he adored me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I'm lucky to have such a large and supportive extended family. Everyone decided to do a family reunion in India during my wedding shopping. It felt so festive that the whole family was just as excited as I was for the events and upgrading their wardrobes.
Pinterest really helped me envision how I wanted every last detail of our wedding. Inspiration pictures showed me what I liked and didn't like in a cohesive decor. I wanted a timeless, yet elegant, style throughout my weekend.
Mandap World made many accommodations in order to assemble my exact vision. They helped me capture the perfect pastels for my Garba/Sangeet event, the simply grand decor for the wedding ceremony, and the innovative design for the Mehendi. I never wanted an outdoor wedding due to unpredictability of weather and discomfort of guests. But, my father convinced me that, during an auspicious event like this, what better place to have it than at God's doorsteps. So, we crossed our fingers and kept it outside. We were blessed with the most perfect weather that entire weekend.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I have loved Shyamal & Bhumika and Sabyasachi styles for a long time. I wanted it to look royal - like a true maharani. The image I envisioned in my head was to be in an all ruby red dress dripping with gold accents and jewelry.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
My favorite part was the decor planning. I am very creative and artistic. Therefore, I thoroughly enjoyed planning the decor details and color themes the most. It gave me a chance to let my creative juices flow into events that could be shared and appreciated by so many friends and family.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Guests loved the decor and the simplicity of events. We also made it a point to limit too far extended guests from being invited. This allowed us to connect and celebrate with the guests more informally and personally. Everyone truly felt close during the events.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Not many people have seen my dad cry. He has always had such a tough outer shell with a guarded, yet fun, personality. Ironically, during the events, his soft side was exposed and was so emotional. All the guests were teary, and shocked. As for me, my father and I have a soft spot for each other - after all, I am a daddy's girl.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
First dance song, "Breathless" by Shayne Ward - It was a sentimental choice; he sent it to me to tell me how he felt about me during our early years of dating.
Father-daughter dance, "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum - My father had no idea about this song. But when I had him listen to the words, he immediately broke down saying 'it's perfect'. He's always known the perfect balance of tough love with nurturing love and guidance.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Be very organized and don't leave details to the last minute! Also, assign a designated contact person that you trust to deal with specific issues that may arise (ie. transportation of guests, guest check-in at hotel, keeping up with the bar tab for reception, after party food/drinks, etc.). This will allow key family members to be more present and personable during the events.

A brand new wedding film tomorrow, ladies!
