Ireland Indian Fusion Wedding by House of Talent Studio

House of Talent Studio has for us today wonderful footage celebrating Monica & Alok's wedding affair. Ireland is the magical place selected by our couple to celebrate their love with their nearest and dearest. Planning a destination wedding is no easy task, luckily, our couple found Waterlily Weddings and from there on everything fell into place. Waterford Castle is such a versatile venue that allowed our lovebirds to celebrate various events with different themes and managed to surprise their guests every time! Raja Alok started his baraat procession in a fairytale white horse, filled with music and a dancing crowd. Maharani Monica looked stunning in a colorful lengha with perfect golden embroidery matched with a lovely side updo. I absolutely adore their wedding ceremony, Ireland is a magical place on its own and Lamber de Bie did a spectacular job creating a memorable white mandap with cascades of greenery with white blooms and white lanterns. It's time for an outfit change to join Monica & Alok's western ceremony! Our sweethearts joined their lives a second time in a lovely western ceremony, Monica looking like a princess in a mermaid style wedding dress and Alok in a classic blue tuxedo. What a glamorous couple! All the guests had the time of their lives thanks to Raj from Sound Nation who played the best beats during the wedding reception. Hit play to relive this Ireland fusion wedding perfectly captured by House of Talent Studio!

Stay tuned, Maharanis! Tomorrow we bring you Monica & Alok's wedding images by House of Talent Studio!

Next, on their long list of events, masterfuly planned by Cancun Unique Weddings, was the beautiful Jewish wedding ceremony held among palm trees. And here Maharanis, is were you need to grab a tissue! Groom Arthur, said the sweetest vows to his bride Deepika, who looked stunning in a white bridal gown and glowing makeup thanks to Cancun's beauty experts, StylingTrio. Check out all the blissful, joy, and tears compiled in the romantic wedding film captured by the camera crew of Mike Cantarell Films

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Arthur and I met in college through a mutual friend. It wasn't until a couple years later that we started dating but it was an instant deep connection!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Arthur actually recreated one of our first (and favorite) dates for the proposal. We had dinner at Founding Farmers, a known place in DC and then he took me to the National Mall where we sat and chatted for a while before proposing.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I've always known that I wanted a destination wedding, and with my family being from Brazil and his being based in the US, we decided we'd meet somewhere in the middle in the Caribbean. The planning started a year and a half before the wedding, looking at venues in different countries before setting our focus in Mexico. For the first year of planning we were sort of on our own looking for vendors. We took recommendations from our venue, Barcelo Maya, and also from friends and family that had gotten married in the area.

Overall, all of our vendors were fantastic. We didn't bring in Cancun Unique Weddings for the planning until around 4 months before the wedding. Joss from CUW took over after most vendors had been selected and helped us cross the finish line.

For Hair, I actually brought my own stylist from Brazil. He was someone who I had known since I was 8 and always dreamed of having him do my hair on my wedding day, so it was very special to have him with me for my wedding weekend.

For my bridesmaids hair and my makeup, we worked with Styling Trio, a local hair & makeup company. They were amazing - very professional, and I loved every single look.

For decor theme, I did the planning and design myself, working closely with my mom and maid of honor for the details. I had the help of CUW and Latin Asia—a decor company based in Mexico to bring the themes to life.

My mehndi was done the day before all the festivities began by Lotto Mehndi, a local Mexican company. They did a beautiful job on my arms and legs with stunning details, and the ladies enjoyed getting their mehndi done during our Sangeet & Mehndi night.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My wedding dress for my Jewish ceremony: I selected this from the White Dress by the Shore in Connecticut. My MIL made a private appointment for myself and family to enjoy an afternoon at the boutique. It was a wonderful experience and I settled on a beautiful off-white gown by blush by Hayley Paige.

My bridal lengha was a red + gold piece I picked out with my parents from a store in Mumbai. I must've tried on at least 20 options before settling on this one. I had always pictured myself in a red lengha!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I think the most enjoyable part of the planning process was the India shopping! My mom, dad, and I went to India for 8 days and got everything done. It was a whirlwind but so much fun. Growing up, I always looked forward to the day when I would get to explore Mumbai for wedding stuff and getting to go from the invitations place to getting the items for the puja to trying on lenghas – you can't beat it. And to have the opportunity to do that with my parents made it even more special.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think the family-aspect of it is what people loved the most. As a destination wedding, the guests who joined us had to invest time, money, take time off work, and some had to travel from far to celebrate with us. It made it really special and everyone felt like a big family together.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Yes - the sangeet entrance. Walking into the ballroom with my groom by my side with the dhol player and getting to see the beautiful theme come to life was really special. We could feel the love and support from our friends and family and it was a really beautiful moment.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We had 4 events total for our wedding:
1) Jewish Ceremony & Welcome Reception: This was on day one of the wedding. We started the evening with a Jewish ceremony on the beach (it rained 30 min prior but we got lucky!), and then did a welcome dinner that was Mexican themed.
2) Sangeet & Mehndi: We combined both events on the second night of our wedding festivities. We had dances from both sides of the family, as well as our college and work friends got together for a few numbers.
3) Hindu Ceremony: On Saturday afternoon, we had our baraat & hindu ceremony that was outdoors. It sadly rained so we were moved to a rainsite that was still outside but under cover. We had a dhol player join our DJ for two hours on the dancefloor. The guests loved it!
4) Wedding Reception: That evening we hosted a wedding reception at a beautiful ballroom at Barcelo Maya Palace. All guests were able to dance the night away to the great music by Planet DJ Productions! We had beautiful candle and hydrangea centerpieces, with a mix of rectangle and banquet tables, with gold tiffany chairs and a white vinyl dance floor. The color scheme was blue & gold—colors that are good luck in Jewish culture!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
If you are doing a destination wedding, definitely hire a wedding planner with local expertise. It's really important to get someone who knows the local vendors, culture, and business practices to help you through the process. Do this early on! I waited till 4 months before the wedding and I think we would've saved significant time and money if we had brought someone on earlier to help us.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
While I'm Indian (and my groom is American), I grew up in Brazil so we had a few Brazilian touches added to the wedding. For the reception, we ordered what are called bem-casados (happily married)—they're a small, dulce de leche cake from Brazil that are typically served on wedding days as a small gift for all the guests. My brother also surprised me on our reception night and had Brazilian Capoeira and Samba dances to entertain the guest.

Montego Bay, Jamaica Indian Fusion Wedding by MaxPhoto NY

Let’s set off to a dreamy Caribbean destination, Jamaica! The breathtaking island was the perfect location for Renita and Andrew to have their dream wedding. Thankfully, MaxPhoto NY also packed their cameras and traveled to paradise to record the lovely union! I love how these two posed barefoot during their beachside photo shoot, you can a take a closer look at all these timeless pics as they are all featured in our Platinum Guide Blog! The bride and groom chose the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and its sunny beaches as the spot to hold an idyllic ceremony where they exchanged vows and started the most important chapter in their lives. The soft color palette of the bridesmaids and flower girl dresses looked beautiful in the summer sun. The stunning bride Renita was all dolled up in a perfect white gown and groom Andrew wore a beige and white relaxed attire that totally matched a beach wedding. As the sun fell down, the fun part arrived! All guests were invited to a gorgeous beachfront tent beautifully decorated by Elegant Floral Design to party and dance the night away! The festive atmosphere was so energetic that our fearless couple decided to jump into the water with their besties for some fun snaps to remember forever! If you want to see more about these indelible memories I encourage you to hit play to the film below!

It was our 7 year anniversary (5/4/16) and Andrew reserved the rooftop area overlooking the empire state building (which lit up red that night) and surprised me with all of our close friends.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We went about planning our wedding along with Shivie of platinum celebrations. He made planning seamless and fun for us. Once we told him we wanted to have the ceremony in our backyard followed by a celebration he was able to guide us. Our theme was simple, orange blue and gold. We had our mandap made custom by elegant floral design. I wanted a circular mandap which Sandra at elegant floral had no problem doing. All other decor Sandra did for us. Makeup by Beauty by tamanna. Clothes and jewels wore by both bride groom and wedding party all by lotus bazaar.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My bridal lengha I purchased from Lotus Bazaar. Kavita, the owner did a fantastic job working with me. I told her I wanted something different. She was able to find me a length in red with mirror and stone work. The jewels were all specific to my outfit and she was able to find me the pieces I wanted. My Bridesmaid and Groomsmen outfit I was able to mix and match to find the perfect piece.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
We had fun with planning because we brought everything to our backyard. Decor, Mandap, Tent, Entry way. Every detail was important and special to us. We wanted our guest to feel the love and our families to both enjoy the celebration together after the ceremony.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Both of our favorite moment was the first time we saw each other. He was standing under the mandap, and I was entering the tent/mandap. It was the first time we saw each other in days and that moment was special for both of us.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
After our hindu ceremony we caught a flight and did it all again in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We exchanged vows and had our reception on the beach. We had a steel pan band after the ceremony with cocktails and then guest joined us for the reception on the beach. We had a Jamaican buffet, Jamaican fruit cake with fresh flowers where we danced the night away.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Have fun during planning with your other half and take it all in the day of your wedding because in a blink it's all over!

Riviera Maya, Mexico Indian Wedding by Christian Pleva Images

I’m sure you will feel a little closer to summer with the beautiful beach elopement of Manasi and Rohin. The pristine turquoise waters of Playa del Carmen witnessed the nuptials of these lovebirds who decided to pack their bags and have all their loved ones travel to this dreamy paradise! The exclusive Fives Resort Azul Beach accommodated all the wedding travelers as soon as they arrived to get ready for the wedding festivities. The bride started off the celebrations with an intimate mehndi session with all her female relatives and friends. With her arms beautifully adorned, Manasi was ready to hit the dance floor, with her soon to be husband Rohin, in a traditional Sangeet night by the pool. I’m sure our lovebirds wanted to know about relaxation in this tropical setting only. To achieve this important goal, the bride and groom left all their plans in the hands of the destination wedding team VIP Vacations. They made sure every day ran smoothly and gave these two the wedding they have always imagined! The oceanfront wedding ceremony, the beautiful entourage outfits, and the tropical vibe made the scene just magical. Thankfully, the cameras of the Christian Pleva Images’ crew chronicled all the love Manasi and Rohin professed to each other in a well-achieved highlight film. Make sure to hit play and enjoy the gorgeous sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of this beach elopement!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We first met at my place. I was throwing a party for my friend’s birthday. He was a friend of a friend and came over. Funny thing was, he wasn’t planning to come that night because he was exhausted but made a last minute decision. -        I thought he was cute and immediately did NOT want to talk to him so I politely showed him where the food and drinks were and tried to ignore him. I was going through a happy single phase in my life and didn’t want the distraction. Obviously that was a fail. Over the next few months we dated and I think I just knew no one else would compare.

Haha- I was not subtle. I was in a place in my life where I was not playing around. I knew what I wanted and I would oh so casually drop hints. It was about a year after we started dating. I remember I was going to go to India in the summer and told him how great it would be if I could just get my wedding shopping done. LOL. I have ZERO filter. I can’t believe he still considered marriage! Well, he proposed two weeks before my trip. I was totally surprised because he kept saying he didn’t want to be rushed and also tried to throw me off by telling me we were going out of town the next weekend….which I thought might be the moment.

Wrong. Two weeks before I left, we went about our day like any other Saturday. Got up casually, went to the dry cleaners. His parents wanted some family visiting from India to see Boston and were bringing them into the city. We were planning to meet them near the Charles River (where we live). Rohin suggested this pier we always go to watch sunsets, hang out/ drink wine. It’s actually my favorite spot on the Charles and I had been going there for years since I moved to Boston. That afternoon, I was wearing shorts and tshirt. Rohin kept insisting I put on a dress since we were going to meet family. I was actually getting upset because I didn’t think anyone should care what I was wearing. Rohin knows me so well and knew I would be mad if the photos had me in shorts. Anyway, here we are sitting on the pier, waiting. I turn around and see his brother and entire family (parents/grandparents) walking up the walkway to the pier, his brother playing the ukulele (casually). I was so confused but I knew we were going to meet them so I wasn’t surprised. However, as I went to hug his mom, she told me to turn around. Rohin proposed and I obviously said yes (not 100% sure but I think that word came out of my mouth). The best part is, the family members who were visiting who I had never seen before, were sitting on the dock with us and recorded the entire thing! It was beautiful. Not extravagant, not cheesy, and represented the things we love in our lives- each other and family

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Both of us wanted to have a wedding to celebrate but didn’t want people to come just because it was a big indian wedding and people LOVE indian weddings. We opted for a destination wedding instead in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. We contacted VIP Vacations to help us figure this piece out. Though they do travel, the CEO/founder Jennifer knows the wedding industry well and they have helped several previous brides before find a place outside of the US for a semi-traditional indian wedding. They recommended Azul Fives for us and it was perfect. Jennifer provided a very organized excel from a previous wedding that helped me plan my wedding. We took about 90% of the decor with us, kept it bright and colorful, and traditional but with some modern elements. My hair and makeup were done by my best friend who is a celebrity hair and makeup artist in Hollywood (Kerrie Urban). Talk about unbelievable!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I went India and already had some ideas in mind so in one day got everything!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Working with VIP Vacations and Azul Fives to customize our events including the beach welcome party.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
It was a huge 4 day party on the beach!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Walking down the pier surrounded by beautiful blue water

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Sangeet: I loved the color and lights
Reception: Rooftop+crazy DJ+beach= AMAZING

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Dream weddings do not need to be large or expensive. A wedding is only a few days but a marriage is forever so make sure your priorities are straight.

Anything else you want to tell us? We'd love to hear all about your other details! (jewelry, mehndi, venue, cake, bouquets, etc.)
I felt the entire wedding was truly representative of my style given I was able to design and implement the entire decor of the wedding. What I also really loved was we were the first couple to be married at the private location on the beach at Azul Fives. They made it happen and I am so thankful!

See you tomorrow, dolls!

Los Cabos, MX Indian Wedding by Pacific Pictures

Maharanis, we have for you today a super special treat courtesy of Pacific Pictures! Nirjary, a stellar wedding planner, and owner of KIS (cubed) Events tied the knot with Raja Amit in the gorgeous beaches of the Paradisus Los Cabos. The wedding festivities started with a midday Pithi-Sataak with a stunning view of one of Mexico's famous beaches. As a wedding planner taking care of your own wedding, you have high expectations to meet and Nirjary not only exceeded them but created a whole new level of creativity and elegance with the help of Vikram from Elegant Affairs, Inc. I'm so glad we scored an invite and witnessed their love first-hand! The celebration of love continued with an all-white themed mehndi party on a yacht cruise around the picturesque Love Arches of Cabo San Lucas allowing both families to bond. Maharani Nirjary looked picture perfect with beautiful white mehndi designs by talented KM Henna Artistry. All the guests gathered to enjoy a Sangeet night filled with joy, fire jugglers and even a dance performance by the bride herself! The groom started his baraat procession in the Paradisus Los Cabos's courtyard and danced joyfully with the crowd. They held a beach-front wedding ceremony creating a visual feast of green, champagne and coral hues. Their mandap was a unique design elaborated by Del Cabo Weddings that included mirrored columns and white garlands hanging from the ceiling, so romantic! This talented maharani personalized each event and their reception was filled with deluxe elements for the decor resembling a fairy-tale ballroom with large crystal chandeliers and lots of candles. Nirjary looked like a queen in a one-shoulder maroon gown with gorgeous embroidery patterns and Raja Amit looked classic in a black tuxedo. Erica Bogart Beauty complemented Nirjary's look with perfect hair and makeup. Hit play and get ready to witness a magnificent four-day wedding filled with glam and fairy-tale vibes! Don't miss their utterly sweet first dance that included a former Miss Iowa opera singer!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met online on an app called DilMil.  It's a funny question of when I knew he was the one. Well let’s just say he knew before he even spoke to me which freaked me out a bit, but as I invested more time getting to know him and we met physically for the first time March 17,2016 when I picked him up from the airport it felt so natural that’s when I knew this one was different.  He did what he said he would do, and made all the first moves and efforts which was different for me. Then as we got to know each other more and we both got deeper into our relationship by meeting each other’s family and friends it was great to see how Amit & I just fit into each other’s world and life.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Amit proposed to me on April 22,2017 Inc Savannah, Ga in Pulaski Square. We had spent the day walking around in the muggy heat and I was cranky and he kept making me walk around then finally brought me to the square and was like let’s take a picture which he never says since he doesn’t like taking pics, he had met our friend and photographer Nadia earlier in the day with her friend who lived locally he pretended to be an officiant in the square waiting for a bride and groom to conduct a ceremony. So I handed my phone to this random guy and he was trying to take pics and Amit sat me on the bench and went down on one knee and I cried a lot and then all of a sudden my friend Nadia was documenting from behind a tree. It was crazy I knew it was coming one day but didn’t know when.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Well Planning my wedding was a lot of fun for me because I do this for a living! It was also different because I was super detail oriented, as I am with my client’s events, but I knew I had to relax which was super hard. We knew we wanted a destination wedding and I wanted to get married in a destination where I had not done a wedding for my clients so we picked Cabo. I had all my vendors booked out in Feb. 2017 before Amit even proposed since that’s normal for Indian weddings. My first two calls/emails were to Kevin Shahinian of Pacific Pictures and Nadia Dzikavets of Nadia D Photo.  Having worked with them I’ve the years on my clients events and knowing the final product and how easy they were to work with, and they truly are my work family away from home since many seasons we spend more time with our vendors then our family in this business.  After that I knew I needed a designer to help me execute and orchestrate my vision which is why I chose to work with Vikram Panickar of Vikram Designs and Elegant Affairs our if NYC. I had the honor and pleasure of collaborating with Vikram on a client/friend’s event in Dallas previously and we just hit it off and I loved working with him because there was no drama he was always super calm, cool and collective and creative to the next level, it also helped that Vikram had worked in Cabo before so the choice was a no brainer.  After that I knew I could only handle so much in the week/weekend and I am lucky that my lively friend Andrea Pavone told me that she is going to handle the day of for me and I knew I had nothing to worry about as she and I have worked on many events together when I met her in her former career as a Catering Sales Manager and we are totally cut from the same thread.  My hair and make up was handled by a team of amazing artist that I have worked with over the years and have worked under our Bridal Elements Brand and special thanks to Carmen Lattimer, Roberto Guzman (Guzman Studios) and Erica Bogart (Erica Bogart beauty) they not only took care of me but my family ,Amit’s family, and my bridesmaids. They are definitely my family and know me well so all my looks were easy for them because they have worked on me over the years that they knew what I would like and not like.  My Clothing was a fun project for me along with all the colors I worked with Bollywood designer Archna Kocchar our of Mumbai for all of my clothes it was a great process and she totally worked with me on my vision to showcase different styles. My theme was a watercolor theme that was glam with many elements of the local culture but also our Indian heritage. I also made our guest wear colors that matched the events and it made for beautiful pictures. The venue was the Paradisus Los Cabos for 4 out of the 5 Events then we had an All White Yacht Mendhi Party in the Sea of Cortez sailing by the love arches.

We also had Jashn an amazing band out of Atlanta, The Paanwala out of NYC, Dholi Sagar from Atlanta, KM Henna Artistry for the Henna our of Dallas, DJ Impact from DBI out of Houston, local fire dancers and water color drummers, a Bansuree and Violin Player and last but not least one of my former brides Jessica Pray who is an Opera Singer to sing our first Dance song!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Traditionally in my family the bride wears a green blouse and a heavy cream/white panetar Sari but I didn’t want to wear the traditional Sari, and I am also not a person that likes things that are heavy with adornments.  My bridal lengha I went for all shades of emerald and jade green that faded from dark to light and I went for long cream cathedral veil. I love pearls and since it was near water I wanted the water elements. For the reception I knew I wanted feathers and went for a wine garnet color and I love a nice one shoulder.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
Spending time with my family, especially with my mom, as she was a big help in making our wedding flawless.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
From what I hear they loved that each day was different and right when they thought it couldn’t get better then this each day it did!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment both Amit and i were in the mandap it was surreal. The mandap making wind chime noises  and also to see everyone in the audience that we love and care about there for us was very nice and heartwarming.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Pithi: Yellow, Orange and Fuschia Pink
Boat Party: All White with a pop of Pink but the scenery was our decor
Sangeet: Royal Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Mirrors, Gold very Royal
Wedding: Shades of Green and Champagne, Coral with pearls
Reception: Very Regal, Classy only used 54 roses lots of Candles and Crystals and Chandeliers very much like the Jador Perfume Ad with the hall of mirrors behind us.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Now that I went through the wedding planning part for myself even though I am a pro at it I encourage all brides to get a planner you trust and you know is reputable and will do an amazing job and let go! Take it all in on the big day of because you have to enjoy the week/weekend with the people who came to celebrate you two!

My heart is filled with joy and I can't wait to see their wedding photos!
